Neela stood in the shallow part of the river, water splashing up over knees as she got a cool drink. It was so peaceful in this area, and the fact that her coat and hair were finally back to pristine condition after their swamp adventure only added to her good mood. Once Zachary came back with whatever food he went to find, everything would be perfect. Nice weather, food, and her handsome man. She thought she saw a figure not too far away, and curiosity winning out over cautiousness, she squinted and moved closer to see who it could be.

Teagan was also by the river, staring into its crystalline depths and contemplating life...Yeah no, he thought with a smirk. Reflection was for losers, and others of his family he assumed. Not spending much time around them caused him to assume they did not enjoy his choice of living, that is to say his choice of living wasn't awesome, and so he figured them all to be losers. Smirk still in place, he moved to the edge of the river and leaned down to take a drink when from his peripherals he saw a being move slowly towards him. Lifting his head he stared at them till they became clearer and immediately a charming smile took over his face. A lady was wading her way through the water, gravitating to his amazingness. He shrugged his shoulders and couldn't help but agree with her, he is awesome. "Hello dear lady!" He called to her, getting her attention.

Neela froze once she could see the stallion clearly, and her jaw must have dropped open. The similarities were.. amazing! He had to be the spitting image of Zachary. She couldn't remember if he'd ever told her his father's name but she smiled and made her way over. "Hello. I'm Neela, nice day to be out here, huh?" She had to do something to keep him around until Zach got back, so some idle chit chat would have to do. "I haven't seen many others around lately, what brings you out here good sir?"

"Hi, I'm Teagan." He replied, the same charming smile in place. She looked naive enough to just believe the grin; perhaps he might put a little smolder into his eyes as well. "It is quite a nice day out to be sure. I was thirsty and heard this river nearby. I never expected to find such a beauty in the water." He looked at all of her now. Oh yeah, she was pretty. Her hair was blue and black, and her coat matched her hair. Nice, he couldn't help thinking. "How is your day going?" Conversation was good, ladies liked conversation...Might lead to something more later on...

She couldn't help but giggle. Oh Zach had pegged him perfectly. "Well it must be your lucky day then. Some form of fate or destiny, what have you, that we met today." She couldn't help but look him over, though he probably saw it as her checking him out, when she really was just picking out the traits she saw in Zach. The braid she loved so much, the strip of color in the bangs, and even the way the spots trailed along his back. There was no doubting who this stallion was. "My day is going very well, thank you! I hope your day has been good as well?"

He took in a deep inhale of breath, letting the refreshing air fill his lungs, it was such a lovely day and he was enjoying every moment of it traveling with Neela. After the mess with the swamp, they had continued their way on their search for their fathers, Neela allowing Zachary to always lead the way. For the time being the two of them had stopped on their search to rest and search for food to fill their empty stomachs; while Neela relished the feeling of the cold mountain water, the colorful stallion went in search of something edible. He quickly came across a bush filled with blackberries and he smiled, for they were his favorite and he fervently hoped that Neela loved their sweet taste as much as he. Quickly and carefully he made his way back to Neela with his stash, only to see that she was communicating with a stallion whose appearance reminded Zach of someone, his teal eyes cast into the reflective surface of the river and the similarities were shocking, could it be?
The zen loving stallion made his way to his love, careful about the berries and listening intently to the words the two of them shared, was the stallion flirting with Neela? Zachary’s eyes widened as he heard his father present Neela with the corny pick up line and he let out an amused snort, which threatened to turn into a laugh, so he quickly turned it into a cough, but the mirth was still evident in his voice when he turned to the dark colored mare, “Neela, who’s your friend?” He decided that he would wait to drop the bomb on the flirtatious stallion; the fact that he was a father might come as a slight shock.

Neela laughed just in time to turn and see what could look like this stallion's twin. "This is Teagan," she winked at Zach. "He's real friendly, but there's just something about him that reminds me so much of you." She turned back to Teagan and smiled at him, there was no way he could deny the resemblance between the two of them. "Ooh what did you find?" She nosed through his stash curiously and snuffled up some of the tasty berries.

