Username: Revel1984

Soquili name: Namira
Soquili Temper: Forgiving

Personality & Background:
Before the Hunt
0000As a foal Namira was always outgoing and loving. She idolized her older brother and always looked to him as a role model. As she grew older this didn't change, not even when she met a young stallion from another herd. While she loved him, she refused to leave her herd for him and instead left with her herd when they moved on. Time passed and she realized she was in foal, but before she could tell anyone, along came the hunt that separated her and her brother from their family and changed their lives forever.

After the Hunt
0000While she was captured, before her brother and the other mare came to her rescue, she'd fought her captors hard, they had done what they thought best to 'tame' her. As a result she miscarried the foal she was carrying. She lives with the guilt that if she hadn't fought, then her foal would have survived. She is becoming distant from her brother because they have both been hurt terribly but Namira refuses to talk about her pain, she cares greatly for her brother but not even their combined magic can heal the emotional wounds each suffers. She is no longer as outgoing and loving as she once was, afraid to let others get too close. She is however forgiving of other's mistakes as much as she is hard on herself if she should make any. She tries hard but finds herself distanced from those she loves the most.

Soquili name: Beinmir (Glimmering Jewel)
Soquili Temper: Docile

Personality & Background:
Before the hunt
0000Beinmir was a stallion who was gentle and fair with eyes open to any wonder and possibility in the world. He loved his sister Estrellita and treasured his life in the herd. He spent time gazing at the clouds and skies, listening to the birds sing and simply laughing and loving. For this was his world, soft gentle and pure as his shimmering coat and warm magic that was made only to heal and ease the pains of the world. There was nothing else for him but the scent of flowers, the warmth of the sun and the voices of those he loved.
0000The role he played in his herd was that of a teacher. He spent time with all the little foals and taught them various things about life. If anyone showed the potential for magical ability early, he would try to nurture that as well. Sometimes his sister would assist him teaching, just as he helped her gather food.

After the hunt
0000Gone was his naive look on life. Things were cold and had edges to cut. He knew the birds he used to love to watch would die. His herd’s voices only echoed in his mind as screams of pain and fear as the scent of burning hair. He no longer can see the world for just beauty and gentleness; his magic no longer can warm him. His blue eyes now seek out the harshness in reality. He is flighty to any danger; he no longer trusts the word of man. He seeks only company of other Soquili, but even then the loss of his horn burns him with sorrow and shame so he seeks none of his kind but the one who saved him.
0000He lost a lot of his confidence when he lost his horn. He no longer feels capable of doing anything - especially teaching others. He's sad that part of his life is over now, but he wouldn't trust himself to not taint the little ones with his hatred of the humans.

The Vengeful Protector

Username: [X]Natty-Chan[X]

Soquili name: Sheehan (Peacemaker)
Soquili Temper: Vengeful

Personality & Background:
Before the Hunt
0000Sheehan was originally a gentle, helpful mare. It would give her great pleasure to see the faces of others that she would assist and solve problems for. Healing was especially fulfilling for her, having no reservations to do it, even for the smallest of wounds. She didn't have a true herd of her own, but was welcomed among a small unicorn herd every now and then. She was considered family to a few of the members. Neither she nor the herd minded that she wouldn't fully join, it gave her more freedom to roam about and help others. She would be gone for days, but would always return at least once a week.

After the Hunt
0000She began to view humans as vicious beasts that only know how to harm and kill to get what they want. At first, it was sheer untrust, but after other encounters it became total hatred. She became geared on vengeance against humans, bitter and enraged. She lowered herself to kill humans, not caring if they were truly evil or not. She soon had a kalona mentality. Unicorns were the only breed she could trust and any species that would associate with the humans were filth. She is easily angered when she sees any form of violence or injustice, especially against a unicorn. She won't hesitate to react with violence, without bothering to hear the situation first. No matter what others would tell her, she still views humans as monsters and will see anyone who goes against her as enemies.
0000Toward other unicorns, she is a vision of her past self. She's still gentle and helpful, but no longer able to heal. This is true until she is challenged physically or stood against her word. Then she will become aggressive, but she won't attack instantly. Wanting to preserve their species, she will just separate from those who question her than attack them.
0000All in all, though inwardly, she still has a peacemaker personality, it is a twisted view of it.

The Plot Between the Trio

Some plotting might also be more backstory, to make it a bit fuller and complete.

Chaos! (Beinmir & Namira)
After being sheltered for so long, Beinmir and Namira's worlds are about to be turned upside down. Humans have found their herd. They gathered up teams and invaded to both capture and kill for magic. They storm into the herd's territory, surprising the them and causing panic. The brother and sister will try their best to get away, but Namira ends up getting captured to be used as a pretty pet for a royal. Beinmir manages to escape, but not for long...

A Simple Life - Ruined (Sheehan)
One day while wandering the forest looking for any injured wildlife, Sheehan gets way-laid by a group of hunters and their dogs. She ran from them, but the dogs lead her into an ambush where the humans jumped out with ropes and tied her down. There, they proceeded to remove her voice box and tongue, and she passed out from the pain. Thinking she was dead, they left her carcass for the predators. She manages to survive, unaware of the fact that it was due to a truly kind human sewing up her wounds. Her in-again-out-again herd was nowhere to be found when she tried to return to them; she has no idea if they were taken and killed or if they managed to escape. She becomes very bitter - she now uses her horn for death instead of healing.

Trapped! (Sheehan and Beinmir)
While Beinmir is trying to keep up with the bandits that took his sister, his foot gets caught in a trap that was set up by the humans just for cases like this. he manages to run with the trap attached to his leg for a bit, but then he's pelted with arrows. The humans get a hold of him; fight them as he might, they still get the better of his weakened state. They take his horn and are about to take his pelt as well when a strange mare (Sheehan) comes bursting forth to save him with her deadly horn.

To the Rescue (Namira, Sheehan and Beinmir)
After fighting off the humans, Beinmir explains what happened to Sheehan. He asks for her help in rescuing his sister. Always wanting to punish humans for their wrong-doings, Sheehan agrees. (Sheehan manages well without her voice - she indicates what she means with a nod or shake of her head and other gestures.) While they are searching Namira will a semi-self RP where she explains how she's being treated and how she got to where she is now. Bein and Sheehan finally reach their goal and sneak Namira out by the cover of night.

Fleeing the Land (Sheehan, Beinmir and Namira)
A successful rescue was just the first step - the challenges aren't over yet. Seeing their wounds, Namira tries to heal them but can't for some reason. All three of them decide to get somewhere safer together. Both Beinmir and Namira aren't really capable of defending themselves right now and Sheehan feels the need to protect them. This will be about the trials they face as they make their way to Kawani lands.

Safety? (Beinmir, Namira and Sheehan)
When the group gets to the Kawani lands, there starts to be some disagreement among the group. Namira wants to stay put where she knows it is safe - hoping to find a new herd to start their lives over. Sheehan doesn't really want to be in a herd anymore - she became more of a wanderer. Beinmir is torn between staying with his sister or following his rescuer. In the end he decides to search for more justice with Sheehan. Namira isn't happy about parting with her brother, but she knows there are things he needs to do before he can be whole again.

Vague Plottings for the Future

Namira: She'll either find a herd to be a part of, or a couple of nice Soquili to show her the Kawani lands. She won't be too forthcoming about her past at first, but if she ends up getting really close to anyone the truth will come out. She also hopes to meet with her brother again some day, and that he manages to come back to his former self again. She will find the strength within herself to try and teach everyone that there is good in the world, and that they should believe in it. Maybe she can have a plot with a Kalona that's on the fence and teach them to be a kinder spirit.

Beinmir: He follows Sheehan for awhile, but does decide to at one point visit his sister. Which one he decides to stay with is yet to be determined. He might find Sheehan too agressive and come to the realization that not all humans are bad, or he might become even more vengeful from being with her. Maybe romance?

Sheehan: She wanders from place to place - sometimes finding friends, and other times delivering justice. Misunderstandings with other Soquili are bound to happen due to her prejudice against non-unicorns. She hopes that one day she'll possibly run into someone from her old semi-herd. Always when she's wandering thinking about them and where they could be now.

@Revel1984: You need to actually write the personality, name, and history of captured yourself -- while you are allowed to switch places, you cannot claim her work. So you need to fix before contest close or else you'll end up disqualifying your team.

Soquili name: Candra Stormcry
(Candra: "glowing like the moon")
Soquili Temper: Enduring

Personality: It can be summed up in her second name of Stormcry. She will stand in the face of the howling storm, proud in her steadfast defiance. Even trapped most of her life she never gave up faith that there is good in the world and that her quiet fight will be rewarded. She does find it very difficult to trust individuals, tending to err on the side of caution with her new companions and their situation. If they choose to think her weak for remaining quietly captive she'll allow them to think so, for now.

Background: In the chaos of her herd dividing into factions the young mare Candra got separated from her family. She wandered close to the estate of a noble human family and was further drawn in by the scent of roses in the formal gardens. Barely out of foalhood she was an easy capture for the young men of the household. She was chained in a small garden walled with thick hedges where she has remained isolated from all but the few small animals and birds that count on the water in the garden pond that Candra keeps pure.
A few younger memebers of the household visited the unicorn and she rewarded their innocent and gentle attentions by healing the scrapes, bumps and bruises of childhood. When asked by a raven why she bothered with the children of her captors she replied, "Would you prefer I ignored them and lost my touch with healing, or that I practice on the humans so when your young are injured I can safely heal them?"

Soquili name: Felicis / Malvolio
Soquili Temper: Split-Personality

Personality:
Felicis has split-personality disorder which was developed and revealed through his damaging past. Felicis is this stallion's main personality and it is his birth name. Felicis is the submissive one of the two personalities, but would have been his singular personality had he not developed this disorder. Felicis is kind and gentle and often swings to the emotions of a foal. He is the one that is frightened, but also the one that mainly exhibits kind emotions such as love and tenderness. Felicis is a bit naive.

Malvolio: The dark side of this stallion which was brought out due to an unfortunate past, and the devastation of having a power that is envied. The stallion does not realize that he is two personalities in one person and thus Malvolio believes he is protecting Felicis. Malvolio is a fighter and, though not evil, is the one that seeks revenge. He is very protective of Felicis.

Background:
Felicis was born to his two unicorn parents that had managed to get themselves into a predicament. His parents were in a strict herd which forbade the lack of lifemating before foals were born. The pair was free-spirited and strong willed and ignored the rule opting first to have children. And so Felicis was born along with a brother named Nox. The herd leaders greatly disapproved and all four were unceremoniously thrust out of the herd. Now, Felicis' father had made a deal with a kalona for protection and the like for his family so that they may travel safely to his lover's birth herd. Sadly, the herd that they were in had hired the same kalona as a hit man and actually arranged him to be their escort as well. The reasons of the leaders were never revealed to Felicis. The kalona thus turned against them and in a nasty fight only Felicis and his mother got away. Felicis was greatly pained that his brother was taken from him, but he did not have the chance to discover if the other colt was truly dead for he and his mother had to run. The pair remained because the kalona was not one to leave business unfinished. In a sneak attack the kalona slaughtered Felicis' mother as the foal watched from behind a tree. The kalona did not find the boy worth a search and went on his way.

