Bedford was staring at the far mountains, completely disinterested in the mundane things going on around him. His physical body might be here, but his mind was very much not present. In his mind, he was having wonderous adventures, things that were in some ways not possible. Magic carpets, genies with lamps, sprouting wings and flying...were just some of the impossibilites that seemed so exciting to his mind. One day he would escape her, with everything he needed on his back and he wouldn't stop until he was old and grey. It was a plan, wasn't it?

Vasilissa has wandered far from the teepee, space being something much needed and loved. The two Usdias she ruled over were a handful. Sighing, she chastised herself. If she could not handle two usdias how did she think she'd be able to lead an entire herd? She had the desire, but not the knowledge. "Help is what I need. Help and a lot of luck." She mumbled to herself, gazing up at the sky. "Will I ever be the leader I dream of?" Glancing back down, her eyes came to rest on a stallion and she eyed him cautiously, wondering whether or not to say something.

Bedford didn't hear a sound. Well, that wasn't exactly right. He heard a myriad of sounds--wind whipping through his air, warriors yells, the ebb and flow of the ocean, the rustling of brooks, and the gingling ornaments of a geisha. He was so enraptured in his daydreams, so far away from where he really was that he hadn't heard the silent approach of someone behind him. I had been his intense and ardent desire to travel, and sometime...someday when his responsibilites allowed him to, he would do that. He would travel.

Vasilissa raised a brow and took a small step closer to the stallion. "You're not very observant, are you?" Another step. "If I were a kalona or a skin walker, you'd be dead by now." Vasilissa looked him over, from the top of his antlers to his hooves. He was quite handsome; that's for sure. A shame she was holding out for a prince. Stretching her back and followed his line of sight and smiled. "They're beautiful, aren't they?" She breathed in heavily, taking in the fresh scents. "Even more beautiful up close."

"What?" He looked a bit taken back. He looked at her, she was very nice looking. Haughty, interesting. He smiled, "Oh yes. The mountains...the sea...the water. It's all just glorious. I'm going there one day." He nodded his head, the lights on his antlers flickering and moving as he turned his head to face her. "I'm Bedford."

Vasilissa smiled. "Vasilissa. Lissa for short if you'd prefer." She gazed at his lights, eyes twinkling as she grinned like a foal presented with a sugar cube. "They're lovely." Turning to look back at the scenary, Lissa shifted a little. "Why not go now?"

Bedford nodded, "Don't be sad. Of course I will! I'll see the world, I just can't now. I'm the protector of the herd. I just can't leave now or whenever I want, I have to give notice--find someone to take care of them while I'm gone. I have responsibilities. But I will go, someday." For now there was no doubt in his mind that one day, would indeed come.
