Rules

  1. Please follow all ToS and Soquili rules.
  2. Read ALL rules BEFORE entering.
  3. No mules (Less than 1000 posts)
  4. You need to be in a team of three to enter. You may only be part of one team. If you are struggling to find partners, feel free to ask in either the main thread or the event thread to find others in a similar situation.
  5. Do not discourage anyone else from entering.
  6. Please be creative and add your own twist on the contest. So in the interest of fairness do not steal any other teams ideas, if it is discovered you have done so intentionally your team will be disqualified.
  7. We would love to have the winners RP these pets should they win, so please keep that in mind.
  8. No chat or questions in this thread. If you have a question or concern please PM Syaoran-Puu directly. Those questions concerning everyone in general shall be added to a FAQ's section so everyone can see the answers.
  9. Should one or more members of a team win somewhere else they are no longer entitled to enter here; you can use the work already produced as a foundation to use with a replacement person, but the individual character profile should be unique to the person doing the replacing; this will likely result in some tweeking and editing of the story and plots also.
  10. You may not proxy for someone else. This event is based on the ideas YOU create for a pet YOU would like to own and RP/plot with. If found writing on behalf of someone else you and the whole team will be disqualifed.
  11. You may edit your posts, but please post the following at the top of your post every time that you do, that way we know if there have been any changes we need to look out for. It is requested that you try not to edit too often.
Edited on *insert date* because *enter reason*

  12. All of the judges decision's are final.
  13. Most importantly:: Have fun!
  14. Winning here counts as YOUR event freebie, and can not be given to someone else since the whole point of the contest is that YOU write the plots and personality for the character YOU want to keep.
  15. I reserve the right to add more rules as needed.

FAQ's

  • Cn I uze l33t or txt 2 rite?
I would rather you didn't use 'L33t' or text slang as this makes it terribly difficult to interpret and takes away from the joy of just reading an entry.
  • Is it just you, or will their be other judges?
There are a small group of judges, however their names shall remain secret.
  • Why GMT?
Sya is British. This also means you will notice a few spelling differences such as 'colour' instead of 'color'.
  • My friend is away. Can I write her stuff for her and just say she did it?
No, this would be classed as proxying for them and that is against the rules. Doing so will lead the whole team to be disqualified.
  • We've been writing this for days, but it seems another group has posted with a pretty similar idea... will we get accused of cheating?
No. If it is a genuine coincident (and it will be obvious by reading the two entries) you have nothing to worry about; if however it turns out one of the teams were cheating you risk disqualification.
  • Do the Gypsy and Sea Princess have to end up together?
Nope! The prompt is just a starting point, it is up to you and your team to decide what happens next!
  • Do RP examples have to be from soquili?
While ideally we would love to see your soquili examples if you have a soquili, we will not penalise you for links to other samples. Though they should all be on gaia. If you don't own a soquili it would be impossible to ask for soquili RP samples, so please feel free to give one or two examples from other locations/stores on gaia.
  • Are the Prince and Princess related?
This is up to you, they could be brother and sister or distant relatives. If you decide this though they will be brother and sister IC forever even if you change your mind after you win... which means no breeding between them. They do however, not have to be related. They could rule different kingdoms, or simply have different family lines. It is up to you in the end.
  • I want the Princess to have a magical power, can I?"
Due to her features, it would be possible to count her as part Ulun'suti, which would allow you to use the ability 'Splash' under the RP rules. But since she is only a half breed her magic would be very weak. Please see the RP guide for more details. Other than that, no, she can not have aditional magical abilities.
  • I want to use Greek Gods and the such in my reply, can I?
I'm afraid not, you have to keep to the normal soquili rules for this contest. Soquili is Native American Themed, but anything that is normally allowed in the store is allowed here. e.g. different languages, travelling outside of the soquili lands before coming here.... etc. They can believe in different Gods, but they shouldn't play an active role in the story since they do not exsist they can not talk or hold a discussion with a soquili.
  • I want to use X, Y, and Z characters to spice it up, can I?
Not really, the point of the contest is to tell the story of the three characters that are here; since they will be the ones to exsist after the event, while you can mention a mother, father, brother etc (much like you can in the background of any soquili) the story should focus on the three soquili up for grabs.
  • More to come.....?

A hauntingly beautiful song could be heard all across the Ocean, it seemed to draw the very waves towards it. The loneliness that lingered there was obvious... and now, it is time to tell the tale of the Sea Princess.

----------------

The Sea Princess looked out over the Ocean night after night. The ever changing world stirred something mysterious and wonderful within her, a need for freedom that couldn't be denied any longer. Of course, such emotions had only started to form since HE arrived. The Gypsy, with his handsome and confident exterior that kept so many secrets hidden from her. Each night when the darkness was thickest he would appear and sweep her off her hooves. Each night he would whisper sweet nothings into her ear, bringing her treasures and gifts from distant lands that intrigued her beyond belief. It didn't take her long to get lost to his charm... to fall haplessly in love with him. Would it last? Could it?

The Gypsy had first been drawn by curiosity. Visiting the Princess to test his skills and his charm, yet the question remains.. does he love her? Sure, he took her from her tower, showed her a world she could have only ever imagined, but was there an ulterior motive behind his actions?

The Prince has watched the Princess for many years, too shy to voice more than pleasantries to her. Too awkward to do more beyond what was considered his 'duty'. Yet as he continued to watch he saw something that disturbed him even more, a stranger visiting the Princess night after night. Her laughter filled his ears, and the smiles he had never given her lit up her face... what should the Prince do? What could he do? Presented with a moment to think what will the Prince come to realise? What does he really think of the mysterious Gypsy who seemed to charm the Princess so easily? Would the Princes 'duties' start to change?

It is up to you to tell their story!

The Princess

Username:
xxxxxx x blame it on the --- x

Soquili Name:
xxxxxx Princess Levantine Ocyien
Temper:
xxxxxx Deceptive

Personality:
xxxxxx The Mask: A caring person, Levantine knows when and where to behave. In front of her herd/kingdom, she is composed, yet nice. Strict, yet lenient. She knows that despite having to be a ruler, she should also be a friend and sister. She never wanted to let anyone in her home be harmed, as it usually causes herself to feel a sort of pain of the heart. Levantine will go out of her way in order to aid someone of her herd/kingdom, even if it means putting herself into harms way (though the guards don't usually tend to like that).

xxxxxx The Ruler: Levantine takes her position as princess as something of high regard. She refuses to let anything happen to her kingdom, even if it means having to go to war to protect it. Though there are often times that she feels lost, she always seems to pull through, sometimes by miracle. With the support of her family and all those that follow her, she has succeeded, and plans to continue to do so.

xxxxxx The Reality: Levantine isn't all she puts up. In the previous two descriptions of her personality, she is seemed as a gentle, yet firm ruler. One that everyone loves. But behind closed doors, away from her subjects, Levantine is not the nicest mare in the sea. She will do anything she can to get what she wants, even if it means harming others (Though never with their knowledge). She is very good at manipulating situations to go as she wants. Hating being on the bottom, Levantine will cheat her way into everyone's hearts to get what she wants, and when she wants it. And she knows, by fact, that it has worked thus far.

Background:
xxxxxx On a stormy night, a baby girl was born. Her name was deemed Levantine Ocyien, and she was princess of a lovely little kingdom under the sea (or a lake, but who is really counting). Being a family full of beliefs, they had a group of gypsies come into the kingdom and tell the fortune of their new baby girl. The king and queen were shocked to hear that she was going to have a fantastic life as a child, but as she matured, dark forces would twist into her being and change who she was.

xxxxxx And change she did. Levantine was a sweet girl. She took care of her younger brother as they grew, but once she started getting duties and caring for the kingdom, she became harsher toward those behind closed doors, often times snapping or demanding time to herself, away from people. She developed a great friendship with an octopus, who is often sitting on her flank, or floating along side her, giving her advice and holding up items that she could use at the time.

xxxxxx One day, she fell ill. Levantine was sick in her bed for weeks, possibly even months. During that time, she spent hours with her younger brother, speaking with him, gaining his trust. She gave him pity stories on why she acted as she did. And because they loved each other, he believed her. He told her his own little secrets, and she found that she was highly enticed, and wanted to figure out just what she could do to aid in his "secrets".

xxxxxx Would you like to know the rest of her story? Read on then, and learn of the Princess, Gypsy, and Prince.

Character Quirks:
xxxxxx She is extremely good at hiding her actual emotions and putting on mask.
xxxxxx She likes to manipulate situations to go her way.
xxxxxx She is often seen standing on the shore, staring out at the lake they live in. No one knows why.
xxxxxx Her octopus is her best friend, and she talks to him often, even if he doesn't talk back.
xxxxxx She nibbles her lip when she is in deep thought.

The Gypsy

Soquili Name:
xxxxxx Felix Felicis
Temper:
xxxxxx Fortunate

Personality:
xxxxxx The Gypsy: As a member of a herd of Gypsies, Felix is what most 'normal' or 'average' Soquili would consider odd. He speaks of hidden spirits, fate, fortune and the future. Mystical and foreign, those who are not used to him are either fascinated or scared when first encountering. What power does he hold? What can he tell me? Questions are asked in both cases, different meanings for both.

xxxxxx Everywhere he went, he tried his best to make those around him comfortable. He told stories, sung and danced and read fortunes of those who were brave enough to hear them. He was considered the spark of the herd, something that always lit up and warmed those around him.

xxxxxx The Stranger: A part of a herd that's always moving, Felix has never belonged anywhere besides that herd. He is always a stranger in a new place. Always people whisper about him, stare and are cautious. It isn't until not long before the herd moves on that people begin to warm up to him and want to make a connection beyond a customer and a Gypsy.

xxxxxx Normally, such loneliness didn't bother Felix. He had long become used to it. Was used to letting people go when he left, forgetting them to make it easier on himself. It wasn't until he met his Prince that he realised how important those connections were to him. He remembered everyone he'd ever met.

xxxxxx From that moment on, every connection he made was something he cherished greatly. The bond was as strong as anything, long lasting and his own.

xxxxxx The Lover: Around his Prince, Felix is safe. Safer than he ever felt before in his life. They share the strongest connection he's ever made and he would lay his life down for him. He allows himself to be vulnerable, knowing that no matter how weak he appears, his Prince will always love and cherish him.

Background:
xxxxxx Born into a herd of Gypsies, Felix spent most of his life traveling. As a child, his world was full of wonder and magic; constantly seeing new faces and places. But as he grew older, his memories began to blur and he found himself unable to separate them from one another. This didn't bother him, he accepted that it was part of his life and there wasn't much he could do about it.

xxxxxx Until he met the Prince. They fell in love instantly; a spark set ablaze inside the pair. It was an unusual feeling and Felix tried to run away from it at first. But the Prince was gentle and didn't push and eventually Felix gave in. After that moment, the two were inseparable and both were miserable when away from the other for too long. Felix loved the Prince more than life itself and he would gladly lay his life down for him.

xxxxxx But it seemed the Princess didn't want the best for her brother. Unknown to Felix, he fell for her tricks and almost lost his Prince in the worst possible way..

xxxxxx Would you like to know the rest of his story? Read on then, and learn of the Princess, Gypsy, and Prince.

Character Quirks:
xxxxxx He has a strong accent; kind of like a Russian accent. He ends his sentences with 'da'.
xxxxxx He has a never ending collection of stories, songs and poetry.
xxxxxx His preferred method of Fortune telling is through Tarot reading; though he sometimes uses other methods.
xxxxxx He charges a fee of stories, rather than coins and other treasures, for his services.
xxxxxx His tail swishes when he's telling a fortune.

The Prince
User Image

Username:
xxxxxx pippi18848

Soquili Name:
xxxxxx Prince Vladimir Ocyien

Temper:
xxxxxx Perfect

Personality:
xxxxxx The Prince: Much like his sister, he has his own mask that hides the true him in front of others. Though his isn't hiding things like his sister, but rather what he feels are his own flaws and things that subjects should not see a royal do. So he instead is very much the charmer. Kind, considerate, and tries to listens to others problems and sees what he can do to help. He loves everyone of the kingdom, and only wishes to be the very best for them. But yet he could never reveal his flaws.

xxxxxx The Flaws: The prince is somewhat vain. He loves his looks, loves to make sure that he is looking perfect at every second of the day. While he's not overly obsessed about it, he will feel horribly antsy and fidgety if a single hair is out of place or a single piece of dirt has landed on him. But he tries to remain calm when he's in front of others because having such minor issues would make him look bad. Would make him look like some stupid Prince who cares more for his looks than his kingdom, and he didn't want that.

xxxxxx The Perfect One: The Prince tries so hard to make sure he's perfect at everything. Even when it comes to relationships. He always tries to listen and be there for everyone. And when the Gypsy came around, he knew that was the one he wanted to be with, but he felt unworthy. He was not perfect. He was not worthy of having such a beautiful creature being his mate. And so while he appeared fine on the outside, on the inside was constant worry and fear.

Background:
xxxxxx Vladimir was always a playful foal growing up. He looked up to his older sister and in his young mind he wanted to be just like her.

xxxxxx But then, she started to be harsher towards him. And he couldn't understand it. He was lost and confused. So whenever he was away from her, he would start to make sure everything about him would be perfect. His looks, his words, his thoughts, everything, just so maybe she would go back to being the sister that he once looked up to. When the princess became sick, he was always at her side making sure that she had everything that she needed. He wanted to be the perfect brother.

xxxxxx He didn't want to lose his sister, and he felt that she would be gone forever if he didn't keep trying to be perfect. And so he tried. It exhausted him, but he found light in being with her, and an even brighter light when the Gypsy came around.

xxxxxx What would happen to the Prince who found comfort from the Gypsy's presence, if the Gypsy wasn't able to be around?

Character Quirks:
xxxxxx His front leg starts twitching if there's dirt on him, or a hair out of place.
xxxxxx Sometimes will stare off into space, deep into thought.
xxxxxx Doesn't like asking for help.
xxxxxx Wants to find the happiest paths for everyone, even those who break the law.
xxxxxx Will randomly talk to inanimate objects when he thinks he's alone.

The Story
<< Tell us the 'actual' story between these three >>

xxxx There was a lovely kingdom under the sea. Built into a cliff side, laid many different caves, all intricately designed, and decorated. Starfish and jellyfish, puffer fish and coral reefs lined the cliffs and caves, giving off soft glows and lovely intricate patterns. At the bottom most part of the cliff, was a large opening to a large cavern. Inside it was decorated even more so, lovely and almost sparkling from the designs that littered the sandy floor. Mers, Kelpi and Seathi swam around happily, some standing still as they discussed things with others. Trading shells and material for other things they could need. It was the main portion of the small kingdom.

xxxx But farther into the kingdom, laid a small cavern in the back most part of the tunnels. In here lived the royal family. And currently, residing lightly on a large shell (large enough to hold at least four fully grown Kelpi) was a soft colored mare. Her hair floated lightly in the water, her tail doing the same, shifting gently every time a light current came, or when one of the many servants passed by. She watched, with ocean blue eyes, as people flitted about, aiming to do as she asked, aiming to please. She was the princess, and she would get what she asked. Her parents had recently died of old age, leaving her and her brother orphaned. But she would not let that bother her. As soon as she found a king to be at her side, she would be able to fully relax within the realms of her sea kingdom.

xxxx "Be swift, my friend. Go find me a fortune teller of high regard. Bring him to me, and allow me to know what my future holds." She said, voice so soft that it seemed almost weak.

xxxx The octopus at her back shifted, letting a long tentacle press to her flank, before pushing off, and swimming quickly toward the main cavern, on a search of anyone that could possibly aid in his princess' desire.

xxxx After all, Princess Levantine Ocyien would not wait long for that of which she asked.

xxxxxxxxx ---------------

xxxx He laughed, staring at his group of friends as they made jokes and danced. He was easily relaxed around his herd. They were his family, after all. Moving deeper into the masses of moving bodies and colorful clothing, he grinned wider. Yes, this was his family. His head tilted, staring over his shoulder toward the large cliffs, the many caves. But his heart belonged in there. His heart belonged to another. No matter his family, his mind, he was one that usually followed what his heart said.

xxxx Turning slowly, the gypsy faced one of his companions. The colorful dolphin grinned at him, before doing a small spin in the water, an swam over. He whispered quietly in it's ear, head tilted, before giving the dolphin a light nudge with his nose. Letting out a squeak, the sea creature swam off toward the caves, his tail beating the water easily behind him. He shifted, shaking out his mane for a second, though it just caused it to float about him, before he moved forward.

xxxx "Felix Felicis?"

xxxx The voice was foreign to him. Felix turned, his eyes locking on an octopus that called out somewhat quietly. Curious, he moved forward, walking toward the creature, before lowering his head to stare into those side slitted eyes. The octopus stared back at him, and for several moments they just eyed each other. Before the octopus reached forward, circling his long tentacles around Felix's neck. Shocked, the stallion reared his head back, and took a few steps backwards, staring at the long tentacles.

xxxx "The Princess wishes to have your company.... Go to her."

xxxx Staring, Felix frowned, before he looked down at the octopus. Within a few seconds, he had pried himself off the stallion, and was once more heading back toward the caves. The gypsy snorted, before looking over his shoulder at his friends. He smiled slightly, before shaking his head, and moved forward, his hooves making slight impressions into the stone. Well, if he was going to go to the caves, the kingdom, then he would be able to see him.

xxxx "Vell zen zee princess shall see me, da?"

xxxxxxxxx ---------------

xxxx "Please, Sire. You must come down. Your sister wishes it."

xxxx He smiled, his teeth perfectly white and shiny, before nodding his head toward the small Seathi that pleaded with him. "I know, dear. And I will be down in just a moment. Some time alone, please."

xxxx The Seathi fiddled for a moment, before she bowed, and swam off. Moving quietly, the stallion looked back into the tall mirror he had built onto one of his walls. He stared at his reflection, the muscles of his shoulder twitching lightly, before he glanced down. He didn't look too bad today. At least there was that. Glancing back up, he smiled lightly, golden hair sweeping in front of his hair. He looked perfectly, so he was highly able to ensure that he felt amazingly wonderful. He looked it too. The other night he had walked the grounds with his gypsy, and it felt wonderful... But was he worthy of that man?

xxxx A dolphin came in then, letting out a small chirp and squeal, before swimming over. The dolphin whispered into his ear, telling him how the gypsy planned on coming over tonight, to sneak into the caves and see him in the darkest of hours. He smiled, nodding his head toward the dolphin, before informing it to go and tell his friend that the prince would gladly welcome the company. He shifted, looking in the mirror once more, before turning and walked down the path, his eyes locked ahead of him. If his sister wanted him so badly, he would go.

xxxx After many twists and turns, Vladimir found himself in the main room, and was floored. Down below was his sister, talking to the gypsy of which he loved. She was smiling, flirting, and he was at ease, doing so back. But Vladimir knew it was his nature to ensure that anyone was comfortable. Walking down the slope that was their staircase, and toward his sister, he moved as gracefully as he could. Felix looked up, and they locked eyes, sharing a look. But it wasn't just some little glance. And Levantine saw it.

xxxx "There you are, Vladimir. I found someone to tell my future. Come, sit with me." She said, smiling toward her brother.

xxxx Vladimir blinked, before smiling toward his sister. He nodded and moved forward, carefully laying down beside her, nuzzling the top of her head with a soft touch. Despite how she acted, he still felt close to Levantine. Felix grinned, his eyes sparkling some, before he called to the dolphin that he so lovingly had be his companion. The dolphin swam over, and from a small pouch, Felix pulled out his tarot cards. He laid them down, before taking a small step back, and bowed to the royal family.

xxxx "Princess, if you vould please choose five cards." Felix said.

