The feelings that had come with her transformation and accession were confusing, and even now a day later she had hardly begun to muddle through them. Without doubt there was an overwhelming sense of relief and disbelief. To have thought and accepted the fact that she was going to die... there was no way to explain the amount of relief and thankfulness that had filled her over her second chance at life. In fact, most of the night following it had been spent on those emotions alone, many joyful tears had been shed, stupidly happy stuffed animal hugging, and even an awkward late night call to her father.
In truth it was unlikely she'd even be able to get through it all in days or week. To fully digest something so utterly magical and shocking and just beyond anything she could have ever imagined or dreamed of. A princess. Like Castor... like Chronos... It meant responsibility too of course, but anyone that knew Aurora knew how happily she was to step up to that.
Only time would tell and lay forward a path for her, and she had barely begun to work past the disbelief and into an immense feeling of pride when she'd picked up the phone and dialed a familiar number.
It wasn't uncommon at all for her to call her boyfriend and invite him over. But it was perhaps a little stranger that she had answered the door to her apartment already henshined up in her fuku. She hadn't mentioned patrolling during the phone call after all.
Simply that she really needed to see him. And she did. Simply to bask in the joy of being able to be held by him again when she'd just the night before thought it would never happen again. And of course for a little surprise. Hopefully he liked surprises.

Azzo normally wouldn't think anything of Aurora calling him. He had his hands in his pockets as he walked towards her apartment. It was chilly out, fall seemed to have really set in early this year. However, it was when she opened the door he seemed a little skeptical. "Why.... are you already powered up?" He asked moving inside quickly making sure no one was around.
That was the last thing they needed. The negaverse to show up at her door step or the fact there the whole oh hi there's probably people wondering around in an apartment. He sighed, "You really shouldn't be so careless, you know they can feel your energy signature. If you're standing around waiting for me all that time..."
He was looking uneasy at the thought. He didn't want her getting snatched, he'd have to roll some heads if she did. "Really Polaris what were you thinking?"
However, in his hands was one bag from a coffee shop and a tray with two drinks. "I got us hot drinks and hot fudge sundaes. Though I suppose if you want to go patrolling, the hot fudge sundaes will have to go to the trash." He frowned, not wanting to waste food. Specially chocolate cake, with vanilla ice cream topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry.

In her defense she had taken the time to peek carefully out of the peephole before she opened the door, to make sure that no one was hanging around, and she'd shut the door pretty quickly behind him. A point she was quick to mention. "I made sure to look before I opened the door. I'm not as careless as you think."
Only... she hadn't really thought about the energy signature thing... which made her deflate a little, shoulders slumping just a little.
Couldn't he just hug her? Or say he was happy to see her? Didn't he know she had almost died and be as thankful as she was just to him!? Well.. no actually.. he didn't.. which was the only thing that kept her from pouting at his scolding, instead shifting to find a way to wrap her arms around him without hitting the drinks or bag. He could be mad at her all he wanted and scold her to death, but even that wouldn't ruin it for her. There was in fact a distinct smile on her lips as she hugged him tight, cheek pressed against his collarbone for far longer then it should have been were it some normal greeting hug. She lingered for awhile seemingly unwilling to let go.
When she finally let go, she didn't reach for the food or drinks quite yet, even though the smell of the sweet coffee was inticing and the promise of ice cream even better. Instead she simply shook her head as she stood back an arm's length from him, speaking cryptically. "We don't have to patrol tonight. In fact I'd really rather we didn't."
"It's just... something happened last night and I... wanted you to know." Her eyes watched him curiously, expectantly.

"Really?" He asked looking at her skeptically when she seemed to realize that he was at least half right. Azzo let her hug him, however his hand was quickly getting a cramp from holding the drinks. "Can I at least sit the food and stuff down?"
This was a question before he actually moved to do so when she let him go. Sitting on a chair he was staring at her, "You'd rather we didn't... but you're powered up..." He looked confused.
He sat there staring at him when she said something happened last night and she wanted him to know... Since when was that sort of thing worthy of smiling, there was almost always something bad happening... He frowned watching her, "Well?" He asked as he waited for the answer.

