Turag loosened his wings to cover his sides as much as he could. Late fall came and nights were colder. He looked at the clouded sky asking himself when was the last time he saw the sun. Few days ago perhaps? If only they would pour out the rain, finish the job they were made for and leave. Slowly walking towards the forest Turag hoped to find some shelter from the wind blowing across the plains. It wasn't so strong as it was during the day but it was colder. And for the first time in a long while Turag wished he was part of herd where he could share warmth with others. Suddenly just before he would enter the forest passing the first trees a white ball fell on his nose. Turag looked at it while it melted away. 'It can't be. Or could it really be...' He looked at the sky once more and yes it was really snowing first with few small snowflakes and them more and more with bigger and bigger ones. 'First snow this year.' He let it cover him while looking it's dance before it would meet with the ground.

It was cold. The sun had been hiding behind the clouds for the past few days, never showing her bright shining face. White slowly fell from the sky in tuffs, covering the ground in its cold delight. A grey mare, who’s coat matched the color of storm clouds smiled as the small snowflakes landed on her warm body; her breath was clearly visible due to the cold air.
“How did that song go?
‘Ol’ stallion winter came knocking on my door. He brought with him white snow that covered the shore. The little foals played, all night and day Waiting for their parents to say Old Stallion Winter has come to stay. Happy laughter filled the air Causing all those around to smile and stare. Winter has come for all who care, It’s a wonderful time we all share.’ “
Isabliss smiled, winter was the time of dreams, for the world changed into something magical; a world filled with snow and wonder. The Angeni mare paused in front of the forest, looking over the land that was sprinkled with fresh snow. It reminded her of happier times; her eyes became clouded as she went back to those years when her mother was still smiling.

Turag heard silent voice not to far from him. It was a soft sound that appealed to him, sweet melodic sound of a song and he followed it slowly to it's owner. Slowly a silhouette of angeni emerged from snow wall that shielded it from curious looks. The closer he got to it better he saw and found that it was mare with distant look in her eyes. With a soft smile he spoke.
'' That was lovely song. ''

Startled out of her memories, the Angeni looked up at the Soquili and smiled. The stallion in front of her had wings like she did, but they were different in appearance, for he only had two, while she had four. Snow fell all around them, covering the two Soquili in its frosty blanket. Everything was different when the snow fell, it was a whole new world.
“Why thank you. My mother used to sing it to me…. Have you ever heard of it? I cannot ever seem to remember the last verse…maybe you can help me?”

'' No. I'm sorry but I'm afraid I never heard that song. ''
And for a moment Turag wished he knew it more than anything. He had a great respect for Angeni race for they were pure hearted. Wiser than any other soquili kin could ever be even it in's oldest years. Perfection everyone should tend to achieve to gain enlightenment and gain knowledge beyond every imagination one ordinary mortal could have. At least that is whet he has been told.
''Actually I never had pleasure of hearing any songs till now. ''
This wasn't first time Turag has seen Angeni but it was first time he came close to one to actually be able to communicate with it. And he was glad that it was one with such beauty as this mare posses.
'' Oh, I do apologize for my lack of manners. I did forget to introduce my self, haven't I? ''
Turag lightly bowed his head.
'' My name is Turag. Might I ask about you're? ''

“I know many songs and I can teach them to you if you wish? I find that knowing them helps with the long journeys that lay ahead.” Isabliss smiled at the stallion in front of her, it had made her sad and a little surprised that he had never heard a song sung before that moment, but in a way she was glad that she was a part of his first song. For years songs had pulled her out of her loneliness and kept her company on her long travels to lands that she had only heard about as a foal. In the new places, new songs were heard and committed to memory, ready to be used when the time came.
“Oh, I believe we are both at fault for the lack of manners, it has been awhile since I have conversed with another Soquili.” Three full moons past, I believe, she thought to herself, too long of a time in my quiet wandering solitude.
The grey Angeni bowed her head in turn, “It is a pleasure meeting you. I am called Isabliss.”

