--Guild Rules and Guidelines--

These are just common sense - the main 'rule' is to enjoy yourself, and respect others.
    General

I Be respectful. Our guild's subject can be taken the wrong way. Voice your opinions, but voice them nicely - in other words, no flaming.

II Follow the Gaian rules and ToS. We're a guild, but we're still in Gaia territory.

    III Follow the Wiccan Rede.

IV No posting any black magic sites, books, or information. We don't want anyone going through the pain. (Black magic is a term for stuff that will harm.)

V Please direct all problems to the Mods. If you're unsure who they are, they're listed below. wink

VI Randomly advertising for non-guild related things is not permitted: except for in signatures. If you want to advertise, check out the Shameless Advertising thread. Use it well!

VII Keep it real. Try not to overexaggerate, and please, please, please do not make things up. We're serious in what we do, and we mean what we say- if you want to 'roleplay', use the roleplay subforum.

VIII Enjoy yourself. If you've got an issue, please let us know as soon as possible: we can't fix it if we don't know.

IX If you're participating in a game or contest, follow the threads rules. Breaking game rules is breaking guild rules.

    Threads

I No "Post whoring"/"Spamming": don't always go for the last laugh. Try and keep threads on track.

II Please be respectful of your keyboard: no posts in completle capitals, no 1337 5p3ak etc.

III Stay away from one word posts and random postings. Keep threads on topic. If you've got something to say that isn't on a thread (yet), or you notice discussion on a particular thread that doesn't belong there: then don't be afraid to create a new thread! People will appreciate it. 3nodding

IV Don't create a thread about something that already has a thread - AKA "double threading". For instance, we do not need four threads dedicated to dreams~!

V As well as double threads, steer away from double posting. If you've posted, and then remember something you want to add to it hit the edit button.

VI Keep 'quote towers' to a minimum: use common sense. You don't need to quote if what you're quoting is the post directly above you, and keep regular quotes to about five, depending on length.

VII Try and run long posts through a spell checker - it makes it easier to read, which means you'll get a better response to your topic.

Failure to comply with these rules will have consequences - but I know you're all good, so there hopefully won't be many 'incidents'. ^^ Remember to have fun, and use common sense.

--The Wiccan Creed--

Bide the Witche's Rede ye' must,
in perfect love, in perfect trust.
Eight words the reed thou must fufill,
an' it harm none do as ye will.
What ye send forth returns to thee,
so ever mind the rule of three
Follow this with mind and heart,
and merry ye meet and merry ye part.

--The Wiccan Reed--

Bide within the Law you must, in perfect Love and perfect Trust.
Live you must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.

For tread the Circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be said in rhyme.

Light of eye and soft of touch, speak you little, listen much.
Honor the Old Ones in deed and name,
let love and light be our guides again.

Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out the joyful tune.
Widdershins go when the moon doth wane,
and the werewolf howls by the dread wolfsbane.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand to Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak then your heart's desire seek.

Heed the North winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the Wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss you on the mouth.
When the wind whispers from the West, all hearts will find peace and rest.

Nine woods in the Cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow.
Birch in the fire goes to represent what the Lady knows.

Oak in the forest towers with might, in the fire it brings the God's
insight. Rowan is a tree of power causing life and magick to flower.

Willows at the waterside stand ready to help us to the Summerland.
Hawthorn is burned to purify and to draw faerie to your eye.

Hazel-the tree of wisdom and learning adds its strength to the bright fire burning.
White are the flowers of Apple tree that brings us fruits of fertility.

Grapes grow upon the vine giving us both joy and wine.
Fir does mark the evergreen to represent immortality seen.

Elder is the Lady's tree burn it not or cursed you'll be.
Four times the Major Sabbats mark in the light and in the dark.

As the old year starts to wane the new begins, it's now Samhain.
When the time for Imbolc shows watch for flowers through the snows.

When the wheel begins to turn soon the Beltane fires will burn.
As the wheel turns to Lamas night power is brought to magick rite.

Four times the Minor Sabbats fall use the Sun to mark them all.
When the wheel has turned to Yule light the log the Horned One rules.

In the spring, when night equals day time for Ostara to come our way.
When the Sun has reached it's height time for Oak and Holly to fight.

Harvesting comes to one and all when the Autumn Equinox does fall.
Heed the flower, bush, and tree by the Lady blessed you'll be.

Where the rippling waters go cast a stone, the truth you'll know.
When you have and hold a need, harken not to others greed.