So outside of images that haunted Felicis he lived in a relative until he was hunted again. Human hunters surprised in an ambush, luckily only one hit. They were poachers and were searching for unicorn horn and blood. Felicis managed to hide from the gang for almost a week when he stepped into a metal trap hidden on the earth's floor. With his ankle badly injured another archer easily took a shot on the stallion. Another fortnight he was able to evade the dastardly men and reached the home of a medicine man who through his helper soquili promised to take care of him. The soquili was a male around Felicis's age and half unicorn. His name was Malvolio, meaning ill-fated or ill-willed, due to his parents disapproval of his lacking of a horn. His father had felt disgraced as both he and his mate were of pureblood so how could his son not have a horn, he believed that his mate had been with another which she fervently denied though it was true. Despite his name and circumstances Malvolio was kind and gentle and sympathetic to Felicis. Due to Malvolio's lack in healing powers Felicis would have to have his wounds tended to by the human who was skilled but not magical. In fact the man had requested of his cousin to bring his unicorn for a visit so that Felicis could be healed magically as the wounds were deep and loss of blood would be great. In ill-fate of Felicis's own only one arrow was removed and his wounds were never healed as those hunting him arrived on the medicine man's doorstep soon after Felicis arrived. In a deathly brawl Felicis again was the lone survivor on his side. The man hadn't moved and was killed on the spot, Malvolio wouldn't allow the hunters to reach Felicis and eventually took a spear to the heart and he too passed on. Felicis ran off remembering Malvolio's words to keep himself safe, but the stallion did not run off without any battle scars and another arrow shot into his skin.

Throughout this time, since his brother that was near and dear to him and his mother and father snatched away was causing destruction to the stallion's mental health. The last strand was cut when he lost the friendship he was forming with Malvolio. Through all of these events an alternate personality was formed. One that was stronger than poor young Felicis. One that went by the name of Malvolio which lived up to the true meaning of the name in poor reflection to the previous owner. Felicis was chased by the hunters to a garden where he fearfully plowed through the plant wall. It wasn't until here that Malvolio came through to wreak damage upon the hunters with the assistance of the protective mare. In this fight Felicis, in the moment that he briefly reappeared, freed the other mare, the one that was chained. Here also is where the most devastating of all his injuries occurs, a hunter had dangerously taken an ax to his horn and haphazardly cut the top off. To this day he doesn't know if the stump remaining contains any power for he has been too afraid to try.

Personality: Vivian is a fighter she savors every chance she gets to fight. Having a once royal background even though now tainted makes her even more a fighter. She will never trust a soul and often interrogates those she meets as to find out there mission and cause. She never lets her guard down because of what happened to her on that fateful day. She is not overly evil but at the same time not overly good she rests in the middle doing what she must to survive even if it means getting a fellow friend out of the way...

Background: Being of royal blood her family was targeted when she was at a very young age. Having watched them burn down her home and slay her parents made her grieve day and night. She made it out alive and that was a miracle but it was short lived. Being the royal princess there was an award out for her head and being young as she was she knew not of survival. However while observing the hunters from afar she saw a prison who she remember seeing before but not from where. It was another uni but she was chained and shackled her beauty fading with every passing day. What even more shocked her was the stallion whom looked dead with arrows riddled all over his body. She was shocked from this desperately wanting to remember the other mare.

As the days grew colder and winter approached she never once forgot about the other unis that she saw. One day though she let her guard down for only a moment and they came..The hunters flanked her from all sides grinning and smiling holding weapons to her face. She tried to kick and lash out but only ended up farther out in a trap. One of them got close enough for her to impale her with her horn making him scream out in pain. Her horn now dripping with blood and still no way out she lashed out even more only to fall over. One hunter came up to her face and drew a knife grinning as he cut her mouth up into a grimace blood dripping down her face staining her hooves and fetlocks. The princess of the royal family was reduced to a shuddering mass as the hunters subsided thinking her dead leaving her for the vultures.

To this day she will never forgive she will always seek to punish those who ruined the life she once could of had. She swore to herself to kill them and avenge her family and the once royal bloodline. None would ever guess she was Vivian Vladiar the little foal who held dreams of her people to meet a prince and one day become queen.

The Plot Between the Trio

The hunt for the stallion crashes into Candra's garden prison. The hunt with the injured stallion the intended victim has turned chaotic as Candra's chain is broken by the stallion and the human hunters become the hunted once the third unicorn, by extreme luck, enters the scene to assist the stallion. Together they all get out of there and decide to stick together and head toward lands where they've heard they'll be safe.

Because of their pasts the trio has no reason to trust each other remaining together simply because they are something familiar in a strange land. There is a strange sense of recognition between the mares. It teases at old memories but does not quite click together at first. The fact is they were born to the same herd which was divided into factions on how to deal with the growing danger of human hunters. It is the chaos of this conflict that separates Candra from the herd and leads to her capture. The other mare's family was on the opposite more volatile side from Candra's family so in a way they were the cause of her imprisonment. This realization could bring an end to their fragile partnership.

Soquili name: I'tidal (meaning temperance; Arabic)
Soquili Temper: Mediating

Personality: Growing up among the horses she did, I'tidal developed a very gentle, caring personality. Much of it spawned from her training as a healer. She sees all life as precious and important, something to be protected. Part of her protecting is keeping things in balance. As a foal, whenever she was given free time to play with the other children, she hardly ever took sides in their games and instead chose to be a referee of sorts. The desire to mediate grew with her into adulthood. A patient and traditional soul, I'tidal is generally easy to get along with.

However, her patience does come with limits. I'tidal does not tend to get along well with those who harm or take nature too lightly. There are also times when, despite her young age, she has little regard for those who don't take her and her advice seriously. Being the youngest head healer in her herds’ history means she has to staunchly defend her ideas at times so as to be considered on equal footing.

Background: Born to a herd with a focus on the mystic arts, I'tidal was brought up in an atmosphere of tranquility and understanding. The daughter of a member of the herd's main council, her potential was spotted early on by many influential Soquili. In order to nurture her gift, she was apprenticed to the head healer of the time, an elderly, but wise mare who shared more than a fair share of life lessons with the ready and willing filly.

It was around her coming of age into adulthood that stirrings between her herd and the other two nearby unicorn herds began. I'tidal had taken her place among the ranks of the healers while she hardly had a hand in the day to day politics; she took an interest in the rumors and went to her mother to seek details on the situation. However, as one of the ruling council with an obligation to keep affairs on track, she told her daughter that she wouldn't be able to discuss it until the plans were further along. Not to be discouraged, I'tidal instead took her questions to her previous mentor, the elder healer.

In the end, even the head healer wasn't privy to the complete details, but she told I'tidal that the stirrings of peace and unity were on the wind the likes of which she never expected to see in her lifetime. Unfortunately, as time passed, it became clear that the elder healer would not live to see these great changes after all. She died and after a debate among the members, I'tidal ascended to her position, becoming the youngest head healer in the history of the herd. When the details of the 'peace and unity' finally became known, a unity between Shamira Zahir and Thales, members of the two other herds, with her herd as mediator of the ceremony, I'tidal was selected to lead in the celebrations. With her herd's rich history in magic and prayer, they were well suited for their place in the uniting of the groups.

The ceremonies never took place, however, as Shamira disappeared without a word. And so, two years passed, but not without event. A nearby herd of kalonas began to infiltrate the land, followed closely by humans seeking council with the gods through the legends of the unicorns. At some point, the ties that I'tidal's herd still held hopefully with the other two herds were cut off. Communication ceased without warning and, fearing the worst of the other herds, she decided to set out and seek to reconnect the lines of information herself. The leaders would not allow her to go alone, though, as she held a place of great importance among them. She set off with a band of nine to reach Shamira's homelands.

Along the way, they were surrounded by kalonas and, playing along with the humans for their own entertainment and gain, they attacked the small band, badly injuring many of them. Only one young horse was able to escape and bring word back to the others. The rest, along with I'tidal, were taken and locked in irons by the humans.

Username: Lonewolf_Eyes

Soquili name: Thales
Meaning- (Greek) Blossom
Soquili Temper: Gentle hearted

Personality: Thales was raised in a herd of gardeners, being kind and gentle hearted ran in his blood. He would help anyone who needed it, whether it was watching children, a friend to be there, or healing the wounded.
Atleast that was how he used to be. Ever since the days of torture, he hid away from the world, ashamed of the lack of horn he used to carry proudly on his brow. Now that it was taken from him, Thales lived in fear of humans and in shame. Since his escape, he hides away tending to his small garden. He has since become quiet, inward but his rich blue eye that peeks out from beneath his tattered mane shows that his gentle heart still pulses.

Background: Thales grew up in the most loving environment. Some could say it made him soft. And when he heard that he would be paired with a lovely mare from the neighboring herd, it made him the happiest stallion in the world. And then she ran. Having the fact he was 'soft' thrown in his face, depressed him. He started being alone in his garden more. His favorite thing to do was making holders from bark with his teeth, and then hanging them from trees. The work made him tired easy, but there was one advantage, it made his neck stronger.

One day, he convinced himself to go check with her herd. Wondering if she had maybe returned. But of course, she had not. While there, he heard a request from the herd that was to join them. They had been captured and needed rescuing.

What a perfect chance to show how strong he had gotten.

But he failed. Even after meeting Shamira in the woods, he was not able to win her love again.

While escaping, he was hit with multiple arrows. Even stepping in a trap. But that was nothing compared to what he sacrificed trying to rescue another soquili. While being chased by a kalona, the kalona had stumbled across a hidden entrance to a cave and suddenly dropped through the roof. Its wings torn by branches as it tried to spread them, it was helpless. Trying to cling to the edge with its front hooves. Thales had no option but to try to help the Kalona. But when he rushed over and bent his head to grab onto the other soq, the kalona refused. Saying he would never take help from a weakling unicorn. Before dropping the 20 foot drop to the floor bottom, he grabed Thale's horn in his mouth and released from the edge. The wait of the kalona and the sudden pressure broke Thales' horn clean off. He had tried to use it for help, so it did not kill him, like it would if it had been taken completely forcibly. But Thales could barely stand now. A unicorn from the team found him, blood dripping into his blue eyes. They had to help the limping soquili to the hide out. Even after being healed, they could not heal his horn.

He felt so emasculated. He could see the angry tears in Mira's eyes, and was convinced she would never love the beastly looking reject he had become.

When they all returned home, nothing could console him. He spent all his time in his garden until two weeks later, Mira finally came to visit him. She told him of how brave she thought he had been. and asked for his hoof in unity. But he could not accept, not yet. How could she love the defunct unicorn he had become?

Will Mira ever convince him he is the right stallion for him? How will she do it? Read on to find the answer to at least one question.

The Vengeful Protector

Username:

Soquili name: Shamira Zahir
Meaning: Shamira- (Hebrew) Guardian, protector. Zahir- (Arabic) Helper, defender.
Soquili Temper: Protective

Personality: Mira is a born and raised protector. She will do anything to protect someone. As long as she deems them worth protecting. She also doesn’t care about beauty. She only cares about the personality of a being. And your personality is what she judges to be worthy of protecting. When she is not on a mission to rescue someone, she is lazing about with her herd. She enjoys the young of her herd trying to make her laugh. She has become very good at keeping a solemn face, so it has become their mission to try to make her laugh. She has more control than that, but it warms her heart to hear their stories.

Background: Mira is one of the best protectors of her herd. Her herd is not very good at healing, so they learned how to debate. They figured if they knew that, they could convince anyone to see their ways and not fight them. But they were also brought up with fighting and defensive skills.

