About The Hunter: Name: Seren Yong Nicknames: Sera, Reni, Star Gender: Female Age: 18 (As of Podding. Is unaware of how long she was in the Pod, by choice) Birthdate: 4/1/1996 Height: 5'8" Weight: How Dare. How DARE. Category: Sun Phone Number: 2-3-1258 Face Claim: Mizuhara Kiko
Personality Traits: Caring - Seren has a big heart and cares, deeply, for those she considers family or friends. This can lead to her to over committing when trying to help them, or even putting herself into difficult situations to protect them. Betrayal by those she loves is incredibly hard on her. Wall Around Her Heart - Due to her past, she tries very hard not to let others in. She's tired of the pain of caring for people and finding out that they're going to come behind her and stab her in the back. It takes a great deal of work to get behind that wall. Hot Tempered - Seren is easy to piss off. She spent years holding her tongue at home, but now that she is no longer dependent on her parents' good will, she no longer feels the need to leash her temper. Except with her superiors, because she's not stupid. Determined - She didn't make it to where she is now without a good amount of will power. Her determination has caused others to call her iron willed in the past, and that hasn't changed. Insecure - She has no faith in her own worth. She is convinced that everyone around her is far more valuable then she is, and expects everyone to see that fact eventually. After all, she sees it. It leads her to be somewhat reckless in the face of danger, because if she can save those of greater value, at least she's done something right.
Personal History: Born on April Fool's day, her parents often told her this had been a sign from the gods she was a joke on them. After all, she was supposed to have been a boy, the son they so desperately wanted. They took care of her, making sure her needs were met, but that was it. She was unnecessary, unwanted, and she was well aware of it very early on. She always tried, very hard, to make her parents see that she was a good girl, and would make them proud. It never worked, and when she was five, her mother got pregnant again. When the child was born, it was the son they had desperately wanted. They named him Dewydd, to show how loved he was, or Dai for short. They kept him in their room at first, but when it was time for him to have his own, Seryn was kicked out of hers.
The only space available for her was in a place full of terror for her, the basement. It was one of those basements that, no matter how many lights you put in, never seemed to get fully lit. It always had a creepily dark corner or two, with shadows that seemed to be watching deep inside them... Or at least that's what Seren saw. Her parents informed her she was being a useless baby, and too her things down there, and locked her with them. She was told she was not allowed to come up for dinner until her room was neat. She spent hours trying to get everything organized, and place the ugly, cheap lamps they had given her, so as to maximize lighting in her new room.
She spent the next 10 years working hard at school, still trying desperately to show her parents she was good enough for them. It never worked, because all they cared about was Dai. Dai, strangely enough, adored his sister. He always tried to play with her, or spend time with her, which irritated their parents to no end. The only good they saw of this was that Seren made a good babysitter... Her brother generally was very well behaved for her. As he got older, and noticed how they treated her, however, he tried to get them to include her... So when he was 8, they started pushing her to spend more time in her basement room. They even paid to add on a bathroom and small kitchenette in there, so she could cook and clean, without having to bother the rest of them, more then absolutely necessary... And a door out, so she could go to school without Dai seeing her.
On her fifteenth birthday, her parents 'celebrated' by explaining to her that A. she'd best keep up the good grades, because there was no way THEY were going to pay for her to go to college, and B. that she needed to get a part time job, because they wanted to cut back on the cost of feeding her. She ended up working part time at a local fast food, and it was there she met Terri and Mical. The two of them were dating, and often came to her restaurant. It turned out they went to high school together, but had never had any of the same classes. They spent a ton of time together, and the relationship evolved, becoming something between all three of them. On her sixteenth birthday, after having dinner and cake at work, and spending time with her partners, Mical walked Seren home, as it was later then normal.
Seren was very surprised to see her father standing on the porch, glaring in anger and waiting for her. He yelled at her about being out too late, and how DARE she be dating at her age? She might get pregnant, and then THEY would have another useless mouth to feed! Seren, finally, snapped. She yelled back "WELL Since you don't NEED me, why do you care what I do? As long as I'm feeding myself and not getting pregnant, it's not your business if I date Mical OR some one else... Maybe even a woman, like OUR girlfriend Terri!" She leaned over, kissed Mical to prove her point, and fled with him to his house. His parents, as well as Terri's, loved her and were more then happy to let her crash there for the night, on the couch. The next day, she went home after school and found that her key no longer unlocked the front door. She was about to ring the bell when she saw a note taped to the mailbox with her name on it.
Her fingers trembled as she took it down, and read it. "Seren, you are no longer a child of ours. We will continue to allow you to use the basement, until you are 18, as we do not want to deal with CPS, but don't even TRY to get into the main house. We've boarded the door shut. You are forbidden from trying to contact Dai, or us. You will get exactly $50 a month to spend on food and other necessities from us, so better be careful with your paycheck! Here's a signed form to take the Early High School Exit Exam, so you can focus on working." Seren broke down crying, and spent the rest of the evening in a puddle of misery. Luckily she didn't have to work, bt the next few days were hell for her. She managed to get herself signed up for the Exam, however, and passed it with ease.
Over the next 6 months, she got herself another 2 part time jobs, and basically spent every moment working, fitting in time with Terri and Mical when she could. Unfortunately, they couldn't take it anymore, and both of them showed up one day, after her last shift of the day, and told her they were breaking up with her. Terri said "If you manage to find time for us again, maybe come look us up and we'll try it again... But only if you're serious!" Once again, Seren spent a night in tears, her heart torn in two by the only people who'd ever made her feel she truly was wanted and needed. She spent the next year and a half working her a** off, saving every penny she could.
