I wish to remain nameless
And live without shame
'Cause what's in a name, oh
I still remain the same

You can call it what you want
You can call me anything you want
You can call us what you want
You can call me anything you want~

Going Fast -- No really! Kess often helps indulge the fact that Lena likes going fast. This also goes for running across town as fast as she can, leaping from roof to roof, and even running down the street purposefully late so that she can push herself to fly faster and harder through the crowds. It’s not really living on the edge sort of fast, or taking things so quick that they’re foolish. She just likes being speedy and moving as fast as she can. It’s a weird thing to enjoy, but Lena isn’t the most normal girl anyway.

Numbers -- This is her one true passion in life, and they are like a second language to Lena. She is absolutely gifted in any form of mathematics, though unfortunately it doesn't stretch too far over in other academics. Sciences do come easier to her than other things, but sadly her grasp of poetry and literature is miserable at best. But you betcha that she will be the girl laughing uproariously at the most obscure math jokes on XKCD! Sometimes, when alone, she will sit and simply enumerate in one of her various notebooks, thinking of how the numbers could fit together - theoretical mathematics.

A lot of it was lost when Daphne became Lena but slowly she is absorbing it all again, picking up used textbooks on trigonometry, algebra, and calculus. It is her deep regret that she is poor because she’d love to play and invest in the stock market, but alas. For now she keeps the books at Kess’ Spot as part of earning her keep as a roommate.

Pole Dancing -- Yeah yeah, she’s waiting for the jokes. Don’t worry, she can take them...and you! With her life being almost fully dedicated to the Negaverse because she has nothing else, Lena is becoming obsessed with getting into physical shape. No longer can she rely on the supernatural gifts she was given because there are so many people in Destiny City that have greater ones. She thought about boxing, martial arts, but fell a bit in love with the videos of woman who did pole dancing routines on Youtube. Their bodies were fluid, fantastic, and utterly fit in ways that she could only dream of! So now several times a week she goes and has lessons with a certified Pole Expert and is slowly getting into the most athletic shape of her life!

Video Blogging -- What did you think she wouldn’t still be a tech kiddie? While not as obsessed with the internet world, with the fantasy video games, or the computer life that Audrey and Daphne had both been, Lena is still involved with the internet. However she’s become that thing that a lot of people can’t really stand and that’s a video blogger. Random thoughts, ideas, snippets of consciousness are uploaded to the web with irregularity depending on the subject.

No videos about the Negaverse and her thoughts about her memory situation are uploaded but they do exist. Not sure if she will one day wake up and know nothing again, terrified it will happen, these videos are Lena’s idea of buoys against the oncoming storm. Some friends might know about the blogging but not why, being that it is a shameful secret that she can’t seem to tell anyone about.

Virtues :;

Emotional Corking -- Not to be mistaken for simply being emotionless, Lena is simply practiced at not spewing the full force of her emotion everywhere unless she wishes to, in most cases. She would be internally screaming at you and all you might see is a thin smile and a polite request to ******** off. Something that the young woman prides herself on is the fact that she does not usually let anyone see her cry. In fact, in general, Lena does not cry unless it is very late at night and she does so quietly with little mess or noise. She views this as her greatest asset, and when things get emotional she clings to the reason and control that her mind provides.

It does however make it sometimes hard to relate to Lena or even think she’s being very serious about things. She has the capability to be very serious and give proper levity to a bad situation. It’s just that sometimes it’s not easy for her to handle such emotions and she tries not to. Easier to laugh than cry, isn’t it?

A Sense of Humor? I’ve Got Five! -- Pulling herself from her shell has been a slow and excruciating process for the young woman but thankfully, even after everything, Lena still has a glorious ability to be playful. Lewd jokes? Bring ‘em on! Want to pull an amazing prank on that hated professor? She’s game! Though she’s not really much for telling jokes there is nonetheless an incredibly ironic and wry cloud that she moves through.

Lena loves to laugh! This sense of fun and timing has her taking most things in stride as long as they’re not aimed directly at her. If you’re lucky she’ll just deflect onto something else, otherwise, beware. She’ll try and launch that sense of acerbic humor right at you like a javelin and use it for evil. So if you’re remotely intelligent and want someone fun to hang out with look Lena up! Odds are you’ll have a good time!

Just Do It -- With the loss of everything she’s known, the need has been born inside of the former Audrey Collins the need to just get things done. Life is short and you just need to reach out and do things instead of debating about them for weeks at a time. How much better off would they all have been if she had just gone with Castor to Cosmos originally. Would Tanz be how she is now? Being branded a traitor and living with those consequences has taught Lena that thinking too much about something brings only ruin.

Could she have saved the world instead of crying over it in her bedroom and waiting for the right moment? Lena doesn’t know and she doesn’t want to sit around thinking about it and waiting to find out! She lives now for every moment, in the moment, with a verve for life that she tries to impress on everyone around her. Yeah sure she can plan a good plan and there are some things she’s willing to sit around and wait for.

But not many! The time to live is now, and she’s going to do it! Want to come?

