Seren sighed, wishing her usual workout partner... Aka Rhys... had been available that morning, but unfortunately duty had gotten in the way and he was busy. Instead, Seren was going to have to do it all on her own. It wasn't like she couldn't do it all, she just liked the company. She ran up to the doors, and desummoned her weapon, so she could go in.
She didn't notice if anyone else was there, because normally when she was here, it was only her and Rhys, so she didn't think to look. Instead, she just went and got a mat set up, and started on her planks.

Clyde was stretching out. His scheduled got moved around for the day. The latest shipment of materials was late and he was waiting on things to get in before he could start.
Instead of lounging about on the docks, he decided to get in and extra leg set for the day. But first he needed to get warmed up, it wouldn't do him any good to pull a muscle, especially with a full day ahead of him.
It seemed that his schedule change intruded on someone else's gym time. He had seen her around but didn't know her well. Clyde stopped mid stretch and checked out her form. "You get more out of it if you spread your arms apart a little more." he commented.

Seren looked up, startled, her blue eyes very wide as she heard a completely unfamiliar man's voice, and she shifted to look to see who they were. She stared up at the man, because basically anyone she saw was up from this position, expression a little nervous and insecure. Finally, however, she said "Ah... thank you for the advice..." And shifted her arms. On the whole, she thought she had gotten it right... Rhys certainly had never corrected her on this... But for the moment, she'd take the stranger's advice.
She held it for the amount of time she usually did, then moved onto her squats next. "Um. So I'm Seren... what's your name...?" She decided to ask, figuring if he was just going to give advice, at least he was unlikely to DO anything.

Clyde went right back to stretching nearby. He noticed the nervous shuffle but didn't say anything. He didn't know her that well, and he seemed to have startled her. But Clyde loved work out buddies.
"I'm Clyde. Moon division." he causally dropped his hunter division because that's number one priority on this island. He stretched up, both arms to the ceiling and then dropped relaxing. Felt good. "Do you come here often?"

Her brows shot up at his name, and she immediately relaxed, glad to know who she was talking to. "Oh! Joy mentioned you. You're the guy that helped her out the night she and I had drinks at my room and she accidentally locked herself out." Her face became bright with friendly curiosity. "I've been wating ot meet you since then, thank you for helping her out. I was seriously worried about her, and what could have happened."
She stretched a little in her squat, and smiled at his question. "Yeah, I usually come here this time of the morning, every other day, with my..." she hesitated, then chose her words with care. "Friend Rhys. He's been showing me the ropes, what to do, so on."

Joy and her were friends? That was good, the girl needed more friends. "Yeah I came and saved her. She was pretty drunk." he chuckled a bit, remembering how loops she was when he found her. Poor girl couldn't even walk. "I haven't seen her since. She must be embarrassed, she came on strong that night. I shoved her in bed to sleep it off." he commented casually. He wasn't too bothered. It was unlike joy, but not unlike drunk people.
"Oh are you waiting for him?" he glanced to the door for her, 'friend.'

"She did...?" Seren sounded very startled by this, and her brows raised up. "She made no mention of it, so yeah she must be embarrassed. That doesn't sound like her at ALL." She pondered a little, and said "I'm glad she had a good friend, rather then some of the people out there. Huh. Might explain the way she sort oft tried to evade explaining where she had gone afterwards." She switched to her next rep, as she thought. "You think she was feeling humiliated at all, maybe, over it? I mean, Joy is so straight forwards... When she gets evasive, it's a little strange."
Seren sighed, a wistful tone that was maybe wistful about more then just this issue. "No, he had morning duties today that means he has to work out at a different time. Normally he'd come in with me."

Clyde shrugged. It wasn't like Joy, but she was drunk. People did strange things when alcohol got mixed in. "She's always a little evasive around me. But I'm a guy. And I'm hot, so girls tend to get flustered around me." he winked at her and flexed an arm, showing off his guns. "I haven't talked to her in a while. She slipped out while I was asleep that night. Which is fine. I don't want to push it." he didn't want o press something silly and hurt feelings over it. It just wasn't a big deal to him.
"Oh, nothing worst than loosing your workout buddy. Well, I'm here and would love a work out buddy. Why don't we spot each other today instead?" Clyde had no problem taking on any spotter he could get. He could do a few presses.

She arched a brow at his comment, and the 'I'm hot', with accompanying gestures, and couldn't resist laughing, and shaking her head. "Why do all the guys I meet who work out have this attitude?" She said, in a faux mournful tone. "Rhys, you... I mean, you're both prime specimens... You both have quite the muscles." Joking now. "But sorry, sugar, he's far more my type." She gave him a teasing grin, and then shrugged. "Huh. Wonder if, when sober, she has a thing for you but doesn't want to face it... I could see that, with her."
She wasn't saying the part about how she was concerned about Joy being, a little worried that maybe she was holding in more then she was showing to the world... Because that would be VERY much like Joy in Seren's experience.
At the offer, she laughed and said "I can certainly spot for you, once I'm done my workout... I don't do weight lifting, though... Or at least, not yet. Don't know if I will do. Rhys is sort of between 'workout buddy' and 'personal trainer,' really, for me... So I have no idea what the long term plan is." She continued working on her reps. It was all core-focused stuff, which would help her in the long run. "I do wonder why I ended up with a weapon that would probably, size wise, work better on tall, muscled dudes like you and Rhys..." She mused out loud, thinking about the reason she was doing all this.

