"Audrey, if you want to know how to dance like that." He bent low enough to whisper in her ear. "Call me Saturday night."
It hadn't even been a full day since that little incident in the community center, and Audrey was still absolutely confused. It was not even a question of whether or not she'd enjoyed the motion, after all, she'd enjoyed Khaldun quite a whole lot. If she had no pride, she would probably still be enjoying her dreadlocked ex-boyfriend. Then, suddenly, while in the hospital suffering from a near-death experience, he'd given her The Talk and while she'd claimed it was mutual it still had a bit of sting to it. Not to mention there was Castor.
There was a whole lot about Castor that made Audrey unsure of herself.
So it was almost midnight on Saturday, and the bluenette was on her back in bed, staring at the ceiling and contemplating that suggestive invitation. After he'd left her alone in the community center, she'd all but fallen in a heap of dress into the chair to deal with the rush of pure hormones that had shot through her system in response to his offer. Was that what they'd meant when girls talked about Elzo Xanis? Was she too afraid to find out? The answer to both was likely yes.
Groaning, Audrey tried to smother herself in her pillow and yelled in frustration, a long stream of cuss words and threats against herself. Linarite certainly had never given a damn about consequences and risks! Why should she?! Decisively, almost viciously, she pressed the send button on her cell phone and shoved it against her ear so that her mind couldn't be changed. Heat was flaring in her face and the Captain could feel her heart hammering in her chest.
Why the hell didn't he answer his goddamn phone?!

His phone rang. He ignored it for one ring through. It was the Mario theme. He wanted to hear it once through before-"AUDREY?" The caller ID flashed in his eyes before Elzo fumbled to answer. Mario theme song was lesser then Audrey. Way lesser.
Holding the phone to his ear, Elzo's mind took note of the day. Saturday. Night. Maybe he was over thinking it but- "So, wanted to find out about the more...modern dances?" His voice cracked just a bit, brain going to the image of her rubbing that body against his to the thrum of-
No. Audrey wasn't like that. She'd be more of the girl to take a few steps onto the floor, blush, then excuse herself. "Or did you just call to sing me to sleep? Or talk? If you haven't guessed, I'm pretty good with talking." And making a fool of himself. "But I'd like to go dancing if that is why you called."
Elzo hoped that is why she called.

One arm was still thrown dramatically over Audrey's face as she lightly kicked her feet into the mattress trying to master her shame. Really, she had no business calling, it wasn't hard to hear the dire shock light in Elzo's voice. Even he didn't think she'd call! Trying to keep her voice light, she gave a laugh that sounded more nervous than anything, causing her to punch her pillow in frustration.
"Noooo way, you don't want me singing! If anything, it's worse than my dancing. I've been told I warble like a dying duck or some sort of strangled murloc. And uhm...I'd rather talk in person. We can talk while you teach, if that's alright?" Full of restless energy, the teen all but flopped out of her open bedroom window and stared at the tree. "Just tell me where to meet you, and I'll climb out my window in a jiffy." Already, she'd dressed for the occassion in one of her more flowing tunics and perhaps the tightest pair of denim that she owned, which would then tuck into her heels.
Definitely, she wasn't taking any chances in certain departments.

What Audrey didn't see, or rather couldn't see, was Elzo fumbling to slide on his jeans and keep the phone to his ear. Boxers were not accepted to dance clubs. Not without being in pants first anyway. "With my voice, I might make doves cry. So I was told once, before I hit puberty and then they sent me to the back of choir and just told be to look pretty and mouth the words." He laughed. Ah, the days before his balls dropped. Magical, magical days.
"And you danced fine at the community center. Trust me, the dancing at the clubs is wayyyy less intense." Or more intense, if you were talking about sexualization. "Now as I debate the best way to pull my own version of a jail break, I'm going to ask, what are you wear and no, this isn't me trying to flirt." She would know is he was. "But at a club, unless you want guys trying to...you know, get some, wear pants. And make sure your top isn't cut too low. But comfortable." He zipped up his jacket. Checked his ID. Then his fake ID.
"I'm going to warn you, I am a demon on the dance floor." Re: I am a typical pervert on the dance floor.