xxxx Levantine blinked, her eyes locked on Felix, that flirty stare entering her gaze, before she leaned forward, and pulled five cards forward from the stack. Vladimir watched quietly, his head tilting somewhat, before he glanced up at Felix. Felix grinned, before nodding his head, and closed his eyes. He took a deep breath, his tail swaying slightly behind him, before he leaned down, and with his teeth, carefully flipped the first card, revealing it's painted front. A mare stood, blindfolded, with two swords behind her.

xxxx "Your tarot reading is of two paths, two futures. Zee first card is known as Two of Swords, and in zis case, means peace. It is the first path of which you vill take. It is a path of resolving conflict, and in zis, you vill care naught for emotions that could have little influence on the greater aspect, da."

xxxx He flipped the second card, and on it's face was a stallion, surrounded by nine golden cups.

xxxx "Zee second card is the second path you may take. It is zee Nine of Cups, or happiness. You vill be content in all your relationships; from love, to friendship, and even companionship. You vill achieve even zee most sensual of aspects of your life. You vill be full filled. Da."

xxxx Smiling lightly, and giving his ail a small swish, he flipped the third card. On it's face was a stallion dressed in fancy colors, with a carefree look on his face.

xxxx "Ahh. Zee Fool. Zis card represents that of vhich vill lead you to your first outcome. Fearlessness, imagination, and open-mindedness you vill achieve. Freedom from cares and vorries. But vith zis comes also the lack of knowledge of others around you, da."

xxxx Once more, he flipped a card. This time, it showed a handsome stallion with a sword attached to his hip.

xxxx "Zis card represents the force zat pulls you toward zee second outcome. It is known as zee Paige of Swords. It is known to hold knowledge in all that you vill do. To have clear zought and actions. You vill use logic and rightful zoughts in order to cut to zee heart of zee matter, da."

xxxx It seemed as if the room grew harshly quite. The last card had yet to be flipped. Levantine blinked, her eyes flickering up toward Felix, before at her brother. She frowned for a moment, before looking back down at the last card. So far, everything seemed so confusing, and yet so simple. Vladimir stared toward Felix, his eyes showing his discomfort, before he looked once more down at the tarots. What was the end? Flipping the card, Felix frowned, his tail stilling for a moment, before he sighed and glanced back up.

xxxx "Zee last card of your reading, Princess. Zee Five of Cups, vhich represents disappointment. Zis is the card zat represents zee factor vhich vill push you toward one of your futures. It is a suffering of a loss, being crippled by sadness or regret. Indecision by choices zat you have made. At zis time, you may suffer zee breaking of relationships zat are important to you. Hopefully, zough, zat vill not be zee case, da?"

xxxx They were all quite for a moment, before Levantine smiled, and let out a soft laugh. "Oh my! Well I do have quite a bit I must do then, don't I? You will just have to stay here with me, Mr. Felicis. In my chambers, and ensure to help me pick the right path!"

xxxx The princess fluttered her eyes at the stallion, who returned a small grin, his blue eyes flickering to look at the prince. Vladimir stared some, looking a bit pained, before forcing a smile as his sister glance at him. They all talked for a few more moments, before dispersing for the night. Felix was forced to follow Levantine to her chambers, leaving Vladimir alone for the night. It was not a good situation.

xxxx ----------

xxxx Months passed. Levantine kept the gypsy to herself, flirting, and making a sort of lover out of him. Oh, she knew of her brothers little secret, of his love for the gypsy. But she cared naught. She wanted him for herself. Their emotions were nothing to her, their views nothing but a petty little crush. She would have her stallion, and he would ensure that she was the best of all princess' in the land, even if it meant harming those closest to her.

xxxx What she didn't know, was that in the middle of the night, Felix would leave her chambers, and go to visit his prince. Both stallions were growing weak, though Felix was fantastic at hiding it. He had thinned some, but not as much compared to the one he called love. Vladimir's ribs were showing, his body looking weak, tattered. He was one that was very much so into the image that he cast on himself, and yet now he was letting his body slip away into nothing. Concerned for his prince, Felix would visit, and try to talk sense into him, but to no avail.

xxxx The princess was killing the only family she had left, and didn't even realize it.

xxxx ----------

xxxx More months passed. And on this night, a night of clear skies, she dreamed. A nightmare attacked her mind, causing her to toss and turn, to feel pain. On the side, she could see that her life was becoming perfect. She saw visions of her and her brother playing a game as foals. And then suddenly, they were adults, and he was dead. The doctors could not find a reason why he had lost his life, but he no longer breathed, no longer would play with her, and it made her sad. All she had then was the gypsy, but even he distanced himself, and eventually disappeared. And in that, she was left alone, and it frightened her, made her want to cry out for help and for someone to come to her assistance.

xxxx Levantine woke with a start, her head snapping up, body shaking. If she hadn't been under water, she would have been sweating. Felix stirred at her side, before lifting his head some, and peered at her with those blue eyes. He murmured a soft question of her status, before shifting to stand, eying her carefully. Levantine didn't respond, instead, she laid her head back down, and went to sleep, still shaking, still scared.

xxxx The next morning, she gathered the two stallions in her chambers .Levantine was scared, and on edge, and Vladimir could tell. He went to his sister, asking her if she was all right, and what he could do to help. He didn't want to lose her to the same illness that could have possibly weakened his parents. He would not lose his older sister. As much as she was paining him the past several months, he would not. He nuzzled her, kissed her forehead, tried to get her to wake up or anything. Anything that could get her to move or stand, to talk.

xxxx "Calm thyself, Vladimir. I am all right. I swear to you." She said, her voice soft. "I have had a dream... And in it, you were dead. It startled me, brother. I do not wish for you to die. I believe I was taking the fools path in harming you, and this dream... it made me realize what I was doing wrong. I do not want to lose you, I would do anything to keep you alive."

xxxx "I know. Levantine, please, lay down. We can discuss this la-"

xxxx "Do not interrupt me, Vladimir. I was taking the wrong path, and I want to remedy this. I know, and have known, of your love for Felix. I was using it against you, both of you. And for that, I am sorry. But I will no longer stay in the way. I will no longer harm either of you, and keep you apart. I do not wish to lose those I love."

xxxx The two stallions looked at each other for a moment, before back at Levantine. Felix was the first to move, shifting forward to nuzzle at the princess gentle, saying soft thank you's. Vladimir moved later, his body kind of shaking. He fell down before her, on his knees, before resting his head in front of her, and said thank you as well. She smiled, that sweet, soft smile she had as a child, and kissed both of their heads, before nodding gently and forced herself to stand, tail giving a small swish behind her.

xxxx "You have chosen zee path of zee second card, my Princess. You have chosen happiness. And I am glad for it, da." Felix said, smiling at her.

xxxx She smiled back. Hopefully, they could leave peacefully now, and in happiness. Who cared if she did not have someone to love her. That could come all in due time. For now, she was content in having her family here, to take care of and be taken care of. A queen could come later, but a sister had to come now.

xxxx Her family needed it.

Future Plots and Ideas
<< What do you plan for their future? >>

xxxx - We have a plot where the Gypsy will have to leave due to his troupe leaving. During this time, the Princess will go to bring him back.
xxxxx - We plan on the group becoming somewhat of a tight nit family after all the stress and pain they have gone through.
xxxxx - The Princess is going to dedicate one of her breedings to help her brother start a family, by breeding with the Gypsy.
xxxxx - She is going to start to heal, and become a much better person, aiding her brother and his family as a "loving aunt".
xxxxx - The Gypsy and Prince are going to live happily, and lovingly with each other.
xxxx - We are thinking that maybe as the Princess is pregnant with the Gypsy's children, that the Prince will get kidnapped/attacked by some ruffians of the under water world. Maybe have the Gypsy save him.
xxxx - We would like to have the Gypsy show the Prince that he is not just about image, but is also a wonderful person on the inside.
xxxxx - We plan to make them a "kingdom" (herd), for them to invite other aquatic Soquili into their lives.
xxxxx - All others will come as they are, unplanned plots are sometimes the best.

[[ Yes, I did an actual Tarot Reading for this. I was surprised by how much it fitted our story line. ]]

Soquili Name: Ula
Temper: Dutiful

Personality:

Dutiful: Ula puts duty first. She always sees a task through even when all strength has left her. If she is bound to something and is responsible for carrying out a task, she and only she will make sure it's done. She always works to the best of her ability. She can be depended upon to see subjects and tasks through to their finality. She will never dedicate her work to someone else. She believes that it would not be right or just to those she means to honour by asking another to carry it out. For this reason, Ula is very highly regarded in her kingdom, and is seen as a benevolent leader.

Dignified: In public eye, and in much of her private life when in the company of others, she remains calm and serene even in the most stressful situations. She is a persona to aspire to, the pinnacle of taste and elegance. She was, of course, brought up in a strong Mer household – a proud family and honour bound – she radiates this in her every motion. It is rare indeed to see this mare flustered or agitated. Far from perfect, at times she might be feeling weak, or at a loss for what to do about a situation. This is her secret.

Naive: Ula has lived a somewhat sheltered life. She has had a privileged upbringing, and is somewhat naïve to the wider world. She lives by a strong set of moral codes and finds it hard to process the fact that not everyone else lives in such a matter. Due to this, she is somewhat trusting and is easily distressed when someone breaks her trust and turns on her, or simply does something she considers immoral. She is an innocent spirit, and gets hurt easily, but she has the ability to hide it well, confessing her true feelings only to a tiny collection of friends. With time she wises to the wider world, but she is still deeply distressed by the sorrow that exists, and the harm Soquili cause one another, that often seems so meaningless and hateful.

Self Sacrificing: Sticking to a strong set of moral codes and always seeing to her duties, Ula can often put aside her personal pleasures and desires for the betterment of others. She will often go without if it means someone else of lesser standing gains something from it. On a greater scale Ula gives up practically all of her personal freedoms to be able to dedicate herself to her greatest of causes; bringing the Mer and Kelpie nations together in a mutual friendship and understanding of one another's cultural differences. She has, in her sense of duty, created a prison for herself.

Gullible: Of course, being naïve and innocent minded Ula is easily led to trust others. She takes much at face value, and it's not until much later and with a little brain power that she's realized she's been tricked. Of course she takes it well, but vows to never trust that creature again unless they work hard enough to earn it the second time around. Not to say she doesn't offer the benefit of the doubt, it's just very hard to come by.

Background:

000Ula's mother is from a high standing Kelpie household, though the household isn't that strong. Any child from the household would never be considered to be matched to the royal blood lines, in this case, Ula’s infant mother. In light of this, Ula's grandparents managed to strike an alliance with one of the strongest Mer households and made an infant match with Ula's mother and father. Ula's father therefore is Mer, pure blooded, this of course means now Ula has linked the aristocracy of both Mer and Kelpie.

Upon birth a marriage was arranged in a similar manner, though with higher sights. Ula's future mate would be Amir, the future Kelpie king. Ula's father’s household agreed to this arrangement rather that linking her to another strong Mer household in that endless and ancient dance of power stuggles.

Character Quirks:

• The octopus is called Nautica, a creature who she befriended when she was young. She leaves him in a rock pool when she has to go upon land.

• She has spent most of her time below the waves, being half Mer her fins are more developed than a normal Kelpie and she can swim deeper and stay down a little longer, though not as long as a full blooded Mer. Her tail is strong, though upon land somewhat cumbersome, she has poor 'land legs' as they refer to them amongst the Kelpie.

• Her lack of knowledge of the wider world is due to her being predominately being raised by her father's household, but also due to the fact she is so cumbersome on land and thus limiting her range.

• Her singing voice is one of her greatest gifts, though she is somewhat shy about performing. Usually the only time she'll sing on request is when asked by Amir, though later she'll sing for Tinker in private. She can often be heard singing to herself when sad, mournful or even extremely happy. She is usually only in the company of Nautica then, down on the edge of one world, entering into another... the beach.

Soquili Name: Tuatha'an "Tinker"
Temper: Beguiling

Personality:

Glib: Tinker has the ability to get what he wants through his actions alone. He has often saved his own life, cheating others out of their food to feed himself. He can speak quickly, and act fast, so that a food trade ends up profiting only him. It has, in his life as a wanderer, proved to be a valuable assert. However, it has also afforded him a fair few enemies. The world is small, and he can't avoid everyone forever. Those he has cheated often times find him, and he must speak and act faster than before to avoid injury.

Manipulative: It is a less risky move than his fast talking, but also less reliable. While talking and moving fast confuses the other soquili, sticking around to actively manipulate them allows them time to uncover his true purpose; he has more of a chance of getting caught. Because of this, he only uses this skill on very vapid victims for long term investments. Stupid soquili will never find him out and over time, even the most guarded soquili will let their walls down eventually. Thus cold calculation has created for the stallion, so many different masks that he can hardly find himself anymore. Not that he cares...

Goal oriented: Tinker tends to look far into the future, towards what he can accomplish, everything he does in the now will always add up towards his goal someday. It's why he will, sometimes employ the less reliable trick of manipulation when plain fast talking will suffice. This emotional investment will be more beneficial to him than just fast talking. Thus this trait tends to keep Tinker on track when it comes to the bigger picture. It's what makes the details more bearable, because he can see the pay off in the end. This does, however, tend to make him a little narrow sighted, he does what he needs to in order to accomplish his goals, but often misses other opportunities.

Tantalizing: Be it the rich shades of his coat, his ease with words, or his relaxed manner, Tinker is a very desirable stallion. Even others of his own sex find their hearts beating a little faster. It only ever makes them easy prey. Especially if the object of his attention is a mare. It gets to the point where, between smooth talk and charming grins, the other soquili has no idea what happened. For this reason, retribution comes a little late, and Tinker often doesn’t even remember what he’s done in the first place.

Resourceful: Tinker is able to work with what he has, and use those materials to their highest potential. This includes others. Living a life of a wanderer, it became necessary to know how to make the most of what he had. Tinker often had little as it was, and he had to make it go a long way. This has made him an easily adaptable stallion. It has aided in his cons – which only he is happy about – and helped him make smooth get aways.

Background:

000Tuatha’an was born and raised into the ‘Wandering Horses”. They’re an ancient line of horses who's origins aren’t quite clear. Only the clan leaders, and wise ones know the truth of where the herd truly came from. They are given safe passage in the oceans by those that rule there, being nomadic by nature, they never set down roots in any one place. They have become known as Gypsy's by most, however the term is often used in an offensive manner, for those that don't understand their way of life are somewhat critical of it. They live by the “Way of the Song”, never taking up weapons to fight, nor to protect themselves, they are extremists of peace. Their main purpose and focus in life is to search the world for the lost songs, that, as legend has it, will bring peace once again. No one in the herd questions this way of life, and are told as foals it’s the only way to live; to respect their elders, and to travel the world over in search of songs and tales, which hold the answer to bringing peace to the divided herds and kingdoms.

Not everyone in the herd is a singer, some have strange knacks for being able to create music, using improvised instruments, or somehow find music in riddles; everything has a beat to these gifted Soquili. The 'lost songs' aren't guaranteed to be found in song format, and over the many, many years these non musical talents, such as being able to judge a 'song' when it is not sung and simply spoken as a tale between unknowing Soquili, are passed done by word of mouth between the herd member, and some skills even seem to be genetic, naturally talented, as they say.

Tuatha'an has the ability to find the 'songs', and put them to music. He learned to keep a simple beat and could, when demand called for it, create simple instruments. This is what led him to the questions he had. He had to interpret the old languages, now rarely spoken by many herds, and stumbled into some unknown history of his herd. The clan leaders and wise ones kept a close eye on him, but no other member of the herd had his natural ability of discovering these somewhat tricky songs, and thus they could do nothing but allow him to continue his work, hoping the songs he worked on, didn't give away much of what the elders kept secret.

One night he found a 'song' imprinted in picture form on the wall of a cave, which had not been inhabited for years, though a small herd still made pilgrimage there, being a sacred site for them. The pictures depicted how his herd use to serve 'magic users', humans which seemed to have unnatural powers and practices. There was a small group within the herd which guarded objects for them, and took an interest in the activities the humans carried out, but this seemed to cause a great friction amongst the then once great and united herd. The herd had subsequently split, and the Wandering Horses herd was created, branching from those others that believed the new practices, the humans brought about, were primitive, unnatural and dealt with forces which should not be tampered with.

A find like this wasn't expected. The clan leaders and wise ones were bestowed with this wisdom because they were deemed strong enough to learn it, and had the experience to manage and govern the herd that such mistakes would never be made again, and to quell any such ideas and practices ever again. The knowledge of course, was kept from the wider herd, to stop inquisitive minds from looking into the old practices, rather than the simple life or travelling in search of songs to heal the rifts their ancestors had created. So when Tuatha'an aggressively began to question the elders about the information, he was deemed to be a threat to the herd and their present way of life, and banished.

And that is where we find Tuatha’an. After being banished he took on the nickname Tinker, and was forced to learn to survive in the ‘outside’ world. He had to learn to think quickly, and trick others because he was no longer part of the herd her had once called home, he lost the safe passage his herd was blessed with, and was ignored by the Wandering herd when he chanced across them.

Character Quirks:

• Tinker is rather bitter over matters involving his past, he dodges any questions directed at him in relation to his status in life. He lets little information slip in regards to his personal history, and even though he's banished from the Wandering Herd, he doesn't utter a word of their secrets either.

• Tinker doesn't have the ability or skill to sing, but he does relay songs to Ula, and she sings them back to him. They are strange songs, and sometimes in other languages, but when he hears them, his features soften; inwardly he becomes homesick, but the songs also remind him as to why he can never go back.

• When Tinker is just happy; which is usually because things are going his way, he will hum to himself, nothing in particular just a random little tune he's given little thought too.

Soquili Name: Amir
Temper: Contemptuous

Personality:

Confident: Amir has never had any shortage in self esteem. Be it having been brought up in royalty or simply being told ever day of his life that he was beautiful, Amir has always been confident. This has given him the empowerment to achieve his goals. It has also made him quite the catch with the ladies, seeing his confidence as strength and solidity. Some, however, are another story. Amir has a tendency to come off as arrogant with his confidence. And, to be certain, he is not arrogant. The only thing that saves him form that trait is that it is very difficult to shake Amir’s confidence, and it hasn’t been done in recent memory.

Well Spoken: Having been born into and brought up in royalty, Amir was taught how to speak effectively. He tends not to mince words or speak when it’s not necessary. Others tend to listen to him when he speaks because they know that it will not be idle prattle. He’s generally quiet beyond that. Thinking about what he’ll say next or about nothing at all. The point is, he doesn’t waste his breath with nonsense. This, however, also lends to his arrogant appearance.

Stubborn: Amir gets this trait from his mother. They both get ideas stuck in their heads and they will stop at nothing to achieve it. This has led Amir on more than a few wild goose chases, as one would imagine. Stubborn does not mean able to differentiate important from trivial. This has also, like Tinker, made Amir fairly narrow sighted. He has a goal and nothing will deter him from that goal. For this reason, Amir often passes up far greater opportunities in the wake of whatever he’s chasing.

Ruthless: Alongside his stubbornness, Amir inherited from his dear mother her ruthless spirit. It doesn’t matter how many other Amir has to crush to get what he wants, he will get it. He has gained, however as many followers as he has enemies. The weak tend to float in his devastating wake, picking up what scraps Amir did not want. He is completely indifferent to the feelings and thoughts of others, just so long as Amir gets what he wants.

Selfish: To go along with his stubborn and ruthless nature, Amir would almost have to be a selfish soquili. And he is. It’s all Amir all the time. The best way to get in his good graces – however we use the word “good” here very lightly – is to praise and fawn all over him. Not everyone likes to do this, however, and is perfectly content to stay on his hit list. It’s not like he’ll ever get around to actually getting anyone, he’s far too busy chasing after whatever it is that has caught his eye.

