The doppleganger - Kami and Jahzara

Quote:
-The golden lioness stood among the grasses staring outwards. For the first time in ages her mind was lost in the serenity of her imagination. And like the days of her cubhood she silently pretended to be something that she was not.

In her mind she was just like everyone else, no royal blood or responsibility. Simply a lioness. Spending her days watching over the pride's young. Letting her play with that imagination.

Sighing a little softly, a sound of contentment with her daydream, she padded forward, making her way through the grasses in a soft daze.-

Like her cousin, Jahzara was lost in the confines of her mind, but for very different reasons. Slowly but surely, the golden lioness was recovering from her illness, a fever illness that'd spanned quite a while. From the end of her days as a juvenile till recently, she'd been wandering around in a stupor not quite sure what to believe was real and what wasn't. It was like she was awakening for the first time in a long, long while, surprised to see herself grown as an adult now, and not the child she remembered herself to be.

Her eyes viewed the world around her, the lands she'd been born in, but with a new lease on life. She'd missed so much, so so much... It was in this state that she neared Kami, without entirely realizing another was nearby.

-The daydream was a welcome reprieve from the pain and thoughts that'd filtered upon the new queen as of late. And she almost bypassed the nearly mirroring figure as she slid through the grasses, stopping only to wonder when the golden pelt and auburn tail tuft struck her mind.

Could it be Zuri? Her daugther? She hadn't really caught a good look, only a tiny glimpse of the family colors through the grasses. And softly her dreams dissapated as the pelt did not.

If it was Zuri.. perhaps it was best she didn't near her.. But then...

Curiousity got the better of Kami and slowly she slunk through the grasses, hoping to sneak a better peek at the golden lioness.-

The largish lioness held her ears down while in thought, wondering how much of her life she'd truly missed. Walking around as if in a daze wasn't fit for a princess, as she saw herself, being of firekin royalty as well as tied to the prideland royalty through her mother, but what was one SUPPOSED to do when they realized half their life had come and gone? Jahzara looked to the sky for a moment, wrinkling her nose as the stillness around her. Flicking the tip of her auburn tail, she sighed, plunking her rump down in a rather unbecoming fashion. She was tired, kinda hungry and, though she hated to say it, rather lost. She'd been avoiding pride rock, keeping it in her sights, but keeping her distance as well. Pride rock meant her family was there, and what would they think of her, having been gone so long? She didn't even know if her family even still thought of her, for that matter. Another huge sigh eminated from her hunched shoulders and she lowered her head to stare at a rock between her paws. She certainly didn't feel like a princess or even a daughter at the moment, she felt like a stranger on the outside, looking through the window to a warm and happy life.

-When finally her eyes settled upon the lioness, they widened softly. This lioness was older, and didn't carry the yellow that Zuri did.. however the resemblance was uncanny. She looked even more like Kami then any of her siblings had, and for a moment Kami was silent in awe. Pondering over where this doppleganger could have come from.

Her normal shyness was pressed aside for curiousity, and as the other golden lioness sat, she drew nearer, until her head peeked from the grasses, and softly her voice called out. A sound more remincent of childish wonder then anything, at this unknown relative.- "Who.. who are you?"

I'm on the outside, I'm lookin' in...
I can see through you, see your true colors...
Cuz inside you're ugly. ugly like me
I can see through you, see to the real you...

It was like looking in a mirror. Stripped of her markings, this lioness was like seeing herself for the first time. The eye color differences never registered to Jahzara. Horrifed that she might be slipping back into sickness once more, Mwali's daughter stood slightly and backpedaled a bit away from Kami, her face etched with fear and horror. To Jahzara, it was like a bad dream. Herself come to haunt her for whatever reason, for abandoning her brothers and sisters and parents. Her thoughts becoming tangible and coming to remind her of her wrong-doings.

"I-i..." Her raspy voice, ragged from misuse, was unable to form the words she needed to reply. Although, if it had been able to do so, she wouldn'tve known what to say in the first place. What does one say to a vision of themselves, anyhow? Backing up another step or two, Jahzara didn't see the rock that tripped her up. Landing hard on her backside, her tail cushioning her slightly, the lioness stared up towards Kami in embarassed silence.

-Her ears twitched a little softly, expression changing to soft worry as the other lioness began to back, and suddenly that wave of common guilt was washing over the golden queen. What'd she done? To upset the lioness so?

Afterall, the lioness was the one to steal her colors!

But almost immediately her expression changed once more, a look of soft concern touching her as the other took her tumble, and she hazzarded another step forward.- "I'm sorry.. I didn't mean to startle you.."

No, this couldn't be a vision of herself. If it was, it would have been berating her with all the troubles that plagued her. This lioness before her was too polite to be anything of herself.

