"Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are~"
Her voice was soft as she sang, walking with her eyes closed, her head bouncing some as she moved. She loved singing, honestly. It was fun. But that was for another story. The night was cool against her pale body, the stars shining brightly over head. She was moving in the forest near where her family was, but she wanted to see the stars unobstructed! She had heard stories from her mother about stars, and she wanted to witness it herself! And so, she sneaked away when her mother and father had fallen asleep with the other two foals, and was going on an epic search to see the stars!
Bellezza wiggled her ears when she stepped on a branch, before giggling and jumping down from a small hill like ridge onto another area. She never really wondered away, usually. She liked to stay very close to her mother and father, asking questions and learning from them. But they never took her out at night! The white haired foal wondered quietly around, looking quietly for anything that could possibly lead her to the stars in a better manner. She couldn't find much though, being it was wall to wall trees.
But there, ahead! A light in the brink of the tree line. Bellezza's tail wiggled in excitement, before she ran forward on her wobbly legs, and found her way to the edge of the forest, walking into a small, open meadow. Her head tilted up, staring toward the dark night sky. At first her eyes were drawn to the bright moon, glowing brightly in the sky. Before she glanced around, and saw the thousands upon thousands of stars. It was awe inspiring. She reared up on her hind legs, taking a couple steps forward, her body wiggling, turning in a small circle, before she fell back onto her back in the grass, legs in the air, bent somewhat, where her hooves were almost pressed to her chest. She smiled, staring quietly at the night sky, loving the sight of the twinkling lights all too much.
"It's so... beautiful.." She whispered, voice soft as she laid in the grass.

Sophia Rose sighed as she looked around her, waiting for something exciting to happen, though she knew that it woudln't. Night after night, same old same old... but that's how the world was, was it not? Beings were content to fall into the repetitive, boring, and arduous task called life, forgetting their pursuit of perfection and opting to... mate... and have children, giving up the freedom they had once had. It was disgusting. Not to mention, most of these beings were butt ugly. Why would they want to have children anyways? She just didn't understand the mind workings of the lesser animals, or her peers, to be truthful.
She was away from Lucius this night. He hadn't come to her, so she had sneaked away like some mischievous child, wishing to have some time alone. She wandered if she'd be able to find Ignis somewhere nearby... or perhaps he'd forgotten about her and her brother. IT wouldn't be surprising, for they'd been out of the nest for months now. And she'd been constantly corralled by her possessive mate, so it wasn't as if she could visit him when she pleased. Oh well. The only semblance of family she had ever known was gone. Who cared.
Something flashed out of the corner of her eye, and she snapped her head towards it. Her excitement peaked; her blood lust twitched within her stomach. She might have to find something to kill soon, if she didn't find something else exciting. But wait! There was something, a creature, no! A tiny foal had just ran out of the forest, looking as if she was in a dream, giggling and smiling and frolicking all over the place. Sophia Rose wondered if she was brain-damaged, perhaps, but then something else caught her eye--the filly's markings. They were so... familiar... no, it couldn't be. But perhaps it was...
She decided her course of action and fluttered her wings at her sides, rearranging the glistening feathers. She moved forward, towards the filly, putting on a friendly face, though she felt anything but kindness. Her violent nature churned in her mind, barely suppressed by her curiosity. If she didn't find anything interesting about his filly, the perhaps she'd give her a few good bites. Perhaps her blood was sweet...

Bellezza wiggled in the grass, getting completely comfortable, her eyes softly looking up at the stars. They were definitely pretty! Her mother hadn't lied when she said that nothing was as breathtaking as the full stars on a beautiful night! Her ears swiveled a bit, before she smiled and lifted one leg farther, slightly pawing at the open air, like she was trying to get the stars to come back to her, before she let her leg fall back into a comfortable position, tail swaying happily, her eyes bright.
It was then that a shadow seemed to cast toward the little foal. Bellezza's eyes flickered at the sudden darkness, before she tilted her head to stare toward the approaching female, her body tensing slightly, before she rolled over, laying on her side and legs. The white haired foal took in the sight of the taller female, blinking at the eccentric design she seemed to have. Her ears perked, Bellezza stood slowly, taking a small step back, her tail wiggling, before she eyed the female a bit more.
"... Were you eating berries, Miss? You look like you were!" She said, her voice somewhat pitched from curiosity, before she wiggled her ears, smiling toward the female for a few moments. "Either way, you're really pretty! I like your wings. And your hair feathers." She said, her eyes closing, still smiling toward the female. She took a small step forward, before holding her position, staring at the female with bright purple eyes.