'' That is lovely name. ''
Turag was surprised by Isabliss's offer to teach him how to sing. It would be a great honor to be Angeni's student no matter what the subject of teaching is. Still he wondered if he was up to the task for he never tried to sing before.
'' I would be delighted to learn if you would like to teach me. I'm only not sure if I'll know how to sing. ''
It was just now that he realized they were covered with snow. It left chilly fell on his skin and he thought it could be good idea to take some shelter between trees. He looked at the sky and the land. How quickly it changed. Looks like there won't be any stars shining this night on the sky. What a shame for stars were brightest and most beautiful in winter. He turned his look back to Isabliss.
'' Shall we take some cover between the trees so we don't get turned into snow figures? ''

“Thank you.”
Isabliss watched him as he pondered her offer; he appeared to be so kind and wise. A stallion who could do anything he set his mind to… like singing.
“You may not think that you cannot sing, but I believe you can,” her eyes became glazed over as she continued on with her next words, “Do you ever have a feeling and you cannot put it to words, but in some way you discover that you can express yourself in words and it gives you a great feeling of joy, along with the feeling of a certain emotion? That is how singing feels.” Her eyes returned to the clarity they were before she went into a daze.
She shook herself of the snow that rested on her back; it fell to the ground and created piles on the freshly fallen snow laden ground under her. “I do believe that already happened,” she gazed at the stallion standing before her, he was now completely white. Isabliss inclined her head ever so slightly, indicating that she will follow him to the cover of the trees.

'' I think I understand what you are thinking of. ''
This must be how birds feel when they sing for they cannot speak but they can express they're feelings by singing. And he admits that there were times when he couldn't express what he felt in that particular moment. So he would try to explain it but it could never satisfy him in full and there would always be something that was left unsaid. To be able to say something through song, some things that just couldn't be said by words, seemed like something of great value to him. Still one would have to be a really good singer to be able to transfer his feelings through song to others. And for a moment he envied the birds for being born with that talent.
Turag followed Isabliss's example first stretching his wings and than shaking of rest of the snow. Taking a lead towards trees he inspected what lie in front of them searching for some evergreen trees since all the others all ready lost most of they're leaves and wouldn't be too great protection from the snow that was falling thicker and thicker.
'' I do hope we find some evergreen trees soon. Although I don't doubt that we would make lovely snow sculptures. ''

Isabliss smiled at her blue winged companion, he was different than that of the others that she has talked to, but she was unable to place why. Perhaps he was the first wind that she has ever come across?
Thick puffy snowflakes fall to the ground, making the snowy mounds at the two soquili’s hooves gain in height. The two of them walked into the cover of the forest; branches were bent at odd angles because of the weight of the snow that rested upon them. Some branches were unable to withstand the weight of the frozen water and snapped, dropping its load onto the already snow blanketed forest floor.
Watching her wings as she walked through the forest, careful not to knock the snow on the branches, she laughed, “I would prefer not to become a sculpture, but you are right, it would be a lovely sight to those who saw. Freshly fallen snow as it sparkles in the sun…except the part about us being frozen.” She gave a small smile as she looked over at Turag, and together they walked slowly deeper into the woods, the trees became thicker and the branches became sturdier, finally there was a tree that had less snow of the others, it seemed like the best place to stay out of the heavy falling snow.
“Would this a good spot to stay out of the snow?”

Turag smiled and nodded to angeni's words. It most certainly would not be fun to be frozen and surely not pleasant. Deeper they went into woods lesser snow and wind troubled they're progress and it seemed as it was warmer. Turag looked at the tree Issablis mentioned. It wasn't too big but it's evergreen coat of needles promised that snow won't bother them one they are under it. And thought the first branches were quite low there was enough place for both of them.
'' Yes I believe it would be perfect. ''
As they came closer to the tree Turag noticed that the ground beneath it was covered with moss. Not to bad. No snow and soft ground. Turag stopped to let Issablis take a best place.
'' After you. ''
Looking at the surrounding he spotted few more smaller evergreen trees that surrounded the one they decide to make they're shelter. They're branches were positioned even lover and almost touched ground. This made a nice barrier on the exact side the wind was blowing from. Which means no wind under the tree . Unless the wind changes it's direction that is.

