Devil had convinced his father to allow him to be off and on his own for the day. He told his father that he was strong enough to do whatever he wanted, and that he could handle wandering away from their territory for a few hours. By nature he was very dominating and demanding in his speech, so when his father agreed he rushed away from his siblings and took the opportunity to enjoy himself. He wanted to go beyond where they lived and see what else existed in the land.

When he made it out of the huge forest that surrounded his home, and arrived at an open field. He grunted lightly when he noticed the abundance of snow, and he also was mad to see that nothing was in the landscape. Rather then giving up, Devil trotted forward to examine the area itself. The landscape was huge, and to the right in the distance he could see the mountains his father spoke about. He would go explore those mountains when he grew older. The mountains were much too dangerous in the wintertime, but come spring he would make his way there. It was a challenge he could use to prove himself to his father, so with time he would make himself stronger and climb up the mountains.

He then looked to the left and saw even more land flowing into the distance. Apparently he had a lot to investigate in the new plain he was in, so without further ado he trotted forward and tried to keep himself focused on his task. He wanted to find something new and exciting. But with how the snow was looking, he wondered if such a thing was possible.

Astrophel didn't have a mother, or a mother figure. Lailah had gone off for her flying lesson; he was regretting not asking if he could join her. He knew that flying was natural for him, but it was unsure of himself and wanted someone there in case something happened. He was always doing exercises with his wings to make sure they would be strong enough. So when the morning came he didn't have to answer to anyone when he wondered away from the teepee. It had spent the night at Luna's teepee. It was another hectic morning. So it was easy for him to take off.

"Oh man..."He mumbled some, looking back to see some fuse with the usdia's. He felt for the usdia foal. Her mother would constantly forget who she was. His wings instinctively flexed out and stretched. But it was at that point his stomach started to grumbled. "I wonder if I can find anything this time." Making his way down the short path; there was a small feild, it looked pretty undisturbed, so he might get first pick if there was anything. That was one of the few good things about the snow.

With his head focused on one thing, when he reached the open area, he didn't notice the other foals steps in the snow, or even his presence. He leaned his head down to snuff at the snow looking for something to eat. He was able to find some frozen snow, but what he would give for an apple... He groaned wondering if he should make the effort to the small gathering of to leggers for some... It was then that when he looked over, he noticed that someone had just been there, and he made a point to follow, not that the other had made it all that far. He hadn't met another male yet.

Many minutes went by of dull wandering, and Devil snorted at how boring the open field was. Every now and then something random would catch his attention, like a flock of birds flying overhead or the sound of snow crunching. Wait, crunching? The foal then took a double take and realized he wasn't the only one making a crunching noise in the snow. With swift movement, he turned himself in a circle and tried to examine what exactly was around him. Or rather, make sure he wasn't going crazy from the familiar walking-noise.

His empty eyes widened when he finally saw his culprit, and the image of the other foal was enough to complete his personal task for the day. The foal was MUCH different then he'd ever seen in his siblings. Devil had only heard about all of the creatures in the land, and now he was finally seeing one he'd never imagined before. With the multiple wings Devil could guess that it was probably an angeni, but one could never be too sure. Plus, his knowledge on all breeds were still lacking, but he did know that those with many wings were known to be angelic creatures. Well, considering that his father's knowledge was correct of course.

So without further ado, he made his way forward and called out to the other foal. He wasted no time getting the other's attention. "Hey! Are you following me or something?" When he was close enough to the other creature he halted himself so that he could leave enough gap-room between them. His father had always taught him to be careful when approaching strangers, even if one thought they weren't threatening or violent. His eyes continued to survey the other colt with actual curiosity, and it was an emotion he hadn't used in many days. Finally, he could find something new and brag about it to his siblings later on!

Astrophel looked around with his blue eyes, his wings stretched out and fluttered some, before relaxing back down. He watched the other foal with a growing curiously. He had a long flesh tail, and a horn on his head! What an interesting creature. But suddenly before he even knew it, the other colt was heading his way. Uh oh... that might not have been a good move following him. He backed up a few steps, his wings flapping a little.

"I.. Uh..." he stumbled over his words. fight or flight! a voice in his body yelled. That same one that haunted him... "S-sorry..." He mumbled out, fighting with the voice in his head. 'Go away! Don't ruin this for me!' he soon got the presence to go away, but it got stronger all the time. Sometimes, to the point he would black out, and wake up somewhere else. Shaking his head shied away from the male... "I'm sorry... My c-curiosity for the better of me..." He apologized. He had probably upset the colt by following him, following others probably wasn't a good idea. Shaking his head again; Lunar's curiosity seemed to have rubbed off on him.

