Shina's Bio
Shina is the only daughter of a wealthy merchant. Shy and quiet, Shina has tried to move beyond her polite society mask and is starting to become far more open away from the sharp tongues and petty cruelty of the wealthy. Her mother passed away when she was little, and her father has been fairly indulgent of his only child. Shina possesses a variety of somewhat odd skills as a result. Shina is a skilled rider and seamstress, both proper hobbies for a young lady, but her ability to administer basic first aid, survive in the wild, and defend herself are the result of begging her father to allow the guards to teach her such skills. Shina has also had instruction on what to do when kidnapped, which includes knowing how to pick a lock.
Shina dreams of someday being an Eevee breeder. Oddly enough, this is a perfectly acceptable aspiration for a girl of her station, as breeding rare and valuable pokemon will provide a pastime and pocket money once she has settled down with a boy of proper breeding. However, her desire to join the caravan during the Eevee swarm was considered shocking and quite improper. Proper young ladies of her station do not go on quests to capture pokemon. Rather, they ask their fathers to purchase the pokemon for them, or ask a boy who wishes to court her to bring her the pokemon as a token of interest. A girl who was very interested in pokemon might, if they were bold, ask to be sent to a pokemon academy, a girl’s boarding school that teaches both proper manners and how to care for pokemon.
When Shina asked to participate in the Eevee swarm, her Papa forbid it initially, following the advice of one of the society wives. At the advice of Mrs. Elcarl, preparations were instead made to secure a place at Arissia Academy for Young Ladies, a pokemon academy. Shina would have received an Eevee as an enrollment present from her Papa, and upon her return, Mrs. Elcarl’s son Richard would gift her an Eevee of the opposite gender. Unspoken was that Shina and Richard would begin courting, and after a year of courting, Richard would propose. Shina would be expected to accept, and a wedding would be set for a year or so later. Shina firmly refused to abide by this plan, and managed to eventually convince her father that the Elcarl’s were simply after the money the marriage would bring, as the elite old blood family had made poor business choices in the last generation.
Eventually, Shina was allowed to participate in the Eevee swarm. Because of her late start, Shina did not catch up to the rest of the group until the second evening of the trip. While Shina was not able to catch an Eevee, she did obtain her first pokemon, Rasha. While Rasha started out as a rental pokemon, Shina grew close to the Ponyta during the journey, and arranged to purchase it at the end of the trip. Now, Shina is finally going to begin her own adventures, free from the constricting rules and constant scrutiny of the world she grew up in.
Some time has passed, and Shina remains in Zatao. After traveling around for a while, Shina and Rasha stopped in Katarina for a bit, just in time to be caught up in the Jirachi event. After escaping with a new companion, Tenka the Emolga, Shina decided to fund a caravan across Zatao. Along the way she caught Annabell the Furret in the Pilkiras Plains. On the shores of the Unnamed Lake, Shina was thrilled to capture her first Eevee, Rei. Shina continued the caravan, and captured Yuki, her second Eevee and mate to Rei, outside of Motterossa. Shina was thrilled beyond belief, and spent the rest of the caravan bonding with her pokemon and getting to know her fellow trainers.
After the caravan, Shina decided to settle down for a bit, and maybe breed her Eevee. Inhinx was a bit cold for her liking, and Katarina was a bustling port city. Though a bit worried about how Rockets had once taken it over, Shina eventually decided to try settling in Motterossa. Upon arriving, she discovered that the gym leader position was open and a tournament was being held to fill the position. Shina promptly applied, and much to her shock and delight, won.
Shina's first pokemon, Rasha. While Rasha started out as a rental Ponyta, Shina couldn't stand to leave the pokemon when the Eevee swarm ended and made an offer to purchase the Ponyta. Now, Shina has a mount to carry her on her journeys across Zatao.
Shina's second pokemon, Tenka. His name means fire caused by electricity, a fitting name as he was captured in the burning kitchen of the Jirachi Mansion. He's starting out a bit standoffish, but he's slowly warming up to Shina. He thinks DJ SnowKat's Maya is the prettiest Emolga he's ever seen, and is very enamored of her. He's also big brotherly/parental towards NaomiNaomi's Diphda, a Pichu. He probably doesn't like HikerKhol's Taka, as the Arcanine treed him up a light pole.
Given to me by Renekai, thanks so much! With her, I'm going straight to having her owned by Shina. First night of the caravan Shina made the mistake of feeding her. From there, Annabell decides to follow the food, and ends up Shina's when she dives into a saddlebag in search of food and accidentally captures herself in a pokeball instead.
With the new system, I'm declared as a Gym Leader/Traveler. These classes have requirements to level up, which I will track here.