“Thank you.” She gave a small smile to the wind standing next to her.
The snow crunched beneath her hooves as it was packed deeper into the earth. She slowly walked over the freshly fallen snow to the bed of moss on the forest floor; she moved closer to the tree to give Turag some room. It was warmer under the protection of the trees and the moss on the ground created a warm blanket of space between the frozen earth and the two soquili’s hooves.
It was perfect, the wind chill could not reach them and it created a new world inside of the world of winter. Isabliss turned her head to look at the blue wind next to her.
“This is nice; the beauty of winter seen and in the comfort of warmth. Do you know what is so spectacular about winter? It appears so dark and chilling, but it is the harbinger of new beginnings, life, and spring. The long nights of winter start to shorten and day becomes longer and summer begins. Then it all happens again, always more spectacular than the last… I apologize, I seem to be rambling.” A soft pink blush started to form on her cheeks.

When he found a comfortable place under the tree branches Turag looked at the scenery that surrounded them. Everything seemed so perfect and white snow already covered they're tracks behind them. He listened to Isabliss speak about winter and her words seemed to change the way winter itself looked in his eyes. Till now he would only see it as time in the year when everything that could hibernate took a shelter from winters cold and deadly hand in sleep. It was time when it was hard to find food and even harder to find a good shelter from the cold. Still her words held bit of truth about winter and made it look beautiful instead of dangerous. Turag turned his head to look at Isabliss as she stopped speaking.
'' No. Please, don't apologize. ''
He noticed she blushed and wondered was it because of the cold. Yes low temperatures must be the right answer. So he decided not to ask but only to smile.
'' You're... rumbling... does give an interesting point of view on winter that I never thought of. So if you would like to continue I would love to listen to what you have to say. ''

As the snow fell outside the warmth of the protection of the trees, Isabliss smiled at Turag.
“Winter makes the earth change. A land that you one believed you knew, becomes a new world, a new territory. In my travels I came across a land covered in snow throughout the year; nothing was as awe-inspiring as seeing a giant waterfall frozen in ice for all eternity. The people there never frowned; they were constantly happy, always smiling and wanting to help those around them. Never once, while I was there, did they show the strain winter causes on many,” her gaze become loving as she remembered the people she met in that cold land.
Slowly she came back to the present, “Sir Turag, do you have a favorite season? Or a favorite place in the world that you have been to and wish with all your heart to return?”
Her gaze stayed upon him as she completely took him in for the first time. His markings were amazing, spirals twisting around his legs and the zigzag necklace around his neck. They appeared tribal in certain ways, but she was not completely sure. Her curiosity peeked, but she held it back, not wanting to appear to prying.

((*giggles* that zig-zag thing on his neck is necklace))
'' Land that is covered with snow throughout the year? ''
This was something Turag heard of but couldn't imagine for himself. And people living there even harder. When snow covers everything in winter it is hard to find any food and spring must come so that new could grow. What could they eat if there is no spring and sumer for food to mature?
'' And there are people living there? Happy people? But how do they survive? What do they eat? ''
He also heard of land where summer lasts throughout the year. And that is was so hot there that land was turned into sand and nothing could grow on dunes. Still people there had something called oases where springs of fresh cool water gave life to wasted land.
And even though Turag could hardly believe mare's story her gaze made him wish to see all that she has described with his own eyes.
'Sir? Did she say sir to him?' This was the first time anyone gave him a title. It was true that this title was given to him by angeni and even though they are one of the most wisest Turag didn't feel he deserved such honor. At least not yet. He smiled softly as he repeated her words in his mind 'Sir Turag'.
'' Although I am honored to be called Sir I am afraid I do not deserve that title... just yet. ''
Though he did hope to one day wear it proudly. But it has to be earned by his good unselfish deeds and brave actions. Still he has to be careful to not loose his kind heart. He saw this happen to too many good stallions. Sure they still were nobel and helped others but in the same time they held themselves as more important than the others. As if with the achievement of they're goal they were on the higher level and modesty was a word to them they seemed to forgot exists.
'' My favorite season? That would be summer. ''
He closed his eyes while he tried to remember all the details and smells he came across in the warmest and most plentiful season of the year.
'' There is no fear of freezing in the night and food is ripe and sweet. Water brings so needed cooling feeling to the skin. And foals are the most happiest. ''
He looked at Issablis again while his smile faded slowly.
'' As for my favorite place... I don't have one. At least none of those I have visited had something special I would hold so dear to my heart that it would pull me back. ''
