Dreamy-eyed Linarite got up from the bench that she had just shared with Sailor Castor, finger still wrapped around the poor half-wilted daisy he had given her. She was twirling it under her nose, lips curved as she contemplated their discourse. And that kiss. Her very first kiss! Lina wasn't entirely sure if she should be happy that a senshi had taken it, but still! He wasn't bad to look at, was fairly clever, and had beaten Nealite senseless.

It was horrible, that was for sure!

Suddenly, like a bad dream, leaning against a street lamp at the edge of the road, was the b***h herself. Spiderweb stockings, high heels, breasts bared to all the world in what was absolutely a glorified bra. All monikers of Lieutenant Nealite, rival from hell.

Immediately, Lina panicked. How much had she seen? Would she tell? Of course she'd tell! Looking square into that battered face, her worst fears were confirmed. That grin was the biggest she'd seen so far on any human being. It was an absolutely demonic grin.

Well. There went her life. Farewell, existence. This was going to be incredibly painful. No need to be pleasant.

"What the hell do you want?"

She remained propped against the street light, continuing to savor the moment for as long as she could. Oh, what delicious irony. Lina had been given the chance to destroy Nea only days earlier, and she couldn't. Now the roles had been reversed, and the orange haired lieutenant was going to take a helluva lot of delight in seeing the little b***h squirm.

"Oh, who, me?" She asked innocently, finally straightening herself up as she began strutting her way towards the younger girl. Her walk was slow, a sashay almost, confident and powerful, completely opposite of how she'd been a week ago when Lina had seen her last. "Don't mind me darling, I'm just up to my, what did you call it again? Oh, my two-cent b***h antics."

Her grin was almost painful, it was so large on her face. "Oh Lina, Lina, Lina, what in the world have you gotten yourself into, my darling?"

Body and face frozen in absolute horror and loathing, Linarite could only stand there while she was mocked by the older woman. Finding her tongue and the will to speak, the smile that came to her face was brittle and sharp. This was not going to be pleasant, and really, she deserved this. Somewhat.

"You know what they say about eavesdroppers. They almost never hear anything good about themselves. Not that there's much good to say! And I don't see what you care about what I've 'got myself into'." Proud and defiant, the blue-haired Lieutenant lifted her chin to the other.

"Are you sure you're not jealous? I mean, I know you like the men that knock you around and treat you like you're worthless." This was the Nealite she knew and secretly lusted for! Almost, it was reassuring. Almost.

"Oh, I don't care about you," she sneered in response, stopping a few feet in front of the bluenette, careful to stay out of hammer's reach, should the magical squeaker happen to make an appearance. "I'm thinking about the behalf of the Negaverse, darling. I mean, a Lieutenant fraternizing with a senshi? And not only that, but the very same senshi that eluded Charonite?"

Arms folded and Nealite merely stood there and grinned. She didn't have to say anything, neither of them did. Fingers tapped against her arm, ignoring the slightly sore spots still lingering on her soft skin. The fact alone she'd faced Castor and hadn't done a damn thing would just have to give her probation... but then for her to flirt and kiss a senshi? Oh, her head was definitely on the line for that one, and Nea would have no problem telling her such.

"Tsk tsk, darling. Is it really wise of you to insult the one who holds your fate in her hands?"

Well it's good that she was absolutely wrong on one respect. "I didn't kiss him! He kissed me!" Good one, Lina. Absolutely stellar way to respond. It was so sad, that yet another happy moment in her life was ruined by Nealite. It was just so damn typical!

Really, all Lina could do was sigh and wrap her arms around herself, staring at her shoes. It was only when the comment about fate in Nealite's hands that her curls flew back and her eyes snapped up. "What? You mean you're not going to immediately dash to your beloved and tell him all about my naughty indiscretion? I'd wonder about your heart actually existing, but I know better. You can't really toy with me Nealite, I know you're going to tell him."

b***h. She wasn't stupid, even if she had choked earlier in the week. A soft, vulnerable Nealite was puzzling and offputting. But this was easy to handle. Sass, sarcasm, and derision. It might actually save her a**.

"Mmhm, and it certainly looked like you were struggling to get away, right?"

She watched the girl with fascination, enjoying every little detail. Her stature, her expression, the venom in her voice. Linarite was livid, Linarite was upset, and Nealite was thrilled. How long had it been since their first meeting in this very same park? It was destiny, deja vu all over again, only this time, Nea truly had some delicious dirt to spill on the blue haired lieutenant. This almost seemed too easy, in fact!