"Well..." She parroted his word back softly, seeming to dwell on it for a short moment before she took a very deliberate breath.
When she'd powered up the night before it had been done for her. Some miracle that had allowed the power to sweep over her and consume her, offering her the strength to finish holding up that roof until the civilians had escaped, and then even enough for her to leave too.
Did it require words to do it now... or was simply will enough to switch between? She'd watched Castor do it so carelessly time and time again now. And in the end it didn't take nearly as much effort as she might have imagined.
With a flash of light and energy the ever familiar fuku of the eternal senshi was replaced with something else. The soft flow of elegant fabric swept down her body, stealing away the clunkiness of her boots and gloves, replacing it with delicate gold and crystals. Her wild half undone braids retwisted, and the flutter of genuine feathers filled the air. There was an air of regalness and elegance in the young woman that stand before him now, but the sparkling excitement in her eyes and the delighted smile were unmistakably the same girl he'd known all along.
No words were required, there was simply the soft sound of feathers shivering against each other.

Azzo sat there, mouth agape for a while. Staring as Polaris became a .... a..... "PRINCESS!?" He clamped his hands to his mouth eyes wide.
That was until another though hit him. "Damnit do you want to get us killed? Powered down for Christ sake. Do you know how much power that gives off!?" He scolded, "Some Nega brat could be tracking you down for miles!!"
His brain couldn't process quick enough the thoughts that came to his head, he was sitting there looking at her in both shock and awe. He was also praying that the negaverse didn't notice the energy spike. "Come on there's a reason you had the spars out in the middle of no where!" He added in desperation, this was not good.

There was disappointment in her eyes, soft and subtle, but it was there nonetheless. What had she been hoping for...? Excitement? Well that would have been nice.. Pride for her? Really more then anything she just wanted to be fawned over a little. To be told she looked beautiful. Wasn't that in every princess' right? That was how it had always been in the fairytales.
So in the end she was only a princess for a brief moment before she relented. Upon his request she shifted forms all the way down to Aurora, dressed down in some sensible pajamas.
"I'm sorry." She offered, though in the end she really wasn't that sorry. He was the one being difficult, and it was amazing how quickly her mood could dampen. It could not be exstingushed entirely though.
Turning away she made her way over to the drinks, taking her into her hands and removing the lid before she blew on it softly. Had these coffees always smelled this good? "Thank you for the drinks"

Azzo sighed softly as she seemed.... Disappointed. "Aurora..."
He was thinking as he pulled out the food as well, sliding her a cake. "Look, seriously I'm proud of you. But you can't be so careless with that, don't be Castor." He said in a pleading voice. "I don't want the Negaverse to come after you because you're busy being a pretty princess. What happens if they catch you?"
He had stopped to move over to her side, his eyes were watching hers. "I don't mean to ruin a good thing, I just don't want you hurt because you wanted to show off. You know the saying, 'with great power comes great responsibility.'"

After talking to her father last night, who she obviously couldn't reveal anything to, Azzo had been the first person to come to her mind. The very first person she had wanted to share it with. But now... well if this was how it was going to go she wasn't sure how many more people she wanted to share it with.
Maybe she'd just keep it a complete secret until the need to use her powers against a powerful enemy arose... Only.. that hardly seemed the answer either. Her team might be practically non exsistant at the moment.. but once it was one.. well.. she hoped that she'd be close enough to them to share their secrets. And it felt almost a duty to let the other princess and princes know.. even if only to let them know they had someone else they could rely on if ever in need.
Sipping her drink lightly, she got herself a spoonful of sundae cake and was lifting it to her mouth when Azzo spoke, his words like a dagger through her heart. Busy being a pretty princess. He thought that was all she was doing just then? That that was what she would do with her powers?
How could she have been so happy to see him just minutes before? And now wanted nothing more then to just close him back outside the door... The cake faltered for a moment before finally making it into her mouth, chewing somberly, her eyes downcast from his.
"I'm not a child.."
"But I am sorry I brought it up. I wanted to share it with you but..." Obviously it was a mistake.

