When generally stressed, Audrey Collins headed straight for the biggest sugar fix she could find, the more calories she could shove into her body, the better. So when Ursula Killingworth had called her and demanded that they meet up somewhere fairly public in town, the bluenette had immediately demanded the popular Dippin Donuts, so that she might console herself with delicious chocolate-covered cake-y deliciousness when whatever bombshell was dropped on her face. After all, it was Ursula.

So it was with no less than half a dozen in a box beneath her nose that the teen was slowly plowing through the supply and eying the clock with a bit of impatience. If it was important, she would be on time. There was five minutes until D-Day, and the First Lady of the Negaverse was absolutely nowhere to be seen. This only managed to devour the first doughnut, and lead halfway into the second before Audrey could do anything but think nasty thoughts about said lady.

It better have been goddamn important!

Fortunately for Audrey, it was goddamn important. Mostly because, after all, it was Ursula who was demanding the meeting in the first place.

"Come along, dear."

Her head tilted as she glanced over at Heather MacKenzie, her newest recruit. The brunette was pretty in her own right - hopefully she could hold her own when it came to battling senshi and pesky princesses. God forbid they end up with yet another failure. She wasn't completely sure of why her husband chose young girls in frills to be their newest lieutenants, but what was done was done. And it was time to introduce the newly named Paragonite to the ever-always obnoxious Captain Linarite.

Opening the door to the store, she immediately caught whiff of the sugar from within, her stomach quickly reacting with a growl. Of all the places for a meeting... ugh.

Eyes scanned the room and soon fell on the bright bluenette sitting in a nearby table. Smirking to herself, she didn't waste any time as she strolled up to the table, the younger girl by her side.

"Had to pick some place you could eat at, hm?"

"Yes, ma'am."

Heather had followed Ursula to the shop without question or hesitation. Fact of the matter was, Ursula was above her and that's all that really mattered. Though she would have, if asked, admitted to a healthy curiosity of what was going on. Why on earth were they going to a doughnut shop of all places?

Her question was answered almost immediately when Ursula spoke to the blue haired woman who was sitting with a box of the sugary and glazed things in front of her. The brunette quirked an eyebrow, but let it settle quickly. Apparently Ursula was familiar with this particular girl, so it was best to keep her tongue bit for now. She looked young, the blue haired one, that was, younger than herself perhaps. She'd placed Ursula in her early to mid twenties, this girl looked to be no more than a teenager.

Though in her former line of work, she was well aware that age was a difficult thing to judge. With that thought in her mind, she stood patiently, waiting to see if they would be remaining there, or moving on.

Ah, the dulcet tones of the one of the most insufferable people on the face of the planet! Normally Audrey would have thought that Ursula would be the sort of woman who drove her to drink. However, not only was she underage, alcohol held no lure for her. So Ursula Killingworth drove her to eat. Discretely sucking the last of the chocolate off of her fingers before wetting them with water and wiping furiously with a napkin, the bluenette beamed superciliously up at the secretary.

"Well not all of us carry everything we eat in our thighs and bottom, darling. I was so absolutely thrilled at the idea of wasting part of my day in your august presence that I had to immediately run out and drown myself in even more glee." The last was delivered flatly before she turned a friendly smile to the brunette behind Ursula. "Want a donut? Help yourself, I bought more than enough. We might be at this for a few minutes." Certainly it was the only high point of ever going near the other captain, was the fact that there was at least interesting banter.

Nobody could keep up a good insult war like Ursula Killingworth.

"I would cry if it took any longer than that - I have places to go today, people to see, none of which includes you, dear."

Pulling back one of the chairs, she took her seat at the circular table, her eyes avoiding the box that had been shoved in Heather's direction. On any other morning, she'd have snatched up a chocolate glazed pastry without question, but today the thought just made her stomach churn. Perhaps it was too much sugar too early in the morning?

Ignoring the sweets, she motioned with one hand from the brunette to the bluenette. "Heather, this is Audrey Collins. Audrey, Heather MacKenzie. You two will be working together very closely for the next while, so I expect the best behavior from both of you." Eyes fell on Audrey, narrowing, "Before we get any further, though, why don't you tell us more about yourself, Heather?"

The bluenette certainly had a sharp tongue, that much was easily garnered by the brunette. "Thanks," she responded shortly to the offer of donuts.