Sophia wrinkled her nose in distaste as the little foal wagged her tail. Did the tiny being ever stand still? She couldn't remember moving around that much as a foal, or ever being that excited. Then again, the voices in her mind had started early, and she had learned to listen to them.
She remembered her intentions, and instantly put on the friendly face again. But her chest warmed with the blood lust growing within her, not to mention the growing unease that something was... horribly familiar about this filly's markings. If she wanted to figure anything out, she'd have to do it before she gave in to the voices whispering at the edge of her consciousness.
"Berries?" She repeated, half in disbelief and half in wry humor. No, she didn't eat berries. Not usually, though she used to all the time as a foal. Now it was hard to eat anything but the coarse grass that grew within the woods where Lucius hunted her, but it's not like she had an appetite. Her greatest delicacy was blood--it was like the sweetest syrup from a maple tree.
"Why... yes, I have eaten berries. Silly me, forgetting to wash." Would she think that the dried blood on her adornments was berry juice too? Sooner or later, she'd have to suspect the substance for its real nature.
Then a sly grin came to her shapely mouth. Ah, yes, this one DID have a brain. She was smart enough to mention Sophia's beauty, of which she needed no reminder but enjoyed the admiration of lesser beings. Still, she could see the budding beauty in this one's eyes, which were also so similar to hers, though more of a shade of purple than the deep red of Sophia's.
"Thank you, little girl. Perhaps you will be as beautiful as I one day." Haha. Unlikely. "I must comment on your markings--do you notice the similarity between them and mine? Here, look." She turned her neck, revealing the twisting markings at the base. Then she leaned low, comparing her eye markings to the filly's. Though the filly only had them on one side of her face, they were almost identical to Sophia's. More disbelief and anger budded in her chest. She had never knew her parents, had only learned of their tragic story from Ignis, but she had never thought that this might happen. That, perhaps, she'd find her way to them. And what if it was true? What if... what if this little filly was her... sister?
Her eyes narrowed. She hated the thought of her parents. She hated the thought of lesser siblings. And she hated everything else, everything but her mate, brother, and adoptive father. The world was beneath her, and she wouldn't let it forget that.
"We look so much alike, tiny one. It's almost as if we're sisters," she teased, winking a long-lashed eye. "Tell me, what do your parents look like? Can I meet them?"
Then she straightened, remembering that she had to be careful. She didn't want to scare this filly away if she truly was her chance at revenge against her parents. She had to befriend her, make her trust the beautiful being before her. "Forgive me, child. I've forgotten my manners. My name is Sophia Rose--what is yours?"

