The job of a senshi, or rather any champion of goodness and justice, was not resigned simply to that of dusting youma and hunting down the negaverse. And Sailor Polaris, who always had a mouth full of morals and duty to spout about, had probably unsurprisingly become more and more accustom to dealing with jobs that many other senshi might have ignored.
If anyone asked she would insist that it was good publicity for the senshi. That if the police saw senshi as on their side then they'd have one less thing to worry less about. Whether it was true or not though was debatable. But at the end of the day it all came down to one thing. In the eyes of Sailor Polaris, helping someone in need was the right thing to do. Even if it was something as mundane as retrieving a purse from a purse snatcher.
She was out patrolling for youma of course, but had been alerted that something was out of the ordinary when she heard a shrill shriek. One roof was quickly traversed, and second before she could locate the source, getting there just in time to see a woman being dragged back into a gas station.
Through the glass she could see more people. A few cowering as others towered threateningly over them. There was also a man behind the counter.. with another man pointing something at him menacingly. A gun? Or a knife? Oh god!
She was off the roof in a second, pounding the pavement towards the gas station. Could she just go through the door? Ugh.. there was no time to think!!

Camelot had prepared for tonight. He brought his cane with him, a different one to the one he had during the day, at least, so he could walk around a bit better on his still injured and healing leg. He also had taken a dose of painkillers before setting out, so he wouldn't be in too much pain if he was out all night doing his patrol.
He left Dogby all set at home, with her bed and bowl and water in his room. He was sure she would be asleep on his bed, not hers, by the time he got back. She liked to cuddle under his pillow, for one reason or another, and sometimes he came home to see her little corgi butt, stump of a tail flicking with her dreams, sticking out under the pillows.
He was patrolling nearby when he felt the energy of a senshi, and heard a sharp scream. He assumed it was a youma or something negaverse related, and moved as quickly as he could to help. Down the street, running as fast as he was able to.
He saw the senshi drop down from the roof, running to her side just before she had time to run at the gas station. He had no idea what he was doing, not having seen the source of the trouble just yet.
"What's going on? Is there a youma in there? I'm here to help you!" He said to her, skipping a hello or an introduction in light of the sense of emergency.

She recoiled in surprise as she was joined, just the slightest motion before she realized that he was indeed an ally. And old...? Maybe it was just the henshining but.. he seemed quite a bit older than anyone she'd ever met within her powered life.
Nonetheless an immediate nod of acceptance was offered to the knight, Polaris was always happy to work with people. Be it senshi, knights, or even the occasional chibi or civilian. Ecspecialy in cases like this, where she was so out numbered and the possibility of collateral damage was so dangerously high.
"I'm not 100% certain, but I think it's a hold up. There are at least three people in there that look like they're up to something.. and some.. hostages?" She was eager to get in there.. but at the same time.. the moment's pause had given her second to realize it might not be the best idea though. "They might have weapons..."
They had to hurry but at the same time... she seemed willing to listen to the older male's two cents if he wanted to offer any.

If Camelot had a dime for every comment, every look, every thought he got about his age... he could have retired early, that was for sure. But tonight he didn't even notice it, as she had reacted much more subtly than many others. He would have been thankful for that, if he even knew.
But he didn't.
"A hold up?"
He had never heard of youmas doing any such thing, and he could feel no aura for a negaverse agent around. It took him a moment to realize that she meant an old fashioned hold up. There were people in there, threatening other people. It almost seemed to simple and, in a way, almost quaint. That was condescending, but the knight couldn't help but feel a little jaded after all the powered fights he had been in and seen.
"We'll have to be careful. But I think I can help. I have, ah, chain mail on. Not great in fist fights, mostly, but against a human? I think I can be a good distraction. They probably won't even attack me. If I draw them away from the hostages..."
He wasn't sure how that might happen though. If he moved in there and they hurt one of the innocent people. He tapped his chin thoughtfully.
"Or we can try to be more subtle about it? Uhm." He looked around for an idea.

Call her old fashioned.. or sheltered, it wasn't far from the truth. Perhaps the reason she'd not reacted was because her view of 'adults' was not the same as many modern youths. It wasn't so long ago at Elegancia's coming of age ball that Aurora had been playing with the outdated idea of nabbing a much older man. Older men meant stability, safety, strength, responsible sensibility. Even as her views had slowly begin to shift through her many experiences in Destiny City these ideas rest in the back of her head.
It was actually calming her down a little all things considered.
"Subtlety isn't really one of my strong suits." She smiled a little apologetically, trying to creep closer for a better looks what they were dealing with.
"Just don't get yourself shot in the process..." The eternal warned warily. Even as strong as she was... she didn't want to make a bet on whether or not a single gunshot would take her down.
"My powers let me move around metal though.. so it's possible I could throw shelves at them or pry their weapons away from them."
But would it work? She was a little afraid that if they were startled from a suddenly shifting and moving gun their finger might slip on the trigger.