Flaws :;

The Road to Hell is Paved with Good Intentions -- Generally, sometimes even when acting as Linarite, the bluenette almost always has the best intentions...for herself. They just tend to backfire in the worst possible ways without any urging on her part! It never quite occurs to Lena that just because something is good for her doesn’t mean that it’s good for everyone else. Simply put that while Lena thinks she is a caring, lovely person she’s one of the more selfish creatures you could possibly meet. Everything she does is almost always related to ‘how does this work for me’ first and foremost.

Becoming Lina Knight without even wondering what would happen to her friend Tanzanite or really, any of her Negaverse connections is the most selfish, best intentioned thing she’s ever done that has backfired horribly. She has lost the man that Linarite abandoned the Negaverse for, has lost the memories of the first sixteen years of her life, and doesn’t even remember being a knight.

The road was paved with the best of intentions, except the stones were made of lies, the road leading straight to her personal Hell.

DE-FENSE, DE-FENSE -- In spite of her denial and emotional control, beneath all of that incredibly defensive exterior is someone who is actually incredibly turbulent. Lena feels very strongly about almost everything around her. It could be something as small as an annoying pen click or something as huge as the person she loves. It could be anything or anyone but usually it’s from someone questioning the lies she’s telling to herself or the integrity of her cause being questioned. She feels so strongly that the feelings have to be suppressed or they are dangerous.

Poking at her weaknesses in any area tends to make her snapping, angry, and generally defensive. She can laugh at you all she wants but when you start back into that territory Lena becomes a bit of a hypocrite and closes up like a clam. Keep pushing and odds are she’ll let you know exactly how she feels at top volume and with an intensity that might be a little bit scary. After all, a girl can only take so much!

As Reliable as Weather -- Though perhaps she could have once been called reliable, everything that has gone in Lena's recent history has skewed that somewhat. Joining the Negaverse has never been an easy thing to do; leaving it and being forcibly returned was something considered nigh impossible. Yet Lena has done it and is now suffering the consequences, losing sixteen years of identity, of knowledge, and of a surety that when she goes to wake up in the morning she'll know where she is.

Worrying if her memory loss will continued happening as well as being jaded about everything that is going on in Destiny City does not make her the most reliable of people overall. If it's a task given to her by someone she respects such as Howlite or Zinkenite the odds are it will get done (eventually). Yet though Lena tries her best to be a good captain, a good member of the Negaverse, and a good friend these things have a tendency to fall by the wayside if a more fun time is offered elsewhere.

Overall if you can stress that she needs to be here doing this thing now with enough weight behind it, you will actually get Lena to step up and do what she should be doing. But sometimes, there are days when she’s just a little left of center, a strange look comes into her eyes, and she might try something that’s just a little insane. But what would you expect from someone who has lived what she has, seen what she has, and doesn’t have the energy to keep it all at bay?

Note About Memories -- Lina Knight has been forcibly recorrupted by General King Zinkenite. She is once again Captain Linarite and as per the new rules of the shop her memories have been altered to fit. Linarite will remember being in the Negaverse as Linarite and will remember being Daphne Proudmoore; she will not remember being Audrey Collins or Lina Knight. Large chunks of things she should remember are gone entirely never to return.

As of right now (August 21st) Linarite does not remember a single powered identity other than her own. She will know some Negaverse officers when she meets them as their powered selves and nothing more than that due to what was lost when she became Lina Knight. Being that she does not remember being Lina, she also does not remember that many senshi exist.

Her Order-side glamour has vanished so anyone that knew both Audrey and Daphne will now know them as the same person. She has no glamour of any kind so seeing her out without a chaperone of some kind will probably be just a little bit rare! More often than not she's going to stay home, stay in the Rift, or avoid civilian interaction with people that she is not 100% sure are Chaos officers or senshi.

If you would like to plot about her memories and how they relate to your character please feel free to PM or IM me! I love plotting and even if you want nothing to do with my character and would rather she forget yours exists entirely, I'm fine with that as long as you say so politely.

People :;

Kess Reever -- They are the very best of friends. Kess was there to pick her up when she fell down, a quiet and solid support against all of the changes in Lena's life. It's because of this that Kess is one of the only ones that can actually order Lena around with little difficulty, having earned her highest respect and affection.

Zac Bantock -- More a best friend than a best 'friend' like Kess, Zac is one of those constants that Lena can remember throughout all of her 'lives'. She spends quite a bit of time just busting her way into his apartment to annoy him, making paper airplines out of his files. It's still her mission in life to make him live a little. He's also still her lieutenant, her Number One, and it's her job to look out for him.

Elzo Xanis -- Lena does not speak of him ever, so please do not ask. What feelings she would have, what memories she has of him, clearly do not make her want to ever broach the subject.

Tony Darrow -- Though he wouldn't know her if he saw her, Lena has a lot of fond memories of her former knight-mentor. Camelot, however, evokes nothing but emotional conflict when he speaks to her and is avoided at all costs. Sometimes the bluenette breezes into the city library to say hi and deliver treats but never really mentions who she is. Suspicious living is sometimes a drawback!

