((This RP is for the current 7 Negaverse Captains who are all assumed present at this meeting; if any of the 7 would like to make a post at any time, please PM me and I will tag you))

It was a far cry from the meetings Charonite held - the solemn occasions where everyone remained knelt on the cold subspace floor, listening to their General-King bark out orders while their Queen remain nestled silently upon the throne Charonite once sat upon.

There was no Negaverse subspace for this meeting. Instead, the living room of Aree's apartment had six individuals scattered across it, their Queen the only person standing in the room.

Khaldun sat in the only chair in the room, a scowl spread wide across his face. He looked as though he'd been forced to listen to Lady Gaga and Ursula's vocal accompaniment for the past 20 minutes (he had) and silently dared anyone to tell him to cheer up. Audrey sat on the arm of his reclining chair, a bowl of nachos resting in her lap. The bowl had been on the coffee table between all of them, but Aree's new arm had decided (several times) that the nachos looked much better being tossed across the floor, and thus the bowl had been moved. Unfortunately, this did not help much, as the hand was now trying to worm its way into Audrey's lap as well.

Aree, still fighting against her arm, sat on the edge of the nearby couch after having shoved Andrew's feet off of the cushions, the redheaded man having decided upon arrival to stretch comfortably across the furniture.

Serah and Toby, the remaining duo in the room, both sat uncomfortably on the carpet, staring at the other Negaverse Captains as though they'd all spawned second heads. Looking quite confused and out of place, neither said a word - especially after Aree caught the quiet boy attempting to pocket some of the shiny baubles that decorated the coffee table.

These were the future leaders of the Negaverse. Beryl's future Generals.

And it terrified Ursula.

"Alright guys - let's get down to business."

Flipping open the small notepad in her hand, she took a few steps forward while one finger moved to hover over the first line of her pad. "First order of busine-"

"Where's Charonite?"

Orange eyes looked up to meet with Audrey's. Everyone seemed to have the same question written on their face - Ursula had mentioned a Negaverse meeting for the Captains... but where was their fearless lilac-haired leader to run it? Was he running late? And why in the world were they still in their civilian forms and not in the subspace?

After a brief pause and another glance down at her notes, Ursula cleared her throat.

"He's not coming."

Silence.

"He's not coming because he's not aware that there's a meeting."

The ever loyal (ever annoying) Audrey piped up once more, "Shouldn't we call hi--"

"No."

More silence.

Lowering her pad, Ursula looked up, her gaze moving across the room to meet with the stares of each of her fellow Captains. Her officers. Beryl's soldiers.

"He's not aware of this meeting and he's never going to be."

So Ursula had finally lost her mind entirely, that was refreshing news. At the mention of Charonite's being unaware of the meeting, and the fact that they were about to purposefully keep him in the dark, Audrey could feel her eyes widen a bit and her incredulity grow. Could you actually hide something from Charonite? Yeah, if you never saw him. Hopefully she never would, because the bluenette valued her life quite a lot.

Aree's arm took the lapse in her attention on it as a sign, and lunged straight into her lap and tried to haul both girl and nachos closer to it, subsequently earning it a brisk slap from its owner and the object of its grab. It did however, banish the awkward silence and she shook her head before leaning lightly against Khaldun. "You're the boss, I suppose. But just so you know if this comes out, I'm passing that buck straight up into your lap. I'm sure you're used to that though." It wasn't Audrey if some pithy comment about her being a whore or stripper didn't make it into every sentence.

The teen felt it was quite her job to jab at Ursula whenever she could. Certainly nobody else did. "That being said, carry on, don't hold up on my account." It was perhaps though, a bad idea to antagonize Ursula on neutral ground, especially with Aree within reach. Their mutual friend was probably not past pinching her, and that was not precisely something Audrey would enjoy. Eyes swept the room as the first Captain tried to pick up where she left off, and the girl couldn't but smile at Toby next to the pink-haired kid process of elimination made Serandite.

She'd seen a bit of promise in him when they'd taken down the choral head at Meadowview, but rising to captain? That was certainly a push and she was proud that her senses weren't entirely dull. Serandite wasn't much of a pushover either, for all that she looked a bit like a child at times. All in all, the Negaverse was fleshing out its upper ranks nicely...save for maybe one person. And it certainly wasn't her.