Soon, her herd had the idea to make peace with the surrounding herds. They offered their dear Shamira to join in union with the Thales’ herd, a herd known for their foraging and gardening skills. With the sermon lead by I'tidal.

But Shamira did not wish to be united with him for the rest of her life. So she ran away. She has been taking odd rescuing jobs for two years now. She refused to unite with someone as weak as him.

Possible Plots-
1. After running away, she travels and meets skah *owned by DarkmoonDancer*. She is caught up with the adventure of running away and befriends him, quickly leading to going to bed with him. Soon after, she finds out he is a killer, and refuses to be around him. She runs again, vowing to start her life up as a protector again.
Moral: Teach her not to trust everyone who seems nice. That just because they seem nice, it might not be their true personality. Not to judge someone too quickly, and to recount her past of whom she might have rejected to protect, and maybe she was wrong.
2. She has made her vow to become a protector while she is away, and now she must prove to herself that she can do it. She takes a job to rescue someone. Or something, and fails.
Moral: Shows her that she should not be too foolhardy and think she can do anything. Though she does not fully grasp this till after rescuing the captured unicorns from the humans.
4. She has to convince Thales that he is still the stallion he once was, even without his horn. Because she has her ripped mouth he sees her sacrifice and braveness and she helps him see that about his horn too. He helped her to realize she should'nt just protect the ones she thinks deserve it most. She want's him to see that there is more to him then just his outside.
Moral: Being able to cheer someone up that she cares about.
3. She, Thales, and I’tidal start a herd with her offspring. She must now tell Thales the truth about her children. Hoping that he will not be too freaked out that they are children of a murderer. She must also keep it a secret from her children who their father is. She refuses to tell them the truth, less they decide to take on his ways.
Moral: Learning to trust her new partner. That he will love her even though she has made mistakes.

Loss of Hope?...
Dragon on the way *mine is Miri*

The Plot Between the Trio

What happened after the herds weren’t united:
With the loss of Shamira, her herd became withdrawn from the others. They felt her loss was a betrayal, and could not face the others. Soon, kalona's started to infiltrate I’tidal’s herd.

At first, the kalona's only just waited at the outskirts of the herd’s territory. But soon they were getting impatient and started picking on lone unicorns.

It was around this time a tribe of humans journeyed to their land. These humans believed unicorns were the horses of gods. And though they believed full heartedly, their beliefs still did harm. They were able to capture nine of the seventeen members of I’tidal’s herd. They believed that somehow, maybe they could communicate with the gods through the unicorns. And they needed them alive and confined for their experiments.

The Kalona's took this as their chance to do more harm. They pretended to be docile around the humans. The humans took them into their tribe as steeds and guards for the captured unicorns. Being so close to the unicorns, the kalona's could now tease and bully the unicorns while being pampered by the humans.

The remaining eight of I’tidal’s herd ventured to Shamira’s herd, pleading that they help rescue their brethren. But her herd was scared of the humans, and refused. Luckily for them, Thales had been there to try and smooth things with them. He had overheard their request and accepted it.
With his quest accepted, Thales tried to rescue the nine that had been captured. Their freedom wasn’t his only motive though. He was determined to be the kind of stallion Shamira could depend on. Or at least want.

Sneaking into the camp was the easy part. The humans had all gone to sleep. Their bellies full with food, their toes warmed by fire. He was about to rush to the fenced off are when a Kalon'a creeped up from behind him. It wasn’t easy running away, but he finally lost them in the forest.

It was then he found Shamira, deep in the forest. It seemed she was coming home. Hoping everyone had forgotten about the pairing. Thales told her of the situation. She knew many of the captured, and knew of their kind personalities. Of course, she agreed to help. But now was no time to go rushing in. So Thales agreed to look for food and they would rest till the next night.

But the kalona's found Shamira. They demanded she tell them where Thales was. Saying that if she didn’t say, they would rip her open with their horns. Mira only sneered and used one of the kalona's horns to rip her own mouth. Declaring this was as wide they would ever get her mouth to part, and for no other reason would she widen them.

Frustrated, the kalona's gave up the search for Thales and took Mira back to the camp site and threw her in with the rest of the captured. But not before a healing woman could poorly stitch up her wound. The unicorns were forbidden to do any healing while enclosed in the pen.

Thales was horrified. He had not meant to get Mira captured. He had wanted to prove how brave he had become. He decided the only thing to do now was to rescue all of them. No one else could do it, only he was brave enough.

Meanwhile, back at the camp, Shamira was able to raise everyone’s spirits. They saw the gash on her mouth and neck and the braveness of that act seemed to transfer to everyone. Soon, they were able to raise their spirits enough to escape. While everyone was being fed except for two lone kalona's, they made their dash. They were able to over power the kalona's and rush into the forest.

Almost running over Thales in the process. He had planned his rescue for the exact time, and was caught up in the daring escape. The humans seemed to recognize him, and aimed solely for him. Wounding him with arrows and even having him stumble into a bear trap. But still he went on with the others. Luckily, they were in the forest by the time he had stumbled into the trap and was only able not to get caught because the Kalona's couldn't easily find them in the forest.

The eleven of them soon felt safe enough to rest in a cave. I’tidal was the only one among them skilled enough to heal the deep wounds they had accumulated. With angry, stressful tears in her eyes, Mira refused to get healed before Thales was. Even those with no healing ability could see he was dying. The fool, he should have never come back. Luckily, I’tidal was able to save him. She suggested healing the gash on Mira’s head and neck, but Mira declined. She knew she had been foolish. Her foolishness might have even started when she ran away from a stallion she thought was weak. Only to learn now that she had been the weak one.

The scar she now had was proof of this, and would always remind her. She united with him, and their herds combined to create a perfect herd, one might call it. I’tidal trained a new healer, and was soon replaced as the herd’s main healer. They had decided that they would start their own small herd. Shamira, Thales, and I’tidal. They all had amazing skills at what they specialized in. And thought it only right to travel to other unicorn herds and teach them their skills. So that no other unicorn herd can ever be taken advantage of again. So the three, and two young foals that looked oddly like Shamira, started off on their journey.

Soquili name: Thea (healing, also a favorite old B/C shop)
Soquili Temper: Faithful

Personality: 'The Selfless Martyr'
Thea is a very loving and caring unicorn. She has learned through her life that suffering exists and that it is rare to not suffer. She sees this as something to connect herself to others, everyone experiences pain. Even though she has suffered harm at the hands of humans, she believes that there is good in them, although some may have lost their way. Thea is also resilient and feels she can be the light in the dark for others. She is quite empathetic and if she pays close enough attention, usually can accurately read others emotions. This unicorn is quiet and good listener. She would rather hear others speak than talk herself. She is always honest and will always show kindness and loyalty to those who are and were kind to her. Thea will often put others before herself. She also prefers the company of others, because when she is alone is when she feels her pain the most.
Thea can also be hard on herself taking the blame for the outcomes of situations that may have been nothing but chance. Her past haunts her. She believes if she would have never approached the little girl many lives and hardship could have been saved. She worries that her mother may have died because she failed to get her the herb. She thinks that her presence prompted the villagers to cut off Ulysses horn, and she believes if she could take that one day back the girl’s village could have been spared. She minimizes others roles in these consequences. She is full of guilt and thinks it her duty to right these wrongs if she can somehow. She often feels sorrow in her heart and can be despondent at times.
Thea's healing gift seems quite strong in her, and she has the dual gift of being good with physical and emotional healing. Her tendency to listen helps her find what others suffer from. This makes it is easy for her to soothe their pain away. She however struggles with her own emotional healing. Due to the ball and chain Thea cannot reach the full speed but is slowed down quite a bit, she can still run however just not very fast and she tires quickly.

Background: 'It Begins...'
The mare started her life in the care of just her mother. She never learned what happened to her father though she does know he was also a pure unicorn and that she comes from a long line of unicorns. Thea and her mother lived alone together and often stayed away from other Soquili, though occasionally they would spend a day or two visiting with other unicorn. Thea had never seen a human but had been told that such creatures existed, but not much else about them.
When Thea was still a foal her mother was wounded and she was still too young to heal her. Her mother was unable to move and the wound too big for her own powers alone to heal. She sent the Thea to get a healing flower from a meadow just on the edge of the forest they called their home. Thea was scared, but she went anyway, knowing that her mother needed her to do this task. Grudgingly she left her mother, and after what seemed like hours, she found the meadow where the flowers grew. In the blossoms she saw a young female child alone, curiously the foal approached the girl, thinking that there could be no harm in one so innocent and wanting to know more about their kind.
The young girl reached out and touched the unicorn, her hand steady as she petted her gently. The girl’s eyes met with the young unicorns and there seemed to be a moment of bonding. It was then that a net was thrown over Thea as a young man sprung from hiding, and grinned with evil delight at the capture of such a creature. The foal was dragged away to a village miles away from where her mother lay waiting her return. She was to grow up with and be the pet of the family of the girl who had looked in her eyes.
The father always treated the captured unicorn with cruelty, whipping her or starving her at random. As the years passed and Thea grew older, he felt that fear would not be enough to keep the unicorn in line and wanted to make sure she would never be able to escape. The old man then had chains fashioned to keep the mare in place: a collar to chain her soundly to a post near their teepee and a ball attached to another chain that fastened around her leg. The iron shackles were so very tight, and bit into her skin as she moved. With these new fetters the mare lost all hope of ever seeing her mother again and escaping the cruelty of this evil man.
The mare grew sorrowful and often refused to eat, move, or greet the now young women who use to bring her the only joy in her life.

The Hunted

Username: Merci`

Soquili name: Ulysses
Soquili Temper: Shy

Personality: 'The Taciturn Fellow'
This stallion is quiet, and rather shy. He doesn't speak unless he has a good reason, and tends to shy away from others. When he does engage in some form of conversation with another, he is kind and is quite eloquently spoken. Behind those blazing blue eyes, he’s a passionate soul. He finds all sorts of discourse pleasurable, but any questions about his horn or his past are met with stony eyed silence.
He is deeply embarrassed about the loss of his horn, and is terrified of being laughed at or pitied by others. Ulysses in his core is still a proud unicorn, and he doesn’t want to be viewed as a victim. With his past injuries he walks with a limp, his front leg having sustained obvious injury. With him being prideful, and ashamed of his weakness, he finds he’s most comfortable keeping other Soquili at a distance. This unicorn is not afraid of humans, but he does feel violent hatred for them. He doesn’t actively seek them out to harm them, and avoids being around them at all costs.

Background: ’To be Prey…’
Ulysses had a wonderful life when he was a foal. He lived with his mother and father for the first many years of his life. When he was still very young his mother and father told him of the two legged things called humans, and warned him of the danger they posed. The small unicorn was taught to avoid all human settlements, and to look for the signs that would tell him that they were near. It wasn’t as if the humans were particularly stealthy. The smells of a camp fire or the songs and shouts of their younglings would often give them away and allow the small family of unicorns to hide.