Hey, donuts were awesome. She took a seat at the table with the two women, and plucked a donut out of the box that was now towards her. Before she could take a bite, Ursula was prompting her with a question. The sort of question it was would normally cause her to make a snarky comment based on how she liked to go on long walks at sunset on the beach, but it didn't seem somehow appropriate at the time.

To be quite frank, she wasn't quite sure what to say. Seriously, hi I'm your newest Lieutenant and I like twirling batons all day? Oh yeah, that's awesome.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Audrey." she began, "I assure you both that my behaviour will be adequately in check." she tapped the doughnut.

"There's not much to tell, I'm afraid," there really wasn't, not that was worth sharing, "so I'll summarize. I'm 19, I attend Sovereign Heights, I use a baton, and not the kind the police use, I'm afraid. I also have the intentions of doing whatever is needed and necessary of me." she paused.

"And I never back down." with this, she took a bite of her doughnut.

Nineteen?! Oh man, that was a bit of a stretch. Trying to seem unconcerned at suddenly being in command of a woman who was two years older than her, Audrey lightly ran her finger through chocolate icing and popped the confection into her mouth before smiling again. "That's good to hear, it should work well with my boys. They're a bit of a strange team, but you'll be good for them. As for my behavior, well." Shoulders rolled beneath her blue curls and the teen grinned. "Don't worry, as long as you're not like this one," head jerked in Ursula's direction, "we'll get along just fine."

Golden eyes swept the girl from head to toe and warmed with pleasure at the fact that she had a bow in her hair as well and looked fairly sturdy. "And a baton huh? So it's like, one of those that they use in the band? I've got a nice staff, not like a wizard's, that you might like to see, remind me to show it to you sometime. Sounds like a good offense, which is also very good." Very good indeed! Though a good thinker, Zinkenite's weapon left much to be desired and Wolframite was good offense as well as Scheelite, if you could control him long enough to get any sort of finesse out of the boy. She was so pleased she even grinned, genuinely, at the other captain. "I might actually have to thank you, and then the world will end! What ever will I do one day when I have to express genuine gratitude?"

It was perfect! Not only was there another girl to stem the flooding rush of testosterone threatening to overwhelm the poor captain, they used similar weapons, and Heather had a bow in her hair. It was obviously fated. Obviously!

Ursula wasn't as much concerned with the girl's attitude as she was her efficiency. Charonite alone could see to it that each teenager kept the appropriate attitude to have (less they have it beaten into them), but it was the manner in which they performed their tasks that had the Negaverse Queen concerned. And, from the sounds of things, Miss MacKenzie had some potential going for her.

Hopefully, if luck would hold out, Audrey Collins could work with that potential and not <******** it up. But, as Paragonite was neither a super senshi with a p***s or a delinquent with dreadlocks (who also had a p***s), Ursula was fairly certain that there was hope for Heather, under the command of Captain Linarite.

God help them all if she'd misplaced that hope.

"I'm sure you'll be able to swallow some of that disrespect long enough to try," she said idly, glancing over her shoulder to look at the counter. To buy a drink or not buy a drink... then again, buying a drink would imply she had intentions of hanging around longer. And Ursula had no intentions of staying around much longer. "It would be quite a shame for Miss MacKenzie to lose her mentor due to insubordination on your part, darling."

"Yeah, it's exactly like one of the ones they use in the band. Actually, I do that on a regular basis." she gave a light chuckle as Audrey gave her a once over. "A staff? I'll be sure to remind you. As for everyone else, I look forward to meeting them."

Heather found herself rather entertained by the two women she was seated with. They seemed to feed off the negative energy thrown at one another. Asides from all that, however, she was beginning to feel the pangs of curiosity about the others she was to be associated with. Hopefully they were as enthusiastic about the future as Audrey seemed to be.

The comment Ursula threw towards Audrey about insubordination caught the young woman off guard. Her eyes quietly moved from the redhead to the bluenette and back again. She refrained from commentary, knowing best when to keep one's yap shut.

It was going to be an interesting ride, it seemed.

Audrey was not phased by the threat, and simply responded by nibbling at more of the cake-like breakfast treat with eyebrows raised. "It's so refreshing to listen to you threaten my life so casually like that. I was beginning to worry you didn't care anymore, and then my heart would really be broken." Though her tone was light and amused, the teen's gold eyes radiated all sorts of hate towards the sophisticated woman across the table and she was forced to distract herself for a moment with a deep drought of chocolate milk before switching back over to her new charge with a genuine smile.

