Seren had settled into the chair in the Pod Room Observation area. She did not want to be here alone tonight, but somehow she'd gotten that rotten luck. This duty was always less awful when some one else was there, and it's not like she was likely to have some one wake up on her. Right? Probably. She'd never had it happen before, so she figured she just wasn't lucky enough for that kind of excitement. She had her book, and she supposed she could go wandering through the pods, but she honestly found THAT idea disturbing. Somehow, the sleeping, motionless bodies looked like giant dolls to her, or puppets, and it... felt like something out of a horror movie, honestly. She would prefer to stay in here as long as she wasn't needed. At least she had her water bottle, so she wouldn't get thirsty. She'd forgotten to bring a snack, and was cursing herself for that. It was the stupidest thing she'd done in DAYS, cause she always found herself wanting a light snack on these long duties. Especially since she'd been working out more, lately. It was kind of nice, having a decent appetite. She looked out, over the many pods visible from where she sat, and sighed.

Going into the pod was not something that Tamika would remember. She had fallen asleep after reporting to what she was told had been the home base of Deus Ex, not knowing she'd been drugged, and from there transferred to her pod. A fairly humane way to go about things when you considered the organization on a whole but she had come willingly and so grace was given where they could manage it. That was why she was so surprised to open her eyes and realize that she was not where she last remembered being. On the front of each of the many apparatuses were vitals monitoring and her heart rate spiked with a quiet beep as the dark girl panicked for just a minute. Then the technology registered she was awake and with a low hiss it depressurized to let her free from her containment. Hesitation marked her as her head poked out but it was soon overtaken by a kind of quiet awe. Obviously this technology was far and beyond anything she'd ever come into contact with before. " Remarkable." It didn't occur to her to speak English and instead it was German that she was quietly speaking to herself in while wandering down the aisle. Getting to the end, seeing Seren, she stopped immediately. "Ah. Hello!"

Seren's face actually went a little pale for a moment when the alarm went off to notify her she had some one she was going to be the first point of contact for. It wasn't that she minded, it's that one of her great nightmares would be to <******** up somebody else's new life. However, she was up and moving into the main pod area quickly, so she was soon facing the other woman. She put a friendly smile on her face, hiding her nerves behind her very well practiced mask of calm, and said "Hello! Are you feeling alright? Do you need any immediate assistance? I know that emerging can be a difficult time, and sometimes involves not feeling well." She paused, then added "I am Seren, and I am here to assist you in any way I can, while you're adjusting initially to being out of the pod." She tried to sound professional, mature, and experienced. She probably sounded robotic, however, which did not make her feel any more comfortable.

Used to dealing with strangers and working with people who had never spent more than two seconds making eye contact, Tami could all but feel the stress radiating off of Seren as she made her introduction. It wasn't that English wasn't the girl's first language; she spoke it with an accent and cadence that was distinctly American. Tamika's English was decidedly throaty as she swapped from her native German over to their common tongue. "I'm glad someone is here!" She beamed and held out a slightly plump hand so that the two of them could politely shake. "I feel a little wobbly on my feet but I suppose that's expected. Could you tell me where I am, precisely?" She was a little prim in response to the robotic, anxious tone of Seren but that had more to do with her upbringing than anything else.

Seren took the young woman's hand and shook it, then said "Do you need assistance? I can help you to the Observation room, and you can sit down for a few minutes if you like." She lifted her clipboard, and and said "You are... somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle, as I understand it? We are on the island of Deus ex Machina, your new home and employer... and life." She sighed a little, then relaxed slightly, smiling a bit and trying to seem more like her normal self, since professional had sounded idiotic. She glanced over the clipboard, considering the situation, and finally said "Would you be Tamika Bossheart?" She thought that matched the pod she saw open, but wanted to be sure before she continued. She tilted her head, peering at the other woman with curiosity. Seren guessed they were of a similar age, but she wasn't sure... Guessing ages was NOT her best skill, she would freely admit that if asked. "I have a pamphlet to give you that you can read over, that gives more information on Deus, but I can also answer any questions you might have, to the best of my ability. Mind, I only woke up from my own pod a little over 3 months ago, so I might not know the answer. But if I do, I'll definitely answer them. Also, we need to get you to the Cove to get your weapon, shortly, but we can let you get your 'land legs' back, so to speak, first... But then straight there. It's... not safe otherwise."