Fingering the little potion around her neck, Audrey snagged her essentials (money, ID, medical insurance information) and shoved them down into the tight back pocket of her jeans, climbing out the window barefoot, still on the phone. This was generally considered to be 'dangerous', but she'd done it enough times by now that the teen probably could have done it blindfolded and with only one leg. It amused her to think of Elzo breaking out of his room, and was lightly tempted to ask his roommate. It hadn't taken long to ferret out that the boy in the other bunk was none other than Lieutenant Ulexite, and this pleased her. Though she hadn't talked to the blonde boy about it yet, it was still nice to have an intimidate-ready source of information close at hand.
"Oh don't worry Elzo, you know how I dress. No less than two shirts at all times, and my front and back are all securely covered. The jeans are a bit tight, but I figured that wasn't a bad thing. If it is, too bad, because I'm totally already out the window and I'm not climbing back up." One day, her parents might actually realize that their baby girl was shimmying down the oak in the yard and that would make things uncomfortable. How did you tell them you were a murderous vigilante?
"As for your prowess, isn't that why I'm currently all prettied up and sneaking out?" Nerves were disappearing under amusement and giddy delight that for the first time in her life, she wasn't leaving out the window to go do something horrible to someone. Audrey loved the Negaverse, and she craved the change it brought to her life. But sometimes, you needed happy memories. Right now, more than ever, she needed happy memories. "Are you coming over to get me, or should I meet you somewhere? I can walk just about anywhere," and teleport if she couldn't walk "so call the shots, big guy." It was the most at ease she'd been around Elzo before in their entire acquaintance. With any luck, it'd continue on to the club!

He laughed a bit, finally out the window and crouching in the bushes. "Hmm...I might have to take one of those shirts off. Gets really hot in the club." There it was again, that voice that bordered on pervert and playful. If Audrey listened hard enough, she might have detected a bit of longing in his tone. "And I am honored to know that you trust me enough to sneak out and come with me on a midnight getaway. Careful though. I have enough saved to get us to Vegas and back if need be." The rustling of bushes a curse. He's arm had gotten caught for a second on a branch.
Tree climbing with a cell in hand, do not attempt again. Mental note to remember. "Ah, there we go. Busted out of jail, now for hunting for my partner in crime..." He thought about the clubs in relation to his location, and her possible own. Looking at the reserved parking spaces for students... "Tell you what, meet me at Shufflepucks. I'll pick you up there." He fiddled with Marlo's bike, knowing just where the spare key was hidden. If he was going to pick up Audrey, he was going to pick her up in style.

Narrowing her eyes under the street lamp down the opposite direction of Shufflepuck's from her house, she did a quick set of mental math. If he did anything other than run, he was going to beat her there and wait. Not only was it dangerous for him, but Audrey wasn't entirely sure she wanted to waste any time. The night, after all, was rather short. "I'm going to have to run in heels, do you know that?" It came with an edge of breathless laughter as the teen turned quickly and started to run. God bless her Negaverse uniform, or she would have fallen on her face within ten feet.
"Gonna have to hang up now, but I will see you there. We can address my attire then, Mister Xanis." The voice was teasing and flirtatious, promising that he just might get what he wanted. Being that it was her, however, he probably would not. Without even giving him a chance to say goodbye, she clicked the phone shut picked up her pace, trying to even out her breathing. No less than ten minutes later she was leaning against the brick of the old cafe, breathing heavily and standing barefoot on the cool concrete. Running in heels was not as easy when you weren't magically charged! However, being magically charged also drew attention from unwanted quarters. Tonight, she was just going to be plain Audrey Collins. Tonight, she didn't want to be anything else.
Catching her breath, the bluenette ran fingers through curls and settled to wait, eyes flicking to her phone every few minutes and ears perked for trouble.

"Gonna have to hang up now, but I will see you there. We can address my attire then, Mister Xanis." He groaned after she hung up on him. Audrey sometimes was woefully ignorant of the affect she had on him. At least Elzo thought she was. Hoped she was. Taking a relaxing deep breath, he checked his pockets and attire. He was good. Helmet? Check. Keys? check. Going out past curfew on a Saturday night to go dancing with the girl you wanted to someday call your girlfriend? Tripple check. The engine roared to life and before the security of Hillworth could zerg rush their way over to stop him, Elzo Xanis was gone.
She probably saw him before he saw her. But at that cloud of blue hair, Elzo licked his dry lips. She was breathtaking to him. Shining. Some big word he couldn't think of right now. Stopping in front of the cafe, he set the bike into idle. Leather jacket, tight jeans and tee. He thought himself looking sexy and ready for dancing. Now he felt like he was a cliche actor, on a stage he shouldn't even be on. Audrey looked ready for something a hell of a lot more innocent then dancing after dark. "You look great." He was still sitting on the bike. Realizing this he bent over and opened one of the side cases. Marlo's spare helmet. Well, usually his, but he's stolen Marlo's for the night. Marlo's looked more badass. "Uh, just, put that on, swing your leg over and we'll head out." It then dawned on Elzo. Audrey would be clinging to him. In the back of his head, a tiny voice was saying: 'SCORE!'