When he was still an adolescent, he was separated from his parents. They left him to scout around the area when they came across a place in the forest that looked like it had been used for camping. It had been a terrible day for him, and he waited for them to return for a long time. When more than a week had passed, he realized he was on his own. It was a lesson he learned quickly, and took to heart. He became suspicious, and overly cautious. Ulysses did not want what happened to his parents to happen to him. After all, what could have happened to them if the two legged monsters hadn’t found them?
He took it upon himself to look after the other creatures in the forests he roamed. Using the healing gift that was innate to his kind, the stallion often healed the wounds caused by the hunters’ traps and poorly aimed arrows. He found that when he extended kindness to others, he felt less alone in the world.
Little did he know that nearby things were brewing, and his life would be shattered forever. His penchant for avoiding humans came do an abrupt end when he heard the braying of dogs. They were sometimes used by humans while hunting smaller creatures, so he knew to avoid them. Ulysses turned, and he ran to escape. His hooves beat against the ground in a steady rhythm, but the dogs never seemed to get further away. It dawned on him suddenly, that they had to be chasing him! He panicked, and turned his head to look backwards when it happened. The first whistle barely registered in his mind when he was suddenly struck in the side. The stallion felt hot blood seep from the wound immediately, and he couldn't help the cry of pain. Behind him shouts of success urged his hunters onward. Ulysses had no time to take care of himself, arrows flew around him and he was pierced again. He'd lost all presence of mind, the unicorn thundered through underbrush and branches. Terror was causing his eyes to roll back, and then it happened. SNAP! Excruciating pain shot up from his right foreleg, and Ulysses finally fell, hitting the ground and sliding with the momentum of his run.
Everything was so hazy to him. The pain overwhelming his senses and shadowing his vision in a haze. He could see things around him moving, and he could sense that there was danger. The unicorn couldn't seem to make his body move, instead he lay on his side, blood trickling from his lips. The last thing he remembered before darkness overtook his senses, was the laughter as they broke his horn from him.

The Vengeful Protector

Username: [.Silvr-Moon.]

Soquili name: Utsukushī Kizuato (Should mean “beautiful scar” in Japanese~)
` ` ` `Her nicknames would be Utsu or Kizu, most likely.
Soquili Temper: Defensive

Personality: 'The Cold Defender'
After seeing and being what she had been as a foal, Kizu has a strong bias towards anyone who isn’t a Unicorn. That doesn’t stop her protective side from assisting non-unicorns when they’re in need. Regardless of whether she is helping another soquili or not, she has a cold, nonchalant attitude that she will give them, no matter what the other creature is. She will rarely show her true feelings to others, with words at least. Her eyes are usually better at reflecting emotions that she will not speak, such as gratefulness, love, admiration, satisfaction. In a way, you can almost compare this part of her personality to Lightning in Final Fantasy 13, except she is a bit less open and pays a bit less attention to those she travels with.

Background: 'Terror in the Night...'
Kizu wasn’t always the tough, soldier-like unicorn she is today. As a foal she had a simpler, softer heart. It was a series of events that caused something inside her to snap, and she was never the same again. It started when Kizu was a meek, defenseless foal, constantly picked on by the other younglings in her herd, as well as her older sister. She would be poked by their growing horns, harassed, and verbally teased with simple taunts, such as “why are your eyes so red?” or “Ha! Your tail is still so short, and barely has its fur tuft yet!” Yet these things would hurt her feeling terribly, she only wanted to fit in with her brethren. She was always the outcast, alone, and would usually be teased by a group of foals all at once. Even then, all she would ever do was cower and try to retort with feeble retorts in order to save herself from their inept torments. ”Heh, You’ll never be strong enough, Kizu. How can you defend your friends if you can’t even save yourself?” That remark with a sinister smile was the image of her sister that burned into her mind. After all, her sister was supposed to support her. Instead, the only support she was given were those harsh words, day after day, after day.

Things had only gotten worse for the meek, late-developing foal. An event took place in the void of midnight one night, right while the herd was sleeping. They lived in an area which was like a paradise, free of predators and humans, which was why the herd was never afraid to all sleep at the same time. On a whim, Kizu woke up mid-dream, still feeling restless. She was so sleepy that her eyesight was still a bit blurry, but through the shadows of the trees she could see something magical. A few crimson balls of energy floated in and out of the trees, dancing playfully around and shed their light against the darkness of the tree cover. It was unlike anything she had ever seen before, and it fascinated her! Suddenly, among the crimson and orange, a silvery glint flickered for only a moment by a captured ray of moonlight. It held itself steady, unlike the erratic movements of the crimson orbs. Baffled, she stared into the abyss of the forest, simply trying to figure out what could cause such an abnormality. Within seconds, a whistle pierced through the silent air, ending with a sudden and excruciatingly heavy thud. A roar tore itself from one of the stallions, though it became muffled and gargled as he tried to scream in pain. Many of the herd members surged to their feet in confusion and panic, more and more whistles pierced the cacophony of startled cries. In a state of chaos, mares and stallions alike stampeded in every possible direction, nearly kicking Kizu as they ran by. Bodies began to become pierced with thin sticks, many of her brethren collapsed onto their sides. Then, from the trees, creatures that stood on only two legs ran forward, a majority of them clung onto something that shined beautifully in the moonlight. Right in front of her, these beasts surrounded those who had fallen, slicing into the horns of those who could not get back up. In a state of terror, unlike any she had never experienced before in her life, Kizu scrambled up onto her hooves to run anywhere she could as swiftly as possible. She was terrified, and didn’t know what else to do. She ran past many adults who she had looked up to with great respect. They were the ones who had always seemed to be invincible, now they were lying on the ground with blood trickling sweetly down their sides. She ran past her mother, her sister, and the other foals that had constantly tormented her with their jeers. In utter shock, Kizu paused only for a moment or two to gaze wide-eyed down upon the small bodies, a few still barely breathed. Her own sister’s sides heaved heavily still, her body trembled yet her eyes no longer seemed to see, she merely stared blankly ahead. Spontaneously, Kizu felt a stinging sensation graze the left side of her face, the pain shot straight back and down a part of her neck. The youngling looked directly upwards, and she saw the bow of one of the beasts staring directly down at her. Panic set in and without thinking she immediately began to run away once more. She just couldn’t believe the massacre and the violence that had unfolded itself before her! She ran, and ran some more, never stopping until the screams of the ones she left behind were no longer heard.
She had wandered all by her lonesome for several weeks after that before she ran into another Soquili of any kind. The one she came across was some sort of Kalona and Kirin half-breed; she didn’t know that at the time, for the only Soquili she had ever seen were Unicorn. The half-breed could see right through the young foal, and took her in temporarily to mentor her. She found out that Kizu had been attacked by humans, and tried to fuel her experience with hate and wrath against their kind. With strict teachings and temperament, she molded Kizu’s soft heart into a frosted, dour one. The older mare taught her to be true to herself, yet defensive of others. As she trained the growing foal, she took Kizu on raids to attack humans who camped in the forests around them, taking trinkets and human parts as trophies for defending their woodlands and territory from the fiends. Kizu lightly decorated herself with some of the iron items that they had liberated, including parts of their skulls to show her newfound ranking and skill. Her hooves and horn became seemingly permanently coated with blood, their battles becoming more and more a regular routine for the pair. Yet, once she had learned enough, the older mare just disappeared, leaving an adult Kizu all alone once more. The unicorn did not want to get close to others, for fear that she would either lose them to humans or out fear that she would be abandoned once again. With her newfound inner and outer strength, however, Kizu was no longer afraid to stand up for herself or for others as she saw fit. She would be forever biased against those who were not Kirin or Unicorn, for they could never possibly relate to her. Plus they had never done a thing to help her or her kind in their most desperate times of need. Even for those without a horn, if they were being harassed or in some kind of mortal danger, Kizu would never let her bias get the best of her. Fear was something she understood very well, and she did not want another creature to suffer such terror. The unicorn would also forever travel the familiar lands, she felt defensive of her home, and wanted to keep the area untouched by humans for as long as she lived.
It was only a matter of time before she walked upon her next rescue, a poor stallion pierced by arrows and a shattered horn…

The Captured

Username: LOLTERNATIVE

Soquili name: Evania Elwyn
Soquili Temper: Shattered

Personality:

Before she was captured...
She was caring, always looking out for her brother and her older 'sister', though they were the ones who were always protecting her. She always had a smile and the air was filled with her laughter and the laughter she brought others. She was always trying to help others who were in need, despite protests. Stubborn and courageous, she often butted heads with her siblings when they would not let her explore on her own. She longed for adventure and freedom, despite the fact that she loved her siblings.

After she was captured and rescued...
Everything she was before was ripped from inside her. She was always scared, jumping at the smallest sound - even her own shadow. She didn't trust strangers she met, even if they showed her kindness. She was always scared of being captured again. She became dependent on her siblings, always asking for them to make decisions for her, never speaking her own mind. She made the decision to wander off and it got her captured. She would never make her own decisions again. She was afraid of the dark and never slept at night. It wasn't the darkness that scared her, it was the fear of not seeing. When she was captured, a bag was placed over her head and she was tormented in darkness.

Because of this, she became very child-like. Soft spoken, skittish, always hiding behind her siblings where it was safe.

Background:
Evania grew up with her brother Yves. She's the youngest of the two and is always seen as the weakest. They met up with Primara and they grew close, Primara becoming an older sister to them, always watching over them, always protecting them.

Evania was very close to her siblings and they all lived happily, moving around, each taking on a roll when they set up camp. Evania's was always to sit and look pretty, much to her protests and dismay. It frustrated her that her siblings thought she was weak, simply because of her age and her kind hearted nature.

One day, while Primara was setting up traps around the perimeter of the campsite and Yves was tracking humans, Evania heard a foal in distress. Despite the fact that she was told to stay at the camp site, her whole being compelled her to help the distressed foal.

When she found the foal it was being forced into a bag by two two-leggers. Evania attacked them and the foal fled. She, however, was captured in the process. The two-leggers placed a bag over her head to stop her from seeing. A collar was placed around her neck that stopped her from screaming. A shackle was placed around her ankle so she could not move.

They tormented her with stories of previous unicorns they had hunted and stories of what they were going to do to her siblings. They poked and prodded her, taunted and laughed at her. All the while she was alone, praying to anyone who would listen that she would be free from them, even if it meant her death.

When she was finally rescued, Evania spent hours crying, even when no tears fell. She was huddled in a ball, her body shaking with fear of a danger that she always felt watching her. Always chasing her.

The Hunted

Soquili name: Yves Elwyn
(Yves: yew, a tree which bows are made from
Elwyn: White, fair, holy)

Soquili Temper: Driven

Personality:

Capable of strategic efficacy in accomplishing various arduous feats, Yves is very calculating but not in a cold hearted way; he enjoys thinking though battle strategies which he learned from his mentor Primara and contemplating the outcome of the event. Yves is very charismatic and caring to those he considers his friends and family; he is strongly devoted to them and would try his hardest to make sure that they do not come to any harm. In dire situations, he is willing to risk his own life for his sister, for he wishes her to have a full life and as much happiness and she can achieve, since she is the only blood family member he has left since the Hunts began. Months after the three of them escaped the Hunt, Yves, along with the two mares in his small family, discovered that he has formed a strong urge to protect the weak from harm. It was during one of these quests to save the innocent that the stallion had an epiphany; he is extremely wary of humans and contained a very strong dislike for the two-leggers. Although, he noticed that his hatred did not stain his relationships with soquili who interact with humans on a daily basis.

