Seren slowly descended the stairs into this so called 'Cove'. She was still feeling somewhat disoriented by the place she had ended up, after the... trial? She didn't feel that was the right word for something she couldn't even remember but somehow felt must have been rather traumatic. She leaned against the end of the stairwell wall, when she got to the bottom, staring into the room. This was a 'cove'? This didn't look like anything she'd ever seen that was called a cove before in her life. In fact, she was pretty sure this room did not, in any way, meet the textbook definition of a 'Cove.' Somehow, though, she found it a strangely comforting place to be
After all, it was rather dark in here, other then that torch, and the walls were covered in glowing runes. It was almost like walking into a starscape, in her mind. Finally, she pulled herself back into a standing position and began to move amongst the runes. She ran her fingers along them, wanting to feel like she was touching the stars, but the odd feelings and sounds she 'heard' made her jerk her hand back, and in fact caused her to step away from the wall entirely, staring at it suspiciously. Suddenly reality caught up to her, and she frowned deeply. "I thought I was supposed to find my weapon. How the ******** do I do that in a room without any weapons in it? This makes exactly zero sense, so what the ********, seriously?" She turned, slowly, trying to make sense of what she was seeing here. Her frown twisted into a confused moue, and she poked one of the runes, again, before stepping away.
"All right... somewhere in here is a weapon I need to find. The room is supposedly a Cove. Maybe... Maybe it's some sort of weird puzzle? I have to maybe hit the right set of runes to unlock the door to the real Cove with the weapons?" She tapped her foot, as she considered that idea, then she shook her head. "No, that makes no sense. That'd be like living in a Comic Book or fantasy story, and I know that's not happening... Even if the Shadows are real, this isn't a comic book. I'm no super hero, about to fly off to save the world from the Big Bad with my Special Powers..."
She was about to try seeing if she could find another door when she heard a sound in her head... Like the whispers from when she'd poked the runes, but more directed, almost intentional feeling. It sounded like... a chuckle? Did something just chuckle in her head? She shook it, startled, trying to get the weird feeling out, when it happened again, followed by a whispered "This way, my dear... this way. It's not a trick,
I promise..." Seren found herself turning her head to face a section of wall, and moved towards it. "That's right, you've almost got it..." Seren frowned a little, and found her eyes caught by a single rune in the middle of the wall. She reached out, hesitantly, and her fingers pressed against it... And a ******** GREAT BIG sword, with an odd split down the middle. But holy hell it was epic looking too! Stars, what looked like circuitry... Seren grinned, and said "Hell yes, now THIS is a weapon I can get behind!"
And again she heard a voice in her head. "I should hope so, when I went to the effort of selecting you and bringing you here to me,
Seren Yong." Seren looked around, startled, having figured that the weird directions were sent to her in some weird subsonic way and would stop once she succeeded. Instead, the voice continued. "I am Diwata. I am your Weapon, and yes, I AM talking to you. This isn't a dream, nor is it a trick. I am, or perhaps was, a Bakunawa. Now I am your partner, and you and I are going to go places. I wont allow anything less, my dear." The sword shimmered, and shifted into a necklace with a shooting star pendant, hanging from Seren's fingers. It was a lovely thing, there was no question of that. A bright gold chain, and the pendant was enameled gold with a blue center on the star, and the tail was in two shades of blue, a deep color and a bright, almost teal, blue. "Put me on, please, and we can go get you all settled in properly now." Seren slid the necklace on, with numb fingers, and made her way out of the cove, hoping SOME ONE would finally explain what the hell was going on here, because she was more confused the longer all of this insanity went on.