"No need to dash off if I'm going to personally take you in, right?" She explained cheerfully, "I mean, I could always wander off and tell him, sure, but then you might run away and that would be terrible."

The ends of her mouth curved down into a feigned pout, shaking her head. "Though...Charonite could then take care of little Lina's Momma and Daddy while she's off running away from the big bad General-King. That might be kind of fun to watch..."

Lina's words did not sink in too terribly deeply, but enough to perk Nea's curiosity. "Heart? You expect us to have hearts in this business? Darling, we're not the ones twirling around in ******** fukus for a living. Perhaps you picked the wrong side to join?"

Eyes wide, one hand flew up to clutch the Thor's Hammer and potion bottle around her neck, and the other flashed out in a wide arc to slap this wicked woman in the face. It stopped however, just an inch away from her face. Nostrils white with anger, Lina stared, and lowered her hand before opening her mouth. The tone was as quiveringly dark and angry as anyone had previously heard the young woman.

"Don't you dare threaten my parents. What do you know about anything, Nealite? Sure you can shake your a** and strut around playing games, but what will that get you in the end? When your precious General-King moves on to some prettier girl, what will you do then? You've got nothing beating in your chest, and you never will. Accuse me of being wrong, if it makes you feel better. Turn me in, save your a**, glorify your name, I don't care. Because even when I'm cold and dead, I will still have lived far more than you ever have!"

Hard amber eyes stared deep into the other woman's soul, exposing exactly what Linarite really had an issue with. It wasn't that the woman was sexy, or assured, or even that she was scandalously clad. It was simply that she was cold and absolutely devoid of any feeling whatsoever. And that was absolutely terrible.

"Who knows. He might actually find that he cares enough to only punish me for awhile. Don't think too highly of yourself, Nealite. Because everyone falls now and then."

She flinched as she saw the hand swing, unprepared for the sudden attack (which was rather dumb of her, she'd admit). One eye opened reluctantly when no contact was made, and soon she was staring at the hand hovering near her face.

Taking a step back to further distance herself from Lina, she listened to the girl's words, her smile having faded from her face. She'd noticed the necklace around Lina's neck, but said nothing. There was nothing to say, not when she was listening to what this little b***h was trying to verbally force on her.

"Don't you dare try to ******** tell me you know what it is to live a life," she snarled, her cheerful mood quickly turning a 180. "Not when you've obviously been raised as some little pretty twit with the happily ever after family. You can't fathom some of the s**t I've been through."

She was on a rampage now, the distance closing in by her own heels. "Ever thought about living on the street, Audrey darling? Ever had to wonder how you're going to make a ******** twenty dollar bill last you two weeks? When your strut and your a** are the only things anyone ******** sees out of you, that you can't make a ******** living for yourself to survive in the goddamn world because the assholes who have jobs only want you for the goddamn space between your legs?"

Her eyes, having gone wild through her ranting, began to calm down as she drew nearer to the other girl, her face inches away from the other. Nealite stared at her, she stared at her long and hard, her fiery eyes burning into Lina's. Her voice was hard, the humor and mocking tone now lost in the coldness. "I would have to be the General-King's girl before he would be able to move on to a prettier one, dear."

After a few more moments of awkward close and personal time, Nea drew backwards, one hand slowly rising to grip on to her hip.

"One reason. Give me one goddamn good reason why I shouldn't bother turning in your a**, Linarite. I'm all ******** ears, sweetheart."

Sob sob sob. How much of that was true? Linarite would be only the part about the value between her legs. Nealite had always rejected and despaired at the idea that she was only worth how much she could jiggle for the General-King. Secretly, Lina had to admit that she was right. Never once had she actually been caught putting out to Charonite. That had to count for something, right?

Not right now it didn't.

Mind scrambling, all Linarite could do was stare down at the all but mangled daisy in her sweaty grip, eyes growing soft at the memory of how nice it felt. How warm and giggly she was when a boy actually cared about her, made it feel like she was finally pretty and clever and wanted. Her parents weren't exactly good at it.

Slumping and raising her eyes to Nealite, she shook her head, defeated. "I just don't know how being loved is wrong. No matter who is doing it. We love the Negaverse, don't we?" Eyes pleaded with Nealite to see the importance of this. "We love gathering seeds, destroying everyone in our way. Why can't we also love those who make us feel good inside? I mean...don't you love Charonite? Can't you understand?" For once, Linarite hoped, pleaded that this was the case.