Background:

000Amir was born to a very powerful line of Kelpie, which has always been the reason for his horrible personality. In his early years, Amir was cared for by an army of wet nurses and governesses. They taught him how to run a kingdom, how to speak, and how to act. That wasn’t to say, however, that his mother was absent. Quite the opposite. The Queen was always at her son’s ear, whispering to him promises of what would be if he became the most powerful king in all the seas. She even proposed, at one point, expanding the realm to the land, as well. But that would be for later, after he possessed the seas. The Queen always taught her son to be patient. All good things in time, after all.

For now, Amir set his sights on the blue depths. When the age came that he made his debut, he made sure everyone knew his intentions. As a young colt, only just getting the hang of his legs, Amir promised his subjects that he would expand his realm, “by any means necessary.” It was a speech his mother drilled him into memorizing. His mind wasn’t sophisticated enough, at that point, to really understand what she meant.

And really, he didn’t truly understand until he finally grew into his own hooves. Just entering adulthood now, Amir is faced with a horrible task. He must wed – admittedly, he wasn’t pleased with his rather homely bride – in order to expand his realm as promised. He did not love her, of course, but his sights were set. By any means necessary, after all. Granted, his mother did have to beat her son into the idea. Amir was dead set against it, there had to be another way, after all. But eventually his mother got the better of him, turning his back towards the marriage that he doesn’t want and the bride he doesn’t care for. It is only the promise of a greater land that keeps him going. Dowry be damned, that was his mother's goal. Amir longs only for power.

Character Quirks:

• Amir hates stallions. No one is really certain why this is, since it's not likely he's threatened by them physically or romantically. It has also been thrown around that it's a sort of homophobic self hatred. This has also been shot down since Amir has not shown interest in any stallion either for sex or romance.

• Amir is a mamma's boy. Though he tends to put a different label on it. He calls it "being a dutiful son." The only opinions that matter are his and his mother's. In the event of a difference of opinion, Amir will always take his mother's opinion over his own. She is the only true control of the seemingly untouchable stallion.

• Beyond power, the only other thing Amir truly treasures is beauty. It is why he will, upon occasion, request his bride to sing. It is the only thing she possesses that he considers to be beautiful. After all, who can deny that voice?

The Story
The story begins to form many years ago, not many days after Ula emerges from her enchanted shell. A deal is struck up between the ruling King and Queen of the Kelpie kingdom and that of one of the strongest Mer households in the deep sea. It has long been known the relationship between Kelpie and Mer is a tender one, the Mer are generally a private race whilst the Kelpie have always struggled to find a place within either the land dwelling world or the ocean deep, being creatures crossing between both. So to bridge the often strife relationship between Mer and Kelpie, the future Queen of the Kelpie kingdom is to be half Kelpie and half Mer of strong bloodlines, she and only she, is to work with both nations to draw them together, attempting to apply a soothing balm to old wounds and scars, smoothing over relationships between nations and creating new alliances. Of course all things come at price, and the first step to diplomacy between the nations is not only the promise of a bride to bridge the gap, but also a hefty dowry, paid from the proud Mer to the lost Kelpie. Deep sea pearls, priceless pieces of coral and rare artifacts made by the Merlock people are offered as gifts, some of the artifacts depicting life below the waves, deep in the Mer world. These items are bestowed to the royal Kelpie household, and as a gesture of good faith and promising to keep to the arrangement, the Kelpie gift the Mer with fresh water reeds, a delicacy to the Mer as few Mer travel up rivers, the fresh water reeds are prized and have a wondrous taste for the Mer. The families feast and celebrate the good times ahead between the allying nations.

Some years later when Ula is becoming of age, the households prepare for the formal engagement between Ula and Amir, but no one had expected the complications which would occur. Enter, Tuatha'an AKA Tinker. Tinker comes out of nowhere and sweeps Ula off her hooves, she falls deeply in love with Tinker, he is mysterious, bringing her stories and treasures for far of places; his 'land legs' are truly developed, spending 90% of his time on land, he's travelled to places she can only dream of. This relationship comes to Amir's attention however, the cold arrogant Prince has little concerns about his future bride being stolen, he cares little for Ula, but formal meetings where he has had to spend time with Ula, he's discovered her deep sense of honour and devotion to the cause of uniting the two nations, thus he knows she'll not run off with Tinker.

Tinker is somewhat amazed at the lack of response he gets from Amir by courting his bride, which only causes him to increase his efforts to woo her, often right under Amir's nose, in plain sight, as if challenging him, but he gets no rise and Tinker begins to get frustrated, changing his focus from Ula to Amir. It is during this time Amir comes to Ula and reminds her of the betrothal and the importance of public image, after all she doesn't want to destroy everything her parents, grandparents and the other parties have done to arrange this bond. Ula promises to keep her love for Tinker under cover, and begins seeing Tinker in more secluded places.

Tinker happily stays as Ula's lover, but with her heart now belonging to him, he can turn and focus his attentions more so upon Amir. There is something about the strong cold hearted stallion he wants to crack, he sees him as a challenge, and Tinker lives for games such as this. He begins building a relationship with the Prince, it is well known that Amir has a severe dislike, almost hatred for other stallions, but he can't explain why he allows Tinker to hang about, perhaps he himself finds the Gypsy somewhat interesting in the same way Ula does, Amir after all has always been bound to court, Tinker has lived a freer life, more able to express and pursue his every whim, not bound by honour or duty. Or perhaps it's simply a little more vain, he wants to improve his own image by reinforcing he is not absorbed by clichés and can and does tolerate the company of males. Either way Amir sees Tinker as simply a mild annoyance, and allows him to simply be.

Time goes by and Ula wises up to court life, Amir, and the true terrible situation she is bound too. Ula confronts Amir, expressing her feelings; about her love for Tinker and about her concerns about Amir's true feelings towards her. Amir, being wiser in the ways of court, simply states the facts once again; Ula is duty bound to wed him, and he to her. He admits he has no feelings for her, and states that it is simply a 'business' arrangement, something, as Ula knows too, that must been done to solidify the connection between Mer and Kelpie. He lays it plain for her to see, they will marry, they will produce heirs and that will be all. Ula may keep Tinker as her lover, and Amir himself will take any other mare(s) he sees fit as a lover.

So that is the story of the Prince, Princess and Gypsy, but it doesn't end there...

Future Plots and Ideas
These plots have yet to be discussed in greater depth between us and as it stands, some may not bare any fruit, and some may of course alter slightly, but here are a few preliminary ideas and thoughts.

Feelings of Bitterness:
Older certainly not naive to court life, Ula becomes more and more bitter to her situation. Tinker spends more time playing games within the court, large and small, and seems amused by anything as long as it is in principle interesting. In turn, Ula begins playing games too. She hates every formal meeting she has with Amir to try and produce heir's. She increases her time in private with Tinker, bedding him as much as Amir. Thus when the her belly swells Amir suspects they are not his. Amir hides her from the public eye, intending to keep her out of sight until the foals are birthed. But Ula has formed her own alliances in court and with aid she escapes, coming back into public eye with her nearly fully swollen belly. She claims that she retired from her duties for a bit to save the foals as much stress as possible.

Behind closed doors, she smiles at Amir bitterly, he must now knowledge the foals as his own, or proclaim them as Tinkers. The public of course aren't naïve to the goings on in court, They may not know the details, but they know it's corrupt. The decision now rests with Amir, either to publicly announce the illegitimate foals or take them as his own. Does he follow duty, by keeping the bond strong between Mer and Kelpie, or does he risk breaking the bond.

Another possible off shoot of this plot is that Ula becomes increasingly mournful as Tinker spends less and less time at her side. She carries out her duties by reinforcing the now growing relationships between the Mer and Kelpie nations while still having to act out a loving relationship with Amir in public view and behind closed doors to attempt at producing heirs. She is duty bound, and thus she continues her life, but she becomes increasingly bitter of her situation. She keeps her eye on the horizon, hoping for someone to take her away and free her from her invisible prison.

Hidden Desires:
Tinker’s interest in Amir never escapes him, at least not whilst Amir is still besting him. There is no love lost between Amir and Ula, most of the court know that, so what is it Amir wants in life? Clearly it's not a stallion, so perhaps a gelding to fool around with? Or simply plenty of pretty mares. Maybe Amir just wants a little piece and quiet; to be rid of court life and his duties, and to simply lie around, lounging and watching the day go by. Whatever it is Tinker puts all his focus and skills into finding out. He works on his strange friendship with the future king, holding conversations for as long as Amir tolerates his company, and when Amir tires of him Tinker arranges for someone else to dig around for him.

Tinker pays mares with trinkets and promises to woo the Prince, to find out his hearts desires. But Amir is a tough nut to crack, Tinker throws all he has at him, and still doesn't find out the Prince's desire. Tinker will not stop until he finds out, so he can use it to his own personal advantage.

OCC ideas and notes:

We would like to work together, to plot out a more detailed history and the different cultural differences between the Mer kingdom and the Kelpie. What happened for them to fall out, and where the "Wandering Horses" fits into it all. Starting an interest thread for others wanting to get involved in such plots and ideas is also popular. This could of course lead to the possibility of starting a herd, first as an interest thread, aiding in the world building process, and encouraging the RP of more aquatic breeds of Soquili.

Soquili Name: Molokai le Mahina
Temper: Tempestuous

Personality:

Molokai is as tempestuous as the sea she looks over and admires each day: calm, regal, unrelenting, soothing, turbulent, ambulant, deep, perpetual, and serene.

Before the arrival of the gypsy who swept her off her hooves, she was as empty and as lonely as a clam without its pearl. She had seen the world from her tower, but it made her feel disconnected, unsure if what she was seeing was her imagination or reality. Many years of depression had settled upon the mare, her only one bright shining hope was that her betrothed, The Charming Prince Nikolai, would come charging in and whisk her away from her tower. He never came, but the hope still blossomed in her heart whenever she would gaze upon his precious gift.

Spending her life locked in a tower the princess expended her time learning about the subjects that were around her, her tutors taught her about the stars, the moon, and the tides that it moved. During those times of study and learning the princess was truly happy. She would learn as much as she could from those who were masters in their art, but soon they no longer visited the eager student princess and she drifted back into her depression.

Her morose moods improved when the gypsy stallion entered her tower after her song came to his ears; he was charming and pulled her out the darkness that was creeping into her being. He was as fresh as a sea breeze on a hot humid day, he awakened in her love for adventure and knowledge of what is out in the world. His stories gave her a breath of new life, one she never expected to have locked away in the prison that was her tower.

She had never experienced love, for how can she love someone who was never there? Her parents left her in the tower and vanished without a word; and the tutors always kept a respectable distance. Inky her pet Octopus is the only one who she ever felt true feelings for. But the sensation she began to feel differed from those she had toward her eight tentacled friend: she loved the gypsy.

When the love of her life ran away with the only possession that had ever made the mare truly happy; her depression returned but in a small amount. After her time spent with the stallion she had changed, she was no longer the wallowing childish mare who waited to be rescued, she was a princess and would rescue herself, for she was strong.

Background:

The sea kingdom was prosperous however small and it was ruled by the compassionate king and queen. Other realms were pressing upon the sea kingdom’s boarders and the rulers knew that a compromise must be composed and what was better than uniting two kingdoms with marriage? The young princess Molokai was barely out of her basket when the terms of the betrothal were set. As a promise of the bright flourishing future of the two kingdoms, a betrothal gift of great value bound the young prince and princess.

Pearls were common in the sea kingdom, since the clams readily gave up their bounty to the kind souls who cherished them, but the Pearl given to the Princess of the Sea Kingdom was different, it was truly magnificent; whenever the baby princess laid her eyes upon the precious treasure’s glossy surface her cries would subside and a lovely smile would appear on her countenance. In a rash decision to keep the young princess as pure and unblemished as the pearl she possessed, the King and Queen locked her in a tower overlooking the sea, keeping their precious gem from the darkness of the world.

Moon cycle after moon cycle passed, the tides came and went, similar to the visits the King and Queen bestowed upon their daughter, which soon diminished to nothing unlike the perpetual flow of the tide against the surf. Seclusion cloaked the young mare like a shroud; her only constant companion was the grey octopus that resided in a small pool in the tower’s floor. He was her confidant, her one and only friend; she trusted him with her most prized possession, the shimmering pearl.

But even the octopus could give her so much happiness; with an aching heart filled with loneliness she sang a melancholy song that soared across the tempestuous waters of the vast sea.

Character Quirks:

Regularly looks out to the sea and up to the moon, commenting on the ocean and its tide.

Molokai has as a weakness for octopi (she cannot help but love them with their cute little tentacles) and other sea creatures.

When stressed she bites the inside of her cheek, when lying she blinks a lot and her mouth quirks from left to right.

When bored she has the tendency to start naming all the sea life that she has on the top of her head in a sing song voice.

Usually when she is alone she thinks out loud (AKA Talks to herself)

She has one-sided conversations with her Octopus, Inky, (Since he does not tend to talk back), usually about poetry or the sea.

Soquili Name: Emilian Lovel
Temper: Unconventional

Personality:
Rules never applied to Emilian; even as a colt he was violating the laws of the land. He and his siblings were taught how to run an efficient scam as soon as their brains were able to comprehend the best ways to trick others. He was taught how to choose marks, different strategies to use, and most importantly how to evade capture. At times it would be as easy as stealing some food another had stored up, while other times it was snatching jewels from necklaces that were being worn at the time of the theft. This training served not only to make him an excellent thief but also one of quick wit, one who can make snap decisions under pressure. Equally, it helped him to acquire the skill of light footedness, he is able to move quietly and gracefully rather quickly.

He does not steal out of malice or to purposefully cause others pain, he is a thief so that he and what is left of his once proud clan may survive. He only ever takes what is needed and fights hard to avoid the slimy clutches of greed. After all, greed is what cursed his people to live the life of cutpurses in the first place. He carefully studies his mark before choosing to scam them, determining whether or not this will leave them in a horrible bind or if it is something they may overcome. Some of his family members are not as considerate as he, but this is not seen as a sign of weakness. All members of the clan respect him and he in turn respects them, they are family and he loves them dearly.

Part of Emilian’s charm is his unpredictable and altogether unconventional way of doing things. He has travelled since he was very young, seeing things that many soquili may never get the chance to. He carries with him a perpetual air of mystery which, to most mares, is exciting and dashing to a certain degree. It helps that he has the good looks to back up his charm but he does not rest solely on these. However, Emilian is not perfect; unlike many of the members of his clan he has not perfected the mask of absent emotion needed to be the best. When he is happy he is genuinely so, when he is sad he is truly hurting and he is incapable of truly hiding these things. It has gotten him caught a time or two when working a mark, to the point where he had to abandon the plan. At times it frustrates him that he cannot simply be a blank slate but one of the eldest mares in the clan convinced him not to change it. He is still unsure why but she seemed very adamant that he was meant to be different from the rest of them.

Being a Gypsy, Emilian has lived an itinerate existence since the day of his birth. Home to him is not a physical place but rather the manifestation of a feeling when surrounded by his clan. They have no one place to lay down their roots but as long as they are all together, wherever they travel is home. This makes Emilian a fiercely devoted individual. He will never leave his clan for they are the only home he has ever known. Every elder is grandmother or grandfather to him; he does not know who his true birthparents are because everyone has stepped forward to care for him and his many siblings. To any outsider it may seem a strange or sick dynamic but it is what he has come to know as reality. It brings him great joy to think that one day he may start a family of his own.

Gypsies are very careful when giving their hearts to another. It is rumored even that Gypsies cannot feel love, only lust in the heat of the moment. Emilian isn’t sure what to believe but, being a young stallion is inclined to believe the latter. The tale of the pearl being stolen has been one that has been told and retold many times to him. The part about the pearl bringing love often has him thinking if it has taken that emotion from them as far as loving outside of their clan. He has yet to find any mare who catches his eye for more than one night. He has also been told that the most important rule for a thief is that they never fall for the mark; tales of disaster only come from this. Being a young and restless male he tries not to think much on this subject but it does come up every so often.

Along with being associated with danger, and mystery Gypsies have long been connected with the arts. They are a very passionate group of individuals, expressing it through dancing (What I mean by dancing ^^ Enjoy!) and creativity. Music is within their blood whenever they hear a beat they cannot help but to move along to it. Emilian, like his ancestors, has a deep love and appreciation for art. From the beautiful colors of the sunrise and sunset to the voice of another, he finds himself enraptured. He holds nothing back and isn’t ashamed to reveal it. He is quite good at dancing as well as with words, which aids him when wooing mares. The bright colors around his eyes are evidence enough as to how the arts influence his life.

Background:
The title ‘Gypsy’ wasn’t always equated with diehard cutpurses and vandals. It used to be that being a Gypsy meant a lifetime of constant travelling, dancing, living outside of societal norms, and the classification of an outsider. They were a peaceful race, preferring the life of those immersed in nature to those who followed multiple laws and rulers. Their clans were their family and the only thing that concerned them was pleasing that family. There once was one such clan, the Kal' Enedral, that managed to travel as far as the Kawani lands, a treasure of great value being the only possession they would not barter away or lose in their folly. This treasure was called the Pearl of the World and it was rumored to bring good fortune, health, and love to those who carried it.

With this pearl the Kal’ Enedral clan never wanted for anything, they were always in good health, food was plentiful, and the road was always kind. However, as with every time of peace there must be a disturbance. The King of this new land stumbled upon these strange travelers one day and took advantage of the hospitality they so warmly offered to him. His kingdom was by no means suffering, but when he saw how well these vagabonds lived the warmth of envy and greed began to well up within him. He stayed with them through the night, dancing, eating their food, and enjoying their culture all the while wondering what brought them such good fortune. His patience and curiosity was rewarded when the elder of the clan began telling the tale of the pearl to a few foals. He had never heard of such a thing and found himself wondering if it were perhaps too good to be true when the old mare revealed the location of the wondrous item. The greedy king, betraying their trust, made off with the pearl.

With the pearl gone sickness, starvation, and hatred swept through the clan like the plague. Many died while others turned to trickery and thieving in order to survive. The once peaceful clan came to be known as the scum of the earth, a nasty black smudge on an otherwise clean backdrop. The King had unknowingly unleashed this evil of his own making upon the land. Though the pearl did as rumored the Gypsies would often steal that wealth or spread illness. Unfortunately, greed prevented the King from merely returning the pearl to its rightful owners. Generation after generation was born to this chaos, and soon much of the knowledge of what happened had corroded over time. This story had been passed from elder to elder in the Kal’ Enedral clan, finally reaching the ears of a colt named Emilian, the one who was destined to act upon its message.

Character Quirks:
Emilian has a tendency to make unwise wagers for unusual items or small amounts of gems. He has never been cheated, and he has never backed down from one of these bets but it isn’t uncommon for the trouble the action causes to outweigh the worth of the prize. It would be fair to say he has somewhat of a problem when it comes to gambling, for it is not in his nature to back down. Regardless of what happens he enjoys the sensation of adrenaline and ends up with a large smile on his face either way.

As is the tradition in his clan, whenever Emilian meets someone he raises his right foreleg, bows his head and says "sastipe" which means hello, or good luck and good health in his native tongue. When saying goodbye to someone he simply bows his head, lifts his left foreleg, and says "may the open road bring you good fortune and health." This is something that cannot be skipped, it is considered polite for the Gypsies and it would be wise to return an equally as courteous greeting.

Emilian often calls the princess "Mira Pakvora" meaning, roughly translated, “my beauty.” Though he has been raised in the Kawani lands it isn’t uncommon for him to slip into his native tongue, and he always has the accent of his clan when speaking. This makes him even more exotic than he already is, and he takes great pride in it.

He has a deep love and respect for the moon; he calls it his “pale mistress,” or his muse. He sees it as being more than a silvery rock glowing in the sky; he sees it as one would see a goddess. When looking at her he sees strength, for it is her duty to influence the tide and keep the night from becoming too dark. When feeling artistic he will often look to the moon for inspiration.