With a fool no season spend or be counted as his friend.
Merry Meet and Merry Part bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

Mind the Three-fold Laws you should three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow wear the star upon your brow.

Be true in love this you must do unless your love is false to you.

These Eight words the Rede fulfill:

"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

--The Wiccan Way--

1: Recognizing that there is more than one path to spiritual enlightenment and that Wicca is but one of many, and that Wicca holds within itself the belief that there is more than one type of step set to the spiral dance, find here listed common denominators of the Craft.

2: That there is above all the Goddess in her three-fold aspect and many are her names.
With all her names we call her Maiden, Mother and Crone.

3: That there is the God, consort and son, giver of strength and most willing of sacrifice.

4: That and it harm none, do what ye will shall be the law.

5: That each of her children are bound by the three-fold law and that whatever we create, be it joy or sorrow, laughter or pain, is brought back to us three-fold.

6: That as she is the mother of all living things and we are all her children, we seek to live in harmony not only with each other, but with the planet earth that is our womb and home.

7: That life upon the earth is not a burden to be born, but a joy to be learned and shared with others.

8: That death is not an ending of existence, but a step in the on-going process of life.

9: That there is no sacrifice of blood, for She is the mother of all living things, and from her all things proceed and unto her all things must return.

10: That each and everyone of the children who follow this path has no need of another between themselves and the Goddess, but may find Her within themselves.

11: That there shall not by intent be a desecration of another's symbols of beliefs, for we are all seeking harmony within the One.

12: That each person's faith is private unto themselves and that another's
belief is not to be set out and made public.

13: That the Wiccan way is not to seek converts, but that the way be made open to those who for reasons of their own seek and find the Craft.

14: And as it is willed, so mote it be.

-- The Guild Council --

Although it may look it at times, this Guild's Council isn't just a bunch of jammed together rebels. sweatdrop

We all have responsibilities. We moderate peoples posts, issue warnings, behave ourselves, deal with members problems, help you distinguish what black magick is: what spells aren't and are: and if the need arises, we will and can ban you. ninja This is a rare occurence, so relax. Doesn't give you folks at the back permission to be roudy though..

If you wish to become a Council Member, then prepare yourself for a selection process / interview type thing. It's nothing to get stressed about, but is serious. Don't just enter thinking, "hey, I could have some power in this guild, and that'd be cool." If you are accepted into the council, then it's technically a job. Also, there are certain requirements before you can apply to take this 'test'. They're basically just common sense. If you wish to know more, PM me, or one of the VCs - or both! whee

-- Meet the Mods --

Here's a brief run-down of all that take part in keeping Blessed Be ticking over nicely. To contact a mod, click on their avatar. All listed here can issue you warnings for not playing nice. ^^;

User ImageAurellion

This one poses as a mild mannered student by day, and then pops into a phone booth for a quick change into Gaia Geek Mode. Aurellion, AKA Jen can mainly be found lurking around the Main Hall and Sitting Room - but that's not to say she just sits around and twiddles her thumbs! No sir.

Come and see Jen if you've got any qualms about the running of the guild, want to help out with the newsletter, want to do something about our contests or just want a listening ear - Wicca related or not.

User ImageJVCA

JVCA, AKA Jess has been "Vice Captain" status for the longest. She knows her stuff~! As well as Jen, Jess is a kiwi and is the one to see if you have any questions on runes.

User Imagedark_angel_32189

Dark Angel, AKA Maggie, is usually a silent member thanks to work and school, but she occasionally shows herself in the forums somewhere. She's still pretty new to Wicca, but she can be pretty helpful when it comes to gemstones, scrying, and auras. But, she's not just limited to those three things... she can help with other stuff too, so don't be afraid to ask her for help!

User Image[Helmorana]

[Helmorana], AKA Vix, may come off as a bit cranky sometimes, but she's really like cake - cause cakes have layers too. The soft, creamy core with a chocolate flavour usually reveals itself after she's had her morning cup of tea. Generally she just wanders around the guild, turning a few frogs to princes every now and then... or the other way around. She's good with fairy tales, Nordic mythology, runes and history.

User ImageThe Spam Fairy

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, it's the Spam Fairy, otherwise known as Vaughan. Do not be fooled by his pink and pretty disguise - underneath there's a wild dude who knows his stuff, particularly if it's crystal, circle or meditation related. Just be careful to spell his name right - it's Vaughan. wink

User ImageBlessed_Scribe

..and onto our next candidate, Blessed_Scribe. She is the one that sends you a newsletter every month. ^^ If you wish to recieve this, please add her to your friendslist. If you wish to be on the newsletter team, them please send a PM to Jen (Aurellion).