"He's not aware of this meeting and he's never going to be."

That was undoubtedly more than enough to earn a few arched brows all throughout the room, and Drew tilted his head back with a faint grin, openly amused with this little show of defiance. Ursula Killingworth, hiding things from her man, her General-King. Who would have thought this day would come? The redhead was steadily ignoring the commotion going on between Aree’s-Magic-Arm and Audrey, debating whether or not he should throw something heavy at Khaldun and break the kid’s nose just for the hell of it.

He still looked like a mess and knew it, his blackened eye rolling over the new Captains to join their ranks. Good old Tobernite, and that pink-haired b***h, too. He remembered her, little more than a squalling babe the last they’d met, concerned with fashion and how rude he’d apparently been.

Yeah, he’d settle for bruising that pretty neck of hers, for old time’s sake.

“Showing some defiance, Queenie?” He asked innocently enough, snorting to himself before he swung his legs around and made to sit up. “So? Out with it. I’ve got s**t to do.”

That, and it was really, really weird being in Aree’s apartment. Not that there was anything wrong with it, but this all felt a little too personal for him. And unless she had drinks spiked with a hefty amount of vodka, he wasn’t interested in lingering and making chitchat.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 18, 2010 10:41 pm

Aree was uncomfortable.

There were so many reasons why Aree was uncomfortable that she would have needed another five youma arms to count them all off on her fingers. As it were, she could pare it down to a few primary causes. First, her apartment was full of people she was only barely acquainted with. Second, they were there more or less betraying (a dramatic word, but fitting from Aree's point of view) their General-King. Third, Drew Collins had his ******** feet on her ******** couch and she could feel her arm practically bristling with the desire to choke him. Fourth, Audrey was leaning against Khaldun and that was not cool and she couldn't put into words why that was so not ******** cool but it was so not ******** cool. Fifth, Drew Collins was sitting a few feet away and she couldn't decide if she liked that or hated that and if she wanted to applaud him for being a capable Captain or wring his god damned neck fro being Drew ******** Collins. Sixth, Drew Collins was in her apartment. Seventh, Drew Collins was touching her things. Eighth, Drew Collins was breathing in her general vicinity. Ninth, Drew Collins was within twenty feet of her diary, her underwear, the pink Care Bear her mother had given her when she was six that she just hadn't had the “time” to throw away, and her private stash of premium liquor. Tenth, he seemed to know all of this, and sat there looking like a cat in a creamery.

Okay, so maybe she couldn't pare it down so much. The point was, Aree was filled with feelings. Feelings were not her thing. Feelings made her clench and unclench her fists and her sides, made her gaze linger a bit too long on Ursula, Audrey, even god damned Drew Colling. Fortunately, her face was almost always set in that expression of stern disapproval, so the way her jaw was set and her lips were pursed into a thin line was unlikely to give anything away.

The arm gave Audrey a little squeeze as she let the verbal abuse slip, but nothing more. It slipped away from her as Aree stood, speaking over her shoulder as she strode into the kitchen, “Your right hand and that bottle of lotion can wait, Drew.”

She returned a moment later with a pitcher of water, a stack of empty glasses, and two glasses half full with clear liquid on a tray. All of these were set on the table, one half-glass taken for herself, the other handed to Drew. She gave him a meaningful look.

“I'm not comfortable with this,” Aree said at length. She paused, took a sip from her glass, and studied the coffee table: “The General-King led us well until the Queen's return. I trust his judgment, but...” Grey eyes lifted to Ursula, “You are our Queen. I will follow your orders.” She said this with such finality that there could be no doubt as to the truth of it.

Serandite was not comfortable for entirely different reasons. She tried to make herself comfortable by sitting against the wall. She really did. But with such.. companions for this meeting, who would feel comfortable?

There was Ursula. She was fine. There was Khaldun and Audrey that Serah had deduced was Hematite and Linarite. Tanzanite-- Aree was definitely changed from the last time that Serah had seen her. She wasn't sure whether to state it was for the better or worse. That arm creeped her out-- Serah wasn't about to question at what seemed to be obvious knowledge. Damn, there was Drew here too. Arrogant as usual. She wanted her rabbit to keep close and hug for comfort but that would no doubt label her more of a child in the eyes of these captains more than she already was. She wasn't about to put up with them all silently labeling her as a damn child. (Even if she still was one.)