The wrap upon his head holds coins from each place he has ventured to. They hang delicately yet quite beautifully and he loves nothing more than showing them off. To him, and his clan, the wrap is a telling of his history. This is his most valuable possession and he quite enjoys telling tales about it.

He is a very proud Gypsy and he is willing to tell the tales of his ancestors to anyone willing to listen. Normally others are too frightened or wary of him to listen but when they do they find themselves enveloped in an entirely different world.

Strangely enough Emilian doesn’t get along too well with creatures of the sea, he doesn’t know what it is but they normally don’t like him. The Princess’s octopus is no exception to this law and he finds himself wanting to toss it back into the sea every time he visits her.

Emilian is very competitive when it comes to other males, call it testosterone but he does not like to be beaten. Aside from his brothers in the clan he normally doesn’t get along with other stallions.

The Prince

Soquili Name: Nikolai
Temper: Just

Personality:
Nikolai has always been the black sheep of the family. Seeing his family constantly fighting over trivial things like territory, objects, and just how much better they thought they were compared to others was what shaped him at a young age.Unlike his relatives, who let greed and selfishness consume them, he could care less about material possessions. Stuff never brought him any sort of happiness, he preferred to just enjoy nature and its peacefulness

He isn't as charming or as smooth with his words as a prince probably should be, not that he cared that much, with the exception of speaking to the beautiful princess. Normally he is not shy, merely keeping to himself most of the time. But around the princess he stammers. He cannot grasp his words properly in her presence, and deep down it's because he feels he doesn't deserve her. In his eyes she can do no wrong, he purposely tries to see the good in others, yet he sees so many flaws in himself. Them being together was only a royal formality, but he wanted it to mean much more than that. This feeling only increased once he noticed another stallion doing what he never could: Make her happy.

The prince knows he should work on his communication skills in general... but there's always tomorrow. He believes in doing what is right, and telling the truth, even if the truth hurts.

Background:
Pearls were thought to bring luck to those who kept them, and even offer the power of love. One such pearl was cherished by a family ages ago, it was their most prized possession passed down for generations to protect their loved ones. But for every individual who has happiness, another's greed seeks to destroy it. A King could see these gypsy peasants thriving and enjoying their frivolous lifestyle. Why should he, a king full of riches and glory, have to feel beneath them merely because they enjoyed life more? He sought to bring them down and put them in their rightful place. He sent his best knights to steal their precious pearl, and watched in twisted glee as they became distraught over their lost jewel. The pearl would now bring his family luck and joy. Or so he thought. An act so cruel, only put forth a curse on their family. None would have any true luck, only misfortune, until everything was set right.

Generations passed through the royal kingdom. Children were born, new kings crowned, but there was never a brightness in the family. It seemed only darkness cast over them all. Faked happiness was never, and could never be, true happiness, and no one had ever managed to find it.

The tale continues now with our young prince, Nikolai. He is different from his family members, he does not dream of being king or having riches. He merely stares out at a tower that holds the most beautiful maiden he had ever laid eyes on. He dreamed of her, and waited for the day he could look upon her beauty everyday. He just had to work up his nerve to say the right thing. Everyone else in his family seemed to have a knack for being suave and charming. Nikolai blamed it on them never having to been faced with someone such as this princess. She deserved the best. She'd already been given his family's pearl as a symbol of their betrothal, and yet he wanted to earn her love, not buy it. Especially now that someone else had been going to see her. He didn't know who the mysterious stallion was but it made his teeth grind knowing he was over there entertaining the princess.

Character Quirks:
He cannot make eye contact when he tries to lie, making him a horrible liar (mainly why he tries NOT to do it)

Very characteristic half smile, rarely fully smiles

If caught doing something silly or strange, he scratches the back of his head with his tail fin while he tries to explain (he usually can't)

He bows his head slightly when he greets people, friend or stranger

The Story

Rumors of the Princess of the Sea’s beauty had long circulated throughout the kingdom in hushed tones or fantastical stories. These tales could have no claim of truth for no one had laid eyes upon her since her presentation at birth. Little did those living within her family’s kingdom know, but along with her elegant beauty came a deep sadness which threatened to engulf her in eternal darkness. Ever since she could remember she had spent her time enveloped in jagged rocks commonly referred to as the tower. Her only view of the world outside was the white crested waves rolling languidly in the distance, motioning for her to leave her prison and find peace in their salty embrace. Even so, Molokai was duty bound to remain where her parents had placed her. They had long since abandoned her but she never gave up hope that they would one day return to her with love for their only daughter gleaming in their eyes. All of her days seemed to blend into one as she did anything she could to keep her mind off of her loneliness, an octopus named Inky being her only constant companion. He had been a gift from one of her professors, the most amazing gift she had ever received aside from the wondrous pearl she kept hidden away in a green glass orb protected by her friend.

From the day she could comprehend speech she had been informed that she was to be married to the noble prince Nikolai. She had heard from the few that came to her tower over the years of his just temper and handsome exterior. He seemed like an astonishing stallion and she often found herself fantasizing about the day she would finally be able to smile at him in greeting. These dreams of meeting Nikolai kept her from crushing darkness on many occasions, but alas, he never came. Sometimes she would peer through the jagged rock that formed her cage and see a sturdy figure in the distance, seemingly staring back at her. Her eyes would rest upon this silhouette for hours, her mind willing it to move toward her. Though her prince remained absent from her life she never stopped dreaming of the day when he would clamber up the steep rocky walls of her tower and rescue her.

The prince, unlike her parents, had not intentionally abandoned Molokai. Nikolai was everything the tales had described and more, but he was also painfully shy. Ever since the pearl had been gifted to the princess as a promise of their betrothal he had thought of how he would approach her. He would spend hours outside of her tower, gazing upward so that he may catch merely a glimpse of her beauty. Often he would listen to her melancholy melody echoing out over the landscape, a heartbreaking plea for help, and fight to gain the confidence needed to approach her and save her from her captivity. Unfortunately, every time he seemed to talk himself into it his hooves would plant themselves firmly into the ground and the courage would slowly drain from him. He wanted nothing more than to be the hero she expected, the mate she dreamed of, and the prince he knew himself to be, but something within him just would not cooperate.

Molokai was not the only one who placed her future mate upon a pedestal, Nikolai had done the same. In his eyes the princess was much like his family’s pearl that she possessed, flawless and beautiful beyond all imagining. Her voice tugged at the strings of his heart as well as the tethers of his soul, and though he had only truly met her once he found himself deeply in love. She was the symbol of his happy future, the good thing that would come out of the strange relationship with his family. The one thing Nikolai never counted on was that his days of working up confidence in order to talk to his bride to be were numbered. The reality of this situation hit him only when a shadowy figure snuck into her tower one night, and what came to pass made him realize he may lose her.

It was by complete accident that the gypsy even discovered the strange formation of rock. His clan had sent him on a mission to retrieve something that had been stolen from them long ago when he heard the most beautiful and sad song resonating hollowly through the trees. For the first time in his life the urge to dance did not surge to the surface, but instead an urge arose to see what could make such a sorrowful sound. His ears remained pricked and alert as he wound his way through the forest, his body growing heavy as the darkness of the song weighed upon him. He finally came to a stop before a formidable formation of stone. He was amazed and somewhat disturbed to find that the song was coming from within those rocks. Curiosity drove him forward as his hooves skidded and slipped over the uneven surface, his nerves finally soothed upon seeing what looked to be a cave like entrance.

The princess had been too distracted watching the enticing ocean waves to notice the brightly colored stallion making his way into her tower. She was alerted only by a gasp of surprise which had her whirling about fearfully to catch a glimpse of the intruder. For a moment her surprise was replaced by a flicker of hope as she thought that her prince had finally come to rescue her. This hope was snuffed out as she found herself looking upon what could only be described as a gypsy. Though she had never laid eyes upon one, her tutors had told her the many stories about how they had taken to tormenting the kingdom rather than becoming useful members of the herd. Poising herself for the worst she stared back at him through what she thought were hardened blue eyes.

The last thing that Emilian had expected to find hidden behind the jagged rocks was an alluring mare. He had thought that perhaps he would find a strange bird of some sort, or something stranger yet, but not this. He was unable to mask his shock and could only stare as the frightened mare turned to face him. He had heard many tales about a princess being trapped in a tower but he never thought that the stories were anything more than elaborate fiction. The reality of the situation greatly disturbed him but, bowing his head and lifting his right foreleg he issued her the traditional gypsy greeting, at a loss for any other action.

Two completely different cultures collided that night, and beneath the rays of the full moon and to the rhythm of the ocean waves a bond had begun to forge. Both, at first, had preconceived notions about the other but those barriers were soon broken down and the truth was revealed. The princess had just begun to trust in the gypsy when Inky moved a bit too quickly and caused the pearl to roll loudly within the glass orb. His interest in the sound didn’t alert her to any suspicious behavior and, with the decision to trust in him firmly in place, she told him of how she came to own such a precious gift. She even prompted her eight armed friend to pull the pearl from its hiding place so Emilian may get a better look.

When Emilian was young the elders of his clan would gather and tell stories about a mystical pearl that had once belonged to them, a pearl that provided the clan with wealth, health, and love. The time when the pearl had been possessed by his clan had been the brightest moment in their history. Alas, it had been stolen from them long before his birth by one of royal blood. The specifics were never mentioned, just that the treasure had been taken from them by one of the crown. When he was old enough the elders asked him if he may venture out in an attempt to retrieve the pearl, for they had found their champion, the one who differed from all the rest. Thinking it a fool’s errand he accepted halfheartedly, thinking of it more as a vacation than anything else. But now, as his eyes lingered on the smooth white surface peeking out from under a green tentacle he knew the stories to be true. The small round object was calling to him; he knew it to be the pearl of legend. It was at that moment he realized what he would have to do, he needed to con the mare he had just become friends with.

Nikolai watched night after night as the stranger would sneak into the tower of his future mate. At first he was furious, but upon catching a glimpse of the stallion he began to worry. It was obvious that this interloper was one of the gypsies plaguing the kingdoms. Though he believed in giving everyone the chance to prove themselves he couldn’t help but to worry about the fate of Molokai. She was naïve and susceptible to being tricked, something he knew gypsies to take advantage of. Sounds of her delighted laughter and the ceasing of her sorrowful song only served to exacerbate the issue. Not only was she possibly in physical danger, but she was also in danger of falling in love. Jealousy was a new emotion for the just prince, but the very notion of losing her spurred him into action.

Like the gypsy Nikolai began climbing to her tower, his determination keeping him from being as clumsy as the other stallion. Like the heroes in tales of old he entered her dim habitation, straightening himself up and looking more handsome than ever. Everything was going marvelously until she turned with a smile that obviously was meant for another. The smile did not leave her face but it turned from one of excitement to one of confusion. Opening his mouth he attempted to force a cohesive sentence out but only managed a few stuttering words before clearing his throat and cursing his hastiness.

Molokai knew it to be him the moment she set eyes upon his charming and sweet face. Only moments ago she had been dreaming of when Emilian would come quietly through the entrance, and now she was looking at the prince she had fantasized about since her foalhood. Her heart danced in her chest as she was finally able to put a face to the name. Even as he stuttered to speak she did not find herself disappointed, he had been everything she had imagined. Her excitement ebbed only a small amount when the sound of Emilian’s voice echoed within her mind. For the first time she was torn, between the stallion she had dreamed of and a newcomer she had only recently met. Flashing a warm smile and displaying the new confidence she had gained while speaking with the gypsy she greeted her prince just as she visualized she would.

Once the initial moment of introduction was through Nikolai found himself gaining the confidence he had always lacked. Molokai was everything he had thought she would be, and he was finally able to see that for himself. Thoughts of the gypsy were erased from his mind as he spent much of the day in the company of the princess, stuttering only occasionally as he spoke gently to her. When at first he had seen the strange stallion creeping into her tower he felt himself beginning to lose hope, but now a warm feeling began replacing it. Perhaps he would not lose her to the stallion that lurked around at night.

Nikolai was the sun and Emilian was the moon, one visiting her during the day and one visiting her during the night. Molokai’s loneliness had begun to vanish when Emilian had come to see her, but now that both were there it had all but disintegrated. Emilian would woo her with smooth words, stories of far off places, and exceptional gifts of the likes she had never seen. Nikolai would charm her without trying, he was a genuinely good soul, and somewhat of a rarity she had once been told. Her heart had never been filled with as much joy as it had in the days with her prince and her gypsy.

Alas, as history dictates, moments of peace are always disrupted with moments of sorrow. One night as Molokai sat listening to the story of an old gypsy trader and a beautiful young mare she slipped off into a deep sleep. Emilian, who had given her an herb to knock her out, went to her glass treasure box, his only obstacle being Inky. Angry yellow eyes peered up at him from within the pool of water where the octopus resided, guarding his charge. Emilian had been trained to keep his personal emotions from affecting how he did his job. Glaring back at the small creature that the princess loved so much he slammed his hoof into the water, causing the octopus to spook and slice through the water followed by a cloud of darkness. Dunking his head into the water he pulled the glass orb out, before making a hasty retreat from the tower.

Molokai awoke late the next morning to the tender nudges of Nikolai, a look of concern evident upon his countenance. Smiling up at him she brought herself to her feet and nuzzled him briefly, but was caught off guard as he stood as firm as a boulder. His eyes were planted on something across the musty space and as she followed his gaze a sense of panic filled her breast. Inky was resting forlornly in his pool, one damaged tentacle reached pathetically outward as though searching for something. Molokai’s first concern was her injured friend, but after tending to him she noticed that her pearl was gone. Nikolai allowed her to brace herself against his strong chest as she cried, not for the loss of a material item but instead for the betrayal she knew to be true. Nikolai couldn’t even lie; he was not the culprit, which left Emilian as the only viable suspect. She didn’t realize how much she had loved him until that very moment, for despite everything, she knew if he were to come back she would forgive him of it all.

Nikolai hated seeing his beloved in such a state, and he knew it was the gypsy who had caused it. He figured that with him around the stallion would be inclined to leave the princess alone, but when Molokai spoke so highly of him he decided to let it be. The prince was by no means vengeful, but a sticky black feeling toward Emilian had formed within his breast. Whatever the case, it was now his duty to care for Molokai, as he had always intended.

Something began to weigh heavily on the mind of the prince as he thought on the bleak situation. Why the pearl? He had once heard a story from his family about how it had brought them luck, and about how it may have been stolen from the gypsies, but it had never been anything but a folktale. He told the princess of his suspicions later on, even though he knew it could sway her feelings. Nikolai was an honest stallion, and he would hide nothing from Molokai.

Emilian had returned to his clan, shouts of victory and praise following him as he went. His natural pride swelled as he watched his family demonstrate a happiness that had been long since forgotten among them. But as soon as he handed the pearl off to one of the elders a deep pit opened within his chest, one so dark it nearly brought him to the ground. Confused he looked to the grandmother for help. She smiled sorrowfully and shook her head explaining that the pearl brought love as well as wealth, and it revealed in Emilian something he never thought would be possible. He had fallen in love with Molokai, but he had lied to her. He had pretended to woo her just to get close enough to the pearl in order to steal it, but it seemed now that it was less pretend than he initially thought. Grandmother told him it was now his duty to return to the princess, and with apprehensive determination he made his way slowly back to the tower.

Future Plots and Ideas

Idea: So the story is pretty cut and dry, that is why all three of us have decided that we want to rp it out should we win. We want to have the dialogue, the getting to know one another etc. It would be amazing to actually roleplay this epic romance out.

Torn: Emilian will return to the princess, but while he has been away Nikolai has been tending to her, and caring for her in a way that couldn't possibly be rivaled. Who will Molokai choose? The gypsy who betrayed her or the loyal prince who was honest with her in a moment full of lies?

Once a Thief, Always a Thief: The pearl has been returned to its rightful place among the Gypsy clan but things have not gone back to the way they were. For far too long the Gypsies have had to scrape for survival and they are hard pressed to forget their old thieving ways. Likewise, those living in the kingdom still see them as being crooks who are not to be trusted. Stealing has been the way of life for Emilian; will he so easily be able to change with the princess in his corner? What of the rest of his clan? Will things change or is the situation too far gone to be repaired? Also, can the princess accept him as a theif or will it darken her love for him?

Disowning of the Royalty: The young prince and princess must confront their parents about the wrongs that have been done. What ever happened to Molokai’s parents? The pearl is no longer in possession of the princess and in the hooves of the thieving gypsy’s, how do Nikolai’s parents react?

Not so Royal Anymore: With the decision to leave his family behind, can the prince really learn how to be a commoner? Can he fit in amongst everyone else and be happy without having his status?

Kal' Enedral Clan: Possible herd formation for the Kal’ Enedral clan. With the princess and Gypsy together how will the herd mesh? Will the kingdom have to accept the Gypsies into their herd? Or will the clan remain exclusive? Will things remain separate or will they unite?

A Lesson of Thieves: To further her education and to have a deeper understanding of the stallion that she loves, Emilian gives Molokai a lesson of life and how to protect it.

A New Beginning: After letting his love go so she could be happy, the prince looks for a new start somewhere else. Leaving his royal family behind, he seeks to find his own place out in the world. Will he find it? Will he ever learn to love again? Can anyone ever possibly try to take the princess' place in his heart? Will this new unexpected stranger weasel their way into his heart?

Last Big Score: Emilian has never known anything but thieving, he continues to tell Molokai he will change his ways after one final score, of course one final score turns into multiple final scores. It has been mentioned before that his emotions betray him at times and during one of these last scores he ends up getting into trouble, this means that Molokai will be the only one who can come to the rescue. The princess will finally be able to put the skills Emilian has taught her to the test, and prove she is no longer a naïve damsel in distress.

Death and Destruction: Even with the pearl in the control of the Gypsies, evil lurks in the shadows, hunting the Kal' Enedral Clan, slaying those who wander alone in the night. As the murders increase, the Clan elders give the pearl back to the Princess for safekeeping as they begin to search for the blood thirsty creature. With the pearl back in Molokai’s possession, the dark eyes turn their evil intent toward her. Will she be able to keep the pearl safe along with her life? Will the Prince come back to save another stallion’s love?

Distraction: With his life falling apart around him, Nikolai looks to help others as he travels farther away from the kingdom. Trying to do some good but his also having the ulterior motive be to keep his focus on positive things instead of his wrecked life.

------In the far far future, when everything is said and done and the dangers have alleviated------

A New Hope:
After all trials and tribulations, love conquers all. Throughout their journey, Emilian and Molokai know this better than anyone, for all they have experienced, their love is stronger than ever. A pleasant surprise will change both the princess’s and gypsy’s world: Molokai is pregnant. Hope blossomed, would the next generation bring with it a new change of acceptance?

--Tentative Idea--

The Pearl is just a Pearl: Molokai and Emilian come across the discovery that the Pearl does not possess any magical properties, but only had power because everyone believed it did. How will this realization affect the lives of those of the herd? History will be rewritten and confidence will be shaken.

Soquili Name: Princess Lunulata Dofleini
Temper: Ambitious

Personality:
The Manipulator
Use to getting anything she wanted, Lunulata soon discovered that being manipulative could do almost as well as being rich. By knowing exactly what words to say, and what information might be useful later—she was able to barter favours and goods for nothing but secrets. Just because no one knew about her life, didn’t mean she didn’t know about all of theirs.

The Spoiled
Born amongst riches and lavishness, she never had to do without. She always got anything she wanted no matter how petty or extravagant. Nothing was every denied her. She threw lavish parties without fail. She cared more about shallow things than anything substantial. Her greatest possessions were all of material nature, all easy disposable and easily replaceable.

The Determined
Having lost everything, she is eager to get it back and then some. Somedays, she has so little left that it’s sheer will power and dogged perseverance that gets her through. Though she seems irritable and evil at best, her heart is big for the things that she cares about—her kingdom, her riches, and her father.

