The mer-stallion moved swiftly through the waters heading towards the shoreline. He was slowed only slightly by the sachel he carried around his neck. It had been some time since he'd last gone up to the beach. He'd come close to shore often, scaning the beach to see if anyone was there. Usually there was no one he recongnized if any at all and he'd sigh before ducking his head in shame and returning to the sea.
This time though he was determined to return to his usual routine. In pattern and color Ricaran resembled a red-tail boa and he had a snake-like enjoyment for basking in the sun. During his times on the beach he'd encountered a variety of other Soquili, including one unicorn that had come to mean a great deal to him. It was because of her however that he found it difficult to return. There had been some interesting changes in his life since their last meeting and he was afraid of how she'd take them.
He paused taking a moment to ensure his sachel and it's important contents were secure before swimming into the waves and riding them up to the beach. He settled himself on the wet sand where his tail was in enough water to keep him from drying out. The sachel was settled at his side and he stretched out to bask. More likely than not she would not show up this day or for days to come, but he had taken this first step to returning to life as he'd known it ... before he'd become a father.