By this point, she had breaken out of her temporarily nervous state and slid across the floor, leaning against a wall, a specific distance between herself and Tobernite. She was just bristling with hostility towards the white-haired captain-- although why was anyone's guess.

"Heh, that's quite the interesting statement." Serah commented cheerfully but not without interest. Keeping a secret from the General King? That was interesting-- and nearly impossible. But hey, becoming his wife had been nearly impossible too. Serah had confidence that Ursula could somehow execute the task.
PostPosted: Thu Mar 18, 2010 11:52 pm

Without missing a beat after the initial reactions, Ursula returned to her notepad, "I would be happy to make an example of you, Audrey, as to what will happen to any person who chooses to tattle to the General-King. I'll give you a hint: it involves death, death and more death, courtesy of both Beryl and myself."

Aree downed the rest of her vodka.

"Charonite has led us well," she agreed, moving to sit on the armrest of the couch. Her eyes moved up to meet with the taller girl's, "And all of you will continue to pay him the respect he deserves as your General-King. You will follow his orders." One leg moved to cross the other, "As long as they do not conflict with my own."

Her notepad flipped to the next page - Aree could see it looked like a list of names. What in the world was Ursula planning?

"He has ordered all of you to run away should you find yourself in a confrontation with Captain Kunzite." Serah looked down at the ground at the mention of the Cavalier's name, her small fingers picking away at the fibers of carpet. Drew remained unphased, while Aree's monster arm twitched. "That has resulted in five poor run-ins. Five, including Nova's death. That is unacceptable."

No one said a word. All of them, at one point or another, had seen the corrupted senshi's body in the subspace. They knew of Charonite's warning, knew what Kunzite was capable of.

"Collecting star seeds is essential, but it is getting us nowhere. While we're fetching star seeds, the senshi are growing in number by the day. With the Zodiacs' return and Kunzite's leadership, they are becoming more of a threat than ever before. And we don't run from threats. We eliminate them." Her notepad pressed against her leg, "The General-King thinks you're incapable of taking down Kunzite. I beg to differ. One on one, no, you cannot beat him. He's trained, experienced. But with combined effort I am more than certain he can be taken down and killed."

The notepad was lifted and she waved it gently in the air. "Which is why each of you will be assigned lieutenants to oversee. I have come across far too many that have no idea what they're doing, that have no clue what star seeds look like or, god forbid, think that they're helping a person by removing them."

Toby had enough sense to look guilty.

"So you're going to train them. You're going to teach them what it means to be an officer in the Negaverse and you're going to show them what you know. If they ******** up then you are going to be held accountable for their actions. I want them trained, I want them sparring. I want star seeds. I want results."

Returning to her notepad, she began to read off her list. "Drew, you will be overseeing Variscite, Ametrine and Bixbyite. Khal, you'll be assigned Uranophane, Fayalite and Celestine. Audrey has Zinkenite, Scheelite and Wolframite while Aree, you've got Ulexite, Valleriite and Moonstone. Toby, you're getting Graphite and Rhodocrosite. Serah, you'll have Rhodizite, Sassolite and Kremersite."

Setting down her notepad, she looked up to gauge the reactions of the others.

"Any questions, before I move on to the next order of business?" Khaldun's mouth opened and Ursula raised one hand to silence him, "Any questions that don't involve asking if you can trade lieutenants?"

Khaldun's mouth closed and he returned to scowling.

The mention of Kunzite did make Serah uncomfortable. Her eye twinged in reminder of the two sore bruises he had left and her hands throbbed in memory of the deep cuts. But Ursula spoke sense. Serah's head tipped up in interest at the mention of the word 'combined efforts.' She took the next assignment in with the raise of her eyebrows, wondering how she could lead a lieutenant. Sure, she had taught Wolframite but that had only been the basics. What do you to to oversee a goddamned lieutenant?

Serah looked away when Ursula mentioned the mistaken impression of 'helping' by taking away starseeds. She hadn't been much better but a small part of her grinned from seeing Tobernite's guilt. At least she hadn't thought she had been helping them.

The rest was explained in precise detail in Ursula's no-nonsense tone. She recognized.. some of those names. She couldn't help but wince at those under Drew-- Bixbyite of all people? Serah wouldn't have wished that treatment even to her worst enemy. Variscite? Well, Serah had discovered an avid dislike-- almost repelling feeling against her. Most of the other lieutenants remained unknown to her or seemed fine under their respective captains. She recognized a select few-- but not too much.