Laying her ears back slightly in shame for her reaction, though an air of unsurity held fast in her eyes, Jahzara hung her head before the lioness. "I... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have reacted like that. I..." Turning her head off to the side, Jaz all but mumbled. "... thought you were someone else."

Emerald eyes shifted to her paws, unable to bring to mind what a proper greeting might be. Just like her voice, her manners and common traits had withered away from ill-use.

"Someone else?" -There were others that looked like her too? I mean yes.. the golden pelt was something common in the Pridelands.. but usually others had more.. not her most common of boring pelts, minus any adornments. Even this lioness had something, that she could see now that she was nearer. And curiousity got the better of her, eating over her politeness and usual shyness.-

"My name is Kamilika. First daughter of Mufasa and Sarabi. And..." -She paused softly, thinking on the words before finally just blurting them, unable to think of a right way to say them.- "And you look an awful lot like I do."

The named sounded familiar in her mind, but she couldn't place where she'd heard them before. Jaz's still illness clogged mind refused to spit out the proper information just yet. Confusion was evident in her eyes, but she nodded politely, up until she'd realized Kami had said she looked a lot like her. Laying her ears back slightly and staring at the ground, Jahzara tried to form some sort of response to explain that, though she didn't quite know what to say, herself.

"My name is Jahzara, daughter of Koho and Mwali." It was the best she could offer up. If this was a pridelander, she would likely know of, if not actually know Jaz' parents herself. And if Kami didn't know the names, that was alright too. She thought it almost might be better if the other lioness didn't know them, so she wouldn't have to explain why she'd been gone for so long...

-The firekin male hadn't really been one to stick in the queen's mind other then vague recognition, but she most certainly remembered the mother, her eyes widening softly.- "Aunty Koho? I thought she'd left to firekin lands with her mate..."

-Kami trailed softly in thought. She'd never seen her aunt again.. since that time.. nor had the golden lioness been there for the sad news when her brother, the king fell. But she'd had children? And she'd come back? Or atleast the babies had?

She wondered how much younger this Jahzara was, but even now the fact of relation skated from her mind, and so chirped pleasantly dispite the other lioness' more somber actions.- "Well no wonder we look so alike then! Koho and my father looked rather alike themselves as well. It's a pleasure to meet you Jahzara."

Auntie Koho? Then this one was related.... It was at the same moment Kami had stated that they looked alike, that it clicked with Jahzara that because they were related, that was why they it looked like Jaz was seeing a mirror image of herself. Still, she was unsure of how to act, suddenly knowing that this was family in front of her. "I... I- Pleasure to meet you too Kamilika. You know my mother?"

It came to her that it didn't seem that Kami knew of her mother's current whereabouts, with the comment about how she'd left to the firekin lands. Then that meant no one was around.... Well, at least Kami wouldn't be mad with her for leaving her family like she had. "I'm sorry, I probably seem attle-brained. I've not seen my family since.. I don't remember when. I've been wandering inside these lands, just at the borders for a while." Tilting her head slightly to look towards the ground, Jahzara's paw shook slightly as she tried to think for a moment. "I got really sick... and wandered away from them. I don't remember much other than seeming to waken from a cloudy stupor as an adult. I haven't seen anyone in a long time...." Looking towards priderock in the distance, the emerald eyed doppleganger of Kami tried to make sense of things enough to try and explain to her relation... "You're my cousin?" It was truly beginning to dawn on her who the lioness was, even if she didn't know the lioness' position within the pride.

-Nodding softly, a smile worked it's way to her maw, her mind dipping back to pleasant memories of the past, something she'd found hard to do in the past few days.- "Oh yes, she looked after us a bit. Back when I was little she was the only nanny there was, and she watched us when mother was resting..."

-Softly she listened, her features turning to soft concern however. Her mother's sickness had been something Kami had seen all her life, something she noticed only when others pointed it out. And now as this.. mysterious relation spoke of her own illness, she couldn't help but feel that soft pain inside of her.- "That must have been horrible... and scary."

"When things were worst for me.. and I thought that nothing would be right again I was visited by a goddess... Perhaps you had one watching over you as well. To help you find family once again."

-And despite as weird or rushed as it may have seemed to the poor lioness, it only felt natural for Kami to try and dout on the solitary family she had in the land. And lightly her gaze drifted to the rocks in the far distance.- "Would you maybe like to rest? Until you're feeling better and all. Wandering around while you're sick, or getting over it can't be very safe."

Shaking her head slightly, Jahzara looked to Kami. "It might've been scary, but not too much so, I can't remember any of it. Just.... dreams. That's all I remember are dreams..." Wrinkling her nose, she thought on whether a goddess was watching over her or not. It was doubtful, no goddess or god in their right mind would've watched over someone as her, leaving her family when they, and she needed them most of all. But she left that thought alone. This was family, some form of it anyway, and not some stranger. At least that counted for something, right?

