Vasilissa was exhausted, to say the least. She'd been travelling for a day and a half now, to the teepee of a herd she knew nothing about and was visiting on a whim. She'd heard a rumour that the old leader there - retired to give the title to her daughter - was an incredible leader and so Lissa had set to seek her out for advice. Lissa paused, running over the directions in her mind again. If she was correct, she was just outside the border of their lands. "Perhaps I should wait to be noticed," she whispered to herself, trying to decide an action. "That could take a while and I hate to think of what Timothy is doing to Valentino.." She walked into the area, looking for the teepee or anyone around who could point her in the right direction.

The morning had come and gone like every other morning did, she set about grazing whilst her daughter had moved around the herd checking if everything was alright. Her eyes took to the bright rays of the sun that was lingering down over the land of Eden, it's emerald forests gleaming brightly, with the faint flowing of the waterfall by the back edge of their home whisking around in the wind. Her ears flickered gently, elegantly crossing in to the shade of the trees. She watched as her children did their own thing, her beloved mate no doubt spending the short time of Alex's stay with him and catching up.
She knew she wouldn't be intruding but liked to let everyone have the quality time that was needed between themselves. The shadows were moving wildly, stretching far out in front of her but never leaving the shade the trees brought. Unlike her son who also shared the same dark eyes, she knew their meanings and antics all too well. As one broke out, almost touching her front hoof, she closed her eyes, listening to the wind as a breeze brushed her mane and tail around her frame. They were not alone. At last, she searched across her family and herd for the notice, lastly looking to the long cave that lead from the mountain path in to the crater where Eden resided; a figure stood there, looking lost. Or rather, looking for something.
Usually, greeting visitors would be the alpha's job, but as she had been discretely notified, she took it upon herself to approach the new mare. A pleasant smile creased her lips as she worked her way across the plains, stretching out her wings in the light she came to a stop before her. Bowing her head politely.
"Welcome to the land of Eden." She spoke gently, lifting her head so the dark sockets could meet the eyes of the mare. "My name is Taharial. Who's presence may I be blessed with?"

Once Lissa finally calmed, knowing she'd found the place she was looking for, she was finally able to take in her surroundings. It was breathtaking - literally, Lissa's breath hitching in her throat as she gasped. While she was proud of her little piece of land, she was a little embarrassed when she compared it to here. She chastised herself; that wasn't a fair thing to do. Her lands were small, but they were beautiful in their own way and one day people would come to see its beauty. Just like one day leaders would come to her for advice, instead of the other way around.
Lissa sighed, shaking her head as doubt creeped into her mind. What if this herd wasn't as good as she thought. What if they used her weaknesses against her in the end? Would they laugh at her; turn her away? A groan escaped parted lips and she almost turned to leave when she was approached by a mare; as breathtaking as the land she lived in.
"My name is Vasilissa," she bowed her head low. "I come seeking advice from a leader. Anything that will help me lead my own herd as best as possible." Lissa spoke with as authoritative voice as possible, trying to conceal her doubt and fears; most of all, however, she tried to hide her shame.

The pleasant smile never once left the angeni's lips as Vasilissa spoke of her business here. In Eden, no one even needed a reason, so long as they were pure in heart, mind and soul. The mare was very pretty, made up of purple hues and long, thick pink hair woven in to a neat braid. The unihorn showed a heritage before her that was one of respect, even as she stood there asking for advice, there was no doubt that already showed much promise.
She spoke in an authoritative tone, which gave her the impression she must of been of a good upbringing or nerves had gotten the best of her. Taharial however was not one to judge, but to accept. Sometimes her own family took such formality as they spoke but it always faltered, seeing that side was more admirable.
She chuckled gently, nodding in reply to her wishes. " I passed on my duty as Alpha to my darling daughter, Neria who now leads our herd. I may be growing older but, I can offer you all the advice you need. Any questions, assistance. I would be more than happy to help with." Her smile became much more warmer as she slid to the new comers side, turning as she out stretched one of her wings to rest on Lissa's back and neck to lead her across the plain as she started to walk. "Feel free to make yourself at home here."

Lissa felt her nerves wash away when Eden seemed to accept her and understand her business. She finally believed she was on the right track and that she could lead. She was trying afterall; wasn't she? That showed promise.
But - she held in her sigh for while she believed she was among friends it wasn't leader-like to show weakness - there was still that shadow of doubt lingering in the back of her mind. While she was trying to learn, she feared she would not be able to understand.
Lissa watched her father rule and she longed to be the leader he was. Respected, wise and powerful. She would have been, too, had he not been murdered. Power struggles among the lesser herds - she wasn't sure if she'd be able to handle that.
Mentally kicking herself out of her thoughts, Lissa heard Eden speak and felt a wing rest on her back. She walked with Eden and began to speak. "I fear that I am not enough, that I do not have what it takes to lead. But I don't know what I need. My father was a great leader, but I was just a foal when he ruled. I did not understand. Please, anything you can teach me would be greatly appreciated." Lissa bowed her head.

Taharial slowly nodded her head, her dark sockets taking to the path before them, as they steadied themselves down the hill the herd could be seen. She turned her head to Vasilissa and smiled warmly. Her questions were very good and she was to the point, on both her struggles and what she needed. She could see a lot of independence within the young mare as she slowed and came to a halt in their walk.
"Everybody holds a certain a mount of fear. Mentally fear can be our own torchure, it can lead to blind decisions and result of the downfall in your own being however in our fear, it can also make you do things that show leadership, you do not have time to linger on the doubt and without that doubt you are free. To be someone, to get to the place your aiming for you have to try, you have to learn at your own pace. Whether that be fast or slow. If you're pressed with a decision, one that brings a lot of responsibility upon your shoulders then do not cower or break to it. Take a step back and take a deep breath because the answer will be there but in our panic, our thoughts fade out of view." She paused, scanning the mare. She had sparked old memories in her words, from what it was like having to choose between family and the one you loved, to be a new parent, to find a home all over again but they had managed to learn, she was lucky she had Jo there beside her, he had a lot of knowledge and it showed how naive she had been most of her youth.
"There will be a lot of hard decisions in life, I will not lie to you." She closed her eyes letting the delicate breeze take her, the whispers of the world floating carefully through her ears. "You have to believe that you can do it, if you keep going even when it seems tough, or you regret a choice you have made, keep moving forward because for your efforts the spirits will reward you. Perhaps you will not notice them." She chuckled. "But those rewards will be there. They say the small things in life are no comparison to the bigger things, but when you feel there isn't much left because, you will at some point; we all feel the negative energy some time in our lives, then they will be there for you when you need them most." She whispered, opening her eyes but squinting a little at the bright light above. She turned her head once more to the mare, so they were more shaded the light had always hurt her eyes, she believed it was because she were 'fallen' and it was a way of heaven turning away their return.
Taharial always gave a peaceful air, a mellow vibe that seemed to calm those around her, she never looked worried or troubled but she had been many times however she never burdened anyone with them, she just strived through them to get to the solution and as everyone learned, the imp's had put a lot of faith in the spirits over the years, in their God and the nature around them and it had paid off well. The selective few that chose to listen to their parents preeching at least.
"The world around you comes at a great advantage, not very many appreciate what it gives and they don't understand that it also has to take in return to keep the balance. It has given us food, ways to make shelters and homes, children, family and it can even guide us to love." She smiled. "It can also give you answers if you let it in but it takes a lot of time... Patience but if you're willing to learn, I can teach you how to accept it, how to connect with nature and to show the spirits your intentions are pure."