User ImageThe_Blessed_Mule

The_Blessed_Mule is our guild mule, or as I prefer to say guild representative. whee If you wish to donate towards contests, giveaways, birthdays and not sub-forums: then this is the one to trade. Her profile is the place to leave 'testimonials' on the guild - simply leave a comment. Our representative's shop is constantly stocked up with trashies, bugs, tokens and 'junk', and all profit will go towards the aforementioned uses. If you wish to get rid of your junk quickly, then send a trade over to this 'un. wink After all - what you get out, is what you put in..

User ImageLotto_Magick

Over here we have the person who is in control of the Guild Lotto. biggrin To find out more, you can check it out here.

-- The Guild Recruitment Thread --

It would be appreciated if you could please spend some time there bumping: more members means more fun, threads, ideas, discussions.. the list goes on. wink However, don't bump too much as it's a slow-moving forum - we could get in trouble for it..

Thanks!

Just keep in mind that we're looking for people who are already Wiccan/ interested in that area - we don't want to be seeking to turn people into Wicca if they're not interested. By advertising and 'recruiting' we are just spreading the word out for the current Wiccans on Gaia, not trying to get people to become Wiccan.

-- Guild Directory --

The Academy- This is the place for you to teach and learn. Some of the classes that are currently offered here are: Divination, Tarot, Crytals, Meditating - and lots more!

The Courtyard- This one is for all you role-players out there. ^^

The Council's Headquarters- The title says it all. This is where we discuss things that are guild related - such as making it a better place for you guys, and any member issues that may arise.

The Library- Are you looking for a certain spell? Well, why not try looking in our Library. There are currently lots of spells that can be found here. If you can't find what you're looking for, then you can go ahead and ask for one in this subforum!

The Main Hall- This is where all of our contests are held as well as some really funny member-made comics. You can also show off your artistic skills here - films of plays, poems, stories, drawing, DeviantArts.. The list is endless. xd

The Memoirs- This is basically where we keep the 'old stuff' that is no longer needed, (but is still worth keeping) and previous winners to competitions. Old newsletters, old sabbat rituals and pictures, winners to competitions.

The Sitting Room- This is pretty much like a chatterbox. You can advertise your quest threads, shop threads, web-sites, chat about real-life, discuss your interests, gain gold, etc.

Each sub-forum has basic guidelines inside, which I recommend you read before posting. Trust me!

-- Feedback --

Feedback on the guild (good and bad) is most appreciated: it tells us what we need to improve on, and it gives you a say as to what you want to see happen on here.

If you wish to input your input, then pop along to The Blessed Mule's profile, and leave a comment. whee

-- Membership Memo --

Here at Blessed Be, we try our very best to give you what you want. If you aren't getting this, then we're not doing our job.

We need to know if something's bugging you, or if you're itching to see particular content. Please let us know; we're here to help, honest! You can do this a number of ways: start up a new thread, send any of the Mod's a PM or comment on our representatives profile (The_Blessed_Mule). By improving things, it'll mean we're more active: fun and frolics all round. wink

On the note of activity: we'd love it if you were active! You don't need to post everyday; that'd be ridiculous. Just post when you can. If you don't feel like being part of a discussion, then head over to the bump thread in the sitting room, or sign-in on the sign in thread. It's all gold for you after all! smile

We've got several free contests for you to get involved in. They're pretty fun, if I do say so myself. They cost you nothing (weeeell, apart from the Lotto) except your time. But you get paid for that on here - posting is money, and money is time. Time is indeed money, so by taking some time to take part you'll win win. If you've got some ideas for more contests, then please, go ahead and suggest some!

Keep in mind that we're a community. We call each other by our real names, give presents on birthdays and help in anyway we can with real-life issues. We try and get to know you; yes you, right there, hiding behind that screen. wink

-- Main Forum Thread List --

As you all should know, creating double threads is against one of our rules. And, unfortunetly, it's also probably one of the ones that is most commonly broken. Now, we realize how irritating it can be to have to go through the pages in the Main Forum and searching through the threads to see if there's already an existing thread on a certain subject that you would like to know more about. So, to solve this problem, we have created a list, in alphabetical order, or the existing threads in The Main Forum of this guild! And to help you guys out even more, there will also be a link to each of the threads. This list will be updated every two weeks.

The List:

Alright guys, well there's your list. Now you have no excuse to create double threads in the guild's main forum.

If you happen to notice that a link is wrong, please notify one of the guild's mods!