The Charmer
No one can doubt that she was gifted with a silver tongue. Naturally charming, she also was able to learn to be more so. She could tell a lie as simply as the truth. Her eye for beauty and gilted words can always find some redeeming grace or quality to harp on that’s believeable

Background:
Lunulata Dolfeini was once a princess of one the most prestigious royal families. After her mother's untimely passing, her grief stricken father King Macropus Dolfleini, lost his Coral Kingdom to a well-timed attack from his enemies. The royal family was dispelled from their home, and the once magnificent kingdom was magnificent no more.

Usurped, the Dofleini’s fled to the land and the beaches boarding their homeland. Here, Macropus set up a new base and attempted to gather a following to help revolt against the King who had overthrown and banished him from his own kingdom. However, before Macropus had a chance to build a new army, the king went missing. Some mused that perhaps he had lost his courage and disappeared out of shame. Others speculate that he was taken by a skin walker in the middle of the night. Yet Lunulata knows deep within her heart that someday her father will return to her and together they will take back their home. Until then, she is determined to rule over the few followers that her father had gained and to work on re-claiming their kingdom and any other kingdom along the way.

After her father disappeared, Lunulata searched for him for days. Deep down she knew that her father was out there, collecting followers, coming up with a plan to win back their Kingdom despite the rumors otherwise. So as the days turned into weeks and then months, In an effort to show her worth, Lunulata began to rebuild what her father had lost—believing that his leaving was because he had lost faith in her. It hadn't taken her long to meet a wealthy Kalona. He had had more power than she could have imagined, and as much wealth as she could have wanted. Lunulata had worked her way into his heart, manipulating him into loving her. The scheme had gone according to plan until she had been found out by one of his slaves. When the Kalona heard, he left her. She had broken his heart, but she was only angry that she had lost her access to power. Back at square one, Lunulata returned to the beach, awaiting her father and looking for her next victim...

Character Quirks:
*Lunulata is a perfectionist. Everything must be neat and tidy and in order. If even a shell is out of place it upsets her.
*Has a secret shell collection that she has never shown anyone before.
*Can sometimes be found talking to herself or even inanimate objects.
*When Lunulata lies her ear gives a little twitch.
*She has a tendency to oversleep.
*Lunulata has a tendency to babble when she gets nervous.
*She is afraid of heights.

Soquili Name: Tobar
Temper: Phlegmatic

Personality:
The Wanderer:
Tobar is first and foremost, a wanderer at heart. He doesn’t really like to stay in one place for very long. This stems from his gypsy nature, always travelling, always moving. The world is his home, not a singular entity. He wants to travel world, meet new people, and reach a state of enlightenment with him and nature. While he travels everywhere, he does have a few favorite spots, mostly by bodies of water, especially the ocean. To him, the ocean brings a new sort of aura to his life. It’s peaceful, ever changing, and he feels a very strong connection to it.

The Spiritualist:
Tobar feels that nature is the way of life. That everything around him holds an aura, a “soul” if you will. Nature determines who is good and who is bad. Nature determines where he will go, what he will do. There is never one singular path in life. Rather, he believes that each individual is like a tree, with many branches and many paths to go down. Now where they will go along that tree path is totally up to them. Tobar feels that he wishes to go down the simple path, and will do what he can to use that simple path to reach a higher state of mind and being. The key thing is not being judgemental, and he will not judge a book by its cover. Instead he will use the guidance of the wind and his surroundings to come to a particular conclusion.

The Loyal:
The stallion feels that loyalty is key to enlightenment. So to those he meets and gets to know, he’ll take in their person, and make it a part of his own life. Once you’ve befriended him, it’s hard for him to let it go. Thus, it can hurt him later on down the road should someone use that to their advantage. On the other hand, if someone has befriended them, they’ll have a friend for life, a confidant to go to should they need someone to talk to. Like his spiritual nature, he doesn’t judge them, and will offer advice when needed.

The Healer:
Being a gypsy, Tobar is also a healer of sorts. His specialty is in spirituality. If someone is lost on their life path or is confused on which way to go, he’ll be more than happy to offer guidance. Since there are so many paths to offer Tobar will bring the most relevant ones to the forefront, explain them, and try to help the individual come to the best conclusion for themselves. He doesn’t tell someone how to respond. Rather, he allows them to mull it over in his presence, ask questions, and gain insight.

The Patient:
Overall, Tobar is pretty patient for a wandering soquili. While he travels almost constantly, if his guidance is needed, he’ll stay longer in that particular place until the individual requesting him to stay is all settled in their matters. Tobar isn’t terribly quick to anger, he sees no point in automatically getting angry at something that may or may not seem like a certain way. Instead he calculates the situation until he feels comfortable drawing his own conclusion. Depending on the others involved, this personality trait may or may not have a negative impact on the situation. It really depends on what is going on.

Background:
Tobar was born into a traveling group of soquili that called themselves gypsies. From birth he was taught that staying in one place is counter productive to creating an overall, well rounded individual that is able to live a full and wonderful life. He was taught that nature is their ruler, their guide, and by living simply and offering a means to help others is the way to reaching this enlightenment. Tobar was to learn that reaching enlightenment should be the goal of any individual. But at the same time he was not to judge anyone who did not follow this particular path. For nature had a way of either helping or hindering a soquili to life fulfillment.

Growing up, Tobar took to learning the art of spiritual healing. Where he offered his service of listening to help others and guide them in their issues. To him, it didn’t matter what those issues were. Like he was taught, he wasn’t one to judge someone just because of their life or current dealings. At first he only did a few soquili a day, mainly his best friends and close family. But soon, others began to come to him because of his patient nature and willingness to look past the pure, physical problem and look deep into the reasons as to why. So by the time he was fully grown into an adult, he had amassed a small reputation.

When he officially reached adulthood and gained the title of gypsy for himself, he was allowed the chance to go on a journey of sorts, a journey of self discovery to help him on his own spiritual path into enlightenment. As was tradition, he left on the full moon, saying goodbye to his family, and heading out into the world on his own. It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with everything around him. The world gave him a sense of purpose, a sense of meaning, and he made it his goal to visit each and every part of the lands that he could.

The changing point in his life hit him when he reached the coast of the ocean for the first time. The salty sea air filled his muzzle and lungs with a tangy new flavor he had never gotten to witness before. The soft falls of the ocean waves were like a long lost song to his ears, making his heart fill with a sense of peace and belonging. It was here that he decided to take up residence for a little while, for to him, the ocean was telling him that this was where he needed to be. It would take him a little while longer to leave, but he’d find his purpose here, and his enlightenment.

Character Quirks:

* He's terrified of the sea water crabs.
* When's he's listening very intently to someone, or something holds his interest on a very deep level, the beard fin he has starts to twitch.
* He can't swim.
* He refuses to eat fish and seaweed
* When he's deep in thought he sometimes chirps like a cricket
* He doesn't like it when others try to touch his braid

The Prince

Username: Nyx Queen of Darkness

Soquili Name: Gyoku
Temper: Honourable

Personality:
The Militarian
Gifted with an orderly mind, Gyoku has always done well in fighting. His attention to space and detail gave him an even better edge, enabling him to use his surroundings against his opponents. Through further studying, he learned how to best utilize this in large scale battles. It’s this tribute along with his boldness (almost to the point of stupidity at times) that enabled him to escape from the King’s forces time and time again. It is also for this reason that the King offered him a chance to prove his worth and earn his freedom, by teaching his men what he knows.

The Bigot
Gyoku has always lived by a certain code, almost knightly in some ways. He is inflexible on his morals and beliefs. He sees them as black and white, a line that should not be crossed. Anyone who crosses his beliefs is in danger of being looked down upon or completely ignored. Completely unforgiving in any disrespect of his code, he holds his warriors and even his family up to this standard. It is for this reason that he had a disagreement with his cousin Nori about his lifestyle choices, and left him behind. (Please note, his experiences with the Princess are going to change this aspect of him drastically, more in plots).

The Honorable
Honour is something that Gyoku thinks highly of. It was a code that he had to learn himself, after he left home since no one had really taught him about it. He holds a certain strange sense of what he believes is acceptable. He is a stallion of his word, no matter at what cost. When he makes a promise to defend you with his life—he means it wholeheartedly. Whatever promises he makes are carefully weighed before spoken and should never be taken lightly. He expects the same amount of loyalty as he gets. It is this that caused him to bond with King Chronas.

The Headstrong
Although gifted in strategy and planning, Gyoku’s baser nature sometimes gets the best of him. He is quick to react in anger, and he believes that sometimes the best way to get out of a tough situation is by sheer bravado. It’s part of the reason he challenged the whole King’s army if it meant his freedom. He can rush in without thinking, but seldom does it when he’s leading a group—which seems to ground him. It helps him to realize that he’s not the only life he’s risking.

Background:
When he was young, Gyoku left his family and set out on adventure. He was disappointed in the life choices that his cousin and best friend Nori made, so instead of inviting him along for the adventure as they had always planned--he left Nori behind without a goodbye.

On one of his wanderings, Gyoku was mistakenly identified as a spy from the Incantu Kingdom. He was able to outrun, outfight, and out maneuver the armed forces until a larger group was sent after him.

Fiesty by nature, Gyoku was cornered and captured by King Chronas. Instead of admitting defeat, Gyoku challenged the King’s entire forces if that’s what it took to gain his freedom. Through time, he forged a bond with King Chronas and decided to help him defeat their enemies. He fought whatever forces King Chronas brought forth and won every time. With each win, the king wanted the stallion by his side"During this time, Gyoku earned his freedom but decided to stay and help his friend—a decision that cost him some of the vision in his right eye, but saved his friend King Chronas’ life.

Gifted with powerful words, drive, and passion Gyoku defeated the Icantu Kingdom in honour of his King Chronas. Through hard work and near death moments, Gyoku proved himself worthy to be more than just a stallion on the line of battle. Chronas, without an heir and feeling the affects of time, selected Gyoku as the heir to his throne. Because of his allegiance, Gyoku was given the title Prince Gyoku of the Tidal Pools until the day he would become King.

And so, Gyoku helped to civilize and implement rule over the former subjects of Incatu. At first, he missed his days of wandering before he realized that maybe he had a different calling that this may be what he is meant for. After settling in, he became accustomed to things and happy. For a long time, Gyoku never realized that anything was missing into his life until…

Character Quirks:

* Charges in without thinking.
* Strong preference for fish over any other food.
* Loyalties are typically hard won, but then unfaltering. (Until he meets Lunulata)
* Has lost some vision in his far eye while defending King Chronas.
* Rigid in his beliefs to the extent of outcasting someone for theirs—ie, a bigot
* Is terrified of squids.
* Can’t see the error of his own ways.

The Story

Princess Lunulata Dofleini stood on the edge of the water as it swirled around her feet. She’d been waiting for a year for her father to return—he would come back to her, he would never leave her alone. She knew that he was out doing what was best to get their kingdom back, and she in turn was doing her best. She just used…different assets than her father.

If you were smart, you used guile. If you were strong then you used brawn. If you were pretty you used that to get ahead, but when you were blessed with more than one that’s where the real fun began. She was smart and beautiful, a deadly combination since most though in clichés—because she was beautiful, she was simple. How wrong they were. Oh, how wrong…

She wiped the sinister smile off of her face, knowing that Tobar would be there soon. It would never do for him to find her looking anything other than wistful and kind in his presence. She’d strung him along for this long after all.

It was easy to seduce him, almost too easy to remind him of the trades he used to make with her father or the way her father had forbidden Tobar from making advances on her, not that she cared. But apparently, he’d been nursing a crush on her during the time they’d spent apart. It’d been easy to convince him that she cared for him too, after all a stallion will believe anything he wants to hear.

In the short weeks, she’d known him and Prince Gyoku she’d kept them separate. They were two different wells to be tapped. As long as one didn’t know about the other, she was good. The Prince thought of her as a lowly, but exiled Princess while Tobar believed her kingdom was still in tact. After all, if he didn’t’ he wouldn’t be making all those trades with her for goods she hadn’t had for over a year…

She could hear his footsteps coming up behind her, but she pretended as though she didn’t hear him.

The morning that Tobar woke up he automatically knew something was off. From the swaying of the trees in the wind to the subtle shift in the sunlight, he knew something was happening today, that something was wrong. The thing was, he wasn’t quite sure yet what it actually pertained to, so he kept up his normal routine until nature told him to act otherwise. For to do the opposite would upset the delicate balance that he had given himself over the course of the past few weeks. It was something that he wasn’t exactly used to; normally he would be gone within one week maximum, but recently he had come into a life he knew little of, royalty.

He had met the princess shortly after leaving his home. Compared to all others he had met in his lifetime she was something he had never laid eyes on. From the pink color of her coat to the squid like creature on her back, she was everything that he had wanted to experience. In some respects it was love at first sight. But alas, her father, lord of the land in which he currently resided in, had forbidden any sort of advances he might have come forth with. Apparently, when it came to royalty at least, blood was thicker than any wine. Tobar knew little of court life, but he opted to not argue. Neither did the lord’s daughter, at least, so he thought.

It surprised him greatly when Lunulata showed up at his small home that night. She wanted to be with him, wanted him to show her the world, and the world he came from. She was apparently entranced by his lifestyle, asking so many questions he was surely shocked that she knew so little of the world outside of her own. But he more than happily obliged her curiosity and she in turn told him of her own life. They were like two peas in a pod, complimenting each other perfectly. It made him quite happy. So when she asked him one morning to make a few trades with her, he consented quickly, happy to share anything that he had to offer her.

As it was, he had little time to think about his fortunes currently, for by midmorning, a messenger from his home in the forest had come into his presence. Apparently an outbreak of some sort of sickness had started to spread through his home. His father had already fallen ill with the disease and they were not sure how much longer he would last should a cure not be found. The messenger came asking for Tobar to return to his people, to help them through this, guide them, and give them hope. For his part Tobar could do nothing but agree. For family came first for Romani and always would. It wasn’t until after the messenger left with Tobar’s reply did the stallion realize that he would have to leave Lunulata for a while. It made his heart ache.

So, with a heavy heart he made his way towards their meeting place, wondering exactly how he was going to explain all of this to her. He didn’t want to leave her, but alas he had no choice. His family needed him and he needed his family. Hopefully, she would understand and support the decision he made to return.

Coming out into the clearing and down the rocks he spotted her familiar form down by the water, the waves crashing softly against her hooves. She was truly a beautiful creature to behold. A part of him wished he could take an image of her back to his home so he could show the others of her beauty. But unfortunately stories would have to do for now.

Lunulata turned, as if she was surprised to see Tobar. “You came!” She nearly shouted as she ran to him, a soft blush going over her cheeks. Pressing her face into his neck she let the smile vanish a minute. He had looked radiant and happy to see her, though a little sad. Was he catching on? Did he know something?

She pushed the thought away as she backed up and stared into his eyes. He didn’t know, she could see it clearly. He didn’t suspect or know or whatever. She doubted he would suspect his sweet little mare to have the brains or drive to be so deceitful.

Her face faltered and her eyes brimmed with tears at the look on his face. It was easy to bring on the tears after years of practice, she could practically cry on command now. “What’s the matter Tobar? You look so upset…” She sniffed a little as if she was truly upset. “Have I done…something wrong?” She glanced up into his eyes, and then back down as her traitorous ear gave a little flick. Luckily, he hadn’t caught on.

“No ves’tacha,” Tobar answered her softly, “you have done nothing of the sort. I just fear that I have some not so good news to tell you today.”

She gave him a questioning look and he continued onward, “a messenger came to me this morning from my people.”

An icy feeling ran down the back of her neck, and it was everything she could do to keep her mask in place. She ducked her head to hide her face before she gave anything away, “You’re leaving me?” She let her bottom lip quiver. “I hoped you wouldn’t…I hoped…” She squeezed her eyes, making the tears roll down her face as her brain raced. How could she keep him here? How could she make him stay? She had a good grasp on him, there was still so much to be gained from him!

Tobar grimaced as he watched her shiver below him. He hated to do this to her. She didn’t deserve this. He wanted to give her everything and more. But his family, they needed him. And he had to return to help them. It was in his nature to help others. That’s how he was raised. To not do so would go against his consciousness and his spiritual self. And to compromise his spiritual nature went against everything he stood for.

“It is only for a short time. My people are sick, some are dying, and the Vida has asked for my presence and guidance. I will return to you. I promise you this.”

She glanced up at him, her bottom lip quivering. “So this isn’t…forever?” She could feel her heart slowing, she wasn’t going to lose him yet then. There was still too much to garner from him—information and supplies. “You’ll come back to me, promise?” She looked at him with glistening eyes. “I’ll wait for you, just come home to me.”

“It is certainly not forever Ves’tacha. I will only be gone for a short while. Once things are taken care of at home I shall return to you. This I promise on the honor of my family,” Tobar answered her with a small smile and bow of his head.

He would return to her. She was his princess. And he would always take care of her.

She nosed him lightly, and squeezed out a few more fresh tears, “Goodbye my heart. Go from me only to return sooner.” Lunulata watched with as grief-stricken face as she could muster, as he disappeared down the beach with his promise to return.

She stood there like a silhouette, for as long as he could see her features before turning away. Really, how did a strong stallion with so many goods fall from crap like that? Like she could really love him…

Her head snapped up, and for once a dark red flush covered her face as she saw that she wasn’t alone anymore. For a moment, her face floundered through expressions before composing herself. “Prince Gyoku,” she inclined her head. “You surprised me,” she let out in a hushed feminine whisper.

Gyoku had taken the long walk from his encampment over the sand hills, to come see Lunulata. He wasn’t supposed to come to visit her until tomorrow, but he had decided to surprise her. His hooves trudged through the sand, and crested the long hill. He looked down, trying to catch his first sight of his love.

His heart almost stopped as he saw her there talking with another stallion. He watched for a moment as the stallion moved further and further away, and he felt an odd dull ache in his chest. Who was she meeting? And why hadn’t she told him? Was she hiding something from him?

He close the space between them, worried about what it could mean. He’d been with a lot of mares before, but never had he cared for them in more than a passing fashinon. Lunulata was different though.

He stopped behind her, and as she turned he could see the shock and embarrassment clear on her face. Her face more than her words spoke of how shocked she was. He waited a moment before responding, evening his voice out. “I can tell, Lunulata,” he didn’t want to ask. He wasn’t sure he wanted to know exactly, but the words spilled out of his mouth and his voice went up an octave. “Who was that?”

Lunulata could see the anguish on his face, despite his usual stoic expression. She opened her eyes wide and ducked her head, “He’s my friend…” she put on a hurt expression. “He’s going away for a while, so he wanted to say goodbye to me until he comes back. Why?” She tilted her head as if it was the most natural happening in the world.

Gyoku felt himself become more at ease. How could he have thought something so terrible of her? Sure, he hadn’t known she was going to see him—but apparently, she hadn’t known either. “I’m sorry,” he said gently as he nosed her face. “I’m sure your friend will return.”

“Quite,” she whispered as she buried her deviously smiling face into his hair.

***

Lunulata was furious, absolutely furious. How dare Tobar break his promise and not return? She wasn’t done with him! He had so much more that she wanted to make her plans work, to get back her long lost kingdom… She would make him pay for his lies to her.

She paced up and down on the beach, wearing a furrow into the ground and letting out several un-mare-like curses. Suddenly, she stopped and stood still as the wind blew her hair about her. It was so simple really, perhaps the simplest and easiest idea she’d ever had…and Gyoku was just stupid enough to believe it with all his foolish concepts of honour, chivalry, and ethics.

She waited out the day by pacing until Gyoku returned to meet her. Her face was burned by the fierce sun of the day, and her eyes were red as if she’d been crying rather than rubbing them vigorously. When she saw him, she broke out into loud fretful sobs to carry out her plan.