He wondered what hte others breed was. But when he stopped a safe distance away, Astrophel raised his head, and tried his best to look confident; even though he was already failing at it. "I saw your marks in the snow, and then saw you walking... I was going to say hello."

The situation became even more amusing for Devil, and he cackled to himself while watching the doubt that shined on the other colt's face. Why was he so nervous? If he was a guy then why wasn't he sticking up for himself? Apparently they both had conflicting personalities, and that was another thing Devil wasn't used to with his own family members. Ha, so this really was going to be a new adventure! He supposed he should enjoy it while it lasted. Or rather, enjoy the toughness he felt around this other new guy!

"Apology accepted." He finally said, while swaying his tail back and forth. If the colt in front of him was this afraid, well, then Devil would have to tone down for the moment at least. If he scared him away then he wouldn't be able to learn what the other guy was! "Explain to me what you are, and what those wings of yours do." Devil eyed them cautiously and was hoping they wouldn't beam forward and attack him. "And you aren't the only one who's curious." he finally added with a smile.

Devil then made a circle around the mysterious colt and stopped when he was back and in front of him. "So you wanted to say hello? Why? If you were curious you could have just said 'WHAT ARE YOU' or something. Like I'm doing." he puffed his chest up then and knew that his way was obviously the better of the two. But that was only because he had been taught those ideas by his parents. And, whatever his parents taught him was clearly the knowledge of the world.

A feeling of relief slipped over him when his apology was accepted. Looking over at him he wanted as he got circled and tried his best to figure out the right answer. "Well firstly... I'm an Angeni. And... Well my wings let me fly." He smiled a little. "I reside up in the skies, when I'm not visiting two the two leggers at their teepees." He needed to get better at flying though; it wasn't to long ago he lost control and hit a tree!

"Well... you see, sometimes others don't like being bothered and stuff..." Astrophel was still in his shy stage. He was more then happy to talk when asked questions but still had some issues being forward. That was left to his other half. The half he had no idea about yet. He stirred because of his curiosity. "Would you... Mind telling me what you are?" He tilted his head a little shifting his weight into his hind legs, as his tail flicked to an itch. Being forward like he was something he hoped to grow into, well more so having a self confidence. He was still trying to figure out who he was after all.

An angeni? Oh, so this was one of those? Devil quirked his lip a bit as he thought about the name, and realized the other colt did look sort of angelic. His wings were at least impressive and neat. It was sort of humorous because in terms of opposites Devil and this colt had entirely different looks and breeds. That at least made this situation interesting. "Flying sounds like it'd be sweet." he then said, while glancing upward and wondering what it was like. "And two leggers? Ha! I like to chase them for fun!" But eventually they'd chase him and his siblings back, so that situation never worked out well.

"As for me, I'm a unicorn. Son of Antichrist and Anarchy, brother of many." He closed his eyes lightly and envisioned his wonderful family. "The name's Devil. How about for you?" He and his siblings all carried appropriate names that were chosen by their parents the second they exited their baskets. Devil loved his name, and wouldn't change it for the world. "And I like bothering others. Its my right to do what I want, and I mean, you also have that right. You just have to know how to use it." Devil figured that everyone could use the rules they wanted, as long as they backed them up somehow. That was how his older brothers functioned, and he rather liked a life of self-created rules!

"So what family do you come from?" From his knowledge, everyone came from big families. So he was curious to hear about the other foals situation.

Astrophel felt that tickle again from the catcher on his leg. With a shake it went away... "Flyings not to bad. But I think its wise to know the ground too... Flying in storms isn't all that safe..." He thought of a few stories he had heard and shivered. "Hm... I guess that could be fun... Though I don't think Luna would like it. She might swat me on the nose." He laughed a bit. All of Luna's horses were 'well behaved' if you will. So he had no idea how she would handle someone like Devil.

"Wow, really a Unicorn!?" He thought they were simply stories, but then again he heard things like he was just a story from others. He laughed at the ironicalness of this now. "Ooh... Those sounds like very intense named..." He had no idea what the meaning of them were, but they had a strange ring to it. "Devil, I'm Astrophel." He nodded. He was starting to pick up on that whole opposites thing now. But with that recognition it stirred again himself him... Let me out to plaaaay The voice called. This one can me MY friend. Astrophel seemed to become quite as he mentally yelled back at the voice. Little to his knowledge his other half and Devil would probably get along rather well... He missed Devil's who talk on rules and doing things they want.