Sweet God in Heaven. The whole night was becoming more and more surreal, and later she would remember that it was when her partner in escapism roared up to the cafe on the motorcycle as the turning point for the entire venture. Lips parted and jaw dropped slightly first in shock, then closed as her eyes warmed and became giddy with excitement. "If you want to go all the way to Vegas on this, I might just agree to it." Her voice was lightly breathy in anticipation of the ride, the sheer thrill of something so excitingly new.
Audrey was, apparently, an absolute sucker for fast things.
Pulling an ever-present ribbon from her pocket, the bluenette tied her hair into a low bun before settling the helmet over it and flinging her leg around the rumbling machine and all but bouncing with eagerness. There was a small hesitation, however, before her arms went securely around Elzo's waist and she squeezed lightly a moment before her voice sounded again next to his ear. "Is this ok? I doubt I can hurt you, but I would hate to hold on in the wrong spot." As an afterthought, she spoke again and it was rife with enticement. "And is it possible to go very, very fast?" Oh indeed, she most definitely had a weakness for going fast.
At least, in certain areas of her life!

Things tightened. Both in his chest, and in his pants. Audrey was innocent is so many ways. Ways that quite possibly, would torment Elzo forever. The notation she would go to Vegas with him? Well now, talk about wild. An attribute he would have not have pegged onto little miss sunshine and bubble. Still if she wanted too... "Vegas is a bit far, might have to make a few stops along the way but, give or take a few days...oh yeah..." His mind was making the calculations. Very literal, very real calculations on just how he could manage it. "We could go all the way in less then a week." Double meanings, activate!
Patting her knee, the feel of her wrapped tightly around his waist...There was some deity looking out for him, at least a little bit. "As for if we can go fast-" the engine was revved and the bike's kickstand swung up. "You have no idea." Vroom vroom baby, the bike slid up to 30MPH, and while it wasn't fast by any means, Elzo was going to bet this was Audrey's first time on a motorcycle. This would be fast enough for her, he hoped.

There was mild surprise as the bike accelerated, and the driver sounded almost like he was seriously considering hightailing them to the Forbidden City for things that were likely just as forbidden. Embarrassment was swift for Audrey as well as the shyness that was typical of her these days, especially around her companion. Even over the engine, she was careful to modulate her voice so that it reached his ears. "A week? I think my parents might miss me, and then you'll have bigger and better places to go than Hillworth in terms of delinquency. Dancing seems about our speed tonight, don't you think? Though it did sound fun..." The laugh was clear as speed picked up and she started to enjoy it, and indeed, it was fairly fast.
Unfortunately for Elzo, it was not fast enough. On the surface Audrey seemed to be a happy-go-lucky girl with an innocent awkwardness in every part of her life that couldn't be easily banished. Which, six months ago, would have been the absolute truth. However, the Audrey with the knowledge of Linarite was an absolute glutton for the faster things in life. Jumping and sliding down the side of Destiny Tower, leaping across rooftops while running as fast as she could while dodging missiles lobbed by Obsidian, all fast, all loose, all dangerous. This was no exception and while it was still rather thrilling to feel the wind pass them and the ground be eaten by the wheels, she wanted more.
Again her voice came at his ear and her arms squeezed around his waist again. "Faster! C'mon Elzo, you gotta just rip it wide open!" Cajoling, encouraging, demanding, Audrey was all these things and more as she tried to lean into it. "You can't ever get this feeling on a car or bus, and there's nobody around!" Something that was probably about to be problematic for both of them. But she wanted more! Always, always more.

She would have been able to hear the laughter in his chest. Even with engine, the sound of Elzo laughing was still loud and strong. He'd take out girls like this. Dated girls like this. But never once in his life did they make him feel so darn giddy. "For you Audrey, I'd go down the Highway to Hell and back, but for now, let's just hit the club!" Ten miles over the speed limit. While he wanted to see what this bike could do, he also didn't want to run a red light, or, end up in a high speed pursuit. It would ruin the mood.
What mood was set, he wasn't sure, but hey, he wasn't going to kill it.
Arriving at the club, they parked a block down. After all, most fights took place in front, and just parking out front was asking for trouble. Killing the engine, he waiting for her to let go and get off before doing the same. The helmet- "Okay, moment of truth. Helmet hair or no helmet hair?" He made a face. "I always wonder you know?"
"And it might be a little late to ask but...you okay with climbing up fire escapes? Or, do you have a fake ID and if so, lemme see it. Because no offense Audrey." He sighed, realizing the problems they might be facing. "We don't look to be over 21."