"I..." her eyes aimed towards priderock once more. "A rest would be nice." she confided, unwilling to truly turn down such a lovely offer. "If you think it's alright, that is..." Jaz' words were hesitant, as if she were unsure whether it would be allowed of her.

-Dreams... Kami wondered softly if her dreams had been the same tearing and scary dreams that her mate had had in the past. The dreams that'd holed him into that tiny cave as a mass of nothingness until she'd came to find him. Had this poor lioness... Jazhara.. had she too been in such a state of dismay? If only she knew how much like her family she truely was.. atleast from Kami's point of view.

But she tried to atleast keep a look of mild pleasantness on her face, and not let the worry in her mind tug at her golden features. Ears twitching gently with the soft words, Kami simply nodded, auburn tail tip flicking, just as her father's had used to, strong and decisive.- "Of course you're welcome. Everyone is welcome in the pridelands. But family.. family are even more so."

-Lifting herself lightly, she stalled, habit touching her as she waited to see if the other lioness needed assitance, so used to offering it with her mother in her later days.-

Jahzara smiled at Kami genuinely greatful to the other lioness for her hospitality. Jaz had always believed herself a princess, and acted like a spoiled one, and yet, having been sick and lost so much of herself, a bit of kindness was not lost on her. Besides family was family, right? "I thank you." Bowing her head slightly, the golden lioness stood up, slightly shaky still from having stumbled and fallen back, as well as from the illness she'd gone through. It would be a while before her strength fully returned, but she wasn't completely invalid. Turning around, she rubbed the offended tail she had landed on, she nodded to Kami, ready to head forward.

"I take it, you haven't seen any of my family in a while?" A lame comment, but the closest she could offer to small talk for the walk.

-She watched softly, but despite a few wobbles and falters, the golden lioness seemed well enough in her step, and softly Kami took up the lead instead, pulling herself just a step or so ahead. It was easier to talk when you didn't have to look at the other person, something Kami had learned early on.

And though Jazhara wasn't necessarily scary, or that intimidating, Kami fell into her comfort anyway now that she was ahead, letting her words flow a little more freely.- "I'm afraid I haven't really.. The last I saw of them was when I was only a child. When they headed back off to the Firekin lands."

-Shruging her shoulders gently, she added lightly.- "However... I did do quite a bit of traveling with my father, and then a little on my own not long ago. So it's possible I just missed them?" -Lame perhaps, but hope was always a good thing. Kami knew how painful it was to lose parents now... and with most of her family scattered.. she wouldn't wish that on anyone. Let alone this piece of family that had been thrown her way.-

Jahzara nodded, contemplating this information. It was possible they'd come back and left again, if they'd been travelling for some time. And with the vast size of the pridelands, it was likely that some of her siblings could be hiding without knowledge of their presence. It was surely a miracle Kami had come upon her, as she'd been in the pridelands, but more towards the outskirts than anything, and had hardly seen a soul that she could remember, during her illness.

"I... appreciate your hospitality and willingness to guide me home..." She was nervous, using the word home, but surely that's what it was. "I didn't expect to have stumbled across anyone, let alone family." Jaz was slightly uncomfortable, not with Kami's presence, but with her own inability to be able to talk, or make conversation. Having not done so in so long... the skill seemed rather lost on her. But, she would have to get over it if she were to become part of a family once more.

"I wouldn't be following my father's teaching if I didn't.." -It was a soft statement, an obvious pain lying beneath the words. But they were sincere as well.

Perhaps it was a little selfish of the golden queen.. to want to cling so hard to this lingering piece of family despite the discomfort that it might cause for the recovering lioness. But her mind was already convincing her that it was for the best. And perhaps it was?

If she got better, grew comfortable once again then perhaps she'd be happy? It was a far better life then simply living in a haze in the roguelands.

Watching the rocks draw closer and larger as they walked, Kami hazzarded softly.- "Perhaps once you're feeling better you can decide if you'd like to stay here more permanantly? No matter where I traveled back when I was younger, there was no place I wanted to be more then here again."

A soft nod from Jahzara showed her understanding and gratefulness for the fact that Kami was leading her home. Home... that was a foreign word on her mind, she'd never really considered anything in particular as 'home' before. The idea was strange, and yet, it almost felt right. She belonged here, same as anyone else, perhaps more so because she was family, right? Still, even the word family was an odd concept for her. It would take some getting used to, for sure. By the by, it was better to stick with family, than to free-fall in a life of rogue-hood with nothing to show for anything.

Bowl-shaped ears swiveled forward and slightly to the side, picking up Kami's voice clearly. She was being invited to live out her years here, to be able to call this place home for as long as she'd like. It had been almost like Kami had read her current thoughts. "I think it's a good idea... I don't see myself leaving anytime soon. Perhaps others will end up wandering back as well?" The tone was hopeful, though it was obvious Jaz wasn't sure any of them would return. Heaven's only knew what'd gone on with the rest of her family by now. "I think I can decide now, that I will stay, here in the pridelands with you, my cousin, for as long as you'll have me." The golden lioness offered her doppleganger a bit of a smile, easily seen if Kami glanced over her shoulder.

