Eyes: Dark red. Almond shaped. Is a punk, so not too large and innocent looking. Naturally needs glasses, but wears contacts. Hair: Fully buzzed left side. Right is left long and wavy, falling roughly to his chest, with a few braids interspersed throughout. Dyed rainbow hombre that starts cerulean at his roots then green to yellow to orange at the tips. It is naturally a mint color. Face: A bit of a softie, with thick lips and narrow brows. Skin Tone: Very dark, deep warm brown. Body Type: Ellian stands about 6’1” and has the body of someone who often competes in speed-oriented sports, as he usually does. He’s lithe and fit. Clothes: Ellian probably dresses like SHINee dresses, except more colorful. Take your pick of which, just splash some vibrant blues/greens/purples in there. Make him obnoxious. He has a myriad of piercings, including an industrial in his left ear and three in the lobe, two in his left eyebrow, the bridge of his nose, his nostril, a left teardrop, snakebites, and a labret.

Basic Attack -- Fan the Flames
Diesel must make physical contact with another person or object in order to use his magic. The energy expelled by the impact provides the necessary 'fuel' to power his abilities, and so the magic's strength varies dependent upon how much effort he exerts. Simple contact may cause a flash burn, while something more forceful could cause a contained burst of flames that allows Diesel to forcefully repel enemies. Severity and duration of damage is up to target. He is capable of activating magic on himself (by clapping, snapping, stomping, etc.) to propel himself nearer to targets. He has thirty seconds from casting to make contact with something, but the magic itself lasts for only a single burst on impact. May be used three times per battle.

Eternal Attack -- Spontaneous Combustion
Twice per battle, Diesel can compress energy 'fuel' in the palm of his hand. This orb is capable of being thrown or smashed against something so that on impact, it erupts into a forceful buffet of spreading flames that engulf whatever they touch. The flames burn for thirty seconds before disappearing. Severity and duration of damage is up to target. Diesel needs an uninterrupted thirty seconds in order to concentrate the fuel in his hand, otherwise it will 'break' and seep slowly around him for the duration of the magic.
Motivations ▼
Ellian is a child, so of course when a world of magic and fighting and aliens was introduced to him, he jumped at the opportunity to be part of something more exciting than his mundane life. He loves being a senshi and is happy to spend late nights in his powered guise. With it comes a fearless optimism of what that means for him and the world and a blatant refusal to acknowledge the severity of the war and the repercussions which come from aiding Chaos.
He could've been content to be on any side, as any type of senshi, but his notoriously strict older brother forced him to the side of chaos. Diesel doesn't mind this, though he probably would've preferred less structure than the Negaverse imposes. And it might have been nice to see a world that is all his... But he banishes the thought from his mind. He could never admit it out loud, and it's possible he may not even realize it, but he is absolutely desperate to prove himself to his older brother (General Rakovanite) in the hope that they can have some positive bond that Diesel never had a chance to experience with him as "just civilians."
So while he is not typically a murderer, Rakovanite (and allies close to him) are capable of coercing Diesel to take starseeds and fight with aggressive abandon. The main purpose and consequences of the Negaverse's actions are not important to him. His personal goals are pretty much the only thing he cares about.
Fav. Food ▼ Chicken alfredo with angel hair noodles. He likes ‘em thin and slurpy. Hated Food ▼ Clam chowder. Chowder sounds like cat food. He doesn't want to eat cat food.
Hobbies ▼
Team Activities: Ellian loves team activities, and as such is almost always partaking in a different after school sport or club, dependent on the season. Fall is for soccer, winter is for swimming (he has no idea who decided upon that, but they must have truly been an actual heathanistic terrorist), and during the spring he tends to gravitate toward less intensive clubs (like Environmental Club, Gay/Straight Alliance, Drama and FBLA) so that’ll he’ll have time to focus on encroaching finals. He takes a backseat in band year-round and plays the flute. All in all, he just loves doing group activities, whether it is a sport, or a club, or just general rowdiness among peers. He will do virtually anything if invited along by someone else, even a stranger. He’s not so much a fan of online team games, as he prefers to do everything in person, face-to-face, and really get active.