Avery Hollister -- If ever someone was a sister from another mister, it's Avery. Fabulous, flirty, and fierce are all words that Lena would use to describe herself and Avery often agrees. Of course, sometimes the councilwoman thinks that Lena is a bit too crazy but it all can be solved on the dance floor, hands held high while they break it down.

I think later, it's going to be important to have a written record of what exactly is happening right now. It seems that more and more I am getting small lapses in memory that are very strange. It's like some things I cannot remember at all, and I am afraid that I if I forget important things, it will be bad to not have a written memory. I saw it on a movie, 50 First Dates? Worked for her. Anyway. The important things.

I was born Audrey Collins, in the town of Courtland, Kansas. Yep, I'm an American. I doubt it surprises you, considering I have this awesome lack of any sort of accent. Do I remember it? No. Dad moved us here to Destiny City pretty much as soon as I was born. We visit every now and then we they can scrape up the money. Let me tell you, it's about as rinkydink as you can get. There's like, ten people living there, I am not kidding. I never missed this place so much as when I had to spend a week out there one summer.

I think they tip cows in their spare time?

Ride pigs?

Something like that. Internet was a total bust. I was ready to seriously die. I don't blame mom and dad for getting the heck out of there! Right now I'm sixteen years old. Most kids are crying and wailing about how they want to be eighteen, but not me! I like going to Meadowview, and I don't have to hold down a job so I can do all the raiding I want.

That's really important, by the way. I play a prot warrior troll named Ceh'leda on Shadowsong. WoW. World of Warcraft, got it memorized? I'm in a pretty good guild on there. Not first on the server or anything, but we plowed through the content pretty well. Third or fourth to do Maly 10, and my favorite thing so far is the Heigan Dance in Naxx. SO FUN OMG. I hate rouges and locks, they're the dumbest classes anyone could play. Rogues are ok for PVP, but what the hell good is a lock? None, that's right.

Most importantly, if you can get through all that, I think it's time for the real secret. I am going to put it in the paragraph down here, so nobody catches it. I am one of the newest recruits in the Negaverse. They call me Lieutenant Linarite, and I fight with my amazing two-handed hammer. Some orange-haired bitches named Nealite call it a squeaker, but she's so full of it! She fights with a mirror, don't you ever listen to her! Always, always be afraid of Charonite. He's so absolutely ruthless, and brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

I bet you're wondering what all this means? Let me tell you. We're the Negaverse. It's my job to stop the Sailor Senshi of the Silver Millennium and gather star seeds for Queen Beryl. I've never seen her before, I've only ever seen Charonite. I won't put who he really is down here, because that's never safe. If something happens, don't worry. He will find me and it'll all be ok. But I thought it should be put down here.

Because one day, I might not be so sure. Or I might outgrow all this. Who knows? But it's definitely important. I'm Audrey Collins, and I'm a PC.

HAHA. Yeah that was lame, but I had to do it! Taaa~

When I first came to the Negaverse, I dealt only with one man. General-King Charonite. He slowly opened me to the flaws in my logic, and showed me how truly flawed this cruel world was. When I finally was inducted as a Lieutenant, waking up on that cold stone table, I had no illusions. I knew I was not the only one in this great organization.

I thought I would be working with like-minded individuals. And for the most part, I have found only similar ideals towards our goal. However, there is one particular Lieutenant that I personally wish were not of the Negaverse, so I might personally rip out her star seed. And her hair.

Her name is Nealite.

She is a scantily-clad, absolutely bitchtastic, and gank-worthy Lieutenant who by day is the General-King’s office b***h. Apparently that means she spends all day on her knees for him, just so that he might not actually throw her out for being an absolute waste of air.

It’s sad, because she’s really actually hot. And I do mean smokin’ hot. You could probably bounce a whole roll of quarters off her backside and it would not even impact what is most likely soft, dimpled flesh. I think her rack is actually real, which is insane because it’s just….ugggh. I hate her so much. SO MUCH. She’s really not deserving of it!

I mean, yeah ok. She can verbally keep up with me. Sometimes. But she’s such a b***h! And a hot one! I mean, why should she get all the looks? And then here I am, scrawny as hell. Yeah, that’s totally fair! Maybe it should have been her with those drunken morons in the park. They’d’ve been on her in a second!

Who would’ve been the wimp then? Not me! That’s for damn sure.

That’s another thing! What has Nealite done that is worth anything? Nothing at all, damn it! It’s like all she does is sit around and flash her tits at the higher-ups, and she doesn’t have to do missions! I’m falling behind in raid time, my homework takes longer. I’m trying to capture a senshi’s seed, and all she can do is make fun of me?!

Now let me tell you another thing. Her weapon? I found out what it was. It’s a MIRROR. You know, like the ones cheerleaders put in their lockers, because god forbid that they have a hair out of place for five whole seconds. She fights with it! How, I don’t know! I am betting she just sleeps with the enemy to lure them in. I can’t help but wonder what sorts of diseases she has. Do we get diseases? I mean maybe she’s immune. Oh god that would be awful!