Wolf! - Hadaya, Kami, and Amaterasu

Quote:
Why does it have to be so hot? Amaterasu thought as she arduously wandered about, searching for any respite from the sun. Despite the cursed heat that had closed its jaws around the land, it was a beautiful sight. The grass was tall and inviting, and the slight breeze was a life-saver. It had been an eternity since she had seen such beautiful place. Her silver eyes slowly scanned the horizon to take it all in. Off in the distance, a gigantic rock jutted skyward, making her wonder if this had been the place she had been searching for. She had heard of such a rock... If her memory served her right, it was home to many lions and other creatures all living harmony. Not only that, but so many long years ago, she remembered her mother talking about it as if it was a land of magic, even saying that the animals that dwelled there shared a common belief with her family. Amaterasu couldn't imagine any better way to live. She had been searching for this very place ever since her meeting with Usu, who had given her a new spark of determination to find her place, and she was sure it was here. However, very few creatures were very welcoming to a wandering wolf, and her spirits sunk a little. She paused to think about the land, and decided that if she could make it in, this would be a perfect place for her to raise a family and everything. She sat, and dared not enter without permission from the ruler of the lands, but also dared not move from the borders. She whined over her private miserable situation, laid her head on her paws, and thought of how long she could survive on the outskirts of the gorgeous lands.
-A wide yawn spread Hadaya's creme muzzle, eyes squinting shut against the brightness, as she made her way through the grasslands. Her thoughts drifted softly to the events of recent and to the future, mind flipping through thoughts like pages in a book.

Truely her time had come, the thing that she'd trained for was about to come true.. but not quite yet. Sighing softly to the picture of her golden queen grieving alone among the rocks, she paused for a moment. It was what she wanted.. and it wasn't the time to push her into doing queenly things she didn't want to. But still.. she felt so helpless. No advice worth giving.. no words to make better the pain that rippled through her companion.

Trying to brush the thoughts aside Hadaya began to run, grass whipping at her sides as she tore through the savvanah and towards the outer lands. If her mind would only give her painful thoughts, then she just needed to not think for awhile.-

Amaterasu's thoughts were broken when she heard grass stems snapping at a quick pace a short ways away. A concerned look spread across her face and she wondered if whatever it was big enough to hurt her. She listened closer and realized it was coming away from that big rock. She had to ask it to help her get in; this might be her only chance! She popped up from the grass so quickly that she was just a blur of black and white and gave a yip. She only hoped it was loud enough for the brown animal to hear. Once she stopped moving, she studied it again with her eyes; a wolf. She bounced happily after the wolf, hoping that she would be able to get into the lands with its aid.[/color
-Hadaya's blue eyes widened visably when her path was broken by the other wolf. Not an unpleased look persay, but obviously surprised.

Since her time in the Pridelands she'd seen what... two other wolves.. and one she'd pretty much lead in herself. This was a treat indeed. Well.. as long as the other female was friendly.. but she certainly didn't look intimidating or anything.

Interest immediately perking, she lifted her tail in a friendly manner, letting the dualy hued brown tail sway back and forth.- "Hello there!"

"Good day" Amaterasu said joyfully. Finally, life had looked up for her and given her a chance. She was certain now that this wolf would be able to help her; and she knew so little about Hadaya. "My name is Amaterasu, but you could call me Ammy for short if you would like," she said, oozing with politeness as she bowed her head. "I'm so sorry if I startled you! I was wondering, do you live over near that big rock?" She asked. She didn't know the land was named the Pridelands, nor did she know the rock was termed Pride rock, but she guessed they had some name, and she felt rather stupid for not knowing a better name than 'that big rock.' She continued to interrogate before the brown female had an opportunity to respond, "I've heard such wonderful things about the place... I truly would love to go check it out at the very least. Is that at all possible?"

-She'd been ready to offer her own name, when the flood of words spilled from the other wolf, and she couldn't help but laugh a little, taking a moment to pull the words apart.

Bowing her head in return she offered her name.- "Hadaya, nice to meet you." -Before her eyes turned skywards, and she nodded a little.- "Yeah, I live on the rocks actually."

-Ammy's excitement was infectious, and even though Hadaya barely knew this wolf, and had been heading in the other direction, she nodded in soft agreement.- "Sure you can come and see it. Everyone is allowed to wander about the pridelands freely. I can give you a tour if you like. There is a lovely view from the ledges."

