Seren was standing at the edge of the sparring field, looking around to see if anyone was about. She frowned a little, not seeing anyone. "Hmmmmmmmm, damn. I'm not in a mood to destroy dummies, but I want to get some fighting practice in. Guess I don't have much choice..." She sighed and found a place that, if the rain picked back up, would be covered and tossed her jacket and scarf there so it would be out of the way. She wore her now regular training outfit of spacey themed leggings and a black tanktop with a high back, with some black jogging shoes. She sighed and headed towards the dummies, Diwata's totem in her hand. She studied them, then found the sturdiest one she could, and set it up. "Ready to get to work...?" She said to the star shaped pin in her hand, then summoned her sword.

Al watched from a bit of distance, curious at first to see what the trainee was up to. He does not recall having met them before, but no time like the present for introductions. The dog collar around his wrist shifted and morphed into a stave that he clutched tightly in his left hand, violet runes glowing faintly in the dim overcast light. He began running in her direction. It had been a while, and he was itching to shake off some of this rust. He had strange ideas of how to say hi. Aria Starstone I guess he just really wanted to preemptive attack @ that dice roll, IDE neutral

She spun at the sound of approaching running feet, startled, her large sword held between her and the incoming stranger. She stared at him, eyes wide and unnerved a little that some one was just charging straight in at her. She did note, in the back of her mind, that he looked vaguely familiar, like maybe she'd seen him around somewhere. Saliru Ahaha well it is what it is! Seren's probably gonna get her a** beat but that's ok!

He did not waste any time. As soon as he got within range, he lunged and swung his staff across her legs with all his might in an attempt to both topple her and inflict as much damage as possible. The runes glowing brighter as Nuru fed on her fear shield hungrily. Nuru delighted in the taste and had no issues relaying these sensations to his hunter, who smirked in reply. "Hello~" He crooned. Seren snarled in shock at the assault, and then yelped in pain when it connected, and hard. She staggered, but managed to stay upright, and reversed her grip, swinging for the side of her attacker, her eyes narrowed in disbelieving displeasure. No one here had been quite so insane as to just ASSAULT her without warning. She also maybe looked a little panicked at it, and her voice reflected it as she snapped "OH YES. FINE DAY." "Honestly the weather is pretty s**t if you ask me," Al pointed out before taking the full brunt of her attack with a snarl. The creature in his head became increasingly worked up with each blow to the point he was whining and pining hungrily in his thoughts. Al had every intention of feeding him and turned with her hit and swung back around to crack the dog - shaped head of his staff across her mid region. HP - 44/50 DMG - 7 CHRG - 2/3

She gave a sharp, breathless scream of pain, her eyes honestly terrified by this unknown dude attacking her. As she gasped, trying to get her air back, she reversed her previous swing, turning the blade up and over him, in a half moon, slamming it into his otherside. She wondered if she had a way out of this, before this insane b*****d killed her, and there might have been a hint of tears on her face. Quote: HP - 20/40 DMG - 6 CHRG - 2/3

Al fell backwards at the hit with a shout, it hurt yes, but weapons were amazing things and he had more than enough energy to jump right back up and resume his attack, swinging in a tilted overhead arch across her shoulder area. "Don't go quiet on me now," he said in a teasing manner before catching a quick glimpse of the look on her face and frowning deeply. "You came for a spar, did you not?" HP - 38/50 DMG - 8 CHRG - 3/3

Her eyes widened at his words, and then suddenly she got pissed off, her terror flipping hard into annoyance. "IS THAT How you normally start spars with some one who's basically a STRANGER? Just attacking them with like... No warning?" She snapped, furious. Her temper translated into her next hit, as she turned the blade so the flat slammed towards his stomach, in her most powerful attack in this battle. "SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO BE WARNED before being pulled into a spar!" Quote: HP - 12/40 DMG - 9 CHRG - 3/3

Anger, anger he could deal with and though for a split second it had seemed the fight had drained right out of him, it returned full force in the face of her indignation. The runes on his weapon blazing violet. "Yes, because you need to learn -" He let out a yelp at the hit and was thrown back by the force of it. "Hah... learn to expect the unexpected." Which was true for him too, it seemed. He had one last ace up his sleeve though, and with that pointed his weapon in Seren's direction just in time for violet flames to burst forth from the maw of his weapon and envelop her, burning away at her shield - yet not burning her. The wards would see to her safe defeat. HP - 29/50 DMG - 18 CHRG - Using Battle Cry

She was about to respond to him, when he released his charge. She slammed back, trying to avoid the ******** FLAMES, and screamed in shock when they hit her. She fell to the ground, rolling and trying to put out the flames. She was panting by the time everything stopped, and her head was lowered, staring the ground. Finally, the young woman looked up at the other person, and she said, in a flat tone, "Yeah, I know I need to be prepared. But I'm a ******** trainee, who's been out of the pod like a month. I also have issues with assault, and I'd rather say nothin' else about that. I'm still learning to deal with s**t." She closed her eyes, taking a few, slow breaths as she maneuvered herself off the ground. "I'll work on it, however. Thank you for the spar, even if you scared the hell out of me." She opened her eyes again, and that's when she recognized him as the dude she'd hugged during dares. "Huh. I remember you. I'm Seren." She looked drained, and exhausted.

Al knelt down and offered his hand to her. "Okay I get it, but there's wards here. Neither of us were in any physical danger." Emotional though... She got up on her own and he still offered his hand from where he was, but this time to shake. "I'm Al. For a scared podling, you fought well at least."

"Yeah. Intellectually, yeah I know." She sighed, as she shook his hand, then went to brush as much mud off her a** as she could. She sighed again, wistfully this time, at the mud in her hair, knowing this would be a ******** long shower after she left, but in the meantime, she refocused on Al. "For all that you scared the hell out of me, nice to meet you." She studied the guy, silently, for a long minute, curious about her erstwhile sparring partner. "Thanks, though I know I've a ways to go so I don't get killed on the frontlines." She shrugged, and added "I hope to spar again sometime? Maybe without the added shock factor? The more practice, the better and all. Anyways... Haven't seen you since Dares, how have you been?"

"Oh come on, the surprise is half the fun," He winked at her. "And that goes both ways by the way. I step onto sparring grounds and I fully expect to be jumped so don't hold back." He looked young, because he was young. Young and honestly still pretty fired up from their battle so grinning rather dopily. He was wearing a purple shirt with a black dragon design across one side and a death division coat. His scarf was nowhere to be found though so his long wavy black hair was also muddied and sticking up weirdly in places. "I've been fine. Still alive, that's what matters - right?" "You?"

She looked young, too, which matched the age she thought she was. His comment caused her to laugh a little, with low energy. "Yeeeeah I was... pretty focused on what I was doing?" She sighed, and ran her fingers through a loose lock of her long celestial ombre hair, then she swore, having put MORE mud in it. "Brilliant job, me..." She sighed and walked over to where she'd stashed her scarf and coat, the Sun division symbol flaring as she picked them up. "Being alive is good, and important. So is having fun, enjoying yourself." She turned back to face him, her blue eyes taking in his outfit, before going back to his eyes. "I've been learning this damn place, figuring out what the ******** I want to do with myself." She tilted her head, thoughtfully, and added "You're the guy who brought the booze, right?"