Gyoku heard her sobs and quickened his footsteps up to her, ready to attack anything that would endanger her. “Are you hurt? What’s happening?” His eyes darted around quickly assessing the area they were in—what could be lurking in each area.

“Don’t look at me,” she cried out louder. “I don’t deserve your love…” She sobbed it out, while thinking how fantastic she’d gotten at being able to produce tears on queue.

“Tell me what’s wrong,” Gyoku whispered sweetly. What was happening? She looked whole and unharmed. He didn’t know what to do exactly.

“I’m pregnant,” she let out a little sob with the lie. “I’m pregnant,” she sobbed it out in a harsher screech. How easy it was to get him in a tizzy!

Gyoku couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face, “That’s not bad. They’ll be ours…beautiful little things. We’ll be a family Lunulata. What’s so wrong with that?”

Oh, here it was. The punch line of her horrible little lie. “They might not be yours!” Her voice trilled and she collapsed to the ground in tears.

For a moment, Gyoku couldn’t move or process what was going on. He couldn’t fathom what the words she’d spoken meant. It seemed like a eternity before he could even breathe, “What?” His voice was even and measured.

She laid there in the sand, acting as though she’d cried herself out. “He made me…He blackmailed me…tricked me…”

“Who?” The word came out harsh, his whole body shaking with a ravaging anger.

“The stallion, I said was my friend. He wasn’t…I was just so…ashamed.” She laid her head in the sand, dejectedly while watching him out of the corner of her eye. He was turning so many brilliant shades of red.

“I’ll take care of it,” he spoke once again harshly before lying down beside her. His voice softened he nudged her. “When I’m through with him, he’ll never hurt you again. And these children will be ours. Do you understand? I’ll wipe him out and anyone that stands in my way to him. This means war.”

She could feel her heart escalating, it had worked so perfectly. She’d permanately cemented Gyoku into doing everything she wanted and at the same time gotten vengeance against Tobar for leaving her. She was the only one allowed to leave. The only downfall was that she’d have to eventually produce foals because of this. All in all, not too bad. After all, he was a Prince even if it was won by war rather than blood.

Future Plots and Ideas

Tales of the Past
Tobar:
Sordid tales of his past experience with his Romani people.

This will include his healing of the people when he has to take leave of Lunulata

Lunulata:
Sordid tales of many, many other conquests.
This will include her search for her father while the stallions are at war.

Gyoku
Tales from the war and his adventure and friendship with Nori will fall here.

This will also cover how and when he met the Princess.

The Long Con:
Part 1:
Devasted by her father’s absence, Lunulata waits for him until she hatches her own plan to regain the kingdom and prove she’s worthy. She embarks on seducing males as a means to get funds and supplies to rebuild her kingdom.

The first one she meets is an old friend, Tobar, who doesn’t know that she’s a princess without a kingdom. She sets about mimicking his misconceptions of her to make him fall in love with her.

Part 2:
One conquest is never enough. Tobar is often gone for the day, or days at a time. Lunulata comes up with the brilliant plan that the strong prince Gyoku might take to a princess in distress—curt, polite, cute, and mellow as opposed to Tobar’s liking her a little more spirited and playul.

She sets about capturing the Prince into getting what she wants.

Part 3:
Extended of the RP part above. She’s strong both of the stallions along for a long time and now that Tobar has decided to leave her for his family, she has to keep Gyoku from catching on. When he doesn’t return, she makes up the lie that she’s pregnant (with the intention of getting that way before anyone find outs) so that Tobar who took advantage of her would be punished.

Part 4:
War is declared on the anyone harbouring the stallion Tobar. Up in arms, the Romani people defend them as their family inciting a battle and persecution as Tobar remains unfound.

During this time, the Princess has her first foals.

Part 5:
Months of persecution against the Romani people have occurred because of Lunulata’s lies. Tobar returns and hears of the trouble that his people have endured. Convinced that the Prince has concocted this lie, he demands a meeting with the Prince who believes the Princess had been taken advantage of.

Part 6:
The once again pregnant Princess is at home when Tobar and Gyoku meet. After fighting occurs, the two finally compare notes and see how they’ve both been lied to by the Princess.

Tales of the Future:
Tobar:
Though Gyoku and Tobar don’t get along—they both believe the first foals are Tobar’s (whether or not this is true). Gyoku who has grown to love them as his own, offers Tobar a place in his kingdom as a mediator in an attempt to keep the children from leaving.

Lunulata:
Her lies found out, Lunulata is sequestered until the second set of foals are born. After they’re born, she is banished from the kingdom on the pain of death.

After awhile, she comes to the realization that she does care for her foals and has to face the decision of risking her life to see them again or leaving well enough alone.

Gyoku:After his experience with Lunulata, the Prince realizes that his strict moral code is wrong. No code can possibly save him from heartache and that just because something is everything you want it to be, doesn’t mean it’s right or real. It’s this realization that drives him to take a journey to his cousin Nori (who now has a lovemate and children) and apologize for having not accepted him for who he is. Will Nori accept his apology or has too much time passed?

Soquili Name: Lady Amalanthania
Temper: Wistful

Personality: She grew up in a small enclosed society, thinking her life was mapped out for her and planned. Now her eyes are open and she sees the world anew, yearning for new experiences. While she is away from home, she will long for the comforts of the world she once knew, but when home, she needs desperately to explore and travel. She is restless and wistful, always longing to be where she isn't without loosing what she has.
Background:
Lady Amalanthania was raised as a princess in a small enclosed kingdom protected over by great reefs and strong sharks. Or so she was always told. She was never to see those reefs, for her own safety of course, and she never had reason to doubt or question that until the Gypsy arrived. She grew up taking care of the people she was told she would one day rule, knowing the prince she was told she would one day take as mate. Her whole future had a past, and her parents were discussing her successor with her when she was still a foal. She never knew how easy it would be to take her freedom... or that her parents had once had foals before her, and they had thrown off the oppressive shackles of their parent's expectations. They were the reason that the king and queen were so stringent in taking away her belief that she had a right to choose for herself. She had her duty to her people. And she had been content in that knowledge. Before she learned of the wider world, before she understood why her eyes often drifted outward.

Character Quirks: Whenever Lady Amalanthania is distracted, bored, or sitting still for a time, her eyes look around, and focus on nothing in particular off in the distance. She is conflicted within herself, at least for a while after the resolution of the plot, so sometimes falls into old habits, or at other times, falls further away from them then she is comfortable with. The world she once knew and understood no longer made sense to her, so she will be seeing everything through that lens, making her seem a touch... odd. Until she settles, finally.

Soquili Name: Shidor Mihai
Temper: Calculating

Personality: All the world is a stage, and Shidor delights in writing the script. Arrogant to the extreme, the Gypsy delights in making others dance to his tune without them ever realizing what they’re doing. He often does this with pure manipulation, mystery, or deals. So long as it benefits him and his plans, he’ll stop at nothing. This is not a kind hearted, benevolent traveler, but neither is he the dark, mustache twirling villain. He’s simply…. Shidor. And really, isn’t that the best thing to be?
Background: Shidor Mihai came out of his basket in very much the fashion he spent most of the life that followed. Alone. He would never know if he was abandoned, in something happened to his parents, or if the basket fairy simply failed to deliver him properly. Regardless, as a newly popped foal, he was forced to grow up fast. And he did, learning the hard lessons in numerous difficult ways. The first and most important rule that he discovered was that he could only trust and rely on himself.

The second lesson he learned was to take what he wanted from others. Nothing in this life was free. Everything had a price. Everything. And he was just the stallion to place that price. He wasn’t quite into adulthood when he first discovered the value of a good deal, and shortly after that the importance of a good con. He learned that strangers were weak and gullible, not to mention superstitious.

Shidor traveled, rarely staying in one place long enough for the locals to realize he was playing them. A few times he was nearly caught and hurt for his actions, which only taught him to be more careful and to plan for every possibility. By the time he wandered to the coastal kingdoms, he had managed to work up a rather mysterious, and completely bogus, reputation for being a powerful Gypsy. No one knew his name, of course, for he was extremely careful about giving that out. He was simply The Gypsy.

But word had it that The Gypsy could grant you any wish, provide your every desire. For a price. And in this kingdom, he spied exactly what he wanted. Something that he had been craving for some time now. Already the gears started turning in his head, and he knew exactly how to get it. All he had to do was woo one silly little princess…

Character Quirks: Shidor has a tendency to adapt any personality that will get the job done, be it helpful stranger, benevolent fairygod-soq, or the shady villain cackling in the corner. Aside from that, he really is rather brilliant, and gets bored easily. He has an innate ability to size up most people within a few moments, and with just a few more seconds can seize upon their heart’s desire. It’s this talent, along with his creativity, that he has turned toward “granting wishes.” Of course, he always leaves town before anyone realizes those wishes he granted weren’t nearly what they seemed.
He will also take to calling the prince Ari, despite the fact that the prince doesn’t like being called that.

The Prince
User Image

Username: Angelique DelaMort

Soquili Name: Glyndwr Ari Everad
Temper: Honorable

Personality: Strong, swift, brave, and true is this prince of the Coast Lands. He can do anything! Save a damsel, defeat a sea monster, fight for the safety of the realm, no problem. Well, almost anything. Seems our charming prince has one weakness and that is a very pretty princess. But aside from an incurable case of shyness when faced with beautiful woman, Prince Glyndwr Ari Everad is the picture of courtly gallantry. He is a noble knight who will always fight for what's right and will lay down everything to protect those he cares for. He would never raise a hoof against a lady and is often the first to enter the battlefield and the last to leave it (usually helping his wounded comrades find the healers before seeing to his own needs). He knows he is not the smartest or most cunning stallion in the court, but Glyndwr is convinced that by doing the honorable thing he will do what is best for his people.

Away from the court (and the pressures of not appearing foolish in front of a certain sea maiden), Glyndwr is very social and loves to play water games. He might not always win, but he plays every game with spirit! The prince also enjoys exploring the boundaries of his kingdom and getting to know those that live with in them. Glyndwr treats everyone he meets with the upmost respect, greeting the young colts playing in the fields with the same kindness and formality that he shows to foreign dignitaries. The people of the kingdom know they can rely on this prince if they ever need anything from help gathering food or finding shelter to a nice friendly chat.

Glyndwr is very loyal to those he considers his own. He loves and admires his brother and, unlike many in his situation, feels no jealousy or envy for his position. The young prince also esteems his father above all else and strives to please him. It is out of this desire to impress his father that he is also devoted to Lady Amalanthania, the princess of a neighboring realm.

Background: Glyndwr is the second son of the Surf King and as such has never been burdened with the pressures of one day becoming king himself. In fact, the only expectation put on him by the court (although never explicitly stated) was that he would marry the princess of a neighboring kingdom in order to form an alliance between the realms. And that was ok with him. After all, the Lady Amalanthania was lovely, and even though he couldn't manage to say anything more than the most basic pleasantries in her presence, he was content with his fate being entwined with hers.

With the limited expectations of his father and the court, Glyndwr found himself with an abundance of free time and dedicate himself to learning how to defend the land his brother would one day rule. While weak in strategical planning, the young prince fights with his whole heart and is a dutiful and capable soldier. His strength is in the bonds he forms with those under his command and the trust they have in him to be an honest and fair leader.

The young prince was happy in his life, feeling secure in a future as protector of the realms and husband to Lady Amalanthania. But everything changed when a mysterious stranger appeared. It started with a shadowy figure seen entering the royal chambers in the dead of night. The prince caught only a glimpse of this intruder and immediately gave chase, convinced this shady stallion meant to harm the princess. But as he drew closer, Glyndwr heard a strange sound - laughter. The princess and this interloper were laughing...together. Though he felt guilty spying on the lady, the prince could not help but notice how the princess seemed to glow in the presence of this stranger - granting him smiles, a blessing Glyndwr himself had never received. The feeling that blossomed in his breast might have been part jealousy, an envy of the easy laughter that flowed between them, but it was also dread - the dark dread that comes from knowing that he had failed in the one task expected of him by his father. And in desperation to mend the rift before it expanded, Glyndwr found himself willing to do almost anything.

Character Quirks: For the record, I never said he was smart, and while this prince is noble, he can also be very naive. However Glyndwr always strives to do what's right (although he can be swayed by those he cares for to bend the rules "a bit" from time to time). For all of his good qualities, Glyndwr is a prideful thing and is easily susceptible to flattery. He also tends to speak in a somewhat formal manner to royals and commoners alike (this is not a matter of pride, but simply how he talks).

The Story

Every story has a beginning, middle, and end. Some span the ages, while others happen within mere days. Some stories remain untold, while others get skewed out of context and truth. The romantic tale of the Princess and the Gypsy is one such tale. According to the legend, the princess fell madly in love with the mysterious Gypsy, and he with her. In this tale, the jealous prince challenged the stranger to a dual for the princess’s hand, and lost his life as a result. The Gypsy, fearing retaliation from the prince’s kingdom, fled into the night, taking his beloved princess with him. This tale would have you believe either the two lived happily ever after, or that they died in a romantically tragic way, preferring death to separation.

The true story of the Princess and the Gypsy is very different. As with many legends and myths, those telling the tale changed it to their own tastes and interests. If you wish, if you really want to know what truly happened, then sit and listen. But realize that there will be a price. Once you hear how the story really went, you will never be able to forget. You will always hear your favorite fairytales and wonder…. Is that true? Did that really happen? Or is that merely what someone wished had? Who first told that story and what is the truth behind it? If you can handle these questions for the rest of your life, then stay and I will tell the tale. If you prefer your blissful ignorance, then leave now and forever wonder what you missed…

Ah, I see your curiosity will doom you. Very well. You chose to stay, and by your decision, you will pay the price laid before you. Every story has a beginning, middle, and end, and the true story of the Princess and Gypsy begins when the gypsy first came to the kingdom on the sea…

Shidor Mihai had always been a loner, and for the longest time he was quite content. However, as he began to grow older, he began to realize that loner and lonely were very similar words. He began to crave a companion, one which he could control, for his lifestyle did not lead to many surprises. He didn’t like surprises. He had no thoughts toward starting a family. A toy would do just fine.

It was in the watery kingdom that he believed he had found exactly what he thought, and the devious gypsy’s mind immediately began calculating exactly what would need to be done in order to achieve his goals. He watched, waited, and learned until the perfect opportunity presented itself. Then, late one night, wearing a dark cloak, he stole his way into the palace where the sheltered princess lived…

Lady Amalanthania was just preparing to bed down for the night when she turned and found herself face to face with the dark stranger. She squealed and jumped back, startled. Heart racing, she stared wide eyed at him. “Who… who are you?” she gasped. The thought to call the guards flittered through her mind, and then was immediately dismissed. Surely this stranger was meant to be here, otherwise why would he have shown up in her room?

“They call me the Gypsy, my lady,” he purred with a graceful bow. “I have come to grant your wish.”

“My… my wish?” she stumbled over the words, still surprised at his words, but a bit afraid of what he could be speaking about. The only wish she had ever harbored, hidden in her heart, was to see the world. She craved the freedom her people possessed while at the same time she feared such a thing.

“Yes, my lady,” Shidor confirmed, with a tiny smirk. The princess was an easy mark, and it was with ease that he began to weave his web of deception. “I can hear the heart’s voice, and yours cries out for freedom, adventure. You wish to see the world, do you not?”

“I do,” she whispered, all at once forgetting her fear of that very desire. “But I cannot. I belong here. It is my duty to marry the stallion my parents have chosen, and to have an heir. I cannot leave the castle.”

“Ah, but you can,” he assured her, easing closer to the trusting filly. “With my help. I can show you the world, wonders of which you couldn’t even imagine. All you have to do is pay one tiny, little fee, and all you ever wanted could be yours.”

“Fee?” she asked, a bit breathless by both what he was offering, and his presence.

“Everything has a price, my lovely princess,” he murmured. “And the fee for this is small, insignificant, compared to what you will gain.”

“What...what do you ask?” she stared at him, spellbound by his voice and the adventures she was already imagining. Shidor allowed himself a small, self satisfied chuckle. Time to spring the trap shut.

“A heart, my dear,” he told her, nuzzling her lightly and earning a startled squeak. “One little heart for everything you could ever want.”

For a long moment, the princess didn’t respond, surprised by the price he asked of her. But she was young and sheltered. She couldn’t understand exactly what he was that he was saying, and the offer was far too tempting for the naive mare. So, it was with wistful desire that she sealed her own fate with one single word, “Yes.”
~*~*~
For several nights, Shidor returned to the princess’s chambers, charming her with stories of the outside world. He never spoke of the price again, instead insisting that they spend these stolen hours together so that he could prepare her for the outside world and her coming freedom. He regaled her with tales of adventures and romance, with beauties and wonders that she would one day see.

It was on one of these nights that the prince spotted a shadowy figure lurking in the halls. Knowing that such an ominous stranger did not belong, he gave chase, only to be brought up short when the figure slipped into the princess’s chambers. Prince Glyndwr was prepared to charge straight in and apologize to the princess once the invader had been intercepted, only to be brought short by a strange, musical sound.

He stood in stunned silence for a moment before he was able to identify it. Then it came again and he realized what he was hearing. A giggle. A light hearted, happy giggle. Cautiously, and feeling immensely guilty for what he was doing, he eased forward to peek into the room. He could see the princess clearly, illuminated by the firelight, and she was as beautiful as ever. Only she seemed to glow this time. The princess had always struck him as slightly melancholy, but now she was clearly delighted.

The stranger he couldn’t see too clearly, for the figure was still hidden in shadows, but he did make out an outline of a male. A tail flicked and a deep, soothing voice murmured, drawing another giggle and smile from the princess. An unfamiliar feeling bloomed in the prince’s chest and he quickly drew away, moving quietly so as not to disturb his betrothed’s happy bubble.

He returned to his own chambers and spent long hours studying and trying to identify this strange new emotion. Finally, the kind hearted but slow witted prince was able to place a name. Rather, two names to the emotions roiling around inside him. He was jealous of the ease with which this unknown stranger was drawing laughter and smiles from the princess. He was also terrified. She clearly cared for this mysterious figure. The prince had never been able to make her smile, and the spirits knew he had tried in his own clumsy way. Was she in love with this stallion? Had the prince failed win the heart of the mare he was expected to take as mate?

With an aching head and heavy heart, he took his concerns to the one person he trusted above all else. His older brother. It was the heir who told him of the Gypsy that had wandered into town.

“The Gypsy is said to have mystical powers,” his brother told him, solemnly. “If the princess is falling in love with this stranger, then it must be stopped, for he must be a dark, shady creature. Only one who wishes harm would skulk about in the shadows. But you cannot let the princess think that you are trying to dictate what she does. Mares don’t much care for that. What you must do, to protect her heart and virtue, is go to the Gypsy. You must convince him to give you a love potion for the princess. If she loves you, then she will not be in danger from this stranger.”

The prince considered his brother’s words before concluding that he must be right. While Glyndwr didn’t like the idea of deceiving the princess like that, he could accept that it was for her own sake. He wanted to make her happy, and surely if she loved him she would be happy, yes?

So, the next day, he slipped off into the village and tracked down the Gypsy. Solemnly and politely, he laid out the situation and asked, with the utmost sincerity, for a potion to solve his woes.

“A love potion, you say,” Shidor murmured, containing his mirth. His plan was falling into place exactly has he had hoped. It had been a risk to allow the prince to see him, but the gypsy had guessed that rather dull witted prince wouldn’t think too much on the few details he could see in the dark. Clearly Shidor was right, and the prince didn’t recognize him. Of course, a love potion was impossible, but the prince didn’t know that. And often times, lust and love were confused with one another. “Yes, I can provide you with a love potion. There will, of course, be a price.”

“Yes, of course,” the prince nodded, understanding. “I will pay whatever price you wish. Gold? Jewels? It is of no consequence so long as my princess remains safe.”