"That would be wonderful!" Ammy said. She had completely regressed to puppyhood in her excitement. She hadn't really been in a community since she left her family. So much was falling into place as she had imagined it. She knew she would be able to find her niche here. If everyone in the Pridelands was like Hadaya, she knew she'd be able to make her home here easily. She started towards the borders, more than happy to have a guide.
-Taking up the lead, only a step or two ahead of being right alongside Ammy, Hadaya led the way into the familar lands, her eyes far more intersted in the ivory canine.- "There aren't many other wolves around, not that I've seen atleast. But there are alot of different things in the pridelands."

"Lions, jackels.. lots of food too." -Her tail sway as she led along.-

Ammy stayed a step or two behind Hadaya, listening intently. "All friendly, I presume?" she asked before she could stop herself. She was always a tad awkward around other species, but she was certain that this desenitization would be good for her.
"They supposed to be yes, it's a law of the land. To treat all pride members equally, no matter what species."

"Of course, everyone has their grumpy days, so you might not necessarily like everyone. But there are so many members, you'll have plenty to choose from."

-She laughed a little, letting her paws carry her towards the quickly growing rocks in the distance. And finally she asked a question of her own.- "What about you? Where did you come from? Like I said, I don't see many wolves out here."

"I'm from far far away... I don't even know in which direction, I've wandered so long," Ammy replied with a slight chuckle. "I kind of miss my family, but I needed to get out of there. They lived in such a small world," Ammy said, staring at the big rocks. They truly were huge, even bigger the closer you got. She was amazed that such a big structure (if one could call it that) existed. It gave her a rush inside. Returning to the topic of conversation, she continued, "This is a much bigger world. The bigger it gets, the more I'm pleased with it." Ammy was almost happy to be one of very very few wolves here. She didn't really understand the feeling, it's just how she felt.

"Well I can understand that." -Hadaya's smile widened softly, her mood lifted simply by the enthusiasm and apparent youth of the wolf in tow. And as they drew near enough to the rocks for them to tower far above she paused in her tracks, asking softly.- "Would you like to go up? Or would you like me to bring the queen down to you?"
Amaterasu couldn't even imagine being regal enough to actually have a queen be brought to her. Ammy was just a wanderer thus far, and really wanted to go up the rocks herself. "I'd love to go up," Ammy said, craning her head to see if she could even spot the top. She couldn't. She started to grow nervous, slowly. She'd never seen a real queen before. You've got to be strong to go talk to this queen.Ammy thought to herself as she kept a step or two behind Hadaya. No jitterbugs, she's probably no different from any other lion. Amaterasu's thoughts calmed her enough to cover up the slight nervousness, and she continued on.
-Nodding softly, Hayada lept forward, settling on one stone before she leapt to another, offering down a few words of warning, along with a mild grin.- "Make sure you land on each stone as close to the middle as possible. Our claws make it a little harder to climb the rocks."

-And gently she lead, peeking back to make sure the ivory wolf still followed without trouble.-

-From atop the rock, the lioness lounged gently in the sunlight, almost asleep as she let the sun warm her pelt.

Ears twitching softly as the familar soft tap of claws rattled against the rocks, she opened her eyes, waiting for the form of her advisor to touch her sight.-

Amaterasu's paws met the first rock with perfect ease, however, when she lept, her claws slipped and she clumsily flopped onto the next rock. Saying nothing, she shook her head and got up. More carefully this time, she lept to the next rock. The rest of the way she handled gracefully. She glanced upward and saw a golden pelt just in sight on top of the main rock that jutted out from the rest. That's the queen, no doubt. Ammy thought. She knew it had to be a lionness, but every lion she had met thus far had been kind. She continued on up, keeping behind Hadaya.
-A look of momentary concern touched her, but the other wolf gained her footing once more, and Hadaya kept quiet, though her tail wagged softly, reassuringly.

As she climbed over the very edge and spotted her golden friend, she padded forward quickly, smile falling upon her maw.- "Kami! I've brought someone up to meet you."

-Sitting up gently as Hadaya's tone and voice began to grow, she looked over her advisor curiously, before the words registered, and she sat up a little more regally.

Another lion perhaps? A cub maybe?

But as the other canine came into sight, she cast a soft smile towards her friend. No wonder she was so excited.-

Amaterasu immediately gave a bow when she got up to the top. She was excited to be meeting the queen of the lands she had hoped for so long to call home. The lionness seemed reserved, of course, most royalty was probably reserved. There was a certain glint of wisdom in the lioness' eyes, Ammy immediately respected her. "I'm Amaterasu," Ammy introduced herself. "Pleased to meet you," Ammy finished with a quick bow.
"Hello Amaterasu." -She nodded politely in greeting, tail falling to a soft twitch as she inspected the two lightly.- "What a surprise! You don't see very many wolves in these lands. Is there something I can help you with."