Background:

The Beginning

Even from his first memory of the world, he knew that he was being hunted; Yves and his sister watched as their beloved parents were slaughtered in front of them as the humans hunted them down to steal away their life and horns. Hidden amongst the shadows, the unicorn foals were too scared to cry out or get help, their inaction was what saved their own lives; alone and no one in the world to call family, the foals wondered aimlessly, afraid of their own shadows, until they met Primara, the mare who became their guardian, mentor, and parent.

Yves grew up strong under the care and tutorage of Primara, because of her he started to enjoy the strategies that went in to planning and winning a battle or a fight; he was quite tactical in his decisions and would weigh all his options before he went through with a plan. Calculating and planning were not the only skills that took of much of his time as he grew into a stallion, for he became quite adept at healing and was proud in his expertise.

The Capture

On the fateful day, while Yves was tracking the humans, he witnessed his sister capture by the very two-leggers he was following; he stayed hidden in the shadows of the tree, knowing if he tried to save her now, the hunters would capture them both. The stallion went back to the small glen where the three unicorns had made camp, he told Primara what he had seen and together they formed a plan.

The unicorn stallion offered himself as the diversion that would lead the hunters away from their base and leave Evania with only a few guards watching over her, whom Primara would quickly dispose of and after the rescue of his sister, Primara would kill the remaining humans hunting him.

The Diversion

It was almost too easy to lead the humans away from the base, for they were blinded by their greed, but that did not prevent their aim for being true. He took two arrows in the side before he could react, he ran into the woods, leaving the humans in the dust, even with his two injuries. Sharp searing pain ran up his right front leg and he was forced to the ground, the chain on the bear trap would not budge, he was trapped, with the humans hot on his trail. Yves tried to pull the trap off with his teeth, but to no avail; a shout drew his attention, a human with a bow came through the trees and let an arrow fly toward his heart. By some twist of fate, the arrow missed giving him the fatal blow, the human cursed and reached for another arrow, but there was none left in the quiver. With a glower the human threw down the bow and grasped the axe strapped to his belt, with slow meticulous steps the man made his way closer to Yves, who continued to struggle against his chain; after what appeared to be hours the man arrived at the side of the stallion, his axe raised in the air preparing to give the killing bow. Yves twisted his body as the axe came down toward his neck, so instead of making contact with his soft flesh it hit the hard bone of his horn.

The Axe man stood stunned, not quite sure what had just happened, Yves seeing this opportunity may be his last, used what was left of this horn to slay the human. More shouts filled the air, but it was soon followed by the sound of fighting as well, Primara had finally come.

A Time to Recuperate

Slowly the stallion stood, grabbed the chain with his teeth and pulled, the rusted chain broke under the strain, he was free. Yves limped his way back to the camp, where his sister healed his wounds and he faded off into the black oblivion of exhaustion.

The Hunt of the Hunting

Completely healed, but still showing the scars of battle and the emotional trauma, the three unicorns made the decision it was time to turn the tables on the humans who had caused them this much pain; the hunted now became the hunters as the nobles fled from the once pure creatures, who they turned into human blood thirsty monsters. Once all those who had wronged them were dead, the trio left their home land, to find a new life in the land of Kawani.

Soquili name: Primara Elwyn-Sora
(Meaning: Primara means The protector. Elwyn-Sora means sister to the Elwyns)
NOTE: She's not related to her 'siblings' by blood
Soquili Temper: Vindictive

Personality:
Before The Capture:
Primara was never really soft, but she hadn't exactly been the hardened mare that she is today. She always watched over her 'siblings' with care and provided whatever they needed. The three always kept themselves hidden and away from any of the hunts, except for the secret hunts that Prim went out on on her own.

Prim has always been fairly secretive and doesn't talk too much. She only ever lets her guard down around her family and she doesn't trust strangers.

After The Capture:
After her 'sister's' capture, she became less trusting. Always looking over her back and always on the move. She allowed Eva less freedom and refused to stay in one place for very long. Prim hates having to worry for her family, but even so, she would never abandon them or give them up.

The mare has always harbored a hate for the two-leggers, but after what they have done to her family, she bares no mercy for them. Feeling that her sister's capture was her fault, Primara never lets the mare out of her sight. She feels that if she hadn't gone on that hunt, then the two-leggers would never have been around to hunt her and her family in return. She has seen what they have done to her sister, and she has vowed to kill every last one of them.

Background:
Ever since Primara was a yearling, she'd been on her own. As a foal, she and her parents were caught by several hunters. Her mother and father managed to make a large enough camotion that Prim was able to escape the ropes that bound her. After freeing herself from the rope she made her way to a nearby thicket full of bushes and brambles. She survived the capture but retained several scars that are still visible today. Once alone, the mare managed to do fairly well on her own.

Not ever knowing what happened to her parents, but full of revenge, Primara would go on raids of the camps when she could. Usually at night, to slay the two-leggers. During these battles she procured several trophies to make herself look as fierce as possible, such as the skull she uses to hold her braid. She continued this way until that fateful day. It was a day she remembered fairly well. She'd been looking for a place to rest for the evening, when she heard the cries of two foals. Typically, she would have remained hidden and continued on. However, something in those cries drew her onward until she came across the source of the noise. Upon reaching a clearing she found herself face to face with a colt and a filly. They appeared to be terrified, but unharmed and simply lost. Quickly she took the two into her care and escorted them to safety. Since that day, she has watched over the two as if they were her own family, and in a way, they have become one.

In secret, she would continue to raid camps when she could. Ensuring that she left no survivors and that her siblings would be safe. However, Primara had never considered that perhaps, she might become hunted herself. During a raid of one of the smaller camps, she became clumsy and left a survivor. It was this man that brought on the hunt that would change her forever. Had she been more careful, her siblings may have been spared from harm. To this day, Prim blames herself for her sister's capture.

The Hunt:
After discovering that her sister was missing, she and her brother went in search of her. She sent him to create a distraction and she went to rescue her from the guards. During the rescue, she faced two two-leggars who were watching her sister. She was able to take the first out quite easily, but the second managed to strike her neck and her cheek, leaving gaping wounds. No matter her wounds, she was able to dispose of the two guards, taking their jaws as her trophies, and a reminder of what she had allowed to happen. Afterwards, she was able to bring her sister back to their camp alive, if not well.

Soquili Temper: Self-doubting

Personality: She doubts her every move, has no confidence in herself, is sad almost all the time.

Background: Rayna was captured when she was still fairly young, playing with a young two-legger girl child, when the father of the girl discovered them. Without his daughter's knowledge, he set about a plan to capture the rare creature, and when he was ready to set his plan into action, he used his daughter as bait. The mare couldn't understand why her friend would do such a horrible act against her and so caused all of her self-esteem issues and slight distrust in humans. The girl, though, never forgave her father for the crime he committed, and so when she was much older, she snuck into the area where the mare was kept and released her. Running into Ava (below), Ava comforted Rayna and sought to soothe Rayna's insecurities, while swearing to find a way to get Rayna her very own happily ever after.

Soquili name: Gavin
Soquili Temper: Cold

Personality: Gavin was always very confident almost to the point of being too prideful. He knew he could achieve everything he set his mind too whether it was hunting or mares. All of that changed with the unicorn hunts. Now, he's cold and calculating..and will do everything he can do get revenge. He doesn't care so much about the race, as Ava (below) does, but more about his pride being hurt. Before he was shot, he was sweet and understanding, but now...he can no longer truly sympathize and empathize with other victims of the hunts. His life will now revolve around Ava, when not hunting those who shot him, as she saved him and he would give his life for her.

Background: Gavin is the hunter that turned into the hunted. He used to be a healer/hunter for hire. He was supposed to go on a job when he was betrayed, startled and brought to the ground by an arrow. When he gained his strength to finally get away, he was shot again. Ava found him wounded and led him to safety and in return, he has become her general. He doesn't fight for the same reasons Ava does, but he most definitely supports her cause.

Soquili name: Ava the Shadhavar
Soquili Temper: Idealistic

Personality: Ava has always been a dreamer, a singer and dancer of great skill, even when the unicorn hunts twisted her into darkness. She is a solid believer in happily ever after, and believing that the two-leggers stole the happily ever afters of all unicorns, she will do everything and become a Joan of Arc to restore to the unicorns their happily ever after. It makes her frighteningly blind to how the world really is and what's truly important in life, but Ava has decided to make this personal quest her life. She hates and fears two-leggers, among many other childish fears she privately harbors, like bugs, spiders, the dark, and heights, but she doesn't let that stop her. After all, she has a quest~! Though admittedly, the skulls and mandibles adorning her were raided from graveyards. There is no way Ava would ever ask for help from a two-legger.

Background: Ava was part of a herd as a filly, where she was praised for her high, sweet, and pure voice, and her delicate dance steps. The unicorn hunts came when she was a yearling and murdered and kidnapped all of the herd. No one was spared, and Ava watched everyone's dreams turn to despair. In desperation, after a painful and frightening two years, she fought her way to freedom...only to meet the other two...and begin to plot a way to save the happily ever afters of all unicorn-kind. Toward this end, she has taken on the title of "the Shadhavar" and has sought to first save all unicorns captured in the unicorn hunts, gaining support, among other things, and eventually, she'll move towards all-out war and genocide to ensure the return of the happily ever afters of all unicorns. The way she kills two-leggers? She sings and dances, as innocently and sweetly as a child...and when the foolish two-legger is totally entranced and close enough...she kills them....

The Plot Between the Trio

Mission: Rayna's Happily Ever After
Ava dearly loves Rayna and wants Rayna to know happiness, but knows that won't happen with the poor mare at her side. So she plans on trying to match Rayna up with a unicorn stallion who will love and care for her. Little does she know, but things may not go Ava's way, though Rayna will get her happily ever after....

Sweet Revenge
Gavin has an itching to return the villagers who shot him with a similar favor. It's an obsessive compulsion with him now, and it would be best to not get in his way when he finds them and figures out how he's going to get revenge with only the stump of his horn....

The Price She Pays: the End of Ava's Quest
Unfortunately, while Ava would like to believe that she is a Joan of Arc and ultimately doing the world the greatest of favors, that's simply not true. She's destroying countless other happily ever afters in a mad attempt to secure happily ever afters for all unicorn-kind. Faced with the very deepest and truest of loves, she will initially spurn it on the grounds that she has no time to settle down and make a family when she has a war to wage, and find out almost too late that the biggest cost of her quest was a price she should never have offered to pay: her own happily ever after! The realization of this great disaster on her part, by nearly losing the one who loved her the most, will cause her to end her quest and seek atonement for all of her crimes.

At Last: Happily Ever After
This will go two ways: after Ava fails to help Rayna find happiness, Rayna will leave, despairing with the belief that she has lost her one shot at a happily ever after. She will eventually find someone who genuinely loves her and will help her on the long, painful road to recovery and happiness.

On the other hand, Ava and Gavin will go through their own romance...together. Gavin will come through a desire to always protect her, no matter what, to truly loving Ava. Ava, of course, won't figure this out or sort out her feelings until she stops her little war. Once she sorts out her feelings, she'll realize that Gavin has loved her for a long time and has given his all for her as long as he's known her. She'll also realize that she hasn't given him enough in return and will come to realize just how wonderful a stallion he is in his heart of hearts. When they come clean to each other about their feelings for each other, they'll finally find their happily ever after.

After all three get their happily ever afters, they'll meet up again, as friends with a far brighter future after a horrifically bad past.