“Oh, I have no need for metal or rocks,” the Gypsy dismissed with a shake of his head, much to the prince’s confusion. “What I wish from you is a title.”

“A…title, good sir?” Glyndwr asked, his confusion deepening. Did the Gypsy wish to be knighted? If that was the case then the prince would gladly see that it was done. “Of course, I will grant you any title you wish.”

“Excellent. You will have to gather certain ingredients, and I will require your presence for brewing the potion,” the Gypsy lied, smoothly. Foolish Glyndwr listened with rapt attention as Shidor ordered him to gather five strands of his desire’s hair along with various herbs and spices that could be found throughout the kingdom.
~*~*~
And so it was, for several weeks. During the day, the prince hung on the Gypsy’s every word and command, eager to gather the ingredients for the potion he believed would save his princess. Before long, his determination to protect his lady faded and was replaced by curiosity and fascination with this mysterious traveler. The Gypsy told him tales of far off places and cultures. The prince became convinced that there was goodness underneath the mysterious and devious exterior that the Gypsy presented. He came to look forward to going to visit the traveler, and even possessed a thread of dread for the day the Gypsy would tell him that the potion was done.

During the night, the Gypsy continued to visit the princess, enchanting her further with similar tales to those he told the prince. Her impatience to see the world he painted so vividly began to grow, and her chains began to chafe at her more and more. Finally, the day came. The Gypsy told her exactly what to do to sneak out of the palace, and precisely where to meet him. Shidor passed along a similar message to the prince, informing both royals to meet him on the cliffs facing the oceans, well away from the palace.

It was time to collect his reward.
~*~*~
The princess arrived first, huddling in her cloak. Her trepidation at leaving the world she had known behind was overwhelmed by excitement of exploring the unknown. She could barely contain her enthusiasm. For weeks, she had been fantasizing about this moment, about running away with the Gypsy. After all, he had wanted a heart in exchange for her freedom, and she was prepared and happy to give him hers.

The prince came a few moments after she did, not nearly in as good spirits. This was what he had wanted, he reminded himself. A potion to make his princess love him so he could protect her from the darker sides of the world. He should be happy. Why, then, did he have a feeling he was about to lose the precious bond he had formed with the Gypsy? Perhaps it had something to do with the fact that the traveler had all but said he would be leaving the kingdom this night.

For a moment, neither noble noticed each other. When they finally did, fear gripped the princess and guilt seized the prince.

“M…my lady!” the prince gasped, staring at her as all his shyness crashed down on him. “What… er… what brings you out on this lovely eve?”

“P…prince,” the princess stuttered, tensing. Had he come to drag her home? Had they been discovered? So wrapped up in her own fears, she didn’t quite process his words.

“You are both here because I called you,” the Gypsy declared, stepping from the shadows where he had been waiting. The moment had come, the stage had been set. It was merely time for the grand climax of the story.

“Gypsy?” the princess gasped, shooting a concerned glance toward the prince. “I don’t understand.”

“Nor do I,” the prince admitted, his confusion clear on his handsome face. “Why would you call the Lady Amalanthania out of her chambers on such a dangerous night?”

The Gypsy ignored the prince’s question. “You both sought my services, and it’s time for you to pay the prices, I think,” he informed them with a smug smile. “My lady, you wished your freedom. You have escaped the castle, all you need do now is dive into the waters below and swim. Take your freedom between your hooves and embrace it.”

“But… what about you?” she squeaked, suddenly feeling as though she would be expected to go on this grand adventure alone. “Won’t you come with me?”

Again, the Gypsy ignored the questions, instead turning to the prince. “And princeling, you wished to protect your lady. You asked of me to make a potion for you that would allow you do so.” He pulled the bottled liquid from his pouch and tossed it to the prince. “There it is. To make her happy all you need is to go with her and give her that. The two of you will be able to see the world, together.”

“I…” the prince stopped himself, staring at the potion. With a sudden and rare moment of clarity, he realized that he didn’t want to give the princess the love potion. He wished to protect her, yes, but no more so than he wished to protect any of his people. He looked up at the prince. “Your price…”

“Yes, of course,” the Gypsy smiled. “There is the matter of my fee. The lady promised me a heart, and the lord promised me a title, I believe.”

“You have my heart,” the princess whispered, already feeling it beginning to break. She was foolish and naive, but not dumb. She could begin to see where this was going, if only a bit.

“It is not your heart I want,” the Gypsy informed her, not unkindly. While he felt no remorse at using the princess to achieve his own gains, he had come to know the mare and realized that she would make a useful tool in the future. There was no sense in burning that bridge now. He turned his attention to the prince. “Nor is it a title of my own that I want.”

“I do not understand,” the prince admitted, more confused than ever by what was occurring. His expression, Shidor decided, was downright adorable.

“Your title, princeling,” Shidor specified. “That is the price I ask of you for the potion.”

“You… wish to be a prince?” Glyndwr asked. Shidor’s head dropped slightly.

“No, I wish you to shed your own title, give up being a prince,” the Gypsy clarified, carefully. He did his best to use small words so his charmingly thickheaded prince would understand. “Give up your title, and there will be nothing holding either of you here. You will not be expected to marry the princess because you will not be a prince, and the princess will not be held responsible for her duties any longer. Give up your title, and she will be safe from the shackles that have made her miserable for so long.” The Gypsy paused before voicing his final offer, fighting to keep it smooth and steady. “Give up your title, and you and I can travel together… be together.”

The prince’s eyes widened as the lady’s heart broke. For a moment, the only sound was that of the wind howling through the sparse trees. Finally, when the Gypsy thought his lungs would burst with the breath he was holding, the prince spoke.

“I…forsake my title,” Glyndwr whispered, awed at the very words he was speaking. “I will free us all.”

Shidor let out the breath he had been holding and smiled a small, genuine smile. Glyndwr felt a burst of pride as he realized that HE had placed that smile there. HE had made this stallion, whom he had come to care so much for, a moment of joy. While he was wallowing in his brief triumph, the gypsy turned to the princess.

“My lady, the prince’s heart belonged you, I now claim it as my own,” he informed her, tamping down on his giddiness. “You are no longer bound to him, no longer betrothed. You have the freedom to come or go as you wish. Perhaps you hurt now, but I assure you, you did not care for me. You cared for the stories I brought, the freedom I offered. I give that to you now. Go. Explore. Enjoy.”

The princess shook her head. Perhaps the gypsy was right, and she would heal from the heartache. But for now, she couldn’t imagine such a thing. Rather than stay and humiliate herself further, though, she lunged for the cliffs and dove into the waters. She raced into the unknown, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Glyndwr started after her, concern swamping his own joy, only to be brought up short by the Gypsy.

“Let her go,” Shidor told him, gently. “She needs time to adjust. We will see her again, I promise.”

The former prince looked to the gypsy before nodding slowly. He allowed himself to be led away from the cliffs and toward his new life with the traveler he had come to care so much for. And the Gypsy allowed himself a satisfied sight. It had taken weeks, but he had gotten what he wanted.

Thus the tale of the Princess and the Gypsy came to an end, and the story of the Gypsy and his Prince began.

Future Plots and Ideas
- I foresee plenty of shenanigans where Ari tries to keep Sha on the straight and narrow path while Sha tries to see just how much he can corrupt Ari.
-Ari might like a family someday, how would Sha handle that prospect?
-Amal has been cast out into the world, broken hearted and severely sheltered, she will likely learn many of the harsh lessons Sha did not teach her, but will she see the wonders he had promised? Will she find a kinder stallion to mend the heart Sha broke?
-Walking away from the kingdoms as Ari and Amal did will not be nearly so easy… there’s always the chance that the noble parents might try to bring them back
-Sha thrives on control. What happens that one day when he can’t control the outcome of his schemes? Will Ari be the one to pay the price?
-One day, the three will be reunited. Will there be hard feelings between the devious gypsy and the scorned princess? Or will she put the past behind her and join the odd little family Ari seems inclined to create?
~This has really only been the prolog, the true tale can begin as all three go out and find themselves, in a fashion that only Sha had really predicted.

The Princess

Username:
xxxxxx•Yumitoko II

Soquili Name:
xxxxxx•Princess South Sea (Princess South for short.)
Temper:
xxxxxx•Distant

Personality:

xxxxxxThe Dreamer:
Princess South is quite the dreamer, she'll watch the waves of the sea from sun rise to sunset. At night she'll stare at the moon and wonder how it has such a control over the water. During the day she'll let the currents carry her away and hope that they'd take her to her destiny and to her prince.

xxxxxxHard to coax out of the water but will come out in her own time:
The princess is very partial to water and strangers may find it hard to coax her out of the water but the gypsy has so much charm... how could she even resist?

She had always been told by servants that it was dangerous out of the water and of course she believed them. How could they lie to her? Didn't they just want the best for her? Or did they lack the knowledge needed to advise her?

xxxxxxAn avid interest in sea life:
The creatures on land sometimes scare the princess, she has been told many times that they are dangerous and she'd much prefer the softer and more squishy life forms of the sea.

xxxxxxExpectations:
There are a lot of expectations of the princess and it is ingrained into her brain that it is her destiny to fulfil it. She has only been told what her parents want her to know. Her life has always been happy and very sheltered, but this brainwashing was to only have her in their sight.

Background:
South is almost the perfect idea of your typical naïve princess and this has all been helped along nicely by the guidance and strict rules of her parents and advisors.

Oh no, the princess wasn't allowed to have her own excitements or fun, nothing to wild and she should not be brought up around sharp tongues. The princess hadn't known anything more to life than what she was already living because it is all she had ever known. She was quite content with her life and spent more time with the animals than her family, her mother disapproved of this act because she said it made her dirty and was not how a lazy should be but she simply shrugged it off, she could never quite relate to her mother because she had always expected so much.

The princess only lived to please herself and the animals. She'd only find happiness in what she liked doing and didn't want to be a clone of her mother.
She'd herd of the war which happened many years ago but didn't know what it was for or how it happened. She just knew that she had to do what was her duty or the bad men might take her away, she only knew the bad men as the people in the North kingdom.

Character Quirks:
Quote:
The royal we: the princess will speak in a different voice to her usual one in public and will refer to herself as we, this is very outdated of her kingdom but the king and queen are traditionalists.

Quote:
Swimming: When in the water, she will doggy paddle when he head is above water but below she will tuck her legs in and use her powerful tail, her spine and the rest of her body to imitate a mer.
Eyes: The sea does not sting the princesses eyes when she is underwater due to her type and breed.
Whether nervous or not she can find it hard to keep eye contact with others, family, friends or stingers.
Pets: She has many pets but her favourite is the one on her back. In her kingdom pets don't have pet names so she just calls him Octopus.
Octopus will cling to her back, sometimes she will put him back in the sea because she doesn't think he can survive. Out of much practice she flicks wanter on him with her tail, as a filly she used to end up splashing herself but now she has it down to a tee.
No legs for land: Due to her being partial to the water, bobbing up and down again and again she feels unsteady on land. The sea is flowing and it caries you in all directions, and sometimes the land for her is just too still although her legs are more than strong enough to go on land.
Hair: She doesn't care about her hair, it's gonna get messy, salty and tangled anyways.
Tail: She'll walk with her tail elevated above ground but sometimes it can be tiring and she'll need a rest. At other times she can use it as another limb...sort of.

The Gypsy

Soquili Name: Kai Basilio ( King of the Sea )
Temper: Deciving

Personality:
xxxxxxThe Disguise:
The Gypsy, ever since he was young, had been a very brave soul. He would always worry his mother, though a Gypsy herself, she would always worry about im sometimes. He was different from the others. He was always smiling and having a good time, making the others in his Caravan laugh and smile. The herd he was from was very well known, and the young colt knew that from the moment he came into the world. He never knew his father, though his mother would tell him stories all the time about his great adventures and how he had swooned her, sweeping her off his feet and making her fall in love. This Gave him motivation to grow up and be like his father, to spite who they were

As he became older, he fell into position as the leader, knowing it was his rightful place. his father had left him with right before he went missing. When he was old enough, he set out to look for his father, and explore the seas, leaving behind his mother, and the rest of his heard. Though he left them in good hands, he still worried about them from time to time as he went off looking. As he did so, he found one night a beautiful mare, and swore to do the same as his father. It was a touching story then, why not try in now? Night after night we would bring her beautiful treasures and tell her his stories and adventures that he had. One night though, as they were together, he noticed another stallion watching from a distance. He found himself growing curious of him, and became more weary about him.

Quote:
So one night, instead of seeing the princess, he went to take a look at the prince. As they talked, he found himself becoming infatuated with him, beginning to spend more and more time with the prince, he questioned his sexuality. he didn't like the idea of it, it was new, but he was all about taking risks.

It was becoming dangerous and he found himself lying to both of them, keeping his affairs covered nicely, but still feeling guilty for what was was doing.

xxxxxxThe Liar:
Lying is an attribute passed on through his family from generation to generation. Only mothers could tell when someone was lying, something special they picked up on and there was no getting round it.

Quote:
The found himself tricking them and using them both to get what he needed. Whether is be a nice boat, gold, rare treasures. He had them both under his hoof. Being it true that he felt bad, it wasn't in his court that he would regret it, he was a thief it was what he did, and he did not only steal items this time, it was two unfortunate hearts.

He tried desperately to talk them out, but neither would listen, he had no problem though. He only continued to get nicer, and nicer things. one night though, he decided that he had gotten all that he had desired. One more week he stuck around, getting things secretly that he would need to travel. He wasn't lonely and certainly was not poor anymore. His days of thieving were over.

He looked the prince in the eye on the last night and proclaimed his love for him shamelessly, no sign of leaving in his eyes and no hits in his voice. Hoping that he left and impression on the prince's heart, he walked away without another word, hoping he would com after him.

The Same faithful night, he went to the princess and told her the same thing that he had told the prince, twisting his words slightly, still not sing of leaving or deceiving either one of them.

With the love affair still very well hidden, he left early the next morning while they were both sleeping. He had everything that he could ever want.except a lover, which didn't matter too much any more. He had just robbed both royal families. He was happy. He had nothing to worry about but getting back to the heard, and finding his father.

The Truth: The Gypsy was a misunderstood colt, and and even more mysterious stallion as he he grew. He wanted to be understood by someone, and able to tell some one all that had happened. He wasn't shy, it was just hard for him to trust others in reality. He just wanted to be things like they were before. After he left his mother though there was no one to talk to, so all his emotions were pent up inside of him, he would never blow up, or cry, just shake it off and pretend like it didn't hurt him. After he met the princess though, he felt as if he could be himself again. And even after he met the prince, his true love, he felt comfortable with him, but still had that nasty habit of lying, and not telling the whole truth about himself. This led Kai to his own Demise.

Quote:
In the end, he thought he had changed for the better, but really, it was for the worst. He didn't mean to. But it happened that way because he couldn't over-come his compulsive lying.

Background:

Kai grew up in a tough family. Everyone pressured him that he was going to have to grow up and become a strong leader. He was eager to accept the challenge. Though it changed when he got older. He was just like his father, according to his mother anyway. He was a proud, noble stallion that would do anything for his herd. He gladly took the compliments and watched out for them. He cared very much for though he was close to and would defend them with his life. Though, all they really did was seal and run from the law. It was their job.

After he left he was on his own, he became a bit confused. His herd had always kept him on track, but on his own, he was lost. As he remembered the stories from his past and the tales of was a great leader, and lover his father was, it made him want to be like that. Some night he would stand on the shore, or find a quiet little cavern and reminisce on his past, that made his so much. He realized that he was always the one that made other smile, but he himself was never able to smile because of unaddressed feeling and memories. The older he got, the less he smiled. It was always a sly smirk and a quick lie.

He wished that he was able to break free of these feelings, and that was the part that troubled him the most and made him uneasy. He had a hard time sleeping at night because of this. Dreams and a past life intruded his sleep at night, but he never let it show on his face. Which is why he was a good liar, and cunning trickster when he talked to others.

Character Quirks:
- Kai paws at the ground when he's bored
- He has a nasty habit of chewing his lip when he's nervous.
- When he lies, his left ear twitches four times
- Spaces out often and daydreams about his heard
- Kai is touchy on the subject of parents and his back ground
- Stomps his right hoof when he wants attention

Having the feeling that he was invisible because of his chizzled body, silky mane. Devilish Smile...Lovely eyes. Not to mention eyelashes. Who was he kidding. He was born perfect and grew up perfect. But that gave him a horrible attitude. The stallion thought he could get what ever he pleased with the click of his hoof. Life was always fair to the Soq. That was, until he became an adult. He was lonely. and due to his rotten personality not a lot of mares liked him anymore. Sure he was eye candy, but not a good partner.

His poor judgement was defiantly his down fall in his match making proses. He grew bitter towards females. All of the becoming plain because he had seen just about every kind of lovely mare in the world became he got what he wanted all the time.He Needed a Spark back in his life. It was hard enough having a guy as a friend.

As he got older, scoring with the ladies was way to easy. The fillies and mares would drop at a hat to be by his side and just say they were with him. His specialty was the famous "Royal Stand". It was basically a one night stand with the mares. he was quite the playboy. All the beautiful females were getting dull in his life.He needed something more interesting. He was bisexual, he had found that out at a young age by having a crush on one of his best friends, also a butler. But he had never tried to get with another stallion. The idea seemed to be off in his head.

The Story

((Told in the style of word by mouth.))

Quote:
Once upon a time there was a large sea kingdom of which hardly any land creatures knew about and (it was very rare of a kelpie to speak of them).
A haven for kelpies, mers and sea minis alike.

Soon a civil war broke out when South's great great great great great great great great grandfather was murdered for the purpose of claiming ownership of the throne. Some people were glad of this, they wanted change, things were too boring for them and they may have had a slight lust for drama and others hated it and liked the way things were but maybe they were just a little square and resistant to change.

Many generations passed and the kingdom had already split into a north and a south but the kingdoms had forgotten why they had fought all those years ago. No-one could remember and yet they had this hatred in grained in themselves to hate the other kingdom.

One summer an agreement of peace was made, the conditions were that the Prince of the North and the Princess of the South were to marry and the kingdom would reunite again, both reigning kings and queens were to step down to make way for the young ones. The current king of the south said he'd banish anyone conspiring against the proposal, the kingdoms had no choice, because all their good resources were being destroyed and restricted by the other kingdom.

During the time of this, a mysterious traveler was making his way into the waters and into the princess' heart. The King of the South told her to finally go to the shore and there she'd meet her prince. She did so and there she met the Gypsy. This was just his luck, he'd visit her to test his charm, wooing and beguiling her with his exotic ways. They laugh, joke and dance every night.

The Prince was a little late and had finally arrived in the South to court the princess and eventually marry her, he was getting pretty desperate.
The princess knew the Gypsy was not her Prince but was good enough for her as she hand't even seen the prince yet.

One night the Gypsy was making his way to the Princess and caught a glimpse of the prince, the princes eyes sparkled at him. The prince had hoped the handsome stranger hadn't noticed but he had. The gypsy slipped on in to the Princesses chambers and harvested his treasures from her. He used her excitement and joy to call out to the Prince and to tease him.

In two ways it said it him that he was wooing his promised princess far better than he could ever do, and she was getting all the laughter and enjoyment he could be giving him. Eventually the Prince hunted down the Gypsy on his way to the princess' chambers.

"Who are you? Why are you with the Princess?"
The prince did not want to ruin the princess' reputation or else they would never be allowed to get married.
The Gypsy smiled,"that is none of your business." His eyes flickered to the opening between him and a tree, but the prince was quick to step into it.
"Tell me."
"No", the Gypsy swished his tail slowly from side to side just above the ground,"and why is it you want to know?" He walked the prince backwards into a tree.
"Jealous?"

