This is a trainer battle between Shina's Rasha and Kohl's Worf. Our rp was in the wilderness, so we decided to have our battle in the arena instead of the stadium. Shina is Nanashi Kage Enjeru's character, while Kohl belongs to Hiker Kohl, who is in turn a mule of SadWhiteRaven.  Rasha 800HP VS Worf 800HP

Field Information
A broad mountain stream cuts across one side of the large valley. At one side, a collection of jagged boulders splits the earth, some barely waist high, others nearly twice the height of a Ponyta. Most of the valley is nearly flat, the grassy groundcover providing little protection and few hiding places.

Shina finished removing the last of Rasha's tack and looked around. "Well girl, do your best." Rasha flicked an ear and trotted to the middle of the valley.

Worf bounces forward with no regard for the brush or broken ground that might be in the way faithfully follows that really really interesting pokemon with the flickery tail his opponent Look, it's sparkly! Wooo!!!, without needing to be told the importance of this battle, but was shouted at for being a doof was called away to receive vital intelligence before reaching the field .
Worf darted back at her irritated growl, but he continued to wiggle with excitement. She knelt, capturing his head in her hands and held him still untill he squirmed. "Listen for my orders. Watch her hooves. Fire does not taste good. Go." She released him and he bounded carelessly back out into the field. She sighed as he feinted at the Ponyta's legs again. This was starting to seem like a bad idea.

Rasha pranced away from the obnoxious puppy as he nipped at her legs. "Orders?"
At Rasha's loud whicker, Shina decided it was time to start. "Rasha! Lower its defence with Iron Tail!" ((Using the defence lowering aspect, rather than damage aspect, as we can only use one at a time))
Finally, a command! Pivoting, Rasha sent her suddenly more solid looking tail at the little pest at her hooves.

Kohl looked on amused as Worf somehow managed to fall out of harms way of the sweeping tail but the wake nicked his shoulder. "You got lucky! Keep out of range while setting up Curse!"
Oh, that move was not fun at all. The electrike's ears drooped and he shied out of the way. His paws began dragging immediately.

(( OOC Land: I have no clue if curse needs a roll. It's a stat boost, but not a stat boost? Can someone clarify? ))

Rasha stared at the Electrike as it executed its strange move. What now?
Seeing the dragging feet of the Electrike, Shina had an idea. "Rasha, let's slow that pup down some more! Hypnosis!"
Rasha's flames flickered, then started wavering in a synchronized, mesmerizing pattern.

The pup pauses. So pretty. His jaw gaps slightly, one paw frozen midstep, quivering, as he watches the shifting fire.
"Worf" She barks, "snap out of it!- even things out- Thunder Fang! Paralyze her!"
Startled, he fires a look at his trainer and launches his attack at the ponyta's ankle - a quick n** would be enough - teeth buzzing with gathering electricity.

Rasha dances away from the slowed pup. Her mane and tail flicker, growing more intense.
Shina shakes her head, and gives up on status effects for now. "Rasha, Flame Wheel!"
"Finally!" Rasha unleashes her fury. Flames spin towards the Electrike.

The pup yelped and tumbled back with the force of the fiery blow. A roll through the most morning grass extinguishes the worst of the fire, but he smell of burning fur makes even Taka cringe a little.
"Enough, shake it off. Try Mud-slap! Aim for the flames!" The hiker frowns. First blood, opponent.

Now that you bring up stat boosts, I also think that Iron Tail might count as one. Used for the defense drop it is basically tail whip, and therefore is a stat boost that doesn't need a roll. If so, then Worf's defence would be normal? Dropped from Iron Tail, boosted from Curse, to cancel out? So you would just have the +50 attack?))

[100 attack + 50 supereffective + 50 curse = 200 damage]
Rasha tried to dodge, but was only partially successful. The attack still hit hard, and Rasha stumbled.
"Rasha, use Growl! Drop his attack!"
Rasha let out an unearthly sound at the Electrike, her flames snapping angrily.

"Yes mam" he barked, and bounded over the closest bare patch of ground. Mud squelched between his toes. He looked back to verify they enemy's location and fired a vicious barrage of wet earth at her. He wasn't playing in the mud at all, really!