"What if we don't know these lieutenants? Are you planning introductions for us, Ursula?" Serah asked, grinning, her hand clapped together in malicious pleasure.

Lieutenants. You could order them around. You could beat them. You could take them and drag them stuffed animal shopping. You could even dress them up. (Ursula hadn't said so specifically, but this was training to deceive senshi okay. It could work in a surprise attack for Kunzite.) It would all be labeled under the command of 'training.' Oh, what a delightful time that they would have. Serah couldn't wait to get her hands on these lieutenants assigned under her, she thought deviously.

There wasn't a single thing Ursula had said that actually instilled any meaning into Toby's brain. He was probably still stuck on the 'you are here with a bunch of other crazy captains, one of them who looks like something out of a M. Night Shyamalan movie', and still had yet to evolve to the 'you have been assignment random lieutenants you have never met or do not know how to contact' phase quite yet.

Actually scratch that, so Ursula had made an inadvertent stab at his ah, tutoring the new Negaverse members, see Scheelite: it was a wonder that she actually was assigning lieutenants to him at all. While he was fairly surprised at the amount of lieutenants listed he had actually met (those poor bastards who got assigned to Obs- err, Drew, he knew them well), Serah's question was also drawing his attention. So was a bathroom break, but considering this was a one time thing, he could wait. Oh, crap. It was a one time thing...right?

"Um," he added, looking a little more alarmed that he might have to be here again, god forbid, especially considering the shooting glares Serah was giving him, "this is just a one-time meeting right?"

Audrey was one of the pleased few, though she desperately wanted to give Khaldun a hug and express her condolences. Though at least Ursula hadn't been crazy or stupid enough to put Uranophane under her, it would have been interesting. Very interesting. Zinkenite, however, that was a pleasant surprise and mimicked Serah in her little clapping gesture. "Goodie goodie, I got one with a brain. Don't know a thing about the other two, except I think Scheelite is the one who eats glowsticks?" Gold eyes searched the room looking for confirmation on this interesting rumor. It was a rumor right? God she couldn't keep them all straight, and she was going to have to start learning to.

Inside, she hoped that none of them were full adults, like Andrew or Ursula. There were a few that she'd met that seemed to be that way and it wasn't entirely a pleasant thought, ordering around someone bigger than you. Z was easy, and if she could get Z in her pocket (wait, didn't she already?) everything would smooth itself out. Pressing on, she wrapped an arm around Khal and squeezed lightly in deep sympathy before hopping up and getting a glass of water. Knowing her compatriots, she was careful to sniff before taking a drink.

"So what you're saying is we're also to patrol and keep an eye on our Lieutenants, if they run into trouble, throw in and help?" Eyes rolled to the ceiling as she mulled this over. "Might be able to take Kunzite in a larger group with some training, but we're the only ones with youma and the teleport." One foot jiggled idly as Audrey considered the possibility. "Perhaps a watch rotation in the main subspace in case help is required, and can be ported out from the main monolith?" Lieutenants were customarily yanked into the Negaverse when meetings were required, being unable to haul into the space on their own power, and left by a main transport stone set in the antechamber of the throne room. Done right, it would have a small reserve force within range of any captain that needed it.

"However, you'll take the hit to seed count, but it gives downtime for training in the middle of the night, I suppose." Shrugging, she drained her glass and played with it idly from her perch. "A thought, I guess, while we're having our delightful little party." Later, there would be cobbler, courtesy of Mrs. Collins.

"But, Uranophane?" Khaldun repeated, incredulously, sinking back in the chair somewhat after being cut off. Celestine, he'd had very little contact with in the time he'd been in the Negaverse, and Fayalite was a name he'd never heard before. But he knew Uranophane; Uranophane was Janice. Janice was the girl who had broken one of his fingers for no reason at all. It was still a sore subject to him, even if the finger had, by the grace of god and Killingworth's first-aid knowledge, long since healed over with minimal signs of damage. As far as he'd been concerned, this whole meeting had been one big joke... up until now. Count on Nealite to think everyone in the Negaverse got along as soon as they put on a different set of clothes. "Ursula, c'mon, me and her are like fire and ice. Yin and yang. Sane and batshit insane. I wouldn't want your royal highness to be a lieutenant short of the full set, but, you know, things could happen-"

Ursula, who was clearly not in the mood today, gave him a look that dared him to explain further. He trailed off as soon as they made eye contact.