The Prince met him with a swift no and a head tilt.
The gypsy laughed and leaned in gently to his ear,"sure." This time he'd managed to escape with swift a tail flick, but this would not be so the next day.

The princess was now starting to wonder why the Gypsy was always turning up a little later when she was a little too tired to dance and sing. She'd just curl up with him and he'd be gone in the morning. So slight of touch was he that she thought it was almost impossible.

Soon the Gypsy had both the Prince and Princess underneath his hoof, but neither of them saw it that way, they saw it as getting the attention they deserved. Or maybe it was just the attention they craved.
Their father's had, had them meet in daylight under supervision and they were to be courting soon under the agreement. The princess didn't like the idea, she only wanted the gypsy but kept her retort stored deep inside her.

The prince was torn, there was an odd feeling which stirred inside him when he thought of the Princess and the Gypsy together, perhaps jealousy with a hint of something else. He knew the Gypsy was still seeing her although he denied it because he'd never stay with him, he'd always up and leave and this would also leave him cold.

The Gypsy had harvested as much treasure as he thought was possible and began to get bored with the pair he slipped each a note and with that he was gone.

The Prince and Princess opened their notes to find not a love letter but disappointment, they looked around them and saw things were starting to look a little bare. Both had watched the stars with him and told him everything because they trusted him, he'd never talk much about himself because he was a better listener.

The Princess snook out to the Prince and cried all night, the Prince wanted to do the same but he could not, it was something which was frowned upon in the South kingdom, he just made the excuse of having salt in his eyes although the Princess knew this was not true.

Over time both the Prince and Princess rebuilt and mended each other's hearts and tried to shake him from their thoughts, but the Gypsy was now in their minds forever, he'd never truly be gone.

Future Plots and Ideas

The discovery of ice cream and snow cones love:

This shattering brings them together and they share a snow cone together and a few cool drinks, soon they find out that they were just looking to the wrong person for love.

And what's this then?:
The gypsy returns to the kingdom after deciding he needed a companion after all to find that the Prince and Princess are an item and very much in love. Although not admitting it both still have feelings for the gypsy, and both fear, hate and love him. To avoid confusion they shun him from their reunited kingdom.

The gypsy lands a curse on them full of misfortune and is never seen or herd from again, but this haunts the pair until their last breath.

She-Ra of Etheria

PostPosted: Tue Jul 31, 2012 12:22 pm
The Princess
User Image

Username: She-Ra of Etheria

Soquili Name: Princess Nacre
Temper: Gentle

Personality: A picture of royal perfection Nacre is everything a princess should be. She is poised, well spoken, has a great knowledge of the world she lives in thanks to her extensive education, knows well her place within the kingdom and cherishes the small things like spending the day with her handmaidens performing small womanly oriented tasks. A great lover of history and stories Nacre's great passion is to have any traveler who comes to her fathers court to share all their stories with her of what they have seen and heard as well as tell her about the lands beyond her fathers borders. This love of stories also translated into her admiration of song, as they are often stories put to music.

Nacre is an extremely polite mare, even going so far as to treat many of the servants with more respect than her father wishes them to receive. A smile is always found on her lips when conversing with anyone from the poorest of the kingdoms residence to discussing strategy with the war council.

Background: Born into the royal family Nacre was the instant object of everyone's attention and affection. Being that she was the only child ever conceived between the King and Queen she had the entire staff plus most of the royal court at her knees whenever she wanted or needed something. Knowing that this attention could easily go to her head the King ensured that Nacre knew the importance of their staff, that while they were here to serve them they were also to be treated with an air of respect, for without their loyal subjects and servants the kingdom could fall. Because this lesson was taught to her early Nacre did not become a spoiled brat of a princess that often happens among other royal families.

Early in her foalhood the King decided it was time to find Nacre her future mate. As was custom a Princesses future mate was chosen by her father and she would have no say n the matter. So the king set off to find the perfect Prince. Not any Prince would do, Nacre's father was an extremely picky stallion and if he did not find exactly what he wanted then his daughters future would be put on hold. He would never settle for anything just to claim that his daughter would have a husband. The search took quite some time yet in the end the King found a young colt about the same age as Nacre, the boy was perfect in the King's eyes and so a deal was struck and the pair was officially betrothed.

Upon returning to his daughter the King shared the great news with her and Nacre was extremely pleased. She knew how hard her father would have looked for her future mate and knowing that he would not pick just anyone she was certain her future husband was perfection and beyond. It was two months later that the foals first met one another. Nacre noticed that Prince Philmore was a bit shy but chalked that up to being under the watchful eye of her father. His quietness aside Nacre thought her father had picked a very good future husband for her, she could see that Philmore would grow into a fine looking stallion and so was quite content to continue her studies, learning all she could about being a good princess and an even better wife, to fill in the time until they were both old enough to be officially married.

But time had a funny way of changing ones perspective of things. Nacre grew into a beautiful mare who longed for the life her father had promised her with her future husband. Yet when she met him once more to set the date for their marriage the princess was shocked. The Prince was still quiet, barely muttering a single word to her. This was not the perfect husband she had envisioned all those months ago and hearing her father announce the date they would be wed, only six months away Nacre was gripped with panic. Would her future husband ever get over his shy ways?

Determined not to let her perfect future slip away Nacre made the effort to try to talk to Philmore, in an attempt to break him out of his shell, but this proved futile. This was when her father noticed Nacre spending a lot of time staring at the ocean, letting out wishful sighs. Seeing his daughter was not happy, and possibly putting not only the marriage but the kingdom at risk he made a rash decision and had her locked away in a tower so she could concentrate on her proper tasks, which was to get over her feelings and marry the Prince. What should have put an end her to unhappiness only increased it and so she began to sing to the ocean each night, in a plea for help.

Character Quirks:
Dreamer - What started out as a innocent foal time activity of wondering what her future would be like with her Prince this quickly turned into an escape from reality. The turning point of this was when Nacre realized her Prince was not all he was supposed to be and so she longed even more for what her father had promised her and what she had dreamed of as a foal. It is this dreamer way that pushed her father into locking her away.

Caring - While not normally a character flaw in Nacre's case it is. She cared for the hand maidens who were her constant companions, more so than her father wished. They were servants not friends but Nacre didn't see it as that.

The Octopus - Nacre treats her octopus, which was given to her as a gift from her fathers close friend, much like many would treat a dog. Some may think it unseemly for her to be throwing bits of coral down the beach for it to scurry after and return to her but Nacre sees it as something very normal. And normal is something a Princess is rarely allowed to be.

Soquili Name: Merikano
Temper: Spontaneous

Personality: Merikano is a very live in the moment kind of guy, he's not one to ponder to much about the future or spend to much time thinking about the past - in fact half the time it seems like this stallion cares for very little except his own personal amusement and pleasure at any given time. If he's not having a good time then it unlikely he'll stick around for much longer.

Charming, bold and free spirited this stallion is not above using whatever is handly to get what he wants - that that his good looks, his silver tongue or his exotic culture. Loyalty however is not high on his list of virtues and when push comes to shove he'll probably feed you to the shark to save his own tail if it came down to it - but he'll smile at you while he does it..and quite likely convince you that it was your own idea in the first place.

Merikano lives by his own set of rules - and while these rules might not make any sense to anyone but him he doesn't really care, he professes to live honorably by these personal rules but in reality they're more of a 'guideline' then firmly set directives, the line between right and wrong for Marikano is wavy and blurred even in the best of times.

Despite these various faults Marikano is truly not an evil stallion - he doesn't go out of his way to intentionally cause harm or hurt others, he merely wishes to live the life HE wants to live and if he has to nudge you out of his way to make that happen in a timely fashion (patience is also not very prominent in his life) then he'll do so.

Background:

Merikano is the youngest son of a fairly large family clan and has been raised - like all of his siblings - to distrust and dislike the various royal families. Most especially that of the princess' lineage. The stallion can barely recall a family gathering that did not include the retelling of her families slight against his. History states that sometime long ago said royal family persecuted and condemned many of his ancestors as thieves. No one really knows if said theves were truly guilty - the Princess' side claims that they were while the gypsy's say that they were innocent.

None the less Merikano has been raised knowing of this history..and has been conditioned to dislike the royals. As he grew from foals to yearling to young adult his bitterness towards the royals was fed and grew until it was nearly an all em compassing hatred. He has been however the only one in his family to consider actually doing anything about it...and his attempts are both scorned by a society who prefers to huddle among itself and do little more then shun those they are irate with..and admired by a younger generation of gypsy's who seem more keen on taking action and his plots...are about to be put into actions. Whether or not they work out and earn him fame..or disdain however are for the future to decide.

Character Quirks:

- Vanity : Merikano might be the last born son in his family but her certainly thinks he's handsome enough to be number one...which is why it's not all that surprising that his dastardly master plan revolves heavily on his ability to woo the princess with his good looks and Suave charm.

- Water Dancing : Like all Gypsies Merikano enjoys music and the art's but he is particularly in love with the art of water dancing, a form of dancing developed by Kelpies and embraced by the gypsy tribes. Merikano would like to say that his skill in water dancing is legendary among his tribe..but you'll have to take his word on that.

Dislike of many Aquatic animals : Although he lives in and near the ocean Merikano has a bit of a prejudiced look upon many of his fellow aquatics...Octopus,squid, shrimp, jelly fish - he considers pretty much all of them 'Aquatic insects' that are not only disturbing to look at..but unsavory to be around..which is going to make his master plan just a little bit difficult..but he's pretty confident in his acting abilities.

Soquili Name: Prince Philmore (Greek/Welsh for "lover of the sea")
Temper: Subdued

Personality: Philmore is first and foremost a romanticist, sometimes to the point of impracticality. He enjoys gamboling about both land and sea and at times acts like a foal, albeit a quiet one. Often he speaks through gestures and body language, too often finding that his congenital stuttering is less than befitting one of royal stature; his parents tried to weed it out of him through therapy, but even so certain letters continue to vex him. While all appearances lend to regality and a placid coolness so much like the sea he was born by, Philmore can easily be burdened by doubts and insecurities, especially when it comes to Nacre, whom was arranged for him at a young age.

Love is the path, goal, and center of his life. Philmore's as harmless as a fly and rather charitable towards others, very much a believer in karmic destiny and in being the good prince so many foals have been regaled with stories of. His devotion to Nacre is clear, and this courtesy extends to all of the fairer species (possibly into insulting territories, such as not allowing them to do something that he could do for them instead). All in all, the prince is a gentle persona of the court, forever tinged with the melancholy of his own inability to express his thoughts.
Background: Philmore's rearing was nothing particularly special in comparison to his ancestors, though when the issues of his stammering began to rear their ugly heads, the king and queen immediately tried to cure him of it. If anything, their laser-like attention only worsened the condition until, at last, the young foal managed to learn to mask it behind a silent mask. Anything short of perfect would ruin the union between him and Nacre.

There was also, of course, the matter of him being a poor fighter, but given the struggles their son already had with socializing his parents decided to let it go and hope for the best. Maybe enlist a bodyguard for their somewhat effeminate princeling.

Philmore continue to attain worrisome traits: intensely focusing his life on bettering the princess's rather than bettering his own, spending hours daydreaming and musing of things that could be, letting his hair grow out and loose like a commoner's - but by then their son was grown and the ritual done. It was out of their hooves now, though they could hope that somehow, some way, the important lessons managed to penetrate his thoughts while they remained up in the clouds.

In a way, the Gypsy's arrival heralds the beginning of Philmore's crash back to earth, as not all is well in his fairytale vision of the royal marriage . . .
Character Quirks:
• In spite of his small speech impediment, Philmore has taken a liking to creating lines of rhyme and might even be inspired to say them (slowly). This was inspired by Nacre's songs - he hopes to one day craft the right words to go along with them, that she may at last learn of his undying love for her in the most romantic way possible.

• Philmore's got something of a dainty stature: slender and swift in the water, but outside of it he could've been mistaken for a mare if it weren't for, well . . . the beard.

• The necklace he wears is a gift from his mother, which was passed down from generation to generation as a talisman. The story behind it claims that the first mare of their line was so beautiful that it cased the god of the sea to fall in love, creating the necklace from materials found by the ocean she lived in.

• Philmore really does think he's a character in a romantic story, and as such is all too willing to see through a rose-colored lens. He's unwilling to believe anyone is an enemy unless they show traits of absolute evil, and even then his bleeding heart can't help but continue to pump a little hope that one day they might convert.

• The only time Philmore is not awkward is when he's swimming or at least in the water. Even in the presence of the princess, swimming busies him enough that he can't spend as much energy being all sldkfsdkjfhksjfhkdsjh around her.

The Story

Like most stories, the beginning of this one is based in the far reaches of the Kingdom's history - which makes sense really as there can hardly be a present or a story without a past to bring it all about. Many, many years ago, two prominent stallions had a disagreement. One the King of the Gypsies ..the other the hereditary King of the Kelpie Kingdom. Although they had lived in peace for many years this argument and slight was one that neither family could over look and a feud was started. A feud which has been passed down, warped...retold & pondered over for so many generations that the truth of the matter is all but unknown. The hatred however, that remains well intact, but isn't that always the way these sorts of things go?

In any case while the King and Queen of the land lament over the unhappiness of their daughter and her upcoming wedding to shy Prince Philmore, a necessary step in securing the Kingdoms future a Gypsy stallion, keen on securing himself fame, fortune and everlasting glory in the eyes of his people has been keeping watch on the events which are unfolding.

When the King, maddened by the fear that his daughter, the previously obedient Princess Nacre will undo everything by driving the Prince away with her sorrowful looks - and lets face it Prince Philmore would probably be pretty easy to scare off... - reacted by locking the Princess away until her wedding night, the scoundrel Gypsy saw his chance.

Hatching a plan to undo the Kingdoms future and dethrone the royals by luring away their one and only heir, Merikano...womanizer and charmer extraordinaire felt certain that he could succeed. Stealing into the Princess' chamber by night he glorified his people's way of life..telling her of the freedom and wonder of the world beyond her royal confines, learning of her love of the arts he danced for her until she wept (He was pretty sure that he saw tears) and kept carefully hidden his distaste for her highly annoying pet, a wretched octopus that once or twice he even faked enjoyment in playing with to impress her with his lovely and kind nature.

All was going to plan as far as Merikano knew, but he had been being watched...Prince Philmore, always watching with love and affection from afar, visiting the Princess in her tower to mumble a few words as duty forced him to do was secretly going quite worried about changes in the Princess temperament of late. He had been worried when she was sad...but became alarmed when her wonderful nature began to show signs of rebellion and free thinking that was highly unorthodox for a mare of her status. Certainly this was not shaping up to be the fairy tale courtship that he had always dreamed of. Gathering up his courage the gallant Prince Philmore strode forth to confront his future bride.

What he got when he arrived however was not the contrite sorry that he had expected - far from it! The Princess annoyed by what she had always perceived as Philmore's slighting of her in the past grew angry that now..when she might just be finding happiness with another was when the Prince decided to finally speak up. Angry and somewhat corrupted by Merikano's slow but steady whittling down of her morals the Princess demanded that Philmore to prove his love to her and to prove that he could be as spontaneous as the Gypsy whom had started to steal her heart, spend the night with her - something expressly forbidden by the rules of honor that the Royals lived by.

Stuttering, shocked and not quite sure what to say Philmore's reaction did little to appease the Princess and in a fit of frustration she sent him away, vowing to him that she would soon turn her innocent flirtations with the Gypsy into something more real. In a panic Philmore considered telling the Princess' father - in fact he tried to do so but in the face of such terrible news once more his stuttering got in the way and the King being busy with wedding preparations had little time to deal with his stuttering and honestly a bit too passive future son in law.

With no where else to turn and nothing left to try Philmore resorted to confronting the Gypsy himself. Waiting outside for the stallion to arrive Philmore repeated his carefully rehearsed plea over and over again in the hopes that he would get through the entire speech without stuttering. He was no match for the silver tongue Gypsy however and once in conversation with him was quickly turned about and mixed up until he came away thinking that perhaps the Gypsy was right - the Princess deserved to be free...didn't she?

By the time Philmore got his head back on straight and figured out that the Gypsy had played him, Merikano having dealt with the annoying Prince had already closed the deal and secreted the Princess away, leaving a panicked Prince Philmore in her stead and precious little time for him to set things right before the Royal wedding and the fate of the Kingdom came to pass.

Future Plots and Ideas
<>

*NOTE - We would actually like to RP out the Story above, thus is it just a template, the plots below will pick up once the story is completed *

Fugitives - Having secreted the Princess away successfully Merikano must now escort her safely back to his home...and avoid the guards that are almost certainly out looking for her by now. Aware that being caught as the Princess' kidnapper would no doubt end very badly for him Merikano is highly paranoid...but tries to pass it off as care for Nacre's well being..she dosen't want to get caught and be locked up again now does she? Or worse..marry the pansy Prince.

Meet the Clan - Having brought the Princess home safely she is introduced to the rest of Merikano's family. The Gypsy's having been made aware of Merikano's plot welcome the Princess with open arm's and plans a wonderful festival in her honor. Merikano cautions the other Gypsy's that Nacre must be convinced that she has made the right choice.

Bravely Serching - Prince Philmore having gathered what courage he has, has set out to look for the Princess and her abductor. The Prince refuses to believe that Nacre could be a willing participant in this as she has always loved her Kingdom deeply. She just has cold hooves about the wedding - he's sure of it! Philmore employs informants and soldiers to help him look.

Found..maybe? - Philmore has found his love..at long last they will be reuni...alrighty, that didn't go to plan at all. In fact the Prince is rather rudely driven off and the Princess well she seems to be quite taken by the Gypsy's who have taken her in...is it his imagination or is Merikano laughing at them both?

Uncertainty - And overheard discussion makes Nacre begin to doubt in Merikano's 'love' Could he really mean what he just said or did she misunderstand the context? If nothing else the seed of doubt has been sown.

Certainty - Nacre has been a bit more observant as of late and has come to the realization that Merikano has not been entirely truthful, She fights with him about it but he placate's her and does his best to show her how much he love's her. Nacre is settled for a little while but soon begins to notice the way the others are being super careful near her and get's suspicious all over again.

One last Chance - Despite her suspicions Nacre simply can't bear the thought that Merikano doesn't truly love her and does her best to try and prove that he does, She tells herself that he is merely too free willed to accept being tied down and tries to make him see that it's alright.

Escape! or not - Nacre finally comes to realize that nothing she can do will make Merikano be the stallion she once thought him to be and gathering her things she attempts to leave and return home - but is caught and finds herself a true prisoner of the Gypsy's

Revelation - Not long after her escape attempt, Nacre realizes that she is pregnant and with further horror knows that the father of her foals can be only one stallion. She pleads for mercy from Merikano in the name of their foals but quickly realizes that he doesn't care about her or them.

* This RP can go one of two ways a) She attempts and actually manages to escape this time or b) Merikano lets her go because he's already achieved his goal of ruining her in her families eyes.

Forgive and Forget? - Nacre returns home to her family begging their forgiveness but is only turned away by her parents because of what she did. Desperate and in need of shelter Nacre turns to Prince Philmore in the hopes that he might forgive her and help her win back her parents love.

Forgive and forget will set the stage for several options to the end of this particular story.

Option A - Prince Philmore takes the Princess back and raises the foals as his own even though neither his nor her parents are happy about it, a wedding is set for the two of them in the future.

Option B - The Prince does not take her back but does not turn her away fully, helping her to care for the foals until they are old enough to strike out on their own.

These choices then open the field for further options after that.

Option A - Nacre and the Prince live happily every after and eventually have foals of their own who grow up to help rule the Kingdom.

Option B - Nacre realizes that even though Merikano wronged her horribly he's still her one trule love and she returns to the Gypsy's with the challenge of trying to win him over for real.

Option C - Nacre leaves and strikes out on her own with the knowledge that her Kingdom no longer wants her.