-Hadaya was silent for the moment, standing alongside Ammy, she waited for the wolf to pipe up. And if she didn't. Well then she'd pipe up for her!-
Ammy's tail began to wag her tail when the queen addressed her, but not as insanely fast as she could. "I was wondering... If I could call your lands home?" She asked, dipping her head a little as a sign of respect. She couldn't help but wonder if lions did the same to show respect. It helped to have one of her own species with her; she wasn't nearly as nervous.
"Ahhhh, is that why you brought her about?" -A soft and familar smile glowed from the queen to her advisor, something far more then queen and peasantry. It was a smile of friendship, and knowing.

Eyes flicking back to the white wolf Kami nodded gently.- "If you'd like to stay in the lands then we'd be happy to have you. We need more little members I think. To help let the young ones meet other species. And to help make sure our lands are well suited for others then ourselves."

"If anything strikes you are unwelcoming you'll come and tell me, yes?"

"Yes, your Majesty," Ammy said, dipping her muzzle. She wasn't sure if that was the proper formality for a queen, but Kami seemed pretty accepting. "Thank you so much for letting me stay," Amaterasu added. There were many places where she would be driven away just for what she was, and she was overjoyed that she could stay here. "And thank you Hadaya, for introducing me," Amaterasu said to the brown wolf quietly. She hoped she could meet up with the pair soon, and maybe even with some little ones.
"You're quite welcome." -Kami nodded softly, before adding lightly, something of a farewell as the wolf seemed excited.- "There are many places near the rocks and also further out in the savvanah that you could settle into. So just find wherever you feel most comfortable."

"My pleasure." -Hadaya's tail swayed happily, before she settled herself down alongside Kami, barking out her own goodbye.- "Don't make a stranger of yourself Ammy! I'd love to see you again soon."

So you talk to the gods? - Limbuko and Zuri

You again? - Limbuko and Kimaji

Quote:
The water was so much cooler than the land this time of day.

But it wasn't cold either. It was actually sort of warm at the surface, and this was why the deeper waters of the lake were much better now. Kimaji didn't seem to realise, but even the deeper part was starting to be less deep. Swaii was leeping again, probably tired after a rather long hunting expedition, and again, the adolescent failed to realise another thing; her father was growing old.

She was oblivious to so many things, but she knew enough to keep her going; where the mice went, how to catch rabbits, and she was even getting closer to caching antelope! But for now, all she wanted to do, was swim, or at least at the moment. Right now, this was the game, dive in as deep as you could, and try and find a fish. She'd learned these weren't monsters by now, and also that they could be eaten, but were hard to find, they hid, and some had been dying.

Finally, though, she needed a rest from paddling around so much, and to catch her breath properly, and so, a wet Kimaji made her way back to the land, but once out, she didn't bother to get dry, and just flopped near the edge under a tree, so much better for keeping cool.

It was odd for any other, perhaps, for a place like this to be so hot.

-Softly the god settled onto the lightly familar lands. They were drier, quieter then before, but nonetheless he felt comforted for some reason. Whether it was tiredness that had brought him to the land, or a strange and silent urge to see the Flower once more, he didn't know. But he only rested a moment before he was moving again, paws carrying him along as his eyes touched mildly familar sights.

The place had seen better days.. in fact it was almost depressing how much had changed and died since his first visit there. But thoughts of the future didn't plague the god. He was a god of hope and joy not worry and logistics.

Ivory tail tip flicking gently he carried himself with feathers held high to give shade. Yes.. he'd rest soon.. eventually. Maybe he had come for both?-

At first, the adolescent was oblivious to the god's approach, though he was probably oblivious to her for now aswell. But soon, he'd be noticed, for asthe place was drying up, the leaves were drying and drying and breaking, the branches were wearer ad seemed to often let parts fall on the ground, and it was this that let her know of him.

Soon he was close enough to Kimaji to hear something, and her ears perked, curiosity quickly taking over her mind as she looked towards where the god was comming from, tail flicking, lifting many dry leaves. She got up, peering around the tree.

She was still soaked, her fur madded and clinging to her body, but at this point, the mere idea of getting dry was now further than ever, and she took a few steps foreward. It didn't sound like a mouse, they were very quiet, and they didn't sound big.

"Hello? "

-Lim didn't seem bothered by the small ruckus that proceeded and followed him, and only when words actually sounded did his lilac ears flip upwards, swiveling to try and catch the sound.

Peering around he saw nothing but scenery, and he stopped in his tracks, returning the call.- "Hello there."

-He ruffled himself up, posing himself in one of his most dashing poses. The voice was feminine from what he could tell.-

That voice rung slightly in the adolescents mind, and she blinked. That was familiar, and not from long ago. She remembered.. white and pink, and purple.Oh, yeah! When she wandered away from the forest, she'd met two lions! And one changed color. What was his name again..?

She scrambled away from the tree compleetly to give a better look around, getting into a more visible spot herself. She flicked her ears, and blinked, fianlly able to catch a glimpse of the other through the leaves. Puple... Hey! She did know this one, right?