He sighed when she said she wasn't a child, pacing the floor Azzo shook his head. He screwed up again, such a lovely thing to realize. "Look. I know you're not a child..."
He started to saying something else however she let her words hang with a but. "But what? But I'm a horrible person for wanting to keep you safe? Obviously there's not that many senshi around that are a prince or a princess Aurora."
He was conflicted. "I am happy for you, I am don't take what I'm saying as me not being happy for you." He almost wished Zirconia was here, even if she did chastise him for being a big tool.
"Will you just stop to think about using that though? I don't want to lose you..." He was looking out the window now before going back to pacing the length of the floor. His cake and drink forgotten. "Your being a princess... I fear it'll give negaverse a reason to paint a large target on your back."
He was looking at her, "There has to be a time and a place to use that, I know you want to show off. And it's a very lovely dress, but I can't fathom this being the right time to.... to... power into that." He wrinkled his nose. "Do you even know if you have an attack that you can use to protect yourself in that form?"
He finally sat on her couch and didn't move for a few moments, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. Only this ended in him closing his eyes to think.

Responsible. Safety. Thinking. They were not uncommon words in either her or Azzo's vocabulary. They were always serious about senshi stuff. Even in real life they were fairly serious and responsible, more like adults then teens as they straddled the line of young adulthood. It was not something she usually minded, it was practical and nice.
But if she ever wanted a moment to just.. be momentarily irresponsible... and excited. Then this was the one. The moment to relish in the fact that she was alive and maybe.. just maybe feel special for a moment. And she had been denied it.
Could she blame him for worrying about her though? No. His caution and worry for her was part of what she loved about him. She didn't want to touch on his words because she thought it might unleash something more. Be it frusteration from him or tears from her, she was too emotional now.. too prone to say something damning. So after listening, and eating another bite she simply approached his question lightly. "I don't really know what I can do in this form. I wasn't in it for very long last night."
"I guess I'll visit my star sometime soon. There I should be safe enough to experiment and learn." She'd probably be giving Castor a visit too, for advice or.. something.. but she kept that little tidbit quiet too.

Azzo sighed and finally stood up moving back over to his cake before sitting down and taking a drink of his cappuccino. There was a nod, "I'll go with you, okay?"
Instead of completely telling her, he was halfway asking her if he could. Still, there was one question that was lingering. Though at the same time, he wasn't sure if he wanted to know the answer. He started on his cake that by now had half melted.
"We can take some food and stuff up and some warmer clothes if you want. In case you want to take a few days up there?" They could probably figure out a way to stay for a little while without getting frostbitten. After all from what he remembered the world still had fire places. "Hm... might have to find an Axe to take in case there's nothing like that up there..."

"Okay." She agreed, a soft and optimistic raise in her tone. She shouldn't really get her hopes up or anything.. but maybe when there wasn't anything left to worry about he wouldn't be so rigid.
The offer for a few days stay received a small laugh, pointing her spoon at him in playful accusation. "Are you saying I'm that slow of a learner?" The spoon lowered, scooping up another bite, but her eyes stayed trained on him in her mock playfulness.
"Besides, what happens on those cold and dark nights? We wouldn't want you to have to snuggle up with me for warmth or anything." With that the spoon dissapeared into her mouth, as if to add a period to the end of the sentence.
Sarcasm wasn't usually her cup of tea, but the sort of good natured banter was simply her good mood slowly returning. After a moment, she add on, a bit more seriously.
"We can plan for a few days but I don't know that it'll take that long. Are you free this weekend?"

He chuckled as he ate his cake, "No I'm not saying you're a slow learner. I'm saying it might take a few days to figure out."
He paused, "Well, there's some blankets up there right? We can take a few more. To make sure we're warm." He was thinking and finally shook his head, "I could live for a night or two if we had to snuggle up as long as you didn't get any ideas." He teased back, if they were could enough he could totally handle it.
He nodded, "As normal, besides Gram's has bridge with her friends this weekend. She should be safe back in the country."

It was true.. who knew what there even was to learn. Would she know or have a feeling what to try? Or would it be totally willy nilly experimentation? Who said she wouldn't give up in frusteration early on the first day. They were better being safe and planning for longer rather then shorter. So weekend it was.
Thinking back, she tried to recall the contents of her planet. Did she remember blankets? No.. But that was more likely because she was excited and interested in other things. Who knew how comfortable the beds or dressings of the ancient planet were, but they were almost certainly there. She even seemed pleased with his answer.
"It wouldn't hurt to bring one or two just in case, but I'm sure there is stuff there. Food and water is the more important thing." She imagined she'd be more comfortable on her star in the new form, having less bare skin to be assaulted by the cold.
"It's a date then."
