Roll a Twelve: Graveyard Field: In this particular field selection, the stadium ceiling is shut tight, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness. The ordinary dirt field is swapped out for a field full of grave stones scattered across the lifeless soil. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST and DARK type attacks.

Genesis leaned back against the trainer's platform, looking down to glance at an eager but finally tiring Rattata by her side.
"This is our last battle for today, all right?" she said, nudging the small Pokémon with her show before hoisting herself up onto the platform to show there would be no discussion about it.
Leto squeaked her complaint. She wasn't tired, tired one bit! She was only panting 'cause she was hot, that was all.
But before she could make her complaints more vocal, the Stadium began to change, and she rushed to enter it. It was a graveyard this time and, admittedly, it was kind of creepy. The ceiling closed, fog rushed in, and it seemed more a place for the dead than the living.
Suddenly, she wasn't so mad about this being her last battle for the day.

Shina stepped into the stadium and shivered. "Okay, I'm glad Rasha comes with her own light source. This place is creepy," Shina muttered to herself as she took her place. Tossing Rasha's pokeball out, Shina looked around, trying to take in the details of the graveyard.

Spotting movement in the corner of her eye, Genesis glanced up to see a trainer enter the stadium, her Ponyta the sole beacon in the otherwise gloomy light. She waved, then, realizing it might be hard to make out in the fog, instead said, "Hey; looking forward to the battle."
Leto stood on her hindquarters when the steps of another reached her ears. She began to shake excitedly when she saw her opponent approach, too, for the Ponyta's fiery mane and tail made the field a little less gloomy.

"Hello the other trainer!" Shina said cheerfully. "Let's get this battle over with so we can go someplace a little less gloomy! Rasha, start us off with Iron Tail to lower her defense!" Rasha charged forward, spinning to flick her tail at the Rattata at the last moment.

"That'd be great!" Genesis replied, a hint of real, genuine honesty coloring her voice. "Return the favor! Tail Whip!"
Leto leapt towards the Ponyta as she came, but was instantly whapped to the floor by her tail. The hit against the dry, crusty soil from such a height bruised her, and it would no doubt leave her more susceptible to attacks throughout.
Upon her trainer's command, Leto spun round, as well, and began to whip her tail back and forth against the Ponyta's ankle. Admittedly, less effective, but hopefully the Ponyta would find the gesture adorable enough to lower her own defenses, or something of the sort.

Rasha looked down at the small rodent beating with it's tail. Rasha didn't realize she was doing it, but she subconciously registered the Rattata as lower threat, and lowered her defense just like Leto was hoping.
"Rasha!" Rasha looked up from her contemplation of the purple creature. "Use Low Kick!" Rasha felt a little bad for kicking the smaller pokemon, but obediently kicked out with the leg Leto had been beating with her tail.

Leto was so intent on whapping her tail that she completely missed the movement Rasha's other leg was making. In hindsight, it might have been in her best interest to keep a better eye on the position of all hooves, seeing as how they were big enough to crush her to death with one stomp.
"Watch out!" Genesis warned, but it was too late. Leto had been kicked. Frowning, she thought it best to allow Leto some safe way to recover.
"Use dig -- now!"
Leto was thrown forward by the powerful kick, and her body scraped against and rolled along the rough field as momentum carried her. Thankfully (or perhaps unluckily), a stone block stopped her, and, after some hesitation, she began digging into the dark soil and searched about for the Ponyta to attack her from below.

Rasha looked around, trying to spot the tell-tale cracks that indicated where Leto would emerge. In the low lighting, it was hard to make out detail, and the flickering shadows cast by her own flames didn't help. Over there! Too late, Rasha heard the scratching sounds of the tunneling Rattata just before clods of dirt started pummeling her. That hurt!
"Shake it off, Rasha! Use Flame Wheel!" Rasha sent flames flicking towards Leto.

The attack Leto suffered through now was much less rough, Genesis thought. Attributing it to Leto's latest move, she said, "Keep it up!"
Before Leto could bury herself again as Genesis requested, Rasha came at her. Fire licked at her sides, burning Leto in the process, although thankfully she had managed to use Dig in time to avoid serious damage. Tunneling again, she looked for spot out of the Ponyta's range of sight now to leap out and attack, instead of going for her underside again.

"Rasha, look out!" The warning came too late, as the Rattata launched another successful Dig attack. "Shake it off, Rasha! Low Kick!"

The next blow hit hard, and Leto was sent sailing across the field. It became obvious that she wouldn't stand again without medical help.
Entering the field, Genesis recalled her Pokémon, continuing on the offer the opposing trainer her hand.
"Great battle!" she said, smiling and looking at the Ponyta. "You Pokémon's really strong; it's been a while since my Rattata lost." she finished with a laugh.

Shina laughed cheerfully and shook the offered hand. "Perhaps I should have warned you that Rasha hates getting dirty? It makes her hit harder," Shina told the other trainer. "Rasha, come here, and I'll see to grooming you." Rasha trotted over, tail held high as a fiery victory banner. Rasha snuffled at the other trainer, showing no lasting irritation or ire. Shina smiled. "Fortunately, she doesn't hold a grudge very long."

Genesis smiled back, as good-natued as her opponents.
"The information may have helped," she joked. Then, with the similar, playful tone: "You've my apologies, Rasha, and can rest assured it won't happen again."
Laughing once more, she backed away, hand raised in a wave. "Well, I better get going. See you!"