It was amazing and wonderful and she almost wished he'd told her ahead of time how he was going to pick her up. There couldn't be any dancing in the world that was half as exhilarating as going fast on a powerful motor, and if there was she couldn't think of one. But she'd asked, and he'd promised to teach her, and there were always other times as long as she didn't blow it. Audrey was absolutely terrified of blowing the most fun she had probably ever had in her entire life. In the back of her mind she remembered another time that was fun, through the haze of blood and smoke, but that had no bearing on her time now, and she would not allow it to.
Scrutinizing his hair carefully, she went over and stood on tiptoe to run a hand through and lightly mess up the arrangement on top. "It was a little frizzy, but now you can probably pull off that sorta lazy and dangerous thing." Remembering her own frizzy pile, a hand went to her own and made some minor adjustments so that it was piled on the back of her head in a messy bun, curls dripping down over her neck. "How's mine? Not awful, though I admit I don't care much. I've already got a date, I don't really need to pick up another one do I?" The smile, though nervous and complimented by pink cheeks, was wide before she continued on.
"And I'm glad you were not about to try and pass me for twenty-one, because I do not think any bouncer in their right mind would buy any ID I tried to foist on them. I'm halfway to eighteen and I barely look fifteen!" The clothes probably never helped, nor the lack of makeup, or any confidence whatsoever. "But that's not a big deal, I'm a veteran climber. Fire escapes aren't nearly as complicated as jumping into a tree from your bedroom window. Lead, and I follow master." The smile was wider now and the girl pulled her face into a doe-like servile, yet somehow teasing expression and holding out her hand to be led.
It was fairly obvious that she was having a very good time.

He let her ruffled his hair, heck, Elzo welcomed her touch. If he was a cat this is where he would purr and rub himself all over her. This idea was ended as she stepped away and asked her question. His mouth went dry. Didn't girls know that when they asked guys how they looked they were going to get- "Audrey, I never said I wasn't dangerous." He smiled his best predator's grin. "And you look damn sexy. I'll have to beat the guys off of you." He would too. Like hell he was going to let her leave with anyone other than h- WOAH. Friend. Friend, just a friend. Well. Maybe he could be protective. She was his 'date' and this was a technical underage club break in. He might have to beat guys away. She just looked way to innocent and sweet yet sexy for her own good.
Yup. Mind made, Elzo would beat any guy that tried to whisk Audrey away from him. Friend zone or not. It was in her best interests. That's all. Yeah, that's all.
"Anyway," ignore my blushing and please look to that fire escape across the street, "We're going to climb up that thing, hop over to the club roof, and enter in that way. And before you ask, no, I did not pull this stunt from Aladdin. It's just the fastest, easiest way to get into the club with out having to run into the security...and the windows got barred on the second floor." Taking her hand, Elzo felt a small bit of tension fade. Just having her hand in his, fingers laced...
It was a good feeling. One he didn't want to screw up. "So, up, up and away?" He was walking her across the street, eyes more on her then on their destination.

When the word 'sexy' had left his mouth in conjunction with his opinion of poor Audrey Collins, all she could do was goggle for a moment before regaining her composure and laughing as they crossed over towards the fire escape and she waited patiently underneath as Elzo jumped to haul on the ladder almost effortlessly. "I don't think you'll have to worry too much about beating guys off me, I'm not really the barwhore type." Not busty, not easy, not drunk. Who would look twice at the tiny girl who was obviously underage? Hopefully nobody but him.
Excited and full of impatient energy, as the ladder slammed down to her level, the bluenette reached out and started to climb until she was slightly taller than the sandy-haired young man and smiled down flirtatiously. "Besides, like I said. I have a date, I don't need another one. Even if you are dangerous, don't girls need a little danger sometimes?" Though she was blushing, it was nice to see the interested look on his face and to feel attractive in her own skin. Linarite had received countless compliments, but Audrey had never before felt that same energy of confidence around herself.
Climbing up to the roof of the club, Hillworth boy hot on her heels, she felt all of those things that were normally reserved for her Negaverse life. Dangerous, beautiful, interesting. That was, until they started dancing, and she fell flat on her face in front of a large crowd. Though she might have started the night well, Audrey didn't have any illusions for later! "So, there's a door up here or something?" Hopefully something!