Absolutely unacceptable! Even when you’re hot, it’s not acceptable! Normally, a b***h like that, I could just ignore her. But every time I turn around, I’m looking right into her cleavage! I mean, what is a girl to do? All I can do is hate her.

And have hot dreams.

I most decidedly do BOTH.

Through the shadows, a slim figure hobbled as fast as it could. One gloved hand trailed lightly along the sides of the buildings as the young woman passed, body held as rigidly as possible. Lieutenant Linarite had gotten her a** royally handed to her tonight, and she was paying heavily for it. The blood was still seeping into the fabric of her uniform, and running down her arms and off her fingers. It was really quite shocking to her that no trails were remaining behind her as she passed.

Apparently, the stockings had been a very good idea.

Voices made her blue curls shake as her head jerked up, and she only narrowly ducked into a nearby alleyway as a gaggle of Meadowview students headed away from the local library. It would be truly unfortunate if she was found in this state, but much more preferable to cringe around corners as Linarite, than as Audrey.

As Audrey, someone might actually recognize her, and her uniform would most certainly be ruined by all this blood. Explaining all of that away would not be easy, and unlike the Captains and Generals, she had absolutely no magical powers. Sometimes, she thought it was absolutely unfair that even fresh senshi had powers. The Negaverse, the most glorious organization on Earth, and they had to fight their way through the ranks while trying to not get dusted.

Thankfully, it seemed like the Senshi had no idea what was going on when, and that gave them the edge. But right now, it was just too hard to think about. It didn’t feel glamorous, or glorious, when you were bleeding into your clothes. When your skin felt like it was on fire from all the razor cuts, it didn’t feel powerful. It just was painful, and humiliating.

Finally, the glowing light of Audrey’s monitor lit the way through the quiet suburban street, and the bloody soldier let out a deep sigh. Then, she remembered the unfortunate details of her situation. Not only had she simply leapt from the tree outside her window, but she did not bother to leave a door unlocked. And there was no spare key.

Standing at the base of the tree, looking up that long climb, only three letters escaped her lips. “FML!” It was a quiet whimper, eyes flicking from the window, down her body, and back up. It was going to be slow, painful, and beyond excruciating. Somewhere, God was laughing at her and pointing. It was the only explanation for this exquisite cruelty.

As quietly as she could, Audrey grasped the branches and started to heave herself up, hissing in pain as the cuts pulled. Tears welled into her eyes before the lids came down in a furious effort to not shed a single drop. She hadn’t cried yet, she wouldn’t do so now! With each branch, pulling higher and higher into the old tree, the fire under her skin only grew hotter.

After what seemed like hours, climbing the tree, the young lieutenant fell into her room with a thud. Soft whimpers emanated from her lips as she simply laid there, closing her eyes in blissful gratitude that her parents had never quite gotten around to gifting her with a sibling. Things would be much harder to do if she’d had to share a room!

“Also, for my dignity.” She murmured to herself, crawling and inching her way towards the bathroom on her back. Other than aching from running across town in heeled boots, her legs were relatively unharmed, as was her back. It was her chest and arms that were in misery, though soon hopefully it could be taken care of. Finally, on the cool tile, Linarite faded away to be replaced by simple Audrey Collins, laying naked on her bathroom floor. It took every little bit of energy left to crawl into the shower and wash the blood away, before slathering herself slowly with as much Neosporin as she could manage.

Already, her mother had been asking odd questions about the bruises and why she needed so much of the disinfectant. Thankfully gauze was cheap, and ACE bandages could be reused. That was covered with her allowance. But Neosporin was a tad more expensive, and couldn’t be covered by a simple highschooler’s petty change.

Swathed in bandages, coated in Neosporin, and the edge dulled by no less than four Advil, Audrey wrote out a shaky note declaring a disgusting fever and round of vomiting. Her mother never questioned such notes in the past, and it was becoming quite useful the more serious this Negaverse ordeal was becoming. Sticking it to her door, and climbing into bed, all she could do was recite in her head the reasons that this was all worth it.

Eventually, the litany fell off as her mind slowly wound towards sleep. At that point, when the tears came, she let them roll silently down her cheeks to coat the pillow below. Now, nobody would ever know that she had cried herself to sleep.

That had been incredible! Skipping up to her room, hair and ribbon flying out behind her, Audrey was once again in a truly gleeful mood. Kicking Sailor Alcyone straight out of that docking bay was the most fun she’d ever had with a senshi. Mentally, she was already noting that Tanzanite, while somewhat scandalous, was certainly useful. She didn’t waffle and hide the way some others did. The way she did, originally.

Depositing the half-eaten, mostly melted milkshake on her desk, she booted up her baby. Her precious, sweet, darling machine. That morning her father had helped her mount the giant 30 inch screen above her desk, so that she had much more room for all of her collectible figures and many, many cans of soda. The second was possibly more important than the first, since she’d been needing more and more caffeine to get through the day.