I am the Gym Leader for Motterossa
Trainer(first stage) - Trainers have some interest in battling and seek to collect gym badges that serve as a mark of their skill. There can also be more casual trainers that just seek to go on a journey to become stronger with no set goal. Trainers are free to battle gyms as well as enter contests. Advantages: N/A Disadvantages: N/A
Gym Leader(second stage) - Trainers can earn the title of gym leader through distinguishing themselves during times of crisis. Unlocked by: RP event or applications...whenever we feel like opening them Advantages: +50 HP for all pokemon you own Control over all RP aspects of a town Disadvantages: Required to open gym challenges at least once every 4 months unless you inform staff of a hiatus.
~o~O~o~
Traveler(first stage) - A traveler usually desires to explore the world, either casually or intently, with his/her pokemon. Advantages: N/A Disadvantages: N/A
Adventurer(second stage) - An adventurer is a traveler who has explored the farthest reaches of Zatao. Unlock by: RP in all 3 towns and explore 8 different locations on the Zatao map. Advantages: In battles, an adventurer's pokemon is not affected by the field disadvantages. For example, if you were fighting in a field that reduced electric type damage, your pokemon would not be hampered. Disadvantages: N/A
My progress towards becoming an Adventurer: Will primarily take place in this thread. Pages for each section will be labeled here and in the first post of the adventure RP thread.
Three Towns Progress: 2/3 Inhinx: N/A Katarina: Page 1 to 15 Motterossa: Eevee event RP
Watcher info left in for tracking purposes. Pokemon Watcher(first stage) - A watcher is a pokemon lover that generally enjoys spotting both wild and tame pokemon. Some watchers may also choose to observe and study pokemon characteristics Advantages: N/A Disadvantages: N/A
Pokemon Researcher(second stage) - A long-time watcher has enough expertise to be called a pokemon researcher. These professionals have a large base of knowledge about many different pokemon and are acknowledged as experts in their field. Unlock by: RP and interact with 50 different pokemon and 1 legendary (event RPs do not count) Advantages: Because researchers spend so much time spotting pokemon, they have an increased chance of finding a particularly interesting one. In raffle customs, researchers can get one additional raffle slot. Disadvantages: N/A

*1: Inhinx: The first settlement in Zatao, but it is quite desolate now. Rumors say that the villagers caused there own doom by giving into their greed when they discovered rich silver mines in the region. The pokemon who were forced to extract the silver for the villagers rebelled due to inhumane working conditions and the villagers were either slayed or fled.
*2: Katarina: More than a year after the discovery of Zatao, the pioneers found an ideal place for a bustling city. Located in the southeast in a large, fertile plain is Katarina. Already large, it features apartment buildings, a Pokemon Center, Hotels, Police Station, Pokemart and a large harbor. Trainers and the like arrive everyday in groups. This is where your pokemon adventure will most likely start. Gym Leader: Luna (Played by FireFoxNinetails)
*3: Motterossa: Located in Seatence valley, at the foot of the central Rinaul mountains, Motterossa is populated by people who want something more peaceful than the energetic Katarina. Small, simple abodes, chilly mountain winds, and rich scenery, await here for those looking to make a discreet living. Team Rocket used to be a large underground force in this city, but they seem to have abandoned it...for now. Gym Leader: Shina Kiremono (Played by Nanashi Kage Enjeru)
[Other Places to Explore]
Pilkiras Plain: The large grassland Katarina was built on. Usually tame Pokemon live on this soft, verdant field. There are little trees, but plenty of berry bushes that attract small Pokemon.
Rinaul Mountains: A large chain of mountains north of Katarina and extending all the way to the Zatao grasslands. Underneath this stone range, there is a lair of caves and tunnels, collectively called "Derrusk's Lair," that go from southern Rinaul to central Rinaul (near Seatence Valley).
Xine's Peak: The snow-capped, highest mountain of Rinaul, and of Zatao. A large variety of flying type pokemon are found here.
Saxukai Desert: To the south of Katarina, Saxukai is a mostly barren land.
Clockwork Wasteland: A small oasis surrounded by tall stone ridges. The sun makes the shadow of the peaks loom ominously over this fresh piece of land, where precious water and fruit can be found. There are rarely any pokemon spotted here.
Seatence Valley: Winds frequently run through this immense valley. Flowers are plentiful in this picturesque area where all sorts of small pokemon are seen. Meowths are especially fond of fishing in the stream that runs through the bed of flowers.
Howling Forest: A tightly knit gathering of trees, oddly placed in the middle of Seatence. The trees are so close together that the forest is unusually dark, which makes this place attractive to ghost Pokemon. Smalls groups of Growlithe also live in this secluded space; their howling gives this woodland its name. A while ago, a swarm of vulpix, aggravated by a passing by caravan of trainers, had set the forest ablaze. Although the trainers were able to put out the fire, charred trees in the western part of the forest serve as a reminder of what had passed.