Silenced for the time being, Khaldun was instead wordlessly competing with Aree's Dr. Strangelove arm, and whatever threat it seemed to pose to him. Once Audrey had returned to their shared chair, he slung an entirely non-youma arm loosely around the back of her waist, hand dangling in case he had to play a discreet game of rock-paper-scissors behind her back. She wasn't his girlfriend any more - there'd beed a mutual agreement that 'it just wasn't working out', 'it was time to see other people', but 'they were still friends, right?' He didn't understand this whole friends thing, not when she did girly stuff like hug him and lean on him and practically sit on his lap here. If they were hints of something, he didn't know what to make of them. Whatever it was he felt about Audrey, it wasn't... love, whatever love was supposed to be like. Just like Ursula, she'd forced herself into the routine pattern of his life, and he needed her to stay in it in an almost obsessive-compulsive manner, at least until he decided he didn't want her in it any more.

"I think the General-King has the right idea about this," he growled, instinctively opposed to being put in more danger than he already was. Orders to retreat and avoid were fine by him. He ran his free hand through his dreadlocks as he spoke up. The avoidance tactics he'd used for a year were completely exhausted. The truth was, while he was sub-par at most forms of worldly knowledge, fighting and the battlefield were two subjects he could actually argue about decently - if he wanted to. It was something he couldn't help but pick up, since he spent far more time fighting and sparring than he ever did learning much else. If he was going to die, he wasn't going to die getting skewered on some cavalier's sword because Nealite was having marriage frustrations and wanted to take it out on her little personal army. Also, twenty minutes of her blasting Lady Gaga in the car had done nothing to soothe his short temper. "Doesn't matter if we spar with our lieutenants till their arms are practically falling off, we're not team players here. Audrey, no one ever remembers to fight as a unit once they get in a fight. Even the senshi know how to do that. You'd just be keeping a couple of assholes in reserve to get their asses kicked."

Well, he never remembered to work with the group either, but he wasn't about to call himself out on his own hypocrisy. His free arm was now resting along the armrest, fingers drumming. "So, Ursula, it's really motivational to say 'yeah, we're gonna kick their asses and take their starseeds next time we see those guys', but it's no substitute for, well, a strategy. So, have you got a real plan before we go re-enact 300 with our lieutenants?"

Ignoring the older members for the moment, Ursula turned her attention towards the newest Captains, still fidgeting on the carpet. "I will meet with each of you to introduce you to your lieutenants, if you don't already know them, as well as to go over some expectations when it comes to training." Eyes drifted towards Drew and then Khal, "As in, making these officers into trained soldiers, not human slaves."

Drew shrugged his shoulders at the comment and Ursula sighed, moving next to address Toby's question, "And no, more than likely I will be visiting each of you on a personal basis to check up on your progress. Group meetings like this are too risky, considering the circumstances. Not to mention a waste of time when we all could be more productive."

Next came a response for Audrey, the perfectly manicured fingernails rapping gently on the notepad in her lap, "While your suggestion is creative, it's not just Kunzite that we're after. Assigning twenty-three people to find and kill one man is overkill - if it takes that many, we're worse off than I ever expected. No, there are more leaders that need to be disposed of and once we take care of them, the rest will scatter and be easy to kill off."

The page was turned on the notepad, eyes glancing down for a brief moment to review the neat cursive handwriting, "I'm assigning each of you to a target. I want you to research them. I want you to find out where they patrol, where they sleep. Their civilian identity. I want you to know these people better than their mothers know them because once you study and learn them, the better your chances are at killing them."

One hand moved out idly and pointed in the direction of Audrey and Aree. "Aree, you and yours will be taking care of Captain Aries of the Zodiac. I know you have little Barren Pines experience, but the Zodiacs reputation has preceded them. They're powerful warriors - don't take them lightly. But without a Captain, they'll lose organization. Audrey, you and your team are being assigned Princess Chronos. You and Aree will be working together with your six to handle the Zodiacs. I trust you two will cooperate and see that the job is taken care of quickly."