Legs folded Indian-style in her chair, leaning back as far as it’d go, Audrey noticed that the alarm on her computer had gone off…exactly half an hour ago. The alarm that had been set to announce that there was going to be a huge raid on this very day! Panicking, she sat up straight in her chair with a thud as it flew forward to hit the base, plastic against plastic.

Thunderously, her fingers slammed out her username and password as the familiar battle theme and ice wyrm blew its chill across the splash screen. No no no, there was no way she’d missed the raid! Eyes wide, she logged in, and exhaled slowly as after a few moments, no recriminations came by the way of guild chat. But also, there were no group invites. Nobody even saying hello!

Where was the Message of the Day? The familiar green text that comforted all guild members was absolutely missing. Under closer inspection, Audrey noted that her tabard was blank, and there was no second listing over her head as there had been for so many years previously. A low whimper escaped her throat as the realization dawned on her that she was no longer in her guild. But that was impossible! It had to be an in-game glitch.

Quickly, she moved her character through the lagging full city of Dalaran. Thankfully, mailboxes were more frequent there! There, her horror was absolutely confirmed in the familiar Warcraft mail text.

Ceh’leda –

It’s become evident that you don’t really care about the game much anymore. This is the third raid in rotation that you have missed, and you’re behind in your gear. You, of all people, should know about the standing time rule. More time online than off, and no missing raids! You’ve lobbied to throw others out for less, and we tried to give you time to turn around, but it’s just not happening. Until you can get your gear back and up and dedicate some time again to the World, you’re no longer welcome in our guild.

- Jimarn

“No. NO NO NO.” Wailing like a banshee, Audrey threw her keyboard across the room to clatter solidly against the wall, and landing safely on the bed. The batteries popped out and hit the floor, and she simply stared at them, tears welling again in her eyes.

It was the goddamn Negaverse! Not only was she shunted aside for Nealite and god only knew who else, but now she didn’t even have a place where she’d always been welcome! They’d understood her in that guild, and now they just threw her out? By herself?! What the hell could you do when you were shucked out of a top guild? Nobody would ever take her now! Letting out another cry of frustration and loss, the birthday girl dove on her bed, wailing loudly into her pillow.

IT JUST WAS NOT FAIR!

“Pasha, I’ll be right back ok? I forgot something upstairs!” Dashing up the stairs to her room, she left the bright boy with a face full of cake. Audrey wasn’t even entirely sure he heard her, or he cared. After all, cake was very serious business! Standing in the doorway of her room, she looked around slowly. Somewhere, there was a cache of party supplies. Noisemakers, party hats, that sort of thing. Her mother had forbidden them at the dinner table, but Audrey was determined to live it up and be as silly as she possibly could. They even had fake feathers at the bottoms of the cardboard!

A pile of several messenger bags was heaped up next to the behemoth desk that her father had build for her years ago. The new TV flashed with colors as the screensaver played along its sleek front. It wasn’t until the cold wind blew in across her face that Audrey even realized that the window was open. It was curious, really. She didn’t remember her mom going upstairs at all, and dad had gone out with the guys for fantasy football tonight.

So who had opened the window?

Cautiously, the birthday girl went over to the window and stuck her head out, looking every which way. It didn’t look as if anyone had been disturbing the tree, and no one was in the yard. The gate was still firmly latched even! Reaching up to close the window, a paper package on the floor right in front of the sill caught her eye. It was a plain square of brown parchment, like for wrapping boxes of goodies to send your family at the holidays.

However, this package was much too small to be anything like that, no more than a 6x6 inch square. There was nothing written on the outside, no ribbon around it. Nothing. Simply a few strips of tape to hold the package together, that Audrey discarded with abandon and curiosity. Nestled inside was a strange Celtic hammer-like pendant on a fine silver chain. In the center where the haft met the bottom piece, was a deep greenish stone, glistening in the lamplight. It was pretty, certainly, but what could it possibly be for?

Upon further inspection of the package, a bright orange post-it note was found tucked inside where the necklace had rested. In a messy scrawl, it said simply “Happy 17th”. There was no name, no identification of who it could have come from. It was simply there, all by itself. Shaking her head, Audrey set it down on her desk, and jiggled the mouse to dispose of the screen saver. By bringing up the browser and Googling ‘hammer jewelry’ for just a moment, she almost immediately lit upon what looked like a similar representation of her present.

“Thor’s Hammer.” Audrey said aloud, reading from Wikipedia. “Based on the hammer of the God Thor, in the age of Vikings these pendants were worn largely to invoke the protection of the guardian of gods and mortals alike, Thor himself.” So. It was for protection? Certainly, she could use a little more. And if Thor wanted to give her protection, she would most gratefully take it!

Unclasping the chain, it was quickly fastened around her neck, where she admired it. It hung just a little lower than Pasha’s tiny potion bottle for health, and Audrey couldn’t help but feel a warm glow when she saw both. Obviously someone else out there cared about her, but didn’t feel that she would accept a gift face to face. One day she’d figure out! Picking up the paper, she folded it carefully and tucked in her desk drawer, before closing the window entirely.

