The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Zakiax entered into the arena his eyes scanning the cliffy field. At least Zue would have a bit of an advantage here. It seemed quite nice and open for his flying type to maneuver around in. The bat pokemon was in his pokeball at the belt of his trainer, Zak waited for his opponent to arrive.

Shina entered the stadium and winced. Canyon field. Rasha would be thrilled. Looking carefully at the terrain, she tossed Rasha's pokeball at a stable looking ledge.

Once he had saw that his opponent arrive he tossed out the pokeball which contained Zue and commanded. "Alright Zue Lets start off with a Confuse Ray!"

Rasha shook her heads as the world spun around her. The walls of the canyon wobbled drunkenly. "Shake it off, Rasha!" Shina called. "Start us off with Iron Tail to lower his defense!"

"Alright Zue lets now counter with a Defense Lowering move of our own. Lets hit it with a Shadow Ball!" A ball of shadow began to form in front of Zue, getting bigger with each flap before it was shot at the wobbling Ponyta.

Rasha had no hope of dodging the ball of shadow, and her defense fell. "Rasha, let's shake things up a bit! Wild Charge!" Shina called. Rasha drug a hoof through the dirt as small sparks began to chase over her body. Eyeing the bat, Rasha gathered herself.

Zak watch on the screen as the ponyta had rammed itself against the cliff side, missing Zue and damaging itself more then anything. "Zue," Zak comanded, "Lets give hit it with an Air Cutter!"

Zak winced as the electric shrouded Ponyta charged and hit his flying bat hat. He could tell Zue's strength had been drained greatly after that attack by the less frantic movement of the bat's wings. The Fire pokemon didn't seem like it was affected by Confusion anymore so Zak had to change that. "Zue, give it another Confuse Ray!"

Zue's wings moved at a slower pace and he failed to doge the electric attack once again. "Zue try another Confuse Ray!" he shouted at his pokemon, hoping it would recover and hit the Ponyta.