Bellezza watched the female with curiosity pooling in those purple orbs. She tilted her head to one side, eying all the "berry juice" the female had gotten on her. Perhaps Bellezza could show her to a stream in a little bit! But right now she was more distracted taking in the sight of the stunning mare. The most stunning feature that Bellezza couldn't get out of her mind were those striking eyes. She seemed almost captivated by them, but shook the thoughts from her mind, focusing on the mare as a whole.
"I thought so... I know a really good river area that is really, really pretty! I go there when I need to wash up. I could take you if you want!" She said, grinning brightly before her ears flicked, and then she tilted her head at the mare again, as if expecting her to agree to the terms. Though, her mind got drawn to something behind the mare, a star falling from the sky. Her eyes widened for a second, and she reared up trying to see it better, but it was gone. A small pout crossed her features, but she was soon distracted by Sophia's words.
As beautiful as that mare? Bellezza could only hope! Her father, she thought, was amazing! He was handsome and just, awe inspiring! If she could be like her father, and this mare, then she'd be pretty much golden! Bellezza smiled brightly, her tail wiggling for several seconds, before she blinked and looked down toward her own markings on her small body. She shifted, her smile turning to a frown, before she looked back to Sophia, and then back to her own. When she felt the mare shifting, her eyes flickered and locked once more upon the mare.
She could have compared for hours, but it only took Bellezza a few moments to notice that they did, in fact, look very similar. They were both a soft purple color in base, though Bellezza felt she was a bit darker, and the markings... They were so similar it was almost frightening. She tilted her head, eyes flickering back toward the mare in front of her, before she let her ears fall back against her head. "We are... But how can that be?" The wink though, seemed to make Bellezza almost want to believe her. Did she have an elder sister that she didn't know about? She'd have to ask her papa soon. That was the only way to find out.
"Well... Mama and Papa are sleeping with my brother and sister... I don't wanna wake them up.. Cause I kinda sneaked away without Mama and Papa knowing.. Um! But, Mama always calls Papa D... Devicius.. and Papa calls Mama Charlotte..." She said, her face shifting to a quizzical look, before she glanced back up toward the female, staring for a few seconds. "My name is Bellezza... Could we really be sisters Miss Sophia Rose?" She asked, looking at her with almost expecting, hopeful eyes.

Sophia almost giggled--she'd tried to wash the blood off before, but it was a permanent stain. It was more than just the remainder of one of her victims; it was the reminder of the taint of her soul, and of the troubled forces that lived within her mind. Even if she washed, it would do no good. She doubted that she'd be taking the filly up on her offer.
A slight satisfaction grew within her as the filly's face slowly changed from admiration, to awe, then to disbelief and perhaps a mix of fear. She should be afraid, she should know that talking to strangers was a major mistake. Especially ones with the guise of a rose, for the thorns always proved to be sharp.
Ah, so her family didn't know she was here. That was all the better--it'd be easier to manipulate her, if need be. And, if Sophia somehow felt the need to kidnap her, or perhaps attack her to sate her bloodlust, she'd be able to escape before the filly's family could come to her aid. How perfect!
"Devicius?" she murmured, letting the name roll over her tongue. Could this Devicius be her father? Did Ignis ever mention that name to her? Come to think of it, she couldn't remember, but it did sound awfully familiar. Something in her twitched and twisted at the sound of it, and she could barely suppress a growl in her throat. And what about this Charlotte? Could she be her mother? No... Ignis had told her that her parents had split abruptly and violently, and would never be with eachother again. So either this Devicius was her father, or Charlotte was her mother... but both of them could not be her parents.
She looked back down into Bellezza's eyes, hating the hopeful glimmer she saw there. Curse her, the foolish little girl. If she knew how Sophia really was, she wouldn't be wishing for a sister, oh no. She'd be whining and begging for her life, like the weak little being she was.
"Well... I suppose we could be. Now, if you wouldn't mind, I really would like to see your parents. We won't have to wake them, I promise. We can sneak up on them, like we're playing a game of hide-and-seek. And then, after I've seen them, we can run away and play some more. And maybe, just maybe, I'll fix your hair for you. Wouldn't you like that, Bellezza?"
She leaned down and gave a wide, reassuring smile. Her teeth were as white as snow.