Geocaching: Scavenger hunting for adults. On especially nice days (any weather over fifty degrees) when he’s alone and no one wants to hang out, Ellian can grab his trusty phone and handy geocache app and see what treasures other people have hidden away during their off days. It’s a special kind of interacting, and even though he isn’t face to face as he prefers to be, it still makes him feel like he’s part of a group. He brings weirdly shaped and colorful erasers to leave behind, but his favorite part is leaving behind his signature...
Graffiti: Because Ellian loves tagging anything he can fit his name on. Despite not being an exceptionally talented artist, this boy loves to ‘leave his mark,’ as it were. He’ll pick up some spray paint and scrawl his signature in the places you’d expect: buildings, train cars, the backs of stop signs, the fronts of stop signs, but more than that, he just likes writing his name on things in general: bathroom walls, textbooks, and trees. If even one person knows “Ellian wuz here,” then that makes it all worth it. Not that he would know if anyone found it.
Comic Books: Though Ellian prefers to be active and has a lot of energy to burn, by the end of the day, he needs something to help him 'wind down,' so to speak. He is not a ridiculously knowledgeable nerd that knows the story line and conclusion of every reboot, but he enjoys picking up whatever comic is available to him and will go out of his way to get new ones that have the 'best covers.' He's no hard and fast fanboy of any particular character or franchise, but he's got good general knowledge and a healthy interest that leads him to browse through the comic section at Barnes&Noble, as well as investigate any new comic stores. He likes a few of the lesser-known ones like Saga and Monstress, but has a good base of DC and Marvel comics, as well. He can be very secretive of this interest around certain groups. He doesn't want his friends to think he's a dweeb.
Virtues ▼
Vivacious: Ellian is expressive, bold, and typically very inclusive of people around him. He likes doing things with others and can be quite enthusiastic of topics that interest him, or even ones that don't, as long as he is with someone enjoyable. More than that, he wants his peers to be as excited as he is and can be very encouraging of those around him to see the benefits of anything and everything they do, whether it is for work or pleasure. He is perceptive and cunning and capable of highlighting the 'fun' aspects of even dull activities. It is unlikely that Ellian would devote this much effort toward people who are abrasive or dismissive toward him for a prolonged time, though. He tries to approach most everyone favorably initially, but sometimes the mood just isn't right. As it would be unusual for him to hold a grudge even against those who slight him, a second meeting is like a 'reset,' and Ellian can be as eager and animated as ever towards people who aren't usually particularly friendly.
Adventurous: Being stuck in a static routine is not anything Ellian favors. He enjoys the 'new' and isn't afraid to seek it out. New places, new activities, new food, new friends are all of interest to him. He will try anything at least once without almost any hesitation and is not typically afraid of something unknown. That isn't to say he'll enjoy everything he tries, but he loves the experience of it and the story as much as he could love any activity. The story is just another way for him to connect with people who would otherwise just be strangers, and this is something of great importance to Ellian. Come at him with your dares and implications that he 'can't' do something. Ellian is ridiculously eager to prove others wrong and show his grit. He feels no reservations toward things that seem impossible and is all too ready to take on a challenge.
Candid: There isn't anything to be gained by not being open with his thoughts and feelings, and Ellian is ashamed of very little (though not nothing). He wants people to understand him and appreciate the reasons behind why he behaves how he does, so he tries to be really frank with his goals, with how he perceives those around him, with what he enjoys, with what he hates. It extends to more than just what he says, though, and also impacts his actions in general, where Ellian has few reservations regarding hugging, touching, leaning on others, playing with someone else's hair, and the like. It should be noted that not everything he says and does is likely to be positive, and he is as shy about admitting the negative as he is about anything else, but at least no one will ever wonder where they stand with him.
Flaws ▼
Disloyal: Once Ellian's interest wanes, he will move on, be it in terms of activities or people. It can be extremely difficult to win his allegiance, as his tastes, moods, and wants are always changing, leaving him to consistently be looking for different things in and from others. Coupled with his brazen attitude means Ellian has little qualms with telling people when he isn't interested, and it can be a very rude and dismissive affair. Even without intentionally being mean, he has little consideration for how his words and attitude might affect others' feelings and perceptions of him. While to Ellian, he can be as blunt as to say he doesn't have time to partake in the usual rituals that make someone a friend right now, he comes back around with the mindset that he hasn't done anything wrong, and things can be picked up exactly as if nothing happened at all.
