Polaris hadn't waited more than a few days before seeking out the fledgling senshi who she had met at the meeting. Pasiphae, senshi of shame her phone had informed her. It was a curious sphere.. one she'd found herself pondering over as she waited for the other girl to arrive at the meeting place. What kind of powers went in hand with that?

Regardless Polaris was excited for the other girl to arrive. From the brief words they'd shared the senshi of magnetism had felt instantly attracted to her. Responsible.. sweet. She was like a breath of fresh air in a city full of senshi that.. weren't always on their A game. Or so Polaris hoped. Maybe she was setting her hopes too high.

A slight breeze rustled her hair and skirts as she rest against the wall outside the large and darkened book store. She could almost feel the excitement in the air. It was the first time she'd been really truly excited about a patrol since she'd returned from the camp fiasco.

Pasiphae had honestly not expected anyone from the Senshi meeting to call her, or at the very least not so soon. This had nothing to do with the characters of the women and men she had met. She had opinions about them as individuals, but she would not lump them into solitary individuals. They genuinely seemed, on the whole, to want to help one another. Her own offer to help had been sincere, even if she had never expected anyone to actually seek it.

The reason she had not expected a call was because the Shame Senshi didn't see what she could offer anyone else in battle in terms of aid. The insecure teenager did have a bit more confidence in her abilities than she had when she first began as a Senshi, but she was unsure what any of her new acquaintences would think when they saw that she could only protect herself with her summoned power. Yet, when her phone rang and Polaris's name had appeared, there was no way that Pasiphae would refuse to come meet her. In truth, if she would just allow herself to admit it, she was actually happy to be called, despite all of her reservations. The bonds she had forged with other Senshi she had worked with so far and the thought of being a part of something larger, more important than herself made it far easier for her to accept the responsability she had been given.

She forced these thoughts out of her mind as she arrived at the bookstore that Polaris had established as their meeting spot. It did not take her long to spot the Eternal Senshi and even less time to feel the power of her energy signature, so she walked over and offered a smile, "Hello, Polaris. I came as quick as I could... I hope you weren't waiting long?"

"Hello! And no, not too long" She piped up pleasantly as Sailor Pasiphae arrived, returning her greeting with a soft wave.

"I'm so glad you could make it!"

Shifting from her spot waiting, she brushed off her skirt a little before motioning towards the street, eager to get moving. "I figured we could just wander around the area and hopefully we might feel a bit of dark energy or run into some trouble."

Waiting for the other girl to join her, she smiled a little sheepishly before asking. "Mind if I be a little nosy?" Really she liked gleaning as much as she could off of everyone she met.

The teenager flushed a little at the warm welcome, but a true happiness shone in her eyes at the thought of being helpful, "I certainly wouldn't ignore a message from a fellow Senshi." She nodded at Polaris's suggestion at a general patrol. "That sounds good; I'm still getting the hang of sensing things, but with both of us together we should be able to find anything that may be out there."

As they began moving down the street, Sailor Pasiphae tilted her head, smiling quizzically at the Eternal Senshi beside her. She certainly didn't mind answering questions and exchanging information... but what could Polaris want to know that could be considered "nosy"? "Of course not. If it's something I can answer, I don't mind questions. Likewise, if I have any questions, I'm sure you'll answer me, right?"

"It's something you learn with time and experience. Before too long you'll be able to tell just how powerful someone is. Or be able to pick out the difference between a youma and a human opponent."

Her voice was conversational as she walked, nurturing. Polaris was a teacher in training, a little girl who grew up playing mother to a house full of brothers, so it was a tone she often doned.

Her eyes would glance to the other girl now and then, offering her a mild smile before they scanned the street again, paying extra attention to the alleyways and other areas that remained shadowed outside of the streetlights.

"Of course I will." She nodded in agreement. "Maybe not everything right away.. there are some secrets that should be kept until you know someone a little better. But I think that as allies we should share as much information as possible. Keep everyone in the know, so to say. But some other senshi like their privacy I guess."

"I was just going to ask how long you'd been and who awakened you? And what your power did?" The first question was conversational, just nice information to know, the later was all for strategies sake.

"I've been doing this a little over two years myself. And my power let's me manipulate metal in the area. I can make just about anything metal in the area throw itself at a target." It was one of the cooler powers in her opinion, and it brought a sort of proud smile to her face as she spoke.

"I can already feel the difference in levels--like how you feel stronger than some other Senshi I've met, and the difference between a Senshi and a Youma. Just the bare basics, really." The younger Senshi stuck close to Polaris, double checking any area they stopped to investigate but likewise finding nothing. She stammered a bit, reassuring Polaris, "I don't mean to pry into anything private, and if I do you can tell me. I just... I think, like you, that allies need to know certain things. That's all."

