Speed dating is held in one of the larger rooms in the offices area of Deus Ex Machina. It's a big, square place, but surprisingly lacking in tables and chairs - in fact, it's completely devoid of anything at all except a whiteboard, a desk at the front, and a heap of pillows and blankets that have clearly been taken from various dorm rooms and lounge spaces.
Nash sits on the desk at the front of the room, looking very pleased with himself, as he always does.
"Welcome, welcome," he says airily, waving a hand around at the room. "Please make yourselves comfortable."

A unusually large heap of pillows topple over, as Mark pokes his head out, one outstretched hand still holding onto his cellphone.
"Dude," he finally manages, wrapping the blanket over his head around his Jedi outfit like an extra bib, "Did it start yet? I told Dwight I'd be back for our weekly LuckyCam stuff."
He glances around quickly before slowly sinking back into the pillow fort, only the top half of his head visible.

Comfortable?
Kade grinned and immediately moved to sit in Nash's lap. Draping one arm around the protesting man he grinned at the pillow fort. "Nope, just in time. Early even."

Seren slid in the door, and was about to head for the largest pillow pile. However, spotting a half of a head sticking out of it, she went "NOPE." and moved to a smaller, safer stack of pillows to settle on, tucking her legs under her. She looked around, wondering who exactly was going to show up. She smiled a little, amused by the way Kade claimed the other man's lap.

Nash was attempting to shove Kade off of his lap.
"Your date is over there," he said pointedly, gesturing at Oliver before giving Mark an amused look, brows raising.
"No LuckyCam stuff," Nash informed him. "Dottie, however, would be delighted to be your date."
He gave her a wide eyed, innocent smile.

Elio had signed up because, as a rule of thumb, try everything once. There were other such rules he lived by as well such as make a mistake only twice, and don't ever do things in triplicate. Speed dating fell under those three rules perfectly well and fine so he'd signed up thinking 'why not'. Yet he'd nearly forgotten until the day of which resulted in him primping for a good 30 minutes prior to the start of the event. Nothing overtly fancy, a nice pair of slacks and button up shirt and tie. Some decent dress shoes. A nice 'date night' outfit that wasn't going to make him cry should he get called on a mission to get covered in blood or whatever. He was ready. At least he was until he arrived and realized he knew pretty much no one and- "Who is Vasily?"

Lena had signed them up and Luka didn't know if she was annoyed by it or delighted. An excuse to better orient herself with the other people of the island, especially the ones that were more her age group, was welcomed ultimately.
She kept her usual pigtails, her twin rocking her ponytail as per usual and she pushed up her glasses as she shuffled into the room, one hand laced in her sister's to give them both a bit of confidence and reassurance.
Even if things went south at least Lena would be nearby for her.
"Alright, let's see who we got matched with."

It was a miracle he was there at all, frankly; it was a miracle he even knew about it, since Vash hadn't signed himself up. One brief look, and then he'd walked away. In the end, he showed up only because he thought there might, maybe, be food. He entered the room with headphones still in, looking how he always did: stylish enough, in his way, a fancy hoodie and skinny jeans, but certainly not dressed up. In the doorway he paused, pulled out one earbud, and frowned harder. No food. Nothing to drink. Just piles of pillows. He might have walked out, had he not heard his name called at just that moment. His eyes flicked onto Elio and he was silent for just a moment before sighing and dragging himself in that direction. "Who're you..?"

Fredrick had had regrets from the moment he'd signed his name, but by then it had been too late to take it back. Of all the ways to meet people, to have picked speed dating. He was determined to make the most of it, though, and especially set on getting through it without embarrassing himself too badly. Or at all. Not at all was preferable.
So he marched into the room, resisting showing any hesitation, only to pause almost immediately to stare. He hadn't expected all the pillows and blankets. Were they expected to sleep...? Already thrown off, he looked around for another clue to how to proceed and found the list of match-ups. Alright then.
"Uh, is Seren here yet?" He scanned the others until he saw someone respond to the name and then hurried over to settle awkwardly on the floor beside the stack of pillows she'd claimed. Seriously, where were the chairs? "I'm Fredrick. Fredrick Warren. Or Freddie! If you'd rather call me that, it's uh, up to you." So much for no hesitation. He cleared his throat.
"It's nice to meet you."

This was not what he expected when he considered speed dating. Little cheap vases with one flower maybe, or even a candle in those rounded jars one small tables that forces your knees to touch uncomfortably, but not no furniture. The place looked more like slumber party or somewhere for - His eyes fell on Nash and had to wonder. GLancing around as he felt his heartbeat pick up, he casually walked past to look over at him. "October have input on the decor?" He asked, making idle conversation while also wondering if Nash was here to get paired up with people.
The only thing official was a large whiteboard with a list of names, and he hoped that Nash was at least on there just for the sake that they were on the same page instead of being known as a guy who would do speed dating. Then again, Nash knew he was single, knew he was desperate, and knew a hell of a lot more than just that about him.
Moving over, he glanced at the whiteboard and let his eyes travel down and across to see a name of someone he did not know.
"Whose Sidney?" He said, looking around.

Lysander had mostly been gunning for a free meal, but it looked like there wasn't actually any food to be found anywhere here. His bright expression wilted immediately and he couldn't help but sigh.
The match ups were posted and he noted Ros and Merric being listed in the first round but himself not quite. He wasn't sure who Sherry was and he wondered if it would have been handy to have name badges.
With a sigh he gathered up some pillows and a blanket and curled up on the floor.
Dramatic really.

IT had seemed like a good idea at the time. Henry really hadn't thought of it as dating, so much as he'd considered it an opportunity to meet more people on the island. Easier, perhaps, than happenstance. However, the closer he got to the day itself, the more nervous he seemed to be about the whole thing. He did show up though. Had even made an attempt at looking nice. His hair was combed into some semblance of a style, and he'd pulled on his single button up shirt over one of his darker tee-shirts. The only pants he had on the island were jeans, but he'd picked the ones that were the least scruffy, and had even cleaned some of the scuffs and smudges off his trainers. All in all he looked fairly presentable as he arrived at the large room. There weren't many people there yet, but apparently his first date of the evening had already shown up--Nash had pointed her out when he'd checked in. "Luka?" He smiled almost shyly as he walked up to the twins. "I guess we've been paired up. HI Lena." A smile for her as well. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. "How's it going?"

Fred showed up, cheerfully dressed in a flamboyant and carefully chosen outfit. The room wasn't what he expected but like anything else he took it in stride, checking who he was to be paired up with and hopefully waiting by the list to see if anyone else was looking for him.
He was worried they might mistake him for the other Fred. He didn't know there was another Fred.

Speed dating was an... Interesting event.
Sonja had half-expected Nash to actually have tables and the works. But she couldn't help the toothy smirk at the spread. Casual and comfy. This was going to be good.
She couldn't help herself in little a low whistle out through her mask as she approached the other and clasped a hand on his shoulder.
"Nice decor, boss." Her hip lightly tapped his before resting her hands on her hips to get a good look around.
"How you paired me with someone willin' ta put up with me?" She padded over to the whiteboard, her cloudy emerald eyes searching for her name to find her partner.
"Now... Who might this Joana be?" An infamous brow arched before she turned herself around.