2 weeks and a day before her 18th birthday, she gave all of her jobs a 2 week notice, and began selling off anything she owned that she couldn't easily carry in a suitcase and a backpack. She bought a train ticket to San Francisco, and began packing. The day came, and as she was hauling her things out of the basement, feeling sick but grateful she'd never have to live in that hellhole again, she found, to her shock, Mical and Terri waiting for her, looking hopeful, and holding a present... and then surprised. "Where are you GOING?" Terri cried. Seren glared and said "Why? You kicked me out of your lives... I'm leaving this place, and never coming back." Mical handed her the present, and whispered "We didn't mean it like that... we wanted you to realize you were pushing us out, and killing yourself while doing it..." Seren couldn't take it, and fled, her face crumpling as she ran for the train station.
She never heard her brother crying her name behind her, begging her to come back, and that he missed her. She didn't hear Mical or Terri begging her not to leave, because they loved her. She didn't even hear her parents yelling "GOOD RIDDANCE." All she could hear was the pain in her heart. As she boarded the train, she shoved the present into her luggage, where it barely fit, and refused to look back as the train pulled out of the station.
Hours later, she managed to find a cheap hotel that would let an 18 year old rent a room, and fell exhaustedly into the not very nice bed. The next day, she began hunting for a job. She spent the whole week hunting, but was finding, to her horror, that life in the City was way more expensive then she'd been prepared for. Her money began to run out, and by the time a week was up, she had to leave the hotel, because she couldn't afford another night. She managed to get herself, and her things, to Golden Gate Park, when she tripped, and her suitcase popped open. Out spilled her stuff, including that damn present she'd never opened. She shoved everything back in, except that, and collapsed on a nearby bench. She was about to throw it out, when she gave in and opened it. Inside, it held a pair of star shaped hair ornaments, with a note saying they were from Dai, a pendant with a Bow and Arrow on it to represent Sagittarius, Terri's star sign, and an X-Men logo pendant, which was Mical's favorite comic series. Under these were a photo album, full of photos of her with her brother and her exes. She began to go through the photos, crying in pain at the memories. She knew she could never go back, her heart would never let her, but it hurt so much and she wished she could. Suddenly, she looked up, and realized it was growing dark, and she still had nowhere to go. She put the gifts on, and the album in her suitcase, and huddled on the bench, terrified, because now... Now she had nowhere to hide from the Shadows, no lights and no safety.
As it hit full dark, a hand came down on her shoulder, and she jumped, screaming in terror, convinced she was about to be eaten alive. She whirled, and found a woman standing there, wearing a very odd outfit... It was still warm enough that the White coat and scarf seemed out of place. Then the woman spoke... Spoke of the Shadows, spoke of them being real, and a way to defend against them... And offered Seren both a job and a chance to fight the Shadows that terrified her so very much. Seren was not a fool. A job, full support, and a way to fight? She jumped at the chance to say yes, and knew she made the right choice.
About the Weapon: Name: Diwata Nicknames: Di Type of Weapon: Sword Unsummoned Form: A shooting star brooch Former species of weapon:Bakunawa Gender: Female Personality Traits: Only Two - Diwata cares about exactly two things. Herself, and her Hunter. Others can go shove off, because they're unimportant, except in how they effect Seren. Diwata cares about Seren just as much as she cares about herself, a thing she was very surprised to find. Up until then, all Diwa cared about had been herself. Protective - Diwata sees the low levels of self preservation her Hunter has, and will do anything she can to protect Seren in spite of herself. Not just because Seren is Diwa's only outside access, but because she is loved by Diwa Hungry - Diwa is always hungry for Fear. She knows she can only get so much but she is super hungry. So hungry that sometimes she spends an hour whining at Seren about needing more Fear, because she's SOOOO hungry... Even if she had just managed to be fed. Stored Fear doesn't assuage her hunger, she just wants more, always. Whiny - When things aren't going her way, Diwa will whine. And whine. And whine some more. To the point where Seren has threatened to knock herself out just to shut Diwa's whining up. Diwa sometimes sounds like a three year old begging for candy, to be honest
Weapon Ability Devour (The Bite T3): Diwata may not be able to swallow any moons, especially not in this form, but she can still devour something, or more specifically, Fear. Weight of the Moon (Battle Cry T2): Seren swings, and swings hard, and when it hits, it feels like Diwata seems to be heavier then ever, causing extra damage.

Seren's Dorm: There is a distinct Star theme to Seren's room. It's very clear she likes Space. There's star charts hung on the wall, along with posters with glow in the dark constellations on them. Her sheets are deep blue with stars. Her desk is very neat, and holds things in an organized fashion. The one thing that stands out is the Photo Album she keeps in the center of the desk when she's not actively using it.
Relationships: = Loath/Hate = Seriously Dislike = Dislike = Kind of Annoying = Neutral = Kind of Cool = Like = Cares a lot About = Love You = Rhys
- Rhys Donovan - Boyfriend, love of her life. Would do just about anything for him. - Dewydd Yong: Brother. Now a Death Hunter, and 18. She's VERY unsure about this, though she is glad for the chance to have a relationship with him, without their parents there to try to stop it. - Caron Yong: Mother, generally despicable person in Seren's eyes. - Hyun "Joe" Yong: Father, also generally despicable - Joy. Seren's first friend here on the Island, was there when she awoke. Seren wants her to find love. One of Seren's 'sisters', in her mind. - Kim. A surprising friendship. Seren's good friend. - Terry. Kim's boyfriend. Seren met him first, and he was the first person she ever spared with. He seems like a nice guy, if strangely unemotional.