"Liimb..uko? " Shethrew out the gues, that at least sounded familiar.

-He'd known the voice right away not to belong to 'the flower', but his eyes widened softly as another familar sight came to view. Grey and white features might have grown gently in size, but he knew the lioness none the less, and was obviously pleased when it became apparent that she knew him too.-

"Well, well, well. I didn't imagine I'd see you again." -Softly he turned, pleasant smile taking up shape upon his maw. And digging through his memory, he finally gave a soft playful bow, before padding to close the distance between the two.- "Hello again Kimaji. You live here in these lands? Or are you simply enjoying the thrills of traveling about?"

Yes, it was him! The half-dry tail flicked, and a smile moved onto her maw, blue eyes surveying the god again. He had changed, but nt so much, either. He was a bit lfuffier-- er, his mane was a bit bigger, but not by so much either. She hadn't gotten that different either, though, she did speak a bit less more like a cub! Wich was probably good for Swaii.

"Hi Lim! " She took a pace or two, almost trotting, then sat, wet tail curling around her forepaws. "Live here! Well, used to. Swaii 'n Kimaji live more out in the forest now. " More out in the forest was actually far from the deep. They had lived at the caves nearby, but Swaii had decided to move, and sh

Play with me a little - Cascata and Demani

Quote:
-Being the runt of the family, Cascata's change and growth over the past month or so had been subtle, however she'd delighted in watching her siblings spring up. Pup fat beginning to fall away, legs lengthing softly, even despite her size it was easy to anyone else to see that she was growing. But as always her head was too far into the flowers and butterflies to notice.

Her tail sway happily as she frolicked between the trees. Her age giving her just enough braveness to stray a little further then usual. She wondered what everyone was doing. And if she'd be able to stay up and see the fireflies tonight. Happy little whimper touching her she continued upon her meandering path.-

Demani had been haning out more and more towards the south, he mostly felt strange in his own pack so he had found a liking to this place a lot better plus he had found himself a nice friend when he visited last maybe she was still around? hm maybe i should go look for her he toughed and smiled happily wagging his white and green tail..

He sniffed a little in the air trying to pick up her scent if she was close by but he just smellled a lot off other things liked flowers and other animals..

-As she weaved in and out she wasn't aware of the familar friend that was looking for her, though she'd thought about him from time to time. Demani, the super wild dog! Good at everything.

Soft motion caught her attention and her eyes drifted as a brightly yellow butterfly fluttered out before her, stopping her in her tracks. Happy bark eminating through the trees, she hopped , before beginning to follow the butterfly, calling loudly behind it.- "Flutterbyeeee! Like the sun! Would you like to play with me? A little tag maybe?"

-Bounding after it as it floated lazily along, she barked and yapped happily, letting it lead her further and further away from home.-

Demani continued his little trip in the forest sniffing on things trying to pick up something fun~~ because he was always bored when he had nothing to do. This dog always had so much energy he didn't know what to use it for. Suddenly he saw a yellow butterfly floating by...oh? what was this...and then he heard someone barking..

He turned his head towards the barking and saw...it was Cascata his little friend. It seemed like she had grown some since he last time he saw her maybe she could do a lot off her things herself now like swimming.

" Hallo there pretty girl! long time no see "

-Her eyes whipped from the butterfly to the form of her friend, and before she could stop it a happy yipe sounded, echoing through the surrounding trees.- "Demaniiiiiiiiiii!"

-Padding the rest of the distance between them, she rubbed against his side in the same familar greeting that she gave her family and pack, tail wagging at about a mile a minute.- "Hiiiiiii again."

-Ears perking, and eyes begging with the soft brightness of eternal puppyhood she asked hopefully.- "Did you come to play with Cascata today?"

Demani wagged his tail and smiled softly towards his little friend then he felt her rubbing against his side <3 aw that was just so cute a very friendly meeting that made him feel all soft inside. Maybe that was the girls intention anyway he use to have a very hard outside but inside he was very soft..

" Ah well i guess you haven't got to big to play? "

He laughed she was a little like him she probably would never get to old to play well atleast he hoped that he was almost an adult and hoped he wouldn't turn boring soon. Oh well no worries..

" Hmm well what do you want to play then? "

-Cascata was still young enough that Demani's silent worries hadn't began to touch her own mind yet. No, her mind was too kempt in the excitement of family and playing each day. And though her family might grow around her, she was the baby, and very little could be done to change her childish attitude.-

"What to play....?" -She pondered softly, pacing or rather prancing in a tiny circle as she thought, tail swaying enough to almost carry her rump off with it with each swing.-

"Maybe Tag? Or maybe hide and seek? Which do you like best?

He barked happily and watched the big pup she was almost a teen soon she probably grow fast they all did. When he was here he didn't had to think much he could just enjoy life and that is what he had been looking for all the time.