She then fell quiet as she listened to Polaris's story. Two years? Pasiphae suddenly felt more inexperienced than ever; she had known that other Senshi had been fighting the good fight longer than herself, but she had only been doing this for a few months. Two years... would she still be doing this, two years from now? She returned her thoughts to the matter at hand, answering clearly and directly all the question that had been asked of her, "It's been... since May of this year, so two months or so? I was awakened by ********* while walking my dog. As for my power... I can create an energy shield around me. It breaks after awhile, but until then it keeps any attacks from hitting me." It was a little embarassing, and a lot less impressive, in comparison to Polaris's ability to be a female Magneto, but it was the truth.

Then, almost as if to make up for her weaker power, she added, "But I've been in fights with youma before and walked away. I know to use kicks and punches or, if they're resilent, use make-shift weapons."

Two months.. still a baby in the grand scheme of things. And yet.. not the kind that hid or shirked their responsibility. It was possible that it was an excitement thing still.. and that her interest might wane at some point but really.. she wasn't getting that vibe from Pasiphae at all.

It was perhaps that reason why Polaris had made the snap decision that if the senshi of shame asked.. she'd be alright with telling her that most secret of things. Her identity outside of the uniform.

"There is very little I'd be unwilling to share, so don't worry about that for me. But others might be a little hesitant."

She listened with interest to the power and information offered. A defensive power, not that worst she'd heard or seen, but not the most helpful thing in the world either. Really she had to give her points for being so enthusiastic with such a defensive power.

"It's great that you've picked it up so quick! For the longest time I relied on just my magic and dodging." It had helped A LOT that she had been a dancer. Had been, she didn't have much time for that anymore. The more dedicated senshi you became.. the less of a social or regular life you had time for.

"It took me much longer than two months to learn to use my own body as a weapon."

A couple alleys down something lurked in the dark, sniffing through the dark. It had felt the large energy powers coming.. the beautiful starseeds just ripe for the taking. The creature crouched down, claws dragging against the pavement lightly as it waited.

Pasiphae nodded, "I can understand wanting to keep things like your real name and such a secret. Or just personal information in general, things that don't matter in the long run."

"Well, I didn't learn it all on my own," Pasiphae confessed, coloring at Polaris's enthusiastic praise at her level of progress. "I got lucky and had another Senshi teach me some basics pretty soon after I started out. He taught me how to fight the youma with phsical attacks, since I only have defensive magic. I... honestly, I've been very lucky to have others to help me every step of the way so far."

Her pace slowed half-conciously as they spoke, and if she noticed the tinge of dark energy a few alleys down, the only sign was a slight inclination of her head. If there was a threat, Polaris would find it; she accepted this as truth and continued to walk passively beside her companion.

"When you get real close it can be good to know that kind of stuff. In case one of you ever needs help or a place to stay. To pick you up if things get too heavy for you and remind you sometimes that you are only human. But it's certainly not something everyone needs to know." She agreed softly.

It made her happy to hear that others were helping 'younger' senshi train. She wondered softly if she knew which particular menshi it must have been.. there weren't THAT many. But in the end it wasn't really that important. As long as someone was helping! "That's great."

Her voice and steps paused suddenly, her hand whipping forward protectively, much like when someone stepped on the breaks too quickly in their car and was afraid the other person was going to be whipped forward. It hadn't been a very large youma or exerting much energy which was perhaps why it'd taken her so long to notice it.

But it wasn't more then a few moments after the pair had stopped that he creature lurched out into the street, a warning growl sounding. It had wanted to surprise them.. and was irritated that they'd found it out.

To one versed in animals the youma would have looked most like a badger then anything else, it's body stocky and compact, huge teeth and claws glimmering. Only it was much larger.. and much angrier.. which was saying a lot for a badger.

"Careful" She whispered softly, even though she didn't need to, her eyes watching and waiting for the youma to take the first move. "If you hear me start to call my attack try to duck or use yours. It's pretty easy to get hit by metal flying around."

The less experienced Senshi listened carefully to Polaris's words, and a thoughtful frown crossed her face. She, personally, had no real problem giving her identity to other Senshi... provided they were trustworthy. And, so far, all of the ones she had met had been. But she hadn't really developed... a closeness, it seemed, at least not the way Polaris described it. Which wasn't to say that she felt distant from her fellow Senshi--far from it! But she had only met so many and most only once... it would take some time, she assumed, before she developed the types of connections to which her companion alluded.

"Oh, I've been meeting all kinds of helpful people! All the Senshi I've met so far have been really--" Pasiphae nearly walked into Polaris's arm when the Eternal Senshi placed it before her, indicating that they needed to stop. It didn't take her long to see why they had done so, and she steeled herself against the badger-like youma.

