Cats. An interesting topic indeed when it comes to magic. Some believe they can see the first and second plane (humans can only see the first) and for this reason can see things that we can't, including energy and magic. Jess and I have been meaning to make this topic for a while. What do you believe? What are your experiences?
Note by fellow mod: Try not to double post - it's against our rules. wink With Jess' cat, Nutmeg, (awesum-ful-ness-est cat ever) I have noticed has sort of sensed things that I think many cats do on some level or another. Like for example when Jess is sad/sick Nutmeg keeps her company and cheers her up. Also, I find then when you beckon a cat, they often don't respond. Cat's can't be expected to understand the hand gesture, but if they do, they usually either don't want to see yuo or can't be bothered. But I find that things like using energy in my hand to attract her attention and things works well. Also, Jess and I have also tried using energy to sort of pat her. We can't completely be sure it works, we're doing it right or if she can really feel what we're doing... But when I first tried, she looked around all confused as if to say 'Who did that?' so I stroked her in the same way, but with my hand and she seemed to understand. When I got Jess to try it, Nutmeg assumed it was me again. It could be somewhat of a coincidence, but in my mind it seems like she's aware of things like that. However I don't think Mittens (her other cat), Cola or Rascal (my cats) respond in the same way, if at all to that sort of thing.

Cats can most definitely see magick, this is what happened to me about a week ago:
I performed a ritual and spell work and was charged with energy when I went downstairs to complete the spell, my cat Toby was in the front room, when he saw me it was like he didn't recognize me at first, filled with all that magickal energy. He's only a kitten and this was the first time he had witnessed it in me. He actually ran away from me and became very anxious. As soon as I spoke to him he knew it was me and came for a cuddle but he definitely saw the energy in and around me that evening.

eek ooooh my cat constantly looks off into space as if there was something there. I can't see it, but maybe there is something there! biggrin heart it's really cool. cats do have two eyelids in each eye so it might be possible that they could see the second plane as well heart wink

The version of the idea of planes still confuses me a tiny bit, though. The one I've heard about is, that there are multiple planes. Some things only exist on or can be seen on certain planes. As humans can only see the first plane, there is still much to learn. But, supposedly certain animals can see certain other planes... But something interesting is, that if humans exist on a plane that something else doesn't then those two things can walk right through each other... ? Because on the plane the human is in, they won't see the other thing and the other thing may or may not be able to see the human... The only thing is, a different plane is supposedly a different layer of the same world, not a different world entirely.... I hope that made sense.
Anyone else heard a different version of things?

My cat is aware of the various energies that are not visible to humans. When I do a ritual, he helps. He also helps to ground me after ritual. Then again, animals are aware. We just tend to associate this with cats more than other animals.

We know that dogs are just as good as cats. I have owned a dog in the past, and I own a cat now. There are a variety of similarities between them. Basically, I think it all comes down to how you, personally, interact with each species. I have worked with Quarter horses and connected very deeply with one of them. It really depends on you.

I've had cats nearly all my life.. But about 3 or so years ago my sister had a cat, Lola, that was definately 'slow' and extremely hyper. I only held her a few times when I was on the computer chatting with this one guy, Hisham.. She'd always come up to me when he was about to IM..
She, it seems, connected us.. Allowed us to share energies, form a bridge between us.. I'd close my eyes as he typed.. I could feel the words he typed, even though I could not read them.. I could see him, even though he didn't send a picture until afterwards..
Lola attacked and scared my hand, though, and we ended up getting rid of her.. I never heard from Hisham again..
My current cat, Jynx of 16 years, I've had for 15 years.. She's crazy, lolz. She helps me alot though.. Even if she's a pain, she always comes running up to me when I'm sick or sad.. Even wakes if she's sleeping.

I believe that all life (including animals) is magical. After all, magic is always all around us, even when we don't realize it.

I tried that thing. My cat was looking at something, when he is usually sleeping. I put my hand to him, without making contact, and he chirped and started to purr.