Camelot frowned hesitantly.
"I'll definitely try to avoid that outcome," he said with a node of his head. He didn't want to get himself shot any more than she did, he was certain. Chainmail wasn't the same as a bullet proof vest. He was more confident if knives were involved, but only just. He had never really tested how strong the links were, and for all he knew they would turn out to be paper thin anyway.
But if people were in danger, he was more than willing to take the risk.
It bothered him more now then it even had before, when things were 'normal' and he had no powers to transform, that people were hurting each other. Didn't they understand that there were so many other threats out there, far beyond their comprehension or ability to really deal with let alone fight against, that they had no need to be hurting each other on top of it all? But they really did have no idea.
Sometimes it was better that way, but for now it left Camelot conflicted. There would always be good guys and bad guys, and the lines were never easily divided. Defending the innocent meant defending those without powers who would still wield guns to hurt others. He couldn't hurt anyone inside.
That was a troubling thought.
"That sounds like a good plan. I'll distract them, you hit them with your spell? I'm sure there is metal in their weapons, knife or gun, so if you could focus on getting those away from them, we'll be able to get those civilians out of there.

"Okay!" She agreed quickly and a strong nod of the head, feeling her uncertainty from before at least partly reassured. With a second brain to bounce ideas off it seemed to her that the idea was a little more solid. And if he was going to draw their attention.. well then accidental shots or slices were more likely to be thrown their way then at the civilians inside. Which was really what had been troubling her the most.
Once they got the weapons away they could worry about restraining the bad guys as best they could so that the police could deal with them! But in the meantime, protect the hostages.
"If things get crazy, I've got your back" She added as she crept closer to the glass doors, trying to spot as many of the weapons so she could focus on them when the time came. It was a sincere statement, with a sincere smile behind it. They might not have even known each others names yet... but an ally was an ally in her eyes and each one was a precious thing.

The knight nodded his head, not wishing to be stabbed or shot tonight, and keen on doing his best to avoid those situations. So he moved carefully, knowing he needed to distract them without becoming a full on target.
If he could manage that, he'd be home free.
Of course, things were never quite as simple as that. He would have to make himself seen for the distraction to be really effective, and he could not chicken out of the matter at hand now. He didn't want to, truth be told. He knew things would always be dangerous, and that youma and negaverse agents might be terrible, but humans could always surprise and be just as awful.
maybe worse, in their ways.
He didn't doubt that the senshi had his back, though. Her words and expression made that clear enough, but more than that Camelot always felt safest when he was with senshi. Even with other knights he didn't get quite the same feeling of connection, and maybe that was because he had spent so much of his time before ever becoming Camelot with senshi. They were familiar, and he trusted them entirely, without a second thought.
He moved to find a suitable entry, then snuck in through the back. They didn't have any guard thugs, at least, and that made getting in easy. It was getting out again that would be the trick. Once he was inside he took a breath, then shoved over a display, drawing the attention of everyone inside with the sudden action and noise.

((I suck, sorry Lith!))
Polaris watched intently for some movement.. some sign. She was watching for subtlety.. like surprise on the face of those that she could see. But in the end even through the glass she heard the loud crash and clatter of a display spilling to the ground, sending a bunch of cans rolling across the floor.
Hostages and captors alike, all eyes went immediately to the sudden noise and motion, the gun being held on the shop owner even traveling to point cautiously. Taking in a deep breath, Polaris attempted to focus. If it were only one weapon she could focus on it and make sure it made it perfectly safely out of his hands. But she was worried there were more.. which meant she was going to have to use her more chaotic and less powerful attack.
Which also meant there was about to be a LOT of metal moving.
"Magnetic field" The metallic stands and shelves creaked unhappily, smaller magnetic items in the shop shivering before they sudden and mysteriously took flight towards the front door, before crashing into a pile on underneath.

