Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone.
This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

"You want to get stronger, right, Tsukiya?" Pandii walked to the stadium alongside her Umbreon.
"Well, a battle is the only way." She glanced out over the field, not that there was much to see. The rocks stretched high towards the ceiling, and she couldn’t even see her opponent. In addition, the rock faces look dampened, increasing the level of danger on the field.
"Are you sure about this?" Pandii looked at her companion, who, in response, sprang into the canyons and disappeared.
"Oh, you never back down when you’re determined, Tsukiya!" She scolded the Umbreon, though he was far from range of hearing her.
Pandii walked onto the trainer’s platform, where there were screens showing her umbreon making his way through the canyons.

Shina groaned. Why was it the canyon field now? She had already signed up with Rasha, when Tenka was the one who would have really excelled in this field. Oh well. "Rasha, come out!" Rasha materialized from her pokeball on one of the many ledges and flattened her ears. She was clearly not happy with the field.

Pandii watched, as Tsukiya made his way deeper into the canyons, slowing when some parts of the field posed particularly challenging. Finally, he made his way near their opponent, and Pandii would see that it was a Ponyta.
She sighed a breath of relief. Good thing neither of them have an advantage on this field. It was going to be one awkward and difficult battle. Pandii hoped that if Tsukiya lost, it would be because of a stronger opponent, and not the canyon's slippery slopes.

Shina saw the Umbreon drawing closer to her pokemon. "Rasha, use Iron Tail!" Shina commanded. Rasha charged the Umbreon, shouldering it into the canyon wall and aiming a slap of her tail at it as she went by.

Tsukiya's defense was lowered, as he tried to right his footing on the steep cliffs.
"Tsukiya, let's try a status effect. Use Confuse Ray!" Pandii ordered.
The Umbreon released a ghostly ray of confusion at his opponent.

"Yes! It's confused! Use a Faint Attack!" Pandii didn't was to risk missing on these steep cliffs.
Tsukiya drew up close to the Ponyta and threw his whole body into his opponent's side, trying to knock her balance off.

"Even the playing field, Tsukiya! Lower it's defense with your own Iron Tail!" Pandii yelled into the microphone.
Tsukiya took advantage of the Ponyta's confusion. He hardened his tail, and dashed towards his opponent. Then, he spun around to gain momentum before swishing his tail into her hide.

Rasha staggered from the combination of the strange feeling of her defense being lowered and dizziness from crashing into the wall instead of her opponent that last Bounce. "Rasha, Double Kick!" Shina snapped. Trying to shake of her confusion, Rasha lashed out with her powerful hind hooves.

Tsukiya sprang onto a higher ledge, and out of the way of the Ponyta's hooves.
"Give it another attack with your Iron Tail!" Pandii commanded.
The dark Pokemon hardened his tail again, and pounced on the Ponyta from above.