Clyde flexed a few more times, for good measure. "I work hard to stay this hot. I wouldn't do it if it didn't get me results. But you know, fair enough. There are many people and many tastes. Enjoy your favorite flavor." He was confident enough in himself that he didn't need validation, but it was nice to have anyways.
"She might. I'd do her, she's very attractive. But only sober. Drunk love confessions don't count." he shrugged. "I'll let her decide what she wants from here." It wasn't that he didn't care, but Clyde never pushed for anything. He was very much a go with the flow type of person. He just had a few binding rules.
"If you have a system, you should stick to it. I'd be more than happy to show you the basic form on things if you'd like. You should start with a spot if you ever decide to do weights. it's very easy to hurt yourself. I always go for more reps and less weight when I don't have one." he liked to not be squished by the weights.
"What is your weapon then? Show and tell time." he chirped and summoned his twin guns. "I have guns. They go with my guns." he showed them off a bit. "Vanessa here is a two headed snake."

Seren snorted softly at that. "Working out isn't just about being hot, it's also about being able to stay healthy, defend yourself, and kick the asses of the ******** we've been recruited to fight." The sun trainee tossed her head, just a little, at that last bit. She had only done two REAL battles, but she knew it was what she was supposed to be doing. It felt so strangely right.
Seren snorted, and sighed. "Yeah, she's pretty hot. But I'm pretty sure she's... into a solid relationship type of thing, too. Just a feel I got from her, after that night. She didn't get what polyamory was, and that was a discussion and a half to explain." She shook her head, and sighed again. "Trying to explain how it worked, and why I wasn't cheating on one ex with the other, nor they cheating on me? A challenge." She shrugged some, and added "Pity, for her, though. She really is quite pretty. And yeah... I mean, drunk confessions can have a lot of truth to them, but... It's still wrong to do."
"Yeah... Show me how to spot, properly, actually? I've never done that before, come to think of it, and I'd hate to ******** up and get us both injured, dude."
She straightened up from her final rep, and glanced at his guns. "See? That size would have been way easier for me when I got started!" She stepped into a wide empty space, and called Diwata to her hand, leaning the ALMOST as tall as she was sword against her shoulder.

"What part of kicking a** isn't hot?" He chuckled. Those were also equally good reasons to excersize.
"Oh, is she a one person, starting from the first date type of person? I dodged that bullet." he frowned a moment. Getting into a closed relationship wasn't his style. It worked for some, and he respected that, but he couldn't imagine limiting himself to one person for rest of his life. Jealousy got into the way of a lot of things. And jealous exes were the worst. The worst. He knew, he had one once. No longer a problem with Deus, but he DID NOT want that problem here. He'd never be able to escape.
"Sounds like a tough nut. We'll have to work on her, just to give her a run down of how other types relationships work. I'm more open field myself. Not that I'm totally against settling in with one person, but that's something I'd like to agree upon later. Maybe two depending on the flow." He didn't mention gender. He didn't like to limit his field for any reason. Who knew where the flow would take you. "You sound like you got a thing going yourself."
"Spotting is easy. you just assist when I seem to be struggling. If you are worried, ask. I'm not too macho to tell you I don't need a spot. I'll show you if you want to try lifting on the bench press. We'll start on just the bar for demonstration. I'll spot you and show you what you are doing." He waved a hand at the bench press which was already loaded up with a few weights on it. He was planning to do a few reps, along with legs. But it looked like he might be able to get in more than his usual today. If she was confident enough. If not, he would start to train her, and maybe get a chance later.
Clyde laughed at the sword. "Now that is a sword. Beautiful. Not that I would trade you Van." he kissed a gun. "But I agree, fear physics can be a bit ridiculous."

"Never really thought of it that way before, myself. Just thought of it as 'something that needed doing,' so I'm not one to judge this issue." She gave a shrug, and laughed.
Seren sighed softly at that comment, knowing that, for Joy's sake, this was probably for the best. "I mean, I can't swear to it, but it's the impression I've gotten from her. I admit, the main time we spent talking about relationships was partway into the drinks, but... I remember the details pretty well." She winced some, and sighed. "Perhaps better then I'd like."
She listened to his words, and nodded a little, understanding. "Mmmm, I used to be in a triad. Her, him, me. Sadly, life said 'nope' and things ended." She gave a shrug, and did some neck stretching as she moved over to the bench press, to look at it. "I suspect I could manage being part of a couple, these days, but when I was younger, I honestly never thought that would be the case."
She smiled a little, and shrugged. "I'll happily spot you, but I'm workin' with Rhys on training. I don't want to risk messing up things by taking on too much at once... He definitely seems to have a good idea on how far to push my limits without pushing them too far." She definitely felt the burn, post workout, so she knew she was still getting benefit from the current routine. "Too many cooks and all that, after all." After de-summong Di, she moved behind the bench, to stand where she thought was best for spotting. "Just tell me what you need, and I'll help out."
"I'm quite happy with Diwata... She's a Bakunawa... Filipino legend about a dragon that wants to eat the moon, or something?" She laughed a little. "She understands Joy, when Joy is slipping between languages. It's interesting. And yeah... But I wouldn't trade her for the world, now. She's got some good heft behind her."