In any other conglomerate of people, the shifts in temperament would have been downright unsettling. But with Ursula, this was comically typical of Audrey's behavior. "Oh absolutely! You'll love Z, he's a total braintrust and Wolf isn't much bad either though they sorta try to outdo each other and it clashes. I think though, that Schee's got a bit of a thing for Z, he hangs on him like the poor kid's a hanger and he's the coat." The wide grin lent to the idea that she found this incredibly humorous. "Keeps him from getting too cocky, at least. Oh! Right." It was one of those moments that should have been accompanied by a snap of fingers or perhaps a light bulb over someone's head as the bluenette dug through her bag and pulled out a slightly crumpled piece of paper and a pen. A quick jot and she was folding it up tight and passing it over to Heather.

"That's my phone number. Day or night it's always on, but like I told the others, please try to not get in trouble during the day unless it's after school? I can't really haul out to save cookies in the middle of English it's really sorta suspicious you know?" Pausing, eyebrows raised and she looked back over at her esteemed leader. "Am I missing anything or can we move on to the ritual sacrifice portion?" She really ******** hated Ursula.

"I wasn't threatening your life, I was reminding you of your position, Miss Collins, and how expendable your current status is. I'm sure some of the others wouldn't mind taking on your crew while you returned to being a Lieutenant yourself."

As the bluenette jotted down her number, the older woman rose from the table, pushing her chair in after her. The smell was becoming too much for her and the company was more than undesirable (excusing the newcomer, of course). "Train her, haze her, just see that the job gets done, Audrey."

With that, she gave the new girl a quick pat on the shoulder before making her way out of the donut store and into fresh clean, unsugary air.
PostPosted: Sat Apr 03, 2010 10:28 am

"I think I can manage to keep my trouble on a post 3pm schedule." Heather gave a slight chuckle and placed the number on the table. Reaching into her pocket, she picked out her own cellphone, and quickly opened her contact list. As Ursula retaliated towards Audrey's quick tongue, she popped the number onto her contact list.

Turning the phone off she felt the older woman's hand pat her shoulder, and she realized that Ursula was heading off. Heather simply watched her go, uncertain of the etiquette that should be maintained in this situation, and then turned back to her new lead.

Tapping something into her phone quickly, she hit send and moved the piece of paper with Audrey's number on it to her pocket.

"I sent you just a quick text there, that way you have my number as well. For whatever reason you may require it." she placed her own phone back into her pocket, giving it a pat as if to make sure it was still there.

"And from what I can tell, you two are just the best of friends." her words were filled with slightly amused sarcasm, as their bantering had been more than entertaining for the past few minutes.

It was almost as if the lights in the shop had somehow been dimmed when Ursula was present, and now that she'd vacated the premises, life went on as usual. Apparently, she was just that much of a downer. Ignoring the vibrating in her pocket, Audrey simply smiled until she knew that everyone was out of earshot before leaning forward, chin in palm. "Oh the very best, and don't take cues from me on this. Not only is she superior as a captain, but she is the Queen. You owe her your loyalty, respect, and if you can't manage the second, you give her the flattest silence you can manage. You never quite know who you are talking to with Ursula, so it's best to treat her with politeness as much as you possibly can."

Leaning back and crossing her legs, the teen picked up another doughnut and beamed fully. "That being said, I can tell you I absolutely hate that b***h, and she'd like nothing better than to wring the life out of me with her bare hands. It's a lovely working relationship, let me tell you." If there'd been any doubt about the mental stability of the officer corps, it had been officially eliminated. They were all fruity as bats.
PostPosted: Sun Apr 04, 2010 6:28 pm

Mental note, don't piss off the queen. Heather locked away that information somewhere in the back of her mind where she wouldn't forget it. She was grateful to Audrey's quick rundown on that little tidbit of info right there. Regarding Ursula with dignity and respect would never have been an issue for the girl, knowing the redhead had been her superior in the first place.

This, however, rather solidified that sentiment.

Audrey, however, was another case. Though she was well aware at this point that the bluenette was her superior, she felt less of a need for rigid formality based on the blunt openness the girl presented herself with.

"I'm sure it does." she chuckled at the notion of the pair's working relationship.

"Anyways, Audrey, it's definitely a pleasure to meet you." she relaxed in her chair a bit, "I can honestly say I am looking forward to working with you." no word of a lie, "Besides, you obviously have good taste." she poked at a donut.

"These things are delicious." oh yes, she could tell. She was gonna like Audrey.