Soquili name: Dalriada
Soquili Temper: Quiet

Personality: Dalriada has always been a quiet girl, silence was a very important part of survival in her homelands. If you couldn't master passing through the lands unnoticed in her mother's eyes, you were doomed to fall at the hands of the humans, and her mother drilled that into her foals. That never was a problem for Dal though, she's never had much to say. It takes much to get her to raise her voice, though that's if you can keep her around that long. Dalriada isn't a fighter by nature and after her capture, it only takes the slightest threat to her being and freedom to make this mare bolt.
Her times in the gardens have impacted her sprit in a hard way, severely paranoid of humans, Dal will go through anything to stay out of their way. It's been drilled into her, and there's no way for that to change. The feeling of standing in those gardens treated as nothing more then a lovely statue to stare at haunts her, and whenever the the paranoia of those hunter's ropes runs wild. The iron around her neck will feel unbearable tight and the pain will return to the front of her mind. She can stay stuck in her frightened mind for minutes unless she is brought back to reality by someone. Though as time passes these are beginning to happen less frequently, as she's beginning to feel safe in her new 'herd'.
Dal is fairly kind to those she meets, though her sudden silences can come off as a little rude but it's something she's working on with her traveling companions. She's slowly changing her ways, but the deep-rooted fear is ever present. Willing to meet new people, Dalriada will always try and be friendly and open until she hears of them having a human. Horses that allow themselves to willingly live under the care of those beasts appalls and angers her, and she will never be able to change that. No matter what she can only allow herself to feel truly safe and comfortable around her traveling companions after everything they've been through.

Background: Growing up in a small family group, the young Dalriada lived with her mother Rana, and two sisters Avari and Nim. They were a loving family, or as loving as they could be in their situation. Being born into a world where their kind is hunted for various reasons has had them on the move from day one, the fear of man finding them haunting their every step. Thinking back now, Dal realizes why her mother acted the way she did towards her fillies. Having gone through motherhood twice already, Rana knew what she had to do. Yet she also understood anything could happen and knew not to get emotionally attacked to her offspring. So the sisters were never babied or coddled. Instead they were instilled with the deep-rooted fear of man her mother carried everywhere. They were taught when it was safe to move, and how to search for any signs that said hunters may be close. Many of these Dalriada carries with her today, some things are hard to unlearn. During her foal years, it was her sisters she looked to for any comfort she could get. A bond formed between these sisters in their younger years, and as they grew into beautiful adolescents their mother became more and more caring towards them. Rana began to let herself love her children since they had been able to survive so long. As they grew older, the burden of having to constantly watch over them started to lessen as Avari, Nim and Dalriada were able to care a little more for themselves. They were starting to become comfortable with their situations, and find happiness within their little herd.
It was after the family decided to settle down for a much needed rest after days of walking that problems began to arise. Laying gathered together in the small cover of foliage, the young mares slept under the gentle nuzzles and watchful eyes of their mother for the night. Unknown to them that this would be their last night together as a herd. It was that night when a group of men crept upon the small family, ropes in hand. One of them had seen their beautiful mother when she was quietly scouting out the area earlier in the afternoon, and now the party pursued to capture their prize. They had managed to get fairly close before Rana had heard the could of a boot scuff the rough soil, and quickly as lightening she rose from her spot and bolted away, the jolt of her sudden movement waking the slumbering mares. Whether their mother had ran to try and pull the attention of the hunters from her children, or to simply keep herself safe they would never figure out. There was a lot of commotion after Rana's sudden departure, and Dalriada and her sisters stayed as still as they could, hoping to go unnoticed as the men hurried unto their horses to chase the beautiful Unicorn, but three has stayed behind. One of the headed right to where Rana had been laying. He was in no way a good looking human, old and scarred, but he'd been doing this job for a long time and knew to always check where a mare had been hiding before anything else. How smart he was. As soon as he reached for the bush the trio were in, Nin quickly lashed out and bit the hand, hoping her display of aggressiveness would chase the hunters away. Yet all that action had caused was a pained yell from the man and a hard bash straight to the mares head, it had also called the other two to their location quickly. As the mares rose to run frantically they were stopped as a rain of ropes showed down on them.
Dalriada couldn't tell you how far they were taken that night. All she can remember if the feel if sheer panic as she stuck close to Avari's side in the little wagon they were rounded up in. It wad only Avari and Dal gathered together, her sister Nim having crumpled to the ground after the man had hit here. They were later joined by a strange dark coated uni that laid in the corner only looking at the occasionally. Dal never did find out what happened to Nim or her mother after that night, only that their sister's scent followed with them the whole way. At one point the strange dark stallion had began talking to the duo, not that Dal could remember it, most of the trip is still a blur to her. Soon they ended up in what the other horses called the auction house. It was a horrible place, torn from her sister's side early Dalraida was stuck in a dark and small stall only visited when someone came to give her some food or water. Confused and scared the adolescent spent what felt like an eternity inside the walls, only the sound of the other Uni's yelling around her calling out giving her any sense of company. She'd spend only a few days there before it was her turn to be auctioned off. Being pulled into a courtyard by two people, Dal panicked at the sight of how many elaborately dressed people stood around. There was a lot of yelling after she had been stopped on stage, angry and loud yelling, but with each shout the fast speaking man's smile grew more and more until it all ended with one quick sold. With that Dalriada was quickly shipped off to a new location. Her new home.
It was a place Dal would spend a lot of time, and it was very odd in her eyes. From what she had learned of humans in the past week, she felt as if she was in another world. Having been set out in a small area covered with flowers and oddly shaped trees, Dalriada found herself becoming more and more anxious as the time passed. Unable to move far because of the ball of metal that lay at the end of her chain, Dal was stuck to move in a small area around her. The gardens were very strange to her, everyday she would stand around waiting for something to happen and nothing ever would. People would come out in groups of two or three to walk throughout he flowers, but they never approached her. Instead they would stand at a short distance and stare, smile or laugh in her general direction. Odd creatures they were, but after a few months of living in the garden Dal began to get mildly comfortable with her surroundings. She always had water available, and she had made a new friend. A young boy who cared for the garden owners horses, everyday he would sneak over to the garden and try and get close to Dal with offerings of sugar cubes and soft words. He called her Lady, and eventually he was the only person that gave her any form of kindness. At night he would sit next to her and stroke her neck and nose while telling her of things that happened that day. It stayed like that for awhile, but as she grew older the collar around her neck began to get tighter and the boy had enough. So one night, when the moon was shadowed he showed up without his sugar and began urging her to stand Dal was confused. But she followed him and watched as he ran to the chain connected the the iron ball and started tugging, and then eventually snacking at it with a rock in his hand. The noise of the hits alerted someone and before Dal knew it there were 4 people running their way shouting. The boy shot up with a start and dropped the rock before making a run for it, the people chasing.
That was the last time he visited her, though she did see him from a distance one time after that, he only looked at her like one of the people who visited to stare. Her boy was not hers anymore. After that the days started to blur together, the only thing noting her growing up into a beautiful mare were the iron strips wrapped around her neck and leg that cut deep into her skin. At first the pain was horrid and would throb, but after awhile of no care it just went to the back of her mind, and became something she was used to. Dalraida had come to believe that she would stay there forever, and began to withdraw into herself. That is until they burst into the garden and everything changed, these two unicorns that saved her future.

Soquili name: Ciryatan
Soquili Temper: Frosted

Personality: Once upon a time, Ciryatan had been many things. He had been friendly, he had been warm, and he had been content with his life, and content to live amongst himself and wander the forests. Once upon a time, he had been known to be handsome, charming, and even bordered on debonaire - but that is gone, a fairy tale lost in the sands of time.

Where once was a smile, there is only a scowl, and his pretty blue eyes reflect the sheet of ice that seems to have encased him. He has gone cold, like a glacier, and neither woman nor child nor quickening of blood can warm his frozen heart. One ought not lay hand on him, for to do so would cause pain not of a physical nature, and he will retreat and scowl and sneer and curse until the offender has gone.

Within him, a small glow of hope for peace, surrounded by ragged shards of glass. They poke and stab, keeping the inner light at bay, and desperately, it cries out in rebellion for freedom. He keeps it tight on a chain, for fear that, should it ever be free, he will break. He has broken once before, and hates it. And he will not break again.

Background: Despite the war, the hunts on his kind, Ciryatan had a relatively quiet foalhood. He had no siblings, and traveled with his mother, always on the move, though she never said why. His mother spoke of his father like a true gentleman, a stallion among stallions, and told as many good stories as she did bad. He only knew of the Venge when meeting other Unicorn children, which was rare, and otherwise, he had no nightmares. Miraculously, he had managed to escape the horrors of what befell his race largely until he was an adult, and the only heartbreak he knew was waking up alone once he'd left his mother.

The hunts were at full force, by then, and meeting other Unicorns became rarer and rarer. On the offchance he did meet one, their conversation was often terse and rushed, as though they wanted to get as far away from his as possible, and while this always left him confused, it never bothered him. When he learned that they were being hunted, and more likely to die, he found himself truly afraid for the first time. And after a day or so of feeling this way, he pushed past it, because it would not do to fear what he could not predict, or see.

Soon, he found his way to it's front door, and even then, he kept safe. Whether it was due to his mother's imprint to constantly move, or because he simply was in the right place at the right time, he always managed to avoid trouble. The only real sign of the hunt he'd seen were foals that were captured, and then, he would tsk and shake his head and blame the mother for leaving them alone, unaware that she was likely a bloated corpse to be served at some wealthyman's dinner table later that night. They seemed fine, though they looked scared, and he would obliviously move on, not wanting to watch.

And now, it seems, he won't be able to call on good luck much longer.

The Vengeful Protector

Soquili name: Atgas (Welsh: Hateful)
Soquili Temper: Maddened

Personality: Headstrong, unruly, threatening and playful are four of the best terms to describe Atgas’s transformed personality. She cares little for what you think, practically drinks your fears and loves to throw them right back at you. She relishes in the gore that has become her life, dancing gayly amid the madness in her mind.

Background: No vestige of what once was lingers in the grim presence of the reborn creature that had claimed the name of Atgas. A creature twisted and marred in a hate of all things man, manmade and man-tamed; the innocence that was carried by filly-hood lost and bound in a bloodstained chest. All that remains is the murderous soul that can never be quenched, an insatiable appetite for the life of man to be snuffed out on horn and under hoof.

Heulwen (Welsh: Sunshine), as named by Mother, came into this world while the hunt as at a breast. Dark whispering exchanged between passing mouth and hoof of a man’s taint for greed and the glory of their rare bounty. It was all just an old mare’s tale to Mother; nothing could bring down a unicorn’s proud grace as no man should want to harm it. Oh how wrong.

Man had tracked Mother, late after the sun’s set and moon’s rising. They unleashed a silenced sort of dog-beast, as if man had reached into their very gullet and stripped them of their bark. Onto the sleeping form of Mother they went reaping the air with cries of confusion. It is night a not to be revisited, for the filly known as Heulwen survived only by being pinned beneath the belly of Mother for a day and night. A Mother raped of hooves, horn and carcass left to be picked at by the ravens.

The morning light was far too harsh as it set its glare unto the horrid reality before it. Madness soon set, followed by the need to survive. Heulwen knew of the game; the game of Fox that all young ones played. Man was Fox that night. Now it was her turn.