Bellezza watched her for several seconds, taking in the sight of the female. She looked so contemplative. What was she thinking about? The tiny foal looked back over her shoulder for a second, before glancing to the female once more. Her short tail flicked slightly, before she took a small step back, and pawed at the grass under her hoof. She waited quietly, but at the same time, she wanted to go and find that river and help the female get the berry juice off her body! Bellezza was certain the female was a lot prettier without all that stain!
She nodded her head, causing her bangs to flip along her, at the name. Yeah, that sounded like her papa's name. She turned and looked back at the woods, and then up at the sky. It was getting late... She should be getting home. But the prospect of games, and getting her hair done, was far too tempting. Bellezza nibbled on her lower lip for a second, before she glanced back at the stunning mare, and nodded her head in agreement. "Okay... Follow me! But you have to be /really/ quiet, or Papa could wake up." She stated, almost sternly.
Turning, the small foal trotted back toward the woods, before she started to climb and maneuver her way over hills and around trees. She could easily slip through the branches and brush, knowing the area far too well, before she looked back, ensuring Sophia was following, before she crept quietly along a brush line, and then ducked in, to open up to a small area where her family was sleeping. Her tail wiggled some, and she smiled, seeing that comfortable spot for her where her mother laid.
"That's my mama and papa... and my brother and sister..." She whispered, making sure the noise wouldn't catch any of her family's ears, in case they were to wake.

Sophia nodded at Bellezza's command to be quiet, willing to agree to anything to get the soft-hearted little creature to lead her to her parents. She fell in step behind the filly, who led her through the woods for what seemed like ages. She stepped carefully, making sure that the forsaken branches didn't snag her perfect hair, and that her hooves didn't get stuck in any mud. She hated just trudging through the damn woods--she only liked to follow well-worn paths and sleep in comfortable clearings. Walking through the dirt and snags was not for a creature as beautiful as she.
She sighed when the foal finally stopped, peeking through the bushes into a tiny, secluded clearing. Sophia gathered herself, for once actually feeling nervous about something. Did she really want to know? Would she actually discover one of her parents? Her hate overcame her hesitation, however, and she stepped forward, red eyes squinting to take in the sight of the family.
She gasped.
"Adrian?" she whispered, her voice caught in her throat. But wait, no. That stallion sleeping in the middle of the clearing was not her brother, only a remarkable resemblance. He possessed the exact same colored hair, the flowing waves and half-finished curls, the torn top hat, the dark markings on his legs, the silken bows and shining jewels, the Angeni wings that she'd always wondered about. Here was the near-twin of her brother.
Here was her father.
A sudden wave of anger and hatred engulfed her, and the voices rose in her mind. 'Traitor... weakling... no good... maim... kill...,' they whispered in the scratchy, ethereal tone. But she held herself back, a small grunt coming from her throat. No, it wouldn't do to just attack him in his sleep. She had to make him suffer, as her mother had, as her and her brother had. She had to take the family from him that he had taken from her. Stupid males!
SHe tried to calm herself, her red eyes flaring with enraged fire. She looked towards the other three forms in the clearing--a plain purple mare and two crossbreed children. That mare was not her mother, she was sure of it. She seemed too plain, ugly even. But then why was her supposedly lecherous father with such a mare? And why did they have children? Were these foals, these plain, stupid, ignorant foals, more important that her and Adrain had been? He found it pleasing to leave their mother and his first batch of children, like discarding trash, and pursue another? Her mind was exploding with emotions and thoughts, and she was slowly losing her sanity. She had found her father, now what would she do? She would make him suffer.
She glanced back down, ever so slowly, the inviting look gone from her eyes and replaced with the predatory glow. Bellezza... her sister. Yes, she had suspected it. Now she knew. And she had a perfect pawn to play in the game.
"Bell... such a pretty name. Pretty... like your damned pretty father." Her voice was sweet, but behind the honey lay a river of venom. "Thank you for showing me your family Bell. As much as I'd like to stay, I think it's time to leave. Come now, child. Let's go PLAY." Without waiting for an answer, she reached out with a wing and corralled the filly away from her family, into the deeper blackness of the forest.

