Out of everything Audrey thought she'd be doing New Years Day, going to the wedding of her biggest enemy and her respected, beloved General King was not one of them. Certainly she also had not expected what had happened between her and Khaldun. It was a relief though, to be an honest woman once again. It was easy to lie, cheat, and kill for the Negaverse. In the end, it was for something more noble than she could hope for. But in the bluenette's private life, she strove for a little more purity and honesty. It was as if she could make up for her bad things, by just a little bit of good.
However, it never seemed to even out just quite right.
So to cheer herself up, and convince the surly, shaven young man in the hospital that she really didn't hate him for what he'd said, Audrey was spending a good chunk of her day trying to make Khal smile. It was something that wasn't especially easy, and even though she'd been his girlfriend, the teen knew very little about the mysterious lieutenant. In the end, however, either he caught onto her dastardly plan, or he just wanted her to go the hell away. Because Khaldul Cilentani smiled. Full on. Even without the hair, it wasn't bad.
So it was with a laugh and a smile of her own, thinking that things couldn't be too awful, that life decided to give her just a little bit of a reality check. It was standing right in the hallway, tapping one expensively heeled foot and eying the Meadowview student with the same old standoffish gleam. Audrey stopped in her tracks, sighed, and smiled. The Queen of the Negaverse. Queen. Negaverse. Play nice, Linarite.
"Hello Ursula. Shouldn't you be...I dunno, getting your hair done? I always hear that wedding preparations take all day." There. It was nice....kinda.

"I was on my way to the appointment, actually, but there seems to have been a blue haired delay on my stop beforehand."
Her heel continued to tap as her free hand rested on her hip. Her other hand was occupied with a coat hanger, and what appeared to be a man's suit danging from the hanger over her shoulder, draping down her back.
With the hours counting down until "the big night", she'd come by to drop off his suit before making her hair appointment with the salon. Audrey, of all people, of course had to choose this time, above any other, to invade Khaldun's personal space and take away the precious minutes Ursula had to spend on this minor side trip.
"I expect you'll be attending, tonight?"

Had it been just the two of them, Audrey might have ventured the mocking little curtsy she was just dying to perform. However, they were in the middle of a busy hospital and had absolutely no privacy. Instead, the girl simply nodded perfunctorily, eyes not bothering to hide her disdain at the idea of the whole venture.
"Of course. I wouldn't miss it if the world ended." Really. She wouldn't mind if the world just ended now and this whole joke of a union never came to fruition. Really! "As a matter of fact I was just leaving now so that perhaps I could be somewhat suitably fashionable for the event." It was going to take a good solid amount of Youtube tutorials to get her hair into anything remotely resembling a decent hairstyle! And the makeup?! She couldn't help but blush a bit at the shame of it all. At least the dress was easy enough.
"Well if you're running behind, I'll gladly deliver whatever that is for you. Can't upset a bride on her wedding day." Unless you were Audrey Collins, that is.

Ursula paused, the linen bag shifting as she studied the younger girl without saying a word.
Audrey... with Khaldun. Hm.
She had to deliver the suit to Khal. Who was going to be the Best Man in the wedding. Who, for all Ursula knew, could very well make a ridiculous mess about the affairs of the evening. But Audrey.... Audrey was Khaldun's girlfriend, right? Girlfriends kept their boyfriends in line.
Her lips pursed as she thought over the idea. It was terrible but... could actually work. Ugh. Another favor, another humbling moment. And on her wedding day, for God's sake.
"Yes," she said surprisingly, moving to offer the bag to the shorter girl, "That would be very... generous of you."
Eyes looked her up and down, her eyebrows rising slowly. "If you show up thirty minutes or so early, I'd be happy to fix that makeup for you, Audrey darling."
Ursula hadn't forgotten the fact Audrey was still in desperate need of beauty lessons. Perhaps she could use this to her advantage?
"That is of course, if you wouldn't mind helping me out with something...."

Queen of the Negaverse. Bride. Queen of the Negaverse. Bride! Queen of the Negaverse, god damn the b***h. Audrey was quietly repeating this mantra in her head as the older woman surveyed her from head to toe and made her shot carefully. Hissing slightly as she exhaled, the teen plastered a smile across her face. "Of course! It's your day after all." The only day she'd give the woman ever again, for absolute certainty.
Knowing Ursula, this would now be a Negaverse holiday, and they'd all be required to hold hands, sing, and give gifts to her on this most blessed of days. Already, she was making a mental list of gifts only seen at white elephant parties for such an event, and her wedding gift was truly inspired.
"And I'd like the help, thank you. You're aware of my....shortcomings in certain areas." Politics. Audrey should have been in them!

"Quite aware of them."
One hand glanced down at a cuticle and then back towards the girl.
"I need you to babysit Khaldun."
Her face was emotionless, as was her voice.
Babysit Khaldun?
"He's going to be the Best Man at the wedding, and, as I'm sure you are aware, he's not feeling up to the part. So I need someone to keep him in line when he's not standing up there with us at the ceremony. Do what it takes. Shove your tongue down his throat. Keep his painkillers away. I don't care, I just need him cooperative, and since my focus will be.... elsewhere, I need someone to look after him. And, as unfortunate as it is, you are the only one capable of doing such."
She left out a soft huff. Ugh, how utterly retarded this all had to come to.
"So, yeah. Make up for babysitting. Deal?"

Queen of the Negaverse. Bride....yeah ******** that. Folding her arms, Audrey's invisible hackles raised straight up and she tried not to glare. "I'll be more than happy to keep Khal occupied so that he'll perform his duties as best he can. Though I doubt I'll need to resort to your methods." She made it sound as if the suggestions Ursula had put forth were only done by the lowest of low people, rednecks and their ilk.
"I'll take that deal, though really, I would have helped him anyway." Her posture relaxed as Audrey looked sadly back towards the room where Khaldun resided. "I feel so useless. We can't help him heal, his hair won't magically reappear. What are you supposed to do for that?" Her voice was somewhat soft, and the bluenette shook her head. "I won't keep you. I take it you've arranged transportation for Khal already, and I should meet him at the ceremony?" she was already winding on her scarf and pulling her coat over it, flipping her hair out of the collar.
"I'm not sure I could take him on the bus with me, it would be rather painful."

"You're supposed to let him just chill out and heal."
Ursula wasn't about to let this little twit know how worried she was over Khaldun, nor how depressed she was over his current physical (and hairless) state. Audrey could have her own concerns, Ursula would have hers and never the twain should meet.
Reaching forward, she shoved the hanger into the other girl's hand before motioning towards the closed door that had a sombrero wearing patient lurking within. She let out a small laugh, giving the bluenette a look that read you really have no clue, do you?
"The nurses wouldn't dare let him on a bus in his current state. No, I'll be coming in shortly beforehand and will teleport him out. If you're here, you can come, else we'll just meet you at the church. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a hair appointment to make."
Rolling her eyes, she spun around on her heels and down the hall, her mind already moving on to the list of things To Do before the ceremony only hours away.

That was the hardest part of being in the Negaverse. Nobody cared for each other. Ursula, who was supposed to be his friend, who was supposed to care about him...didn't. She just wanted to leave him by himself in a room to stare out the window and daydream all day? It was awful! No, she'd much rather run off with her precious, beloved Charonite and revel in her new power.
Fine, good for her. In the meantime, Audrey was going to do the best she could for those she cared for. Including Khaldun. Shucking her outerwear and turning back, she called out into the room. "I'm baaaaaack~! I know you're absolutely thrilled, but don't worry. I'm under orders from a certain lady to be here."
Chill out and heal. What a moron! If this day were any indication, it was going to be a long year.