Years went by bringing age with knowledge and knowledge with furthering madness. Men that dared to stray into the Fox’s den found themselves ripped apart. Tales would spread of the Vengeful, the Hateful, of the unicorn twisted more-so then her very horn. The most frightful of which used to scare unruly children of Man to behave; Beware of the Vengeful, child, for she will gobble you up and decorate her land with your bones.

The Plot Between the Trio

The Hunt

• Ciryatan is caught in a bear trap. Unable to move, he's confronted with men on horseback and dogs snapping at his heels. They attempt to carve off his horn and only succeed in snapping it because of his struggles. He pulls and bucks until the chain of the trap (fixed to the ground by a stake) gives way. He runs.

• Panicked, he blindly flees, tripping and stumbling through the woods. He's slowed by the trap and the pain in his leg, and he's anything but quiet. Attempting to look over his shoulder, he stumbles into a bramble patch, and just beyond that, a thicket, and hits the ground with his knees. The thicket is decorated with human remains, bones and skulls littering it. Within, a fearsome unicorn with a large, blood stained horn and a wicked grin smiles madly at him - The Venge. Terror consumes him, and he stuggles to his feet, bursting from the opposite side and trying desperately to get away.

• The Venge, intrigued and amused by Ciryatan's sudden appearance, and the smell and sound of dogs and men on horseback, Atgas follows close behind, though her intents are unclear at first.

• Ciryatan runs straight into a noble's garden. There, chained and neglected, Dalriada stands. She seems genuinely surprised to see him, and that surprise turns to horror at the sight of his wounds. He gawks, breathing heavy, and an arrow lands in his side with a sickening 'thunk', and then another. He falls to his knees, resigning himself to death.

• Atgas reappears, prancing into the gardens as though without a care in the world, and through riddling tongue, convinces them to flee with her. Ciryatan attempts to chase them off with scathing words, but Atgas remains steadfast, and, still clinging to the faint hope he might survive, agrees. Dal is easily won over by the idea of freedom.

• Dalraida's ball and chain present a problem, however, and no amount of magic will lighten it long enough for them to get away, without exhausting them all (Ciryatan, as it is, is in no fit state to attempt any magic) and is surely a death sentence. Dalraida, however, never took kindly to her 'keepers', and kept them away. She suffered for this in her constant exposure to nature. The iron chain is rusted, and with one fell swoop, Atgas breaks the chain between two links with her tail-mounted-blade.

• They flee.

The Game

• Over the course of many days, the trio travel together, taking frequent and long breaks, if only for Ciryatan's sake. The first arrow, they remove easily, as it was never embedded in his skin, while the other they simply leave be for the first few days. It soon proves to be too much a hinderance, and Dalraida attempts to pull it from him, snapping it at the point where the wood meets the head. This makes their journey slow and exceedingly painful for Ciryatan.

• Atgas suggests they cut Ciryatan's leg off for the sake of saving time. Both he and Draida refuse, and instead seek another way to remove it. Each attempt is painful, and finally, they manage to wiggle it off his ankle, and after a moment's rest, Atgas urged them to move, much to Ciryatan's displeasure.

• The Venge, Atgas, proves to be more insane than stories have told. She constant speaks in riddles, and mostly to herself, and this disturbs Ciryatan. He seeks for ways to remove himself (and possibly Dalraida) from her presence.

• The men continue to track them by scent and blood. Though they have escaped death, they are not safe yet, and they continue to flee across the lands, heading towards Soquili lands, though they do not know it. They manage to avoid the men frequently, and only by chance on many occasions.

The Almost-Split

• Ciryatan voices his concerns for Atgas' mental state to Dalraida, who agrees that the mare is strange, though seems unaffected by this. He pleads that they flee, for fear of their own lives. Many times, Atgas was only disuaded from engaging the men on horseback with them either fleeing first of powerful shoves and shouting.

• Dalraida, though skeptical and unsure, agrees, and they make plans to slip away the following night.

• The sneak away into the darkness, and for a day or so, Ciryatan is relieved to have escaped the Venge's clutches; until she reappears, scolding and hissing and growling, that they ought not leave her again. Their escape thwarted, Ciryatan retreats deeper into himself.

The New World

• After many months, Dalraida becomes aware that they have not heard, nor seen, the men on horseback or their dogs for many days. This concerns her, and she keeps closer to Ciryatan and Atgas because of it. When asked, she mentions her observations, and surprisingly, both Ciryatan and Atgas agree that they haven't seen, or heard, anything.

• The trio also notice that they don't recognize their surroundings, and while that has been the case for weeks, the trees even look different, which concerns them. They press on, however, because going back means certain death.

The Future

• The first thing they encounter is another Unicorn, one without scars and bloody fur. This encounter would (hopefully) show the safety of where they've turned up. This would be opened up to anyone with a Unicorn, as a way for them to learn of their homeland, and for the trio to learn of Soquili lands.

• Atgas will slowly unwravel further and become more and more insane. This will drive Ciryatan and Dalraida to attempt another escape. Whether or not it will be successful will depend largely on who they know. There will be a certain amount of time between entering Soquili lands and the attempt to leave her, and during that time, Ciryatan and Dalraida will likely try to keep in touch with the fourth Unicorn. Should that Unicorn be part of a herd, it will likely be this group that they will turn to. If not, they will likely attempt a solitary escape. Atgas will likely continue to search for them until she finds them, or another Unicorn/Soquili to fixate on.

• Dalraida may feel the pull of herd life, should they encounter one, while Ciryatan will likely try to stay solitary for a short time. Losing his companionship, however, would force him to realize that he needs it, and return to her, assuming she did not leave the herd she joined, if she joined at all. Otherwise, they may stay together, as Ciryatan would be unlikely to leave Dalraida alone.

• Given they stay together, or even after a short seperation, Ciryatan is at high risk of falling in love with Dalraida.

Soquili name: Temerity- Excessive confidence or boldness; audacity ( Also impulsiveness, indiscretion, gall, if you like any of those)
Soquili Temper: Penitent

Personality:
Temerity had a good nature growing up. She never let her disappointment in herself keep her down for long, but as she got older she took the criticism more and more personally. After her betrayal, capture, escape, and flight; she is horrified by what she has wrought. She spends her days now trying to make up for what she caused through her jealousy and yearns to one day earn forgiveness, from Stark and Tempest, the spirits of her herd, and from herself.

Background:
Temerity was always expected to excel at everything she did. Being the younger of a set of twins she was firmly attached to her older twin's shadow from birth. The younger by four minutes, Temerity was cursed with the stigma of being second. Her parents did not tolerate failure from either of them, but her twin brother did not tolerate failure in himself. Being the younger, and female, growing up Temerity was always just a little bit less than her perfect, cold-hearted sibling but still, she strove to impress. The rare bit of acknowledgement from him or her parents could make her day, and alternately their frequent frowns of disapproval could crush her. Even firmly entrenched in his shadow, a young Temerity adored her brother with a purity only a foal can possess.

However, as she grew older, she was always just a little bit too slow, too weak, too stupid. Always, her parents looked to her brother as the paragon of the family name and slowly, slowly a part of her grew to resent him. His perfect attitude, his perfect smarts, his perfect everything. This resentment grew and grew, until one day she thought, what would things be like if he were gone; disappeared one way...or another. He couldn't be better if he wasn't around anymore right?

The thought horrified her at first and she banished it at once, disgusted with herself. Slowly however, it wormed its way back like a deadly vine, choking her mind.

Soquili name: Stark (Grim, Barren)
Soquili Temper: Hardened.

Personality:

Raised in an environment where failure is unacceptable, he is not one to tolerate it from anyone, including himself. Efficiency and results are what drive him. He cares not for what the "right" choice may be but only for what is necessary. Whether it be out of some misplaced sense of the "Greater Good" of all things or simply the cold voice of those who raised him speaking through his mouth, he refuses to mince words and demands what he can get out of people. Sometimes this may be more than they can deliver, in which case they are dead weight and should be cast aside. Tradition and the rest of the old ways are the dried husks of a time long past, the future will require more and better means if the Unicorns are to survive. Others can follow or be left behind.

The "Incident" only served to reinforce these notions. Bitterness, anxiety, and a dash of hatred are the byproducts of his shame. Any sense of nobility is cast aside in pursuit of what his kind need him to be. Cast down as he is his arrogance only grows with his embarrassment. Nothing is sacred any longer, not even family, as he tries to move forward.

Background:

Stark has always strived to make himself the best at everything he does. He was the first foal out of his mother womb and he would continue to make a line of firsts throughout his life. As a foal he was given attention that he never cared to desire. He didn't give himself time to make many friends, and was usually greeted with jealousy or intimidation by the other Uni his age. The only two the stuck by his side throughout life, for no reason other than his company was his younger twin sister, Temerity, and sparring partner, Tempest.
His focus is mainly on his possition in the herd and whatever he could do to improve himself. It was his goal in life to some day rule the herd and lead them to prosperity- to a place where they wouldn't have to worry about hunters or selfish humans.

The Vengeful Protector

Username: Faithofthfallen

Soquili name: Tempest (chaotic, tumultuous, upheaval)
Soquili Temper: Turbulent

Personality:
On the surface,Tempest may seem shallow and self absorbed. She has always been remarkably stubborn and strong-willed, frequently letting her petty vindictiveness get the better of her. Tempest tends to react hostilely towards figures of authority and has never hesitated to disobey orders she feels are foolish. She is quick-tempered, preferring to use her sharp hooves and dagger-like horn as a means of persuasion rather than falling back on peaceful negotiation. She is also more likely to act out of sheer self interest rather than any sort of misplaced philanthropy. Tempest tends to say exactly what is on her mind and has shown herself to be an incurably sarcastic cynic, only too happy to bluntly and harshly relieve others of their happy delusions regarding life. Delusions that were cruelly wrested from her at a young age.

Although these traits do have a place in her personality, The intensity of her outward persona could be described as a facade designed to cause those unfamiliar with her to underestimate her agile intelligence and skill as a tactician. Those few soquili who have managed to breach her tough exterior have found her deeper nature to be one of considerable selflessness, fierce loyalty and marked empathy for the suffering of others. As someone who has been forced to endure much at a very young age, Tempest has found that she is unable to ignore the true suffering of those around her. She reveals her more sympathetic nature only upon sensing true pain and a kindred resolve in the hearts of others. Though the blunt advice she offers to these 'lucky' individuals is more often than not sprinkled liberally with candid criticisms, it is only because she genuinely wishes to shock them out of their self pity and force them onto the most direct path out of their struggles. As one who has had to learn to cope with a hideously maimed face and a scarred body, she urges those who are lucky enough to be strong, whole and healthy to use that strength to move forward in their lives, and as one burdened by the errors and misplaced trust of her past, she stresses the necessity and wisdom of taking responsibility for one's own mistakes.

Background:

Tempest's connections to Temerity and Stark are easily the closest and most meaningful of her interpersonal relationships. Although their personalities are wildly different, they have been together since a young age and up until the incident, Tempest would readily give up her life for either of theirs. Being both older and stronger than the other two, Tempest has served as a protector for the siblings since she was young and finds it hard to equate her young friend Temerity as the betrayer who cost her her home and family. Upon returning from a patrol where they found signs of humans moving throughout the area, Tempest and her fellow warriors readied the herd to make yet another move away from the danger zone. Upon the discovery that both Stark and Temerity were missing, Tempest bade the herd to wait while she searched for them in the surrounding forest. With hunters in the area, the unicorns needed all of their warriors at home to defend, so Tempest was forced to venture forth on her own.