"Yes--I'll follow your lead," Pasiphae whispered back in response to her companion's instructions, her muscles tensing as she prepared for the inevitable battle. It was only one youma, but it was a mean looking one. Hopefully with the two of them working together... it wouldn't take too long to be rid of it. "I'm ready when you are."

She was getting better at the camera thing. Though in truth she wished there had been a better way to go about counting for the contest. If she ever had another one she'd definately find something better. It was almost routine though as the camera was quickly pulled out and aimed at the youma, one gloved arm the only sign of her in the picture. While others had been going for the 'coolest' shots, she was all business. Her white gloves and unique bracelet was enough to identify her, and as quickly as the camera was withdrawn it was put back away.

Her fists raised tentatively, trying to gauge the best way to try and hit the beast. The claws and teeth though were ever present, always seemingly in the way. As the beast began to lumber forward Polaris decided to play it safe.

"Once the metal has settled you might be able to find a weapon" She stated matter of factly before running forward a few steps, calling forth her weakest attack. "Magnetic field!"

Around them any metal littering the street that was smaller than a few pounds and not bolted down shivered to life before flinging itself towards the running monster. The clatter of metal striking was loud and disorienting, the minor discomfort and confusion stopping the monster momentarily in it's tracks. It didn't stay stopped for very long however, proceeding forward once more with a roar and warning swipe of claws as Polaris scrambled to pick up some debris, sliding a few screws and shards of broken metal in between her fingers, adding a bit of umph to her punch.

The less experienced Senshi didn't have a chance to summon her shield before Polaris summoned her attack. She clapped her hands over her ears at the clashing and crashing, her maroon eyes wide at what was (for her) an impressive display of power. Her awe was soon broken, however, when the Eternal Senshi jumped in to punch the badger-like youma.

Getting her head back in the game, Pasiphae ran over to grab a weapon of her own. Her gloved fingers over the collected metal, settling for a long, jagged piece that seemed to have come from some discarded metal roofing. It wasn't much more than a makeshift knife, and she had never used such a weapon... but it was certainly better than nothing. She dove in soon after Polaris, aiming for the youma's hind legs in an attempt to disable it.

Had she known the other girl was impressed, she might have grinned and preened. If nothing else Polaris was quite proud, especially when it came to senshi related things. She'd had to accept the fact that in her civilian life she wasn't anything spectacular.. but as a senshi! Well.. she had a little bit of an ego.

Pasiphae's quick actions were admirable, her strategy good too! To go for the legs wasn't really the most common place, except they could prove to be quite effective if done correctly.

Polaris on the otherhand was going for the face. It was more dangerous, but so many sensitive and sensory places resided there that if hit would do some real damage. Her fist landed once, for the most part harmlessly hitting the youma's cheek. She withdrew her hand quickly before aiming it again, hissing a little as the tips of claws managed to brush against her leg. Not enough to grab and hold, but certainly enough to sting and draw blood.

Luckily with the two of them attacking from different sides they'd confused the youma some, and he was having a hard time deciding which to attack, or how to attack both.
PostPosted: Sun Jul 24, 2011 10:29 pm

Pasiphae manueavered around Polaris's strikes as best she could, not wanting to get in the way. Twice she missed the hind legs due to her partner's punches moving the target, but the third time she was able to drive the thin piece of metal into the creature.

When she stuck the metal shank into the youma's leg, the creature immediately roared with pain and recoiled. Unfortunately, the makeshift weapon ended up hurting her as well as her enemy. The jagged metal sliced open both the detailed fabric of Pasiphae's glove and the palm of her hand. The Shame Senshi hissed and rolled out from underneath the creature, clutching her injured, bloody hand closed. Hopefully her attack would help Polaris rather than make her job harder... but it was always hard to tell with injured creatures, whether natural or youma. With a hiss, Pasiphae began looking for another weapon among the scrap that Polaris had gathered previously, wanting to jump back in the fray as quickly as possible despite her wound. She couldn't leave her battle partner alone!

"Good hit" She called out encouragingly when the youma reacted in pain. She hadn't seen exactly what the other senshi had done, but the fact that a good blow had been landed was clear with the way the badger like creature roared and snapped in pain. It's teeth smashed together angrily, and it began to writhe and strike more frantically.

Polaris was focusing on landing another punch when the creature managed to snap down on her arm, it's grip like a vice. A shrill shriek of pain broke through the air, her free hand punching the beast hard in the face.

There was a growl and the beast shook it's head back and forth, Polaris' arm and shoulder being wiggled and yanked as well in the process.

Grimacing and hissing, she looked around for Pasiphae, calling out to her. "Is there... anything big or long enough to do some real damage?" She could help the other girl guide it if need be, but right now she was a little afraid that pulling her arm out would be a very bad and very bloody option.