It was only at that moment, she spotted the bag of party supplies, nowhere near where she thought they’d be, having been kicked under her bed during her tantrum earlier. Picking up them with a cry of triumph, Audrey raced back downstairs, calling for her best friend.

Perhaps it wasn’t such a bad birthday, in the end.

Taking your first star seed was a rite of passage. As a Negaverse soldier, it meant that you were finally in the game, that you had a place and a purpose. It wasn’t that it was hard, it was just that it was so very messy. No one ever willingly gave their star seed, with exception possibly of the incredibly suicidal. So when a girl took her first star seed from a man’s living chest, it was a cause for celebration.

So why was her stomach in knots? Why were her fists clenched tight, and cold sweat beading on her forehead? Linarite should have been exultant, triumphant, crowing with joy! As she ran, the girl prayed silently that these thoughts would pass as part of the wind flowing through her blue hair. Fluidly, she vaulted the chain link fence that served as a barrier to keep outsiders away from the Hillworth grounds.

Good thing Lina wasn’t exactly an outsider.

Pausing, leaning against the back wall of her General-King’s beloved gym, she tried to take deep breaths, and calm her nerves. This only served, however, to deepen the nausea that was roiling in her stomach. And then, with only a hiccup as warning, vomit spewed from between her lips, and Linarite fell to her knees, eyes wide with shock. Chest heaving, her body voided several times, spilling out her lunch on the vivid grass, much to the shock and horror of the young Lt.

Arms wrapped firmly around her thin midsection, trying to ease the pain of protesting muscles and furiously trying to swallow and hack the foul taste from her mouth. It started with silent tears, coursing down her face in objection to this bodily revolt, and then became louder as she started sobbing fully, forehead pressed to the brick for whatever cool comfort she could leech from its roughness.

Coating it any way she could, wrapped in all the glory and truth of the Negaverse, there was a portion of Linarite’s mind that was still so fully human. That part of her mind was screaming at her that she had killed a man in cold blood! Had just knocked him down, beaten him, and stolen his life like it was nothing! Then to add insult to the murder, they’d shoved him in a cello case, and dragged him across town to be dumped in a construction site of all places!

It was callous, cold, and absolutely inhuman. But then, wasn’t that what she was becoming? What she was striving for? The sacrifice of her humanity, to change the world and remold it into the perfect ideal of the great Negaverse! They needed star seeds by the gross, by the ton, by the megaton! As many as could be obtained, so that their Queen might live again and drive the disgusting senshi from this world!

Feeling this goal warm in her heart, Lina dragged her sleeve across her mouth and spat one more time, in disgust of her weakness. Never again would she let these stupid feelings take over her body and make it do what she did not want. Linarite would take seeds, and she would enjoy it!

Quickly pulling the guise of Linarite deep within herself, Audrey Collins walked out from behind the gym at Hillworth, and sauntered casually over towards the hard wooden door of Gunn Killingworth’s office. She had a present for the General-King, and she knew he would greatly appreciate it!

Down in the den, Audrey was curled into her favorite chair, staring at the sheaf of papers on the floor in front of her. Several were neatly printed on letterhead, declaring proudly the name ‘Barren Pines College’. A colorful, glossy pamphlet advertised their challenging curriculum, beautiful campus, and the absolute lack of any tuition whatsoever! Reaching down with bright blue nails to match her hair, courtesy of Pasha the night before, she grabbed the pamphlet and one of the crisp white pages.

The typed page was an invitation for Miss Audrey Collins to transfer on account of her acute prowess in the field of mathematics. She couldn’t help but smile a bit smugly at that part, and think of her insufferable rival, Janice Fitzpatrick. When she got to school on Monday, it was going to be absolutely blissful to drop the name and see the confusion. The envy. It would be truly beautiful.

The campus certainly looked pretty enough, and the dorms looked absolutely massive! Certainly as spacious as her current bedroom, without the trouble of meddlesome parents catching you coming into your house at three am through the window. Wondering where those scratches and cuts came from, when just meager hours earlier, you had absolutely no such thing on your person!

Going to Meadowview had reinforced her idea that teenagers didn’t pay attention to anyone but themselves, and she wouldn’t see her teachers enough for them to think anything strange of her various injuries. She could easily pass it off on mere clumsiness, and there would be no one to contradict her! Thinking of her recent in-game disgrace, she could also all but drop that entirely. If she wanted. She didn’t really want to, but she could most certainly scale back. And nobody would know that she was an incredible game nerd!

There’d be no reason to tease her and think her awkward! It was too perfect! Perusing the pages again, she paused on an image of a group of laughing, happy students. The uniforms, of course, were to die for! Knee-length plaid skirts in dark red and gold, the cutest little black sweater over a white top with…was that a cravat?! Ohmigosh! The buttons were even little stars! Pasha would love that!

That thought dimmed her enthusiasm, more than slightly. Her head came back down to earth, and settled on her shoulders, as she looked at the picture frame she had purposefully set on the coffee table next to the paperwork. BFFs, it proclaimed loudly. Would she still see Pasha if she went to this new school? Undoubtedly. Would it be the same. Probably not.