Camelot wasn't great at being subtle, it seemed.
He was trying to stay hidden, but with the display pushed down, he was a little exposed. He decided to run with it, letting them see that there was someone there to stop them. Maybe his armor and appearance would be too surprising and strange for them.
What criminal expects a knight to stop them?
He just had to have faith in Polaris' ability. He felt a sudden pull, not strong enough to knock him off his feet, but definitely a tug at his metal armor and chain mail. He looked to see the weapons moving and the thugs reacting in surprise and fury. he charged then, slamming into the guy holding a hostage after flying over the counter to do so.
His hero instincts were sometimes a little over enthusiastic.
Still, he managed to do what he wanted to: he slammed into the bad guy and freed the hostage. The others reacted in their own way. One thug went fleeing for the door, another leaping to help his companion.

Uh oh, one was coming towards the door, which meant it was her turn to do something. Whether he was trying to escape or trying to get back the weapons that had been 'stolen', she couldn't let him succeed, so instead she powered through the door and attempted to block both, calling out. "If anyone has a phone, call the police!"
They could fight the robbers all they wanted, but there came a point when, atleast she would begin to worry about hurting her opponents too greatly. And letting them just run out and escape... well that was hardly an option either.
Hopefully someone would step up, or they'd clumsily be able to tie them up or lock them into a room until the police could come and deal with them properly. A lot of hopefullys.
For now though, her shoulder leaned in, smashing into the robber headed her way. It ended with both of them on the ground, Polaris quickly trying to get to her feet again incase he bolted again.

Camelot was busy fighting with the guy at the counter.
He saw the goon running for Polaris and instinct told him to fight for her, but he couldn't get to her and, more than that, he knew she was capable of defending herself. She was a senshi, not a damsel in distress.
He punched the guy he was wrestling with hard in the face and he went down. Camelot shook his hand out, wincing, not too used to punching people. He usually used his shield for the fighting, and tried to avoid it all together if he could get away with it.
Which wasn't often, he was learning.
"Everything under control over there?" he called, while pulling the guy he had knocked out around the counter and looking for any of the others to take out. He saw them hiding in the back of the store, unable to escape. That was fine by him, so long as they weren't causing trouble. The one that had tried to attack him had thought twice about helping his friend, it seemed.

((I assume cops can come as soon as you like, whether someone called someone or the cashier had hit some alarm. :3))
Polaris would have been touched had she known he'd even momentarily debated coming to her aid. She might not have been a damsel but she was definately a romantic.
As it was, Polaris and the robber were clumsily tussling on the floor. Unless she was simply underestimating him, it wasn't hardly a life threatening situation. She was tied more by her desire not to beat the living crap out of him then she was by his actual physical strength. A knee to the stomach brought a rush of air out of her lungs, crawling on top of him to try and keep him down based on her weight alone.
"I'm alright!" She piped up in response, cringing a little as she punched the unruly man beneath her.
The remaining men were in the back of the store.. the hostages beginning to stir and react in mixtures of fear in some and jubilation in others.
Huffing and puffing, Polaris called out for Camelot's advice once again. "Should we let everyone just get out of here? Or make them stay until the police arrive as witnesses?" Without witnesses... would the guys even really be charged? She'd seen the news enough to hear a dozen or more stories of supposed criminals going free.

"I think that might be wisest," he said, nodding his head. He moved to her, after taking some pit stops to check on each of the hostages to make sure no one had been hurt. He knew that they were scared of him, for the most part, but one offered him thanks, and told him to thank the other for her as well. He smiled.
Well, that made it all worth it. He didn't do these things for anyone to thank him, and he understood that it was and would always be a thankless job for the most part. People running around in weird outfits and with super powers were scary, simply because they were difficult to understand.
But when someone was brave enough not to be terrified of him, it made him remember that these people were all innocent, and they needed help.
That was his job.
"Witnesses, I mean, if they're willing?" The woman who thanked him nodded her head. She was willing to stay, at least. He looked at Polaris again, heading to her side. "As for us, I don't think the police would like to take our statements."
The sounds of sirens drawing closer made him tense. He really wanted to be gone before they burst in.

They were one in a dozen.. sometimes only one in a hundred. But appreciative or helpful people.. it was the kind of wonderful surprise that could raise even the most discouraged senshi's spirit. Really when they didn't run in fear Polaris was plenty happy, but the offer to be a witness received an especially thankful smile from the senshi of magnetism.
"You're right, we should go" She nodded in quick agreement to the knight, making her way over to the doorway and the scattered weapons. Gathering them up, thank goodness for gloves, she was intent on dropping them outside the building that way noone could try to grab at them again, calling out a message directed at the men hiding in the back.
"Don't think we're leaving. If I see any of you come out NOT in handcuffs you're going to be in for a world of trouble."
That said, she glanced towards Camelot once more, in hopes of him opening the door and leading the way out.