"Besides. I have to go to the prom with your friend Khal. He might be sad if I didn't show up."

Typical ******** Bambi eyes.

Her own eyes began to roll as one of the first responding words out of Lina's mouth was 'loved'. Was this chick for real? She'd only met Castor, what, twice now? And she was trying to imply she was in love?

Her scowl turned to look at the flower in her hand, the flower that little s**t of a senshi had given to her. Lina was clutching it... did it really hold that much significance to her?

Negaverse smegaverse, Lina was trying to use her job dedication to get out of being ratted on. Nea was determined to stand strong against such silly reasoning... well, at least until the General-King's name was mentioned.

Like magic (******** magic), the name Charonite brought on a rush of thoughts, a rush of feelings that she'd been doing her damnedest to keep suppressed. She was excited beyond description at the fact she'd be having her first date with him... but why? Why should she even care beyond heeding to the call of duty for her General-King? Why go out of her way to make him happy, to try to please him?

Her eyes fell down to the flower once more. How would she feel if he had given such a token to her?

Silence came over Nealite, and it took a few minutes before her cold voice finally growled out, "Does he really mean that much to you?"

Emotions were an amusing, fleeting, horrible thing. You could feel apprehension, confusion, happiness, joy, ridiculousness, horror, fear, hatred, and then finally, bafflement. All in such a short span of time, as the stars simply glossed overhead, a giant audience to the farce of life on Earth. No, wait, add bitter to that list of emotions.

These thoughts actually made Linarite's lip twitch with what might've been a smile, had things not been so painfully dire. Nealite's question switched her thoughts to another tangent. Did she really love him? Was love so easy? Love was certainly important, and she was going to cling to that idea, no matter how cruel she had to be. So...

"Yes. He's the only one who's ever cared. Of course he means quite so much to me." Lightly, her hand rested over where she'd tucked the 'heart' she'd stolen from him. Was it really just a game? Or did that kiss really mean something? God, this was all so horrible and confusing! Lina felt that she could cry, but she wouldn't give Nealite the pleasure of it.

Besides, she cried far too much these days.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 11, 2009 7:13 pm

She stood there, silent, the tension between the two woman heated and dangerous. Nealite remained there for several minutes, her stare never leaving Linarite's face. Those minutes felt like hours, hours of unsettled thinking, of debate, of scheming.

"You're a goddamn idiot, Linarite."

One hand rested itself on her hip as her head tilted itself. Her expression was still grim, but her voice had lost a majority of its hostility. "I don't even have to ******** turn you in to know you're going to get yourself killed. ******** senshi. You're ******** idiots, both of you."

Shaking her head, she stepped forward, one hand outstretching to gently pat the bluenette on the cheek in a mocking fashion. "I hope you know how much I'm risking for this... bullshit, how much I'm giving up just so you can frolic off with Mr. Short-Shorts and get both of your asses handed to you. I expect to be able to call in this favor whenever needed, my darling."

Dropping her hand back to her side, she breezed past the other lieutenant, forcing herself to keep her prideful strut going, despite any faltering she might have shown evidence of in the past several minutes. Pausing as an idea popped into her head, she laughed and turned back for a moment. "Oh, and Lina darling, I nearly forgot! I'll be needing you to try out in the Barren Pines play, as well. I made a role especially for you, when I heard you'd be transferring there."

And with that, she turned back around, her smug grin having returned to her face. One leap up and she was off, disappearing into the shadows of the park's plethora of trees, as if she'd never been there to begin with.

What? What the hell had just happened? Had Nealite just walked off and given her permission to do whatever the hell she wanted in regard to the ever-flirty Sailor Castor? What. The. Hell. Blinking rapidly, Lina simply stared after the other woman as she sauntered away, the final comment hanging between them.

Play? What play? Why the heck was Nealite directing a play at Audrey's new school? Why did that matter at this very moment? So many questions, but the number one question was what had Linarite said to change her mind? Was it love? Why did Nealite care about love?

In the end, all Linarite could do was tuck the flower in her lapel and head towards home. No doubt that some day Nealite would find a reason to call in the favor. Lina only hoped that she would not be called to die for the woman. No boy was worth her death, nor was it worth the end of the Negaverse. Emotions were so damn complicated!
