Niji basked in the sun, contentedly absorbing the warm rays. The wind shushed softly through the tall grass of the field, carrying the warm scent of summer grasses through the air.
(Setting is a field of tall grass, with no particularly defining features.)

Shikari and Chiyo practiced a few hundred feet away, at first unaware of Niji. The breeze soon brought his scent, however, and being fired up from practice Chiyo whinnied a challenge to the invisible Eevee.

Hearing the challenge, Niji stood. Why not? A battle would be nice right about now. "" he called back, and revealed his location with a quickly fired Shadow Ball.

Chiyo jumped aside and launched into a Quick Attack, knowing that Shikari could not direct her the way a normal trainer would.
Shikari was a little startled at how quickly everything was happening, and since she had little to go on she decided to just offer what she could - which right now was nothing but encouragement.
"Go for it, Chiyo!" she shouted.

Niji hadn't expected his opponent to move so fast, and took the hit badly. Rolling back to his paws, he shook out his fur and darted forward, nipping at the Blitzle's legs.

Niji yelped and bounced back a few paces. It wasn't his fault that the Blitzle was so tall! Not wanting to get close after getting shocked again, Niji sent out a Shadow Ball.