Could she do that to him? He’d been such a good friend, though they hadn’t been friends for long. Pavel was cheerful, caring, an absolute delight that nobody could dislike at all. Ever. He would be sad if she transferred, but she didn’t think he knew what a grudge was, let alone how to hold one. But the hurt was something that she’d have to deal with, no matter what.

Sighing, she curled her arms around the stuffed owl that was usually carefully placed on a shelf above her bed. Audrey only ever really pulled it down when she needed strong comforting, and with the turbulent day she’d had only 24 hours earlier, coupled with this hard choice, she needed him. One more time, she picked up the pamphlet in one hand, and a picture in the other.

She stared for long moments, considering. Weighing. Picking apart all the pros and cons in her mind, and then with a deep sigh, she set the paper down and hugged the picture frame, eyes closed. Audrey barely moved for a full quarter of an hour before slowly, she untangled from the chair, set down both turtle and frame, calling for her mother.

There was admission paperwork to fill out.

Ursula was going to pay for this. It was bad enough that she had come to this glorious new start school, with a new identity fresh in her mind. And then, she'd found out that JANICE was there! Janice Fitzpatrick, of all people! She'd thought that the misery of Janice could be left behind, but no! Not at all! Not even a little bit! No doubt the b***h was going to make this inordinately humiliating for the seventeen year old, so she had decided to take the initiative and mock it from the beginning.

She had made sure, most decidedly, to leave class as soon as possible, and bust it across the campus to the theatre. Audrey Collins was going to be one of the first people to audition, come hell or high water. Then, she could sit right next to that foul director and make asinine comments about what an absolutely miserable farce this whole thing was.

I mean REALLY. Did she expect to fool anyone? Nia was so very obviously Nealite that anyone who’d spent more than ten minutes with the insufferable woman would know exactly what this was about. Obviously, Charonite had been without a heart so long that the more obvious passes the foolish bint was making went straight over his head. Most of them wanted to keep it this way.

When she arrived and seated herself in side of the theater, there was luckily only one whole person in front of her. Score! As she listened to him, she couldn’t help but smile. The passionate lines, given in such a droll tone! It really must be burning her pants to have to listen to it delivered in anything but an enthralling manner. The idea sent little gleefits through the teen and she couldn’t help but grin ear to ear.

This might actually be more fun than previously anticipated!

As he started to descend from the stage, she all but leapt from the chair, careful that the adorably plaid skirt of her brand-new Barren Pines uniform didn’t embarrass her in front of the entire assemblage. That was always quite important! Prancing on over towards Ursula…that was, Miss Johnson, Audrey handed over the form with a smug expression. “Don’t worry Nealite, I’ll do you proud.” she murmured in a tone only the two of them would be sure to hear.

Calmly, purposefully, she mounted the stage and stood calmly in the center. Folding her hands in front of her in the most innocent, adorable expression Audrey could portray, her eyes swept across the stage. Emphatically, she enunciated every single consonant and syllable so that there could be no doubt of who she was. “My name, is Audrey Collins. I will be auditioning for what I feel is the best role in this play, the role of the Fairy Godcat.”

In truth, it embodied the whole soul of this production. It was absolutely goddamn ridiculous. Clearing her throat, and smiling broadly at the director in the front row, Audrey opened her mouth and keened the lines as deadpan as she could.

"Meow. Meow meow meow mrowwwww mew meow meow meowmeowmeow. Meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow meow MEOOOWWWWW meow meow meow mewmeowmeowmeow mrowww."

Winking once at the camera for effect, Audrey curtsied, turned, and skipped right off the stage. Eat that, Nealite!

In every child's mind, there are several things that are impossible. It's truly impossible to be hurt, when you're with your parents. It's truly impossible that people could really be as bad as you see on tv. Unfathomable, that one day when you leave high school, you will miss it dearly. Audrey discarded these notions ages ago. Parents were not magical shields from all the bad things in the world, and in fact, tv was toning down the dangers of everyday life. Certainly she wouldn't want to leave school entirely, but after high school was college and all of its marvels! Since she'd become a Lieutenant, however, she had discovered a few more things that she thought were impossible. For instance, she didn't think that anyone could truly harm them. But Khal has been put into the hospital, nearly dead. The General King had been wounded by that rogue cavalier, Kunzite. And Tanzanite...she was dead.

That alone had swung into her belly with enough force and viciousness, the words coming from the mouth of the boy she thought was immune to it all. Castor had known, had witnessed, had done nothing. There was the small, logical, decent part of Audrey's mind that told her that there was nothing he could have done. Queen Beryl had been there. But who had killed Tanzanite if not Castor? Had he stopped, it perhaps he himself would have died and would that be better? Traitorous, treasonous thoughts boiled and churned through. What if Tanzanite had been just a bit slower? Would she have been so torn to know that her archnemesis, the wife of her honored General King, her Queen was dead? The answer was a simple no. Yes, she would have mourned the loss of a powerful comrade but past that there was nothing attaching her to the orange-haired woman.