Zachary smiled at the mare, “Black berries, I hope you like them,” then he turned his attention back to the raving stallion, cocking his head to the side as he pretended to study the spotted stallion, “I could be asking you the same question, the resemblance is quite unnerving.” The rainbow colored stallion was surprised how this encounter with his father was happening, it was not like anything he had imagined before, yes he knew that he looked like Teagan, but it was not until that moment had he realized the full extent of that truth, “Well I am not your doppelganger if that is what you are asking… I am your son.”

Blank stare...Thats the only way one could describe Teagan Elric's facial expression in this one moment. What thoughts could be running through his head?, one might ask. The answer, none. He was literally dumbfounded at this kids audacity to assume that he would be his son. "Son? I don't think so. I mean look at me! Do I look like the kind of guy that would make mistakes?!" For serious, Teagan always made sure he was careful about such things. Because kids were for people like his family, not for him.

Neela munched on the berries and then frowned as she looked at Teagan. "How can you be so blind? He's the spitting image of you! He's been looking for you, only wanting to meet his father, and you're going to stand there and deny him even that?" She gave Teagan a once over. "I thought you were better than that, but I guess first impressions can be wrong." She softened her gaze at Zach and hoped he would be okay dealing with this predicament.

"I'm blind?! Listen here kid, I know this guy can't be my son because its pretty much impossible! I mean, being a dad is for losers who can stand kids. And I would have to have realtions with someone and not be careful about it, and since I am super careful about such things, I know this to be a falsehood. And the fact you believe this imposter makes me think that maybe God was glad to be rid of you." He resdponded, referring back to his pick up line, one he now knew she wouldn't accept because she wasn't the smartest horse in the field.

Zachary smiled his thanks to Neela for sticking up for him to this stallion who was his father, no matter how much the latter convinced himself that it wasn’t so and that he ‘did not make mistakes’. Truth be told it did sting to hear those harsh words from the stallion who helped participate in his creation, but he let the punitive words wash away from him, similar to how rain washes away the old sediment of the earth to allow in the new growth. Zachary tensed as Teagan spat the intolerable words to the mare he loved, “You know, I had been hoping when I met you that this would turn out differently and that you would be able to see sense, but I guess I was wrong, wrong about so many things that pertained to you, father. You did make a mistake, but I am glad you did, for if you did not met up with my mother that one valentines night, I would not be here today standing next to the mare that I love.” Zachary took a step closer to the stallion, “Oh and Teagan, I would much appreciate it if you took back what you said about Neela, for one should not speak in matters that they themselves do not understand.”

Neela really didn't care what he had to say about her, this wasn't about her; it was about him and his son. But she blinked at the words coming out of Zachary's mouth, and they pleased her greatly. She leaned her head against his neck with a content smile. "I'm glad you screwed up as well, Teagan. Because even from such a shallow individual such as yourself, a handsome gentleman was born, and I'm so thankful he was."

"You are not my kid! Are you sure you aren't on of my sibling's kids! We all look alike, so maybe that’s why you think I am your dad! But seriously, you are both starting to annoy me, with all your true love nonsense." He shook his head in exasperation, clearly confounded when they both were glad he made mistakes. He doesn't make mistakes; he is too perfect for that.

Zachary shook his head sadly at the pathetic thing that was known as his father, “I am truly sorry that you cannot accept what you see and open your heart to your family; I had always wished to know my father and now that I have met him, I still feel as if a part of me is missing,” his voice was filled with sadness as he spoke to Teagan, “We will leave now, never to bother you again. Good bye father, I hope that you find happiness in your life.” The rainbow stallion turned away from the stallion who looked so much like him but was different in many aspects, he gave a kind smile to Neela as they walked away from the denial ridden stallion and Zachary still bearing carefully the blackberries, knowing that at least something good will come out of this day.