Bellezza smiled toward her family, loving the sight of them. Oh yes, that warm spot looked oh so inviting. She actually took a half step forward, her tail wiggling excitedly, before she sniffed slightly, something feeling wrong. Her ears pinned back, but her eyes flickered along her family in a quizzical manner. There was nothing wrong near them. Everything seemed fine. Her father was laying like normal... all of them were, actually. She tilted her head, eying every last possible detail between the four other horses, before her eyes flickered up at the sound of Sophia's voice.
Adrian? Who was that? Her eyes filled with confusion as she watched the female, before she glanced back at her family, and then back at Sophia. She seemed torn between too many emotions, and the grunt almost sent a chill down her spine. She side stepped slightly, moving away from her, before her eyes flicked to her family, eying her parents. Yes, something felt very wrong. She gulped, ears pinning back against her head, before she tried to take another step away, only to stop at the sound of Sophia's voice. Her ears pinned up, pointed toward her. "... Don't talk like that about my papa!" She whispered in that hushed tone, before her spine got that shiver again.
It was then she realized just what was happening. Bellezza's eyes flickered up, growing wide, and as she tried to back up, she felt the wing pushing her in another way. She flailed slightly, tried to dig her hooves into the ground, anything. Kicking and flailing, the tiny foal let out distressed noises, knowing she wouldn't be able to outrun the taller female. She whimpered, before craning her neck back toward where her family was. "Mama! Papa!" Her voice was louder now, a shout of fear and need, still struggling against the bigger female, small tears all ready collecting against her cheeks.

Sophia ignored Bellezza's half-hearted struggles, quickening her pace until she was sure that she was running, and the foal must have been struggling to keep up at her side. She grabbed a clump of soft white hair with her teeth, just in case the filly tried to escape the confinements of her wing, but Bell was small enough that Sophia could easily drag her along without worry. Besides, when she fell into these crazed moods, it seemed that she possessed twice the strength as normal.
She dragged the girl for what seemed like hours, through the dark twists and turns of uncharted forest. Yes, she hated travelling through the bush like this, but at least she had a good reason to now. And she'd probably get lost, but all the better. Devicius wouldn't be able to find her as easily, and she could take her time getting back to her usual habitat... and Lucius.
Ah. Lucius.
When she seemed to be a good distance away, she stopped, letting go of Bell's hair. The foal would be foolish to try and escape now--she'd just lose herself farther withing the forest. No telling what kind of monsters lurked out there... but then again, Sophia wasn't any less than a monster. Any way, she doubted that she had to worry about losing Bell now. The filly looked absolutely exhausted, as well as terrified.
"You don't know, do you?" Sophia murmured, shaking her mane about her shoulders. She gave a small giggle, then composed herself. "Daddy never told you, did he? Well, too bad. It's a shame we had to meet like this, but at least I know now." Her voice was dry and sarcastic, hateful and coarse. She grinned down at Bell.
"Don't even try to run away, because I'll find you. And if you DO try to pull any tricks, well... I'll give you to my mate Lucius. He likes presents, especially ones with tender flesh. He'd be pleased with a snack, I daresay."

Devicius woke with a start, his hat flopping off his head and landing with a dull thud on the grass. Had he just heard someone scream? He could have sworn that someone had called for him... had called for "Papa".
He looked around quickly, scanning the clearing. Beside him, Charlotte was stirring. She must have heard it too... there was Dhiren, sleeping next to his sister, Evangeline. They looked so peaceful, lost in their dreams. And they were still sleeping, so did they not hear the noise? But something was wrong, he could feel it in his bones. Becoming a father had lent him a sort of sixth sense when it came to his children... and...
Bell! She wasn't here!
"Bellezza! Bell! Bell, where are you?" he called, his eyes shifting this way and that. There was no sign of his nearly look-alike daughter, only the soft impression where she had curled up next to Charlotte. Where had she gone? She was known to be adventurous--perhaps she had wandered off on her own? But he had her call him, he was sure of it. What had happened to her? Where was his sweet, kind, joyous little girl?
"Charlotte!" he exclaimed, his voice hurried and panicked. "Bellezza's gone. She's gone!"