Why Tanzanite?! That was all she could ever reason, the overlying theme to all this agonized thought as she lay on her bed, staring at the ceiling. There were several lieutenants that would be missed, certainly, but were so fresh that they squeaked if they turned too fast. Tanzanite had, even out of the box, been different. She'd all but thrown herself into the work of the Negaverse and in their brief battle together had earned Lina's respect and admiration as a warrior. Turning, Audrey curled her face into the stuffed penguin she was clinging to like a lifeline. They'd been warned, when Nova had abruptly died, hadn't they? When Khaldun had gone into the hospital, she'd worried certainly, and been a sight more careful because of it. But Khaldun was a bit headstrong, and no doubt took on more than he could chew with thinking little for the power differentials. Linarite would never do such a thing!

So what had gone wrong? In fact, what had happened at all? Slim fingers stroked the plush of the bird's body as she thought through what had come from Castor's mouth. He hadn't killed her, who had. He knew, didn't he? The Queen also knew, but there was absolutely no way that she could go to that quarter and ask anything whatsoever. What was she to say, she'd learned the information from the senshi that they were supposed to kill on sight? That she'd been cuddled up into his lap when she'd found out, and fled before she could learn the entire truth? But how did she know the truth? Maybe he had killed her? Could he be that ruthless? She could.

It seemed so strange, to think of blood staining the hands of Sailor Castor. He'd been so tender with her, until that last desperate moment before she'd run from him. Always so kind, so gentle with her, someone so different from everyone she'd ever really gotten to know before. Their meetings had been dangerous and brief, but that hadn't mattered so much because they had been together and it had felt so right. But now someone Linarite cared for - no. Someone Audrey cared for was dead, wasn't coming back. The reality of their war versus the senshi was more real than ever. She couldn't risk things anymore, she would have to avoid the bench and avoid Castor until there was another lull. If there was a lull.

But what if she was next?

Hours had passed, and still Audrey was laying on her bed. Her rich blue hair fanned around her body and blended with the cheery bright colors of her bedspread, totally at odds with the dark thoughts and her grim mood. Slowly she'd drifted from hugging the stuffed animal to clinging it like it was the only thing that could save her. She'd thrown it across the room, retrieved it, cuddled it some more. At the moment, it simply lied on the bed next to her and now and again her deep gold eyes flickered to it, out the window, and back to the cheerful bird declaring its love. Some things were easy to fake. It was easy to fake, for example, that she was simply broken up over the loss of a strong warrior of the Negaverse. Certainly Aree had been her friend, and her loss tore a hole in both heart and soul that would be difficult to repair. After all, the only deaths she'd witnessed before in her life had been almost inconsequential. The lives she herself had taken, and one innocent life that had been snuffed out over a decade before Nealite had donned the mantle of Negaverse lieutenant.

Shoving that secondary thought away from her mind, the teen turned fully away from the window and hugged her knees up to her chest, listening to the music that idly streamed from her computer. It'd been playing all day, all top 40 dance and pop hits, all askew to the mood of the girl who was only half-listening to their bright lyrics. Sometimes she thought of the lives she'd so casually winked out of existence on her quest to make her beloved Negaverse stronger. But more and more often, she thought of only one life - her own. For instance, it had never occurred to Linarite previously that she had been incredibly lucky. Yes, the cuts she'd earned from that boy senshi overnight at Meadowview had been incredibly painful and had taken weeks to heal. Even now, she has a few thin scars on her torso and arms where they would always remind her to be careful. But she'd never been truly wounded like Ursula had been. Nowhere near the pain Khaldun had felt. Tanzanite had paid the ultimate price for her devotion and loyalty, hadn't she? All that strength and dedication was nothing in the face of mortality, was it?

No, none of them were infallible. This wasn't like Warcraft where if you made a wrong step, a wrong move, you simply ran back to your body and started over. At the worst, you sat around weak for awhile while the Spirit Healer did her work. No, in this world - this war, you made one wrong move and there would be no more chances. No more lives. In the face of this, how did you go on? How did you continue to fight when you knew that at any moment things could go horribly wrong and you could lose that which was most precious to you? There were now so many questions, when before there'd been answers. So many answers that there weren't questions to put them to. Before her, Audrey had always seen a shining future that had made sense and brought such joy. Yes, there were sacrifices made. But never personal ones! You weren't supposed to sacrifice if you did all the work, right? Wasn't that how things went? Why hadn't this been instilled in them early?

Slim arms came to wind around her body and cling tightly as, for the first time in a long time, Audrey felt true fear. Fear that one day she would slip on a jump, or perhaps she might meet a truly powerful senshi. Something she couldn't run away from, or beat down, or handle all by herself. After all, she was just a tiny little thing wasn't she? Over and over the questions streamed through the bluenette's mind like the music that flowed through her room. And then before she had even realized it, stress and worry took a backseat to basic needs. Curled again around the cheerful reminder of Castor's love, Audrey had fallen asleep. Fears would continue to haunt her dreams, and shatter her sleep, but for now she had blessedly descended into an exhaustion past awareness.

Soon, a time would come when questions would be answered - for good or bad.