"Ah Family?" He blinked at him and wondered. "Family... " He had no idea REALLY wanted a family was, since he didn't and never had one. But he had seem them. "I don't have one." He wondered it it was a really bad thing or not. But then again.. Hilaire, and then those over at Luna's treated him similar to family... Would they could?"

Flying in storms? Oh my, that sounded wonderfully dangerous and extreme! "Man, there is a lot of dangerous stuff you could do with wings. Like, diving off of ledges and not knowing how far you'll go. Or, trying to scare people from above and taunting others..." he chuckled then and figured the other colt would probably dislike such ideas. Devil was extreme in most of the things that he did, and he would be the first to admit that.

When he noticed Astrophel's reaction to him being a unicorn, he puffed his shoulders out even more than usual. "Well, its good ta meet you, Astrophel. You should consider yourself lucky that I decided to be nice today. I mean, we are both colts, so I don't see why I shouldn't be civil. I was curious as to what you are, and you the same." he bobbed his head then and gazed his eyes out and on the landscape. "What does someone like you usually do for fun?" In truth, he was clueless about what others did every day. So all of this knowledge and learning was awesome for him!

When he heard the colt respond towards his family comment, he widened his eyes and frowned lightly. Astrophel didn't have a family?! Or wait... it seemed like he lived by others. "Yeah, I don't see why they wouldn't be your family. If they've raised you, that makes them similar to what my own parents did." He blinked then and still found it shocking. "So, you don't have siblings then?" Astrophel at least had others to keep him busy and social though, so that was a relief to hear. But, what did family mean exactly? Devil thought that it meant blood ties, but maybe there was more to it?

"Well then i guess its just my lucky day." Astrophel looked to the side. Boy was this other colt full of himself. But it wasn't all that bad. He was at least forward enough to keep the conversation going and stuff. "What do I do for fun?" This was something that the angeni had to stop and think about. Fun? He wasn't to aware of the meaning was, but he head Starlet and bouncing around with that Daytona squeaking about fun. Maybe when he did things with her and soem of the others, that was was fun was. She stopped to think about it.

"Well... I guess playing with the foal in the herd I spend my time with. " He nodded a little bit. "I live up in the sky, so when I come here I go and see them. There's a cute little foal there... She's full of energy." He nodded some. He was being taught to take his spiritual form from those above currently. "Thats fun right? Playing?" It wasn't that he was completely clueless. But none of the others took on that parent roll to teach him what this was and that.

"Thats right... No siblings." He knew what siblings meant because Starlet was siblings with Runa. "I want to have a family some day." He said. It seemed almost natural to him. Ah well... He was kept busy. "Hey whats your family like?"

"Of course playing is fun!" he was excited at the thought, since afterall, he was still just a colt! But hm, why was Astrophel asking him something so simple? Maybe his life was much different than Devil had suspected? "If you enjoy playing with the foal you speak of, and if you have a good time, then it is indeed something entertaining to do." Devil's situation wasn't much different, he had his siblings to keep him busy. And, hopefully he would meet some other random encounters like the one he met today.

"If you want a family badly then you'll be able to have it soon." he then exclaimed, while being quite confident with such a statement as well. "It's simple, really. As my father has taught me, there are many in this land who don't try hard enough to get what they want. But, for us lucky few who desire our dreams and hopes, achieving is very easy." In a sense he was passing his knowledge off on the other colt. A part of him was showing off since he had gained such valuable information. But, another part of him was glad to help. It felt nice to share things that really mattered.

"Heh, my family is crazy." he then added, while swishing his mane back in delight. "But crazy makes me and them happy." He was feeling comfortable and relaxed, and before when he went in to meeting the colt he felt a usual stiffness and eagerness to stand the other colt up. But, now that they were chatting naturally, he found the entire process to be easier than he expected! "My family is probably kind of intimidating, too. But we aren't mean without reason." He then winked at Astrophel and laughed lightly. They were harsh to those who deserved it!

"oh yes, I find playing with her very entertaining!." He nodded with a confidence at this. Though now that he though of it Starlet wouldn't be a foal for much longer... He thought for a moment. But judging from how Forte spoke of her mate, Starlet wouldn't loose that playful side any time soon, that made him feel a bit relieved to know that he would still have someone to enjoy his time with that active manner. A lot of the things Devil said made sense. He was glad that they had started to talk.