She paused, briefly debating warning the bluenette of the tiara-hurling princess. Recalling Audrey's earlier insult, she decided that the Captain should find out that little tidbit on her own. "Drew, Khal, both of you will be assigned Captain Kunzite. Drew, I know you have experience with the Captain - use it to your advantage. But I want to know more. You need to know more and the next time you fight him, I want at least four trained officers attacking him. He's human, he's in the body of a teenage girl, but if he can injure a General-King, he can kill a Captain. You two and your teams can and will handle him. I refuse to lose any more members of the Dark Kingdom to this traitor so, sorry Khal, we're going to fight, not flee this time. Get used to the idea and get used to working in groups."

Eyes traveled from Khal to Serah, who was staring back at her, eagerly awaiting her assignment. Toby, on the other hand, refused to meet her gaze. "Serah, Toby, both of you are being assigned Astraea and the Guardians the senshi have on their side. They're responsible for awakening the senshi - destroy them and you're preventing more senshi from showing up. Khaldun can assure you that these felines are more than your average cat, can't you Khal?"

Khal gave her the middle finger. Ursula simply smiled. "I expect all of you to balance your time wisely. You're Captains, so act like it. The lieutenants need training, star seeds still need to be collected and each of you now has a mission to focus on. There should be no reason to be slacking in any area. I want to be kept up to date with your findings. Do your research, report back to me."

One small hand began to wave eagerly in the air, the pink-haired Captain obviously having difficulty holding back yet another question. "When I meet with each of you, I will go further into detail with you over your targets."

The hand sank, the girl continuing to smile. Her cheerful disposition was beginning to creep Ursula out. "Now - any more questions?"

Princess Chronos.. The name sparked some interest in her. A Princess.. She almost felt envious of Audrey's assignment. Just her luck that Valleriite would be in there. Huh. Even if she didn't know said-princess in person.

Concerning Khal and Drew's assignment, Serandite couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Kunzite was a scary scary girl-- guy, and not an opponent that Serah wished to face again so soon. She wasn't nearly strong enough to try and match those sword skills. It was also obvious that those two male captains had far more experience than she did at battle. A fact that disappointed her, reminding her that she had to get stronger. ARGH, she would spar with those lieutenants to their limit and push herself to the limit.

She was left little time to ponder the rest of her thoughts as both herself and Toby were assigned to the guardian cats, her eyes widening and then shadowing. Not only was she with Tobernite, the guardian cats meant running into Ophelia again. No mercy on either side this time. She didn't need Khal's experience on guardian cats. His reaction was understandable-- those cats were as much trouble as ten naked mole rats running through the room-- if they were as smart as Rufus from Kim Possible.

And.. Honestly, Tobernite and her? Really?

She was all smiles this time, even with the unsaid question being answered. She smiled at Tobernite, tapping him on the shoulder.

"Let's do a good job, okay?" She said in the friendliest, nicest, sweetest and sugary manner she could to Toby. That did not mean good things to come. She hoped she was creeping him out as much as she was to Nealite, even if she didn't know she was creeping Nealite out. Her voice was sickeningly sweet but her eyes were shooting laser beams. Of it they could, they would have been. They practically were anyways.

Khaldun rolled his eyes openly at whatever simpering display Serandite was putting on with Torbernite down on the floor, propping his head up on a leaning elbow. It had taken just one super senshi to nearly kill him before, and everything he'd heard about Kunzite placed him as a hell of a lot worse than one marauding super senshi. So, was he the only one in this room who wasn't absolutely suicidal? Not to mention, who was taking the fall when Charonite finally got wind of this covert operation? Like hell was the buck stopping where he was. This was Ursula's
"Oh, oh, I've got a question!" he called with mock enthusiasm, raising the hand that had previously been hanging behind Audrey. Ursula had been looking around the room desperately for anyone besides Khaldun to pick, even as he was the only one waving a hand at her. Khaldun seemed to be acutely aware of this, upping the annoyance factor exponentially for as long as she avoided him and grinning widely. "Pick me, Ms. Johnson!"

So, finally, she had to pick him.