Bellezza felt her heart jump in her throat, whimpering as she tried to dig her hooves into the ground again. She was scared, and wanted to run away, wanted to flee as far as she could away from the female. Her ears pinned back, she tried to turn her head, and turn around the female, but felt teeth snag into her hair, and against part of her skin. Letting out a small scream of pain, Bellezza felt her body pulled up, her front hooves lifting off the ground, so she was basically walking on just her back legs.
"Please... Please! I wanna go home! I want my mama and papa! I wanna go home!" She cried out, tears still running down her soft purple fur. She again tried to dig her back hooves in. It felt like hours were passing, with her sobbing and struggling to get free. Until, completely lost, Sophia let go of her. Bellezza practically fell down onto her knees, sobbing quietly, her body shaking from fear. She wanted her family. She should have never left! She quietly wished that she could take it back, that she could just have never gone out, and could go home.
Her head lifted, very slightly, white hair falling into her face. She could feel something wet running down her pale skin, and if it wasn't slobber, it was blood, and she didn't doubt that the mare's sharp teeth could have pierced what flesh it had snagged. Sniffling, Bellezza stared up at Sophia, her body shaking still. She didn't know where she was, or what was going on. What about her father? He didn't do anything wrong... did he? She whimpered gently, her ears flicking down against her head.
When the words of a mate hit her ears, Bellezza cried out in fear and scrambled to her feet, backing up slightly away from Sophia, fear once more entering her eyes. "P... Please no! I just wanna go home! I don't wanna be eaten by a monster... I don't... Don't..." The words fell from her throat, unable to speak them any more. She couldn't find them. She couldn't think any more. Bellezza sniffled, head lowered, eyes fluttering from the tears.

Charlotte's ears flicked, her eyes fluttered open with a start, her heart pounding. She felt cool air against her back and scrambled to her hooves, Devicius' words sinking in and chilling her thundering heart. "Belle?" She looked around, hoping that Devicius was mistaken, that her baby girl was indeed not gone. She stepped in a circle looking franticaly, her stomach twisting with worry. Tears were brimming in her eyes and she was unable to stop them from over flowing.
"How is she gone?! My baby girl?" She looked to Dev with watery tragic eyes, feeling lost and defeated. She looked over to her other two stirring children, their loud voices probably waking them, tears still flowing and heart wrenching sobs shaking her. "How....how did....when? Why didn't I wake up when she wasn't there?!" Frustrated and distraught she actually growled a little, upset with herself.

Sophia sighed, her eyes shifting to look around her in the forest. Even though her threat had been a good one, she doubted that it'd be made real any time soon. Lucius was most likely far away from here, and even if she could somehow make her way back to her usual spot, he might not show himself for nights. She'd tire of her sister by then, most likely. This lucid thought was almost startling to her--she preferred living in the insane moment.
She turned her head back towards Bell, frowning at the filly's tears. She was weak, just like almost every other being she'd met. What was wrong with this world? Why couldn't anyone hold their own anymore? And there seemed to be a great lack of beauty to boot.
"You're not going back, any time soon. You're going to stay with me. We'll have plenty of fun, you'll see."
She heard a small scrambling sound behind her--ah, a small rat was trying to sneak its way across the grass. It was just what she needed to sate the lust within her. With an almost animalistic growl, she pounced upon the small animal with her hooves, trampling it into the ground until its corpse was flat and bloody. Then, with a grin, she leaned down and licked up some of the blood, relishing the metallic taste. The voice in her head sighed--she instantly became more lucid.
She turned to Bell and smiled, almost affectionately. "Are you hungry, little girl? Try some. It's good."
________________________________________________________________________
Devicius turned to Charlotte, his eyes scanning the forms of his other two children. Please, let them sleep a little longer. He didn't want them to hear this, to feel the same panic that he felt. He had to think clearly, to figure out a way to find Bell.
"Charlotte, it's not your fault. I didn't wake either. She... she must have sneaked off. But I could have sworn I heard her call us. And... and something doesn't feel right. I think something's wrong."
He turned his head and sniffed the air, trying to catch a scent. He could barely pick out Bell's soft scent, as well as something harder and... muskier? Like a black rose on a dark night. And, with a pang of fear, he realized that the faint scent of blood also drifted through the air.
"I think someone took her, Charlotte. We've got to find her."