"Yeah?" So as long as he tried for it, he would have a family one day. That sounded pleasing. Though he had yet to really learn of what family would mean for him. The being inside stirred at the idea and sense of relaxation that came from Devils's words. As if it didn't want family. "Your father seems to be very knowledgeable." He wondered if he's meet someone like that in his time. Someone to teach him things like Devils father had taught him. Devil was very lucky for something like that.

"Crazy?" He had to think about it. But his crazy wasn't what in fact Devils family was. "Well thats good to hear, though it it wasn't that, I don;t think we'd be having this talk right now would we?" Astrophel laughed some. But it was sensible that if someone deserved to be treated that way, that it would be such. "Where do you all live? Do you have a large family?" He was curious about if his parents parents stayed with them, or if they was such a generation still existing. Learning about the others family was just fascinating to him and it didn't seem like Devil minded talking about them.

But... Maybe they should do other things, he would hate for Devil to find him boring with to many questions. As it was getting later in the afternoon. "Hey what do you think about getting some apples and maybe playing around a little...? He was nervous in asking the other about playing. He didn't want to see to childish at the same time everything else going on.

"I don't live far from here." he then admitted, while looking backwards and grinning. By personal preference, he never strayed too far away from home. His father would get too angry if he wandered off and got lost. Devil found it better to avoid trouble that was easy to solve, so he never went to far from their overall home-front. "What about you, where do you live?" Maybe Astrophel was allowed to venture around more than he was? If so, Devil would probably be a bit jealous. He wanted that kind of freedom for sure!

"And yeah, my family is pretty big. There's eight of us total, and I have a lot of brothers." It seemed like boys were the dominant gene in their family. He didn't mind being yet another boy amongst the rank of them. "It's easy to get big families. I think you'll find that too as you get older." If Astrophel wanted that sort of thing, of course. But, it also made sense to Devil to have people who were unrelated to be considered family. Which then meant that families could be even bigger! "Anybody important can be considered family, so that's kinda nice."

At the foals request of finding some apples, Devil could only grin and roll his shoulders. "Yeah, I'm ok with doing something like that. As long as we don't wander too far away. I think there are some apples to the north of this area, so if we just follow these trees next to us, we should get lucky." He started walking then and encouraged the other foal to follow him. "I didn't realize you were hungry, buddy!" Or bored maybe. Devil really had no idea! But an apple didn't sound so bad now that he thought about it. And luckily, he knew of the perfect place.

He also liked being in the position of 'leader', so he was happy to be in charge of where they could go! He wasn't sure if Astrophel knew of any good areas. "If you know of anything else cool around here just speak up, I'm happy to adjust our trail." He then added, to be fair of course!

"Oh, I live up..." He blinked and looks up at the sky. "Over by the rivers but once I learn to fly, Forte says that I'll be beckoned to the heavens to live. " he shrugged some; not sure if that was something he wanted or not, but none the less he was really close to being able to fly well enough.

"Really? Well that; I guess I would have a pretty big family then already." He thought of all the others that lived at that one teepee. But there still felt like something was missing. He shrugged a bit, and her ears twitched to his agree for apples.

"Good." He nodded and turned to follow after him. "I've been craving some for a while now." He laughed a bit and shook his head. "No not really. As much as I do get out; I'm not able to really get to the places I always want." He laughed. He did have all the freedom he wanted. It wasn't like he had a mother to worry about him. "Forte showed me a place but it'll be far away."

Devil was quiet for just a moment as he tried to focus on where they should go. When his nose picked up the light scent of apples, he nodded his head and led Astrophel forward. They would be there in just a few minutes! But, for now, he decided to answer his pal's other words. He was interested to learn of some of what Astrophel meant.

"The heavens?" Devil had never heard of such of a word. He turned his head so that he could look at Astrophel and shrugged lightly. "Hopefully that isn't too far away?" He had no idea that the other colt meant the skyline, since his parents never taught him to believe in such a thing. But hey, life had those kind of differences, and Devil was getting used to learning as best as he could.

"Once you are able to fly I bet you won't have a hard time finding whatever you want." That was one of the good things of being able to navigate through the skies. "And if you do get lost, you can just land and ask other soquili. Sounds like a pretty good idea to me." He'd be able to meet who he wanted too, and that would be entertaining.