The Plot Between the Trio
Stark and Temerity are siblings, twins, born to the protector and Alpha of a small herd that had already suffered many losses to the Unicorn hunts. Because of this, the herd members placed great emphasis and value upon strength of body and mind, as both were needed to evade the bloodthirsty hunters who tirelessly stalked the herd regardless of how far or fast it ran. At an early age, the twins were introduced to Tempest, the child of a warrior who had fallen in battle soon after her birth and his mate, a fierce mare who introduced Tempest to the arts of war at a tender age. Tempest and the twins grew up alongside one another, over time the grew to be more than just childhood friends, they were family.

One day, driven to madness with jealousy of her older brother, Temerity overhears a whisper that there were hunters spotted in the deep woods. Knowing that the rumor was fresh, she made her decision. Temerity lured her brother away from the herd by convincing him to escort her on a walk, for safety. Their friend Tempest who normally went with her was nowhere to be found and Temerity 'simply could not wait' for her to return. In a rare generous mood, Stark agreed and followed his sister into the woods.

The twins end up captured by hunters, Stark caught in a trap and shot full of arrows. Temerity quickly realizes she has done a horrible thing as she is forced to watch a hunter brutally hack off her brother's pearly white horn. She is shuffled off into a wagon to be sold for a pleasure garden, a collar snapped around her neck and chained to the wagon in case she tries to escape.

Tempest bursts in on the scene at this point and sees Stark on the ground, Temerity chained, and lets fly with her hooves, horn, and the bladed weapon on her tail. She fights with everything she has and manages to kill two of the hunters before a sword hacks into the back of her neck. She whipped around, tail lashing in her wake to slice into the human who wounded her while screaming in anger and pain. The hunter with the sword takes a solid hit to the gut but slashes wildly in a last ditch effort to take Tempest out and slashes her mouth, leaving her cheeks bloody and torn.

During the melee, Stark escapes and goes to warn the herd of their fate and that there are vicious hunters in the area. He is tracked, unknown to himself, and leads a scout straight to his herd. The scout runs off to tell his group that there is a huge payload only a few miles from them. Tempest is knocked out in the fighting and comes to at about the same time as all this is going on. She had observed Stark fleeing and decided he would be safe enough, but Temerity would require saving. She tracks the hunting party back to their camp and (through no small amount of cunning and skill) breaks her out while most of the hunters are away for an unknown reason.

Temerity had been slowly replaying the events of the last hours and wallowing in guilt and shame. The hunters had put a ball and chain on her leg and neither she nor Tempest could find any keys so they ran for it, carrying the awful thing.

Back with the herd, Stark was being tended to while the herd prepared to hastily relocate. The hunters were preparing an ambush from the shadows, and Tempest (Temerity and her knew bracelet in tow) was trying to cover their tracks so they would not be found. Everything comes to a head when the hunters attack and subdue and/or kill the rest of the herd, leaving only Stark who's horn is already gone and his hide is riddled with holes. One hunter stays behind, preparing to simply put him out of his misery when Tempest bursts onto the scene and gores him straight through.

The three pause in the sudden quiet, Stark brokenly tells the mares what has befallen the herd, and Temerity suddenly breaks out in hysterical sobbing. Tempest, who had been wondering why her friend was so quiet, begins to have a suspicion. Temerity, weighed down so heavily by guilt she can scarcely breath, can only mutter 'I'm sorry, I'm sorry'.

Stark, never one to ignore the obvious just because he knows he wont like what he sees, bluntly asks her why she is sorry and she can do nothing but confess. Stark, despite his injuries, lunges at his sister with murder in his eyes. Tempest stops him, though she is just as furious as he, and says simply "Let her live with what she has done. It will haunt her forever, the wretch." turning to Temerity, "You killed every single one of them."

-Afterwards-

Starting anew:
Unbeknownst to them, all three of the Uni's travel to the Kawani lands to start anew. Tempest and Stark building a herd and family together, and Temerity trying to find a way to live with her actions.

Scars:
Tempest and Stark's appearances drive away most Uni's they find within the first few months. Even those who joined their herd look upon them in cautious fear. One day, Stark snaps and lectures the herd on how everyone has scars, theirs are just more visible.

Responsibilities:
Stark acknowledges the fact that in helping rebuild their herd, reproduction is required. He confronts Tempest with the idea, and she eventually bears him children.

Repent, sinner:
Temerity flees her homeland in shame, not entirely sure what she is going to do now. Eventually, she decides to spend the rest of her life trying to repent for her moment of pettiness and makes a vow to heal any who need it. Every time she takes a step, the heavy iron ball drags her down and the collar chafes her neck bloody. Still, she feels these are nothing but what she deserves and refuses all offers to have them removed.

Dangers of a new land:
While there aren't many hunters in this new land, there are dangers called "Skinwalkers" and "Kalonas". Their herd learns this the hard way after being attacked by a walker. Tempest steps up to defend them while Stark leads their herd to safety before going back to help his Protector. After defeating the Skinwalker, Stark must find them a safe place to stay, away from the dangers of the new land.

Coming Together:
The herd Stark and Tempest start together begins to flourish, Temerity hears of a herd of unicorns and grows curious. She seeks them out and finds, to her chagrin, her brother and former best friend have come to this land as well.

An Olive Branch:
Somehow, word reaches one (or all) of the three that other unicorns from their homeland are trying to flee the increasingly aggressive humans and Temerity agrees to go back in and start an underground railroad of sorts to ferry them away to safety.

Vengeance:
Tempest goes with Temerity on one of her railroad runs, and they encounter a very familiar group of hunters. The two mares, through trickery and cunning, end their days of hunting for good. The two realize they make a startlingly good team, and from then on Tempest hides while Temerity acts as bait and between the two of them, the hunters occasionally become the hunted.

Forgiveness:
The new arrivals from Hunterland are extremely grateful to have been given an out from the horrors of their land. Stark and Tempest slowly begin to forgive Temerity for what she did and accept her as a permanent part of their herd.

Soquili name: Tibia (Tibby for short)
Soquili Temper:Guilty

Personality: A bit of a naive female, Tibby has a childlike demeanor..trusting when she shouldn't trust. Doing things she shouldn't do; then pouting when one of her siblings reprimands her. She has many fears..and takes shelter with her siblings sicne she has known nothing else. The death of her parents did little to change her slightly crazy positive outlook on life. Death just seems silly to Tibby. How can her siblings get hurt or die? How can the humans keep hurting and, hunting them? Surely things will get better! A bit of a glutton Tibia adores food, she would run to the ends of the earth for a delicious apple or a rare bite of something sweet.

Background: Tibia remembers little of her real parents..she only recalls little snippets of when they were alive. Fro ma month old upwards the mare thought of Abra as more of a father figre to her..her sister Suture more of a gentle mothering figure. Even when they had to hide and, even when the mean humans tried to harm them Tibby stayed positive. Surely they could one day find a safe place..a place to call home. A place where Abra wouldn't worry and, where he wouldn't leave them.

The Hunted

Username: Akira-Kisho

Soquili name: Abrasion (Abra for short)
Soquili Temper: Selfless

Personality: Abra is not the kind to serve himself before others. He is selfless to the core and will give anything and everything for the safety and protection of his two sisters, and will extend a shield of protection to those who simply ask for it. He is kind to those who he meets on his travels, which are mainly to find food for his siblings. He lives by the code of “Those who pass judgment must wield the sword.” Thus making him a soq with a level head and never quick to judge a situation. He will sacrifice his own needs and wants for those who need it more, but he will not be walked on. He is strong in his judgment and his ideals. He is a stallion of great opinion and has a very specific way of doing things. It is how he has survived the many winters he has with his siblings. Because he is set in his ways, he is not easily manipulative, but he is good at manipulating others, with kindness and never with cruelty. He has smooth talked his family out of many situations that could have gone sour fast, but because of his sharp mind he has been able to protect them from all that has come their way… so far.

Background: Abra and his two siblings lost their parents in a sacrificial ceremony when their youngest, Tibia was not even a month old. He took it upon himself, as the eldest to be the shield of which his two siblings could rely and hide from the misery and pain of the world. He taught them how to protect themselves in the event something happened to him, but he made sure to always keep a level head and evaluate any situation that posed danger, as the last thing he wanted was to leave his sisters with out him. He wasn’t always the stoic protector though. He would spend many nights telling them stories that would make them laugh till they cried, would make them have to cuddle up to him close at night, or stories with great, deep meaning that would make them think. He also always found that play was important and encouraged imagination, in all of them, including himself. He was a vivid storyteller, with an imagination as great and vast as the oceans were wide. Every encounter he had, gave him more fuel to ignite his passions of creation. He became crafty, as the need to protect and hide was strong. So he’d use his imagination to hone skills like setting traps, hiding their travels, or things so small as contraptions that would fascinate his siblings; like a butterfly made from sticks and leaves to a wooden horse that would rock in the wind.

The Vengeful Protector

Username:TanuKyle

Soquili name: Suture (Tu for short)
Soquili Temper: Content

Personality: Tu has never been one to step out and show the world she’s there. She’s always hidden under the protection first of her parents and now under the protection of her brother. Growing up, Tu was the closest to their parents, and their deaths hit her the hardest, causing her to become so much more afraid. As Suture was the middle child, she felt like she’d become the fade out, or the one with no talents, so she grew up under the protection of her brother as such; feeling like she’d never have to step up. She became comfy in the state of content. However, when it came to her family taunting and boasting, she was quick to get angry. In fact, she’s quite spunky when she gets riled, but she won’t just step up on her own. She needs a push. She’d rather be a follower than a leader. But as the world changes, and things become much more dire, she is still smart enough to know that she may one day have to protect herself, or perhaps even her family. She’s a smart girl, willing to step up, but only if she ahs to, because she is afraid of dying, afraid of pain and deathly afraid of losing her family.

Background: Growing up, Tu was sheltered by her parents. They were very well aware that Abra was going to grow up strong, but they were worried about their (at the time) youngest daughter. They tried to teach her how to protect herself, but she never really cared to learn. She was much more content with just being protected by her family. After her other sister was born, she completely accepted the fact she’d be the cursed middle child. Doomed to live in the shadow of the perfect brother and the adorable little sister. So she spent most of her days being lazy, knowing she’d just be able to rely on her parents and brother. However, when her parents were killed for the sacrificial ritual, she got a rude awakening call. She became frightened, knowing that she was not good at protecting herself, she began listening to her brother, her spunk and anger for the loss of her parents driving her to train, but she was still always secretly hoping he’d always be there. She’d play with her youngest sibling, however she’d always be jumpy and hated being scared. She was always afraid at night and could never sleep alone. She clung to her family, trying to hide behind them. She’d take comfort in the little creations her brother would make, often using them as security blankets for when he was not around. She pretended to gather courage, but when the time truly comes for it, will she be able to step up to the challenge? Or will she fail?

Abrasion and Suture become frantic with the loss of their sibling. Abrasion goes out with Suture, but together, they realize humans are everywhere and traps are hidden within the earth. Abrasion, being the protector that he is, sacrifices himself into a trap to distract the humans while it gives Suture a chance to go into the human’s camps where they have taken unicorns for slaughter. She must now rise to the occasion, to seek vengeance for her permanently scarred brother, and her captured sister. To save her sister, and kill the humans?