Selfish: In that vein, he can be ridiculously selfish. Ellian thinks almost exclusively of what things mean to him, of how they affect him, and it leaves little room for concerns about others. His thought is that if everyone is out for their own benefit (as he expects most are), then he should likewise treat things as if they exist solely for his pleasure. He is possessive and protective and jealously guards what belongs to him, but living things that act and think on their own are... more complicated. Because of his attitude, it is difficult for him to not butt heads with his alleged 'friends' on some occasions, and when he does, he gets a temper that makes him temporarily very dismissive. People are too independent to be considered 'his,' so it is easy for him to disassociate with them and their needs and take more for himself.
Moody: Ellian (and everyone around him) is a victim to his ever-changing moods. It takes little more than a single word to send him from chipper to sour. ...And then another word to send him back. While this can make him seem in some instances forgiving, and in others insincere or careless to the importance of whatever situation he may be in, he is helpless to control it, though admittedly, doesn't really try. This doesn't feel like a flaw from his perspective. This feels like something that is natural among people. But Ellian takes it to extremes. When he is angry (sometimes over nothing), he is rash and violent and thoughtless. When he is happy, he is doting, sweet, and playful. But unfortunately, predicting which, among any other emotion you may get, is a difficult task altogether.
Random Tidbits ▼
• Ellian's mother, Mikali was born in Chennai, India and speaks Hindi as her native language. While she has quite a thick accent, Ellian has none to speak of. He is bilingual himself, having learned Hindi from his mother. • His parents were winter vacation people. Rather than taking long summer trips, they typically took shorter winter trips up into the mountains. Ellian can snowboard down a black diamond slope, as well as perform simple jumps like the toe loop jump while ice skating. • Ellian is technically of the Hindu faith (Shaivism branch), thanks to his mother. Though he is not an avid practitioner of any religion, people are welcome to engage him in discussion about his moral upbringing in regards to this!

Civilian Life ▼
Mikali Khellasati spent the entirety of her childhood and into her adulthood as the only child from a relatively wealthy family living in a relatively wealthy city. Her parents were almost ridiculously strict, with high expectations and very little patience for failure to meet those expectations. Mikali was well-learned, with a bit of a tempestuous nature, and was not fond of nonsense. When she wanted to continue her studies out of Chennai and across the ocean to America, no expense was spared.
Ambrose Evans was a doofus.
It was as plain and simple as that. While Mikali attended university in Baltimore, she had the poor fortune of meeting a man who was just intriguing enough to capture her heart forever. He was by no means as intelligent as she was, but he was fun and encouraging where she had previously only been accustomed to strict and unapproachable in the people she met. Ambrose is still something of a sore spot for her parents to deal with, and though they threatened repeatedly to cut off their support, they never did, and Mikali's divergence from their plan for her future is something they have grown to live with.
In the presence of her own success, Mikali hardly held a grudge for her parents' contemptuousness. While Ambrose possesses no college experience to speak of, Mikali has a Doctoral degree in Economics and heads her own business in the concrete industry. While Ambrose initially practiced as a mechanic, he now serves as co-owner and manager to his wife's company.
And also the primary caregiver for their children.
Mikali made him wait ages before they moved to Virginia, married (she managed to convince Ambrose to take her last name with only minimal difficulty), and had a child, Nataniel. And then, nearly eight years later, a second, Ellian.
Ellian was an absurdly spoiled child. His mother's financial success, coupled with her desire to be less oppressive than her parents, as well as Ambrose's typically fun and encouraging ways gave Ellie a lot of leeway with which to develop his own path and blossom into his own person. Despite his older brother's obvious disdain for him, Ellian adores Nataniel and craves his approval, often mimicking Nat in ways such as his hairstyle and piercings.
It doesn't look like they are bound to get along anytime soon (especially with Nat having moved out of the house), but Ellian fills the void with countless others. He needs almost consistent attention and can become very angry when he doesn't get it.