"Do you really believe the General-King's not going to notice everyone's suddenly trying to bring him the head of Alfredo Garcia? And teams, man. He is the god to which all micro-managers pray. I think he can already ******** sense when someone ******** up, because he is there like that." Khaldun snapped his fingers for effect, looking bitterly humorous. "The secrecy of you going over his head is going to last all of five seconds and you know it. He's gonna notice we train the same people, patrol with the same people, that our starseed counts are all gonna take a hit because we're sitting in trees with binoculars. What am I supposed to say to him if ******** Kunzite guts one of my lieutenants? 'Sorry, sir, forgot about that direct order to run!' Yeah, that's not going to cut it."
PostPosted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 7:37 pm

Feeling the arm slip around her hip had been strange to say the very least. Khaldun wasn't interested in her, the last time they had seriously talked, he'd made that incredibly clear. In fact, she'd only been willing to sit so close to her ex-boyfriend for the simple fact that it was unwise to sit between Aree and Andrew. She certainly couldn't sit in Aree's lap though in normal circumstances that wouldn't have mattered much to the bluenette. It was just that the arm did get grabby and she had to look at least somewhat respectable. And hold the nachos.

Bronze eyes slid over to Khal's face as his hand idly brushed over her back, oddly close to her bottom for her to feel entirely coincidental about the whole thing. Was he changing his mind? God, that's the last goddamn thing she needed wasn't it? And then he opened his big Khaldun mouth and started saying things that probably everyone was thinking, but didn't want to say because it was Nealite. Normally, this would not have hindered Audrey either, but there were two small problems. One, Nealite was also Queen Beryl. Two, Nealite knew her dirty little secret and wasn't above wielding it like an iron hammer to the face. There were just some things that you didn't need the entire Negaverse hierarchy to know, and her romantic issues with a certain senshi was definitely one of them. Especially in front of Aree.

Never in front of Aree.

So it was with slow precision that she started to stuff her face with the cheesy goodness that was nacho, listening and growing more and more interested in the drama that was about to unfold in front of them, considering if perhaps she shouldn't move and save her own life before Khal was blasted back to whatever corner of the globe he had come from. If she even let him stay on Earth at that point. Well, there were worse ways to die, than getting everyone else killed in the process. And really, he had a point. Holding up a nacho for inspection before chewing it noisily in the silence, she shot a direct look at their esteemed leader.

"Far be it from me to agree with Khaldun's stylistic flare-ups, but I do know the General-King is not above beating information out of us if we fail. You can only beat us harder. Should we make ourselves comfortable between his rock and your hard place?" Another nacho joined the first while she collected her thoughts and added on a small disclaimer at the end, one that might just actually save her life. Her poor boyfriend was already doomed, and she was planning a nice speech for his funeral. Actually, didn't she have one written from Barren Pines...hm. "While I think this is a preferable plan than running like an idiot, there are conflicting orders that will eventually have to be dealt with." It was hard, being smart.

But it was Audrey's cross to bear. Hopefully she wouldn't be crucified for logical thinking, but it was little to hope for.

Three lieutenants. Three female lieutenants. He’d kept quiet, letting Ursula continue to steer this meeting down memory lane straight into hell. Seriously, these three, in control of lieutenants who’d probably jump at the chance to rebel? Hematite may have a shot, but Tobernite? Serandite?

This, he was gonna have to see.

Of course, then when bomb was dropped about Kunzite, the redhead unconsciously some, taking a swig of the vodka Aree had oh-so thoughtfully brought to him. "Can do, Queenie." So, they were finally going to get rolling, huh? Three girls though—that was something he’d have to get used to, and quickly. They’d learn, though. If they ******** up this for the Negaverse, for him... Well, it wasn’t forbidden to dispose of useless lieutenants, was it?

Amertrine though. She had potential. Variscite, too, if she’d stop slobbering after younger girls and focus on her duty. The third one was a mysterious to Obsidian. Hung out with She-man, that was about the majority of his knowledge.

He was still thinking even when Khaldun began to b***h and moan, and unconsciously, he groped around on the nearby table until he managed to snatch a book of some sort. Aree was a reader, huh? Maybe. Regardless, he’d throw it hard at the other Captain, not particularly caring if he smacked Audrey in the head by mistake, and got to his feet.

“No ma’am.” The rest of the vodka was gulped down before the glass was set on the now-empty table, and Drew looked as though he was ready to go. Out of unexpected courtesy, he’d linger in case Ursula had anything else important to say before he’d head out the door.

There was work to do.