Carona Coast: A small bay with cliffs that overlook a cold, dark ocean. A wet, violent wind blows through the coast all year.
Zatao Grasslands: The grasslands have a peaceful air. They are quiet, still, and mostly empty.
Moteore Freezeland: The southermost part of Zatao that is covered in snow year-round. Mountains dominate this landscape of frozen forests and icy lakes. Even though the climate is harsh, many pokemon still thrive in this icy winterland.
Kesfas Mountains: A long range of mountains that runs across the frozen lands of the north. They are still mostly unexplored.
Spirit Forest: The forest where Inhinx is located. The trunks of the trees are pale and fragile. Strange calls can be heard when the night draws close, but strangely, no pokemon have ever been spotted here.
The Abandoned Mines: These mines, just west of howling forest, are lit up with softly glowing pink crystals that have never been spotted anywhere else. It was rumored that a mew used to live here.

Solo RPs
Niji/Yuki and Rei
Niji froze, one paw still off the ground. The pale female jumped up, landing with both front paws on the waving head of a piece of oat-grass. Her faintly silver-frosted tail twitched playfully. She was breathtaking. Her coat was soft-looking, thick, healthy, and well-groomed. He didn’t make the conscious choice to come closer, but his paws carried him nearer anyway. Her head snapped up, and she tensed, ready for trouble. Niji froze again.
Rei was tired of hanging around the campsite. They were settled for the evening, and food wouldn’t be ready for a while. She bounded off to explore and play a bit. Out a little ways, where the sounds of the caravan faded, she playfully pounced on the heavy, bobbing head of a stalk of oat-grass. Grass rustled, and Rei looked up, prepared to battle. Oh. Another Eevee! She’d never seen markings quite like his though. They were…rather handsome. He was a little thin, but she had been too, not so long ago. He didn’t look aggressive, in fact, he seemed to be waiting for her to act. “Hello?” she tried.
“Ah, hello,” Niji managed, feeling oddly tongue-tied. “Are you from around here?” he asked, berating himself for how inane he sounded.
Rei tried not to giggle. He was nervous! It shouldn’t be so cute! “Not really. I’m just here for tonight. My human will be moving on in the morning.”
“Oh,” Niji said, disappointed. He hadn’t realized she had a human. He looked down.
“But…maybe you could show me around for tonight?” Rei suggested. He really was adorable, and she wouldn’t mind getting to know him a little.
Niji ducked his head, then looked back up. “Sure, I’d like that.”
Rei padded over to the other Eevee. “By the way, my name is Rei,” she belatedly introduced herself.
“I’m Niji. Um, there’s a really pretty flower patch over here?” he suggested.
“Oh, that sounds nice,” Rei said. The two Eevee walked off to explore the area.
Niji and Rei sat quietly, watching as the sun slipped below the horizon. The wispy clouds glowed with soft shades of pink and orange and lavender. It wasn’t a truly spectacular sunset, the clouds were too thin for a truly impressive display, but the thought was there. The flowers bobbed in the gentle breeze, scenting the air.
As the twilight darkened, Niji drooped a bit. Eventually he sighed. “I suppose you have to get back to your human now,” he said reluctantly. He had had a nice time with Rei, but she had already told him that she had a human and would be moving on in the morning. There wasn’t any point in wishing otherwise, or wishing that Rei could stay just a little longer. It was just fine, he’d had a lovely evening, and that was enough. Really. That funny feeling in his stomach was just a sign that he needed to find a little more for dinner, that was all.
“You know,” Rei said casually, “my human isn’t a bad sort.” Rei carefully didn’t look at Niji. “You could come along, if you wanted,” she offered. The tip of her tail twitched, betraying her nerves.
Niji stared at her, eyes wide. His heart thudded in his chest. “Are…are you sure?” he asked.
Rei stood, and brushed her cheek boldly against Niji’s. “I haven’t always had a human. I’m not one of those shy town-breds. Come away with me, and let’s see what happens,” she said. “I make no promises, but my human is kind, and I wouldn’t mind watching the sunset with you tomorrow.”
~
Yuki and Rei sat quietly, watching as the sun slipped below the horizon. The fluffy clouds glowed with bold swatches of bright pink, deep orange and vibrant red, purples bleeding in from above as the darkness fell. The flowers from the rooftop garden behind them scented the air, though the smell of coming rain was heavier on the wind.
After the last of the sunset faded, Rei rose. “Come on, silly, I know you have the sense to come in before the rain. We can watch the sunset again tomorrow,” she promised. Playfully giving a quick lick to Yuki’s cheek, she headed down to the gym’s inside garden. Yuki followed her, like he always would.