" Hmm i like tag best " <3

He puffed her gently with his nose and yelled tag! then he took a big jump up on a fallen rotten tree and wagged his tail even more playfully. Demani didn't look like he was almost an adult himself.

-A squeak escaped Cas as the puff of air hit her, shaking her fur as a giggle erupted from her. But already he was escaping, and playfully she hopped low onto her paws, yelping playfully, though her ears stood upwards.- "Better watch out then!"

-Whether she was as fast as him or not she didn't know, but it didn't seem to matter as she took up the challenge, following after him with enthusiasm. As long as he didn't get so far ahead that she couldn't see him, then it'd be alright.-

He laughed as he continued to run and take a jump here and there to avoid her but he didn't run that fast because she was smaller then him and it would be no fun if he run away from her. Then he stopped and took a jump over her just to tease her <3

" Come on catch me i know you can do it "

He got down on his front legs and wagged his bottom and tail a little as he waited for her next step.

-She ran along afterwards keeping up relitively well, actually bracing the distance finally when he began to slow for her. Another giggle errupted as he teased her, and she bounded forward with a burst of energy, nipping playfully at his tail as she got near enough to almost touch him.- "Of course I can! I was only taking it easy."

-Letting her mouth snap shut once more, she caught his tail loosely, and tugged careful not to let her teeth actually settle into his skin as she giggled, speaking with a mouthful of tail.- "Gawwwtchuu Demawwe"

He felt that his friend got a hand of his tail with her mouth it tickeld a little and then he decided to slow then when she grabbed his tail she got him that was for sure. He sat down and looked back at his friend...then he laughed so silly she was he had never felt like this with anyone before Cascata was really great.

" Heh you like gnawing at mens tails do you? ~~ i like you Cascata you are always so great "

He barked out a little because that he was happy life was always so great around Cascata maybe he could stay with her? that wouldn't be so bad wouldn't it? errrr sure she was a little small but but he liked her he couldn't help that his heart somewhat felt something more for this girl then just friendship.

-Releasing his tail with a wide wagging of her tail and bottom, she grinned pleasantly, answering his question as if it were a serious one.- "I dunno. Yours is the first I've gnawed on!"

-Pondering lightly, she finally nodded.- "I think I do like it! It tickles my mouth"

-Cascata's thoughts were quite similar to Demani's, unbeknown to her, wondering why it was her bestest friend couldn't be around to play with her more often. She wished he was.. but oh well, might as well make the best of it right now!

Grinning widely, she crouched down onto her forepaws again, giggling as she teased him.- "Wanna know a secret Demani?"

He looked at her when she gnawed at his tail of course it would tickle her mouth it was coverd with fur like both of them. Heh she was so silly. He layed down on his side and smiled towards his funny little friend who felt so special to him. He had never had this much fun in his hole life before.

And being with Cascata was something he would like to do everyday but it was still a little hard since he didn't live here.

" Oh a secret? sure "

Oh what did she meen by that...maybe it was about her family or something he didn't think he was a part of it.

"You're my very bestest favorite friend!" -She grinned widely, waiting for the reply with such enthusiam, you'd think that she'd just told him he'd won a lifetime supply of food or something.

Hopping to her toes once more, she padded a few step away, before looking back at her friend with a happy waggle of her tail.- "I want to show you my treasures! They're hidden in the pack lands though in a super secret place."

"Wanna see? We might even run into my mama." -Soft blue eyes begged with a familiarly childish gaze.-

He blinked and looked a little surprised 0_o he tought of the same thing as well they could almost read eachothers minds from time to time and they loved doing the same things. He was glad that she wanted to play with someone as big as him not all the adult dogs use to play that much even if he did.

" Awww i feel the same way~~ you are so sweet "

He wagged his tail and licked his female friend on her head as he continued to listen to her. He smiled when she started to talk about treasures what treasures could it be?

" Sure show me the place "

-A happy little whine escaped her at the soft affection to her head, and she offered a pleased smile before finally she pulled forward once ahead.- "You do? I'm glad!"

"That's gotta be something special don't ya think?"

-But this time she didn't wait for the answer, instead bounding forward a few steps, happy bark sounding as she awaited the sound of his paws behind her.- "Off to see the treasure!"

Demani laughed again...treasure? what was the girl thinking about what treasure could a girl in her age know about? well he didn't really had treasures as a little pup he was more found of going on adventures those where his trasures.

" Oh sure...so where is that treasure of yours? "

He followed her wagging his tail slowley, he started to sniff and look around he was curious he just didn't want to tell her right away that he was.

-Humming happily she led the way, winding through the trees only a little, far more excited then wanting to play. And as they drew nearer and nearer to the pack lands scents began to touch the air. Her siblings, mama, Ouro. She could pick out each scent easily. But for now she lead along the outside of the packland, stopping finally when they came to a very large tree.

Giving a soft bark, she made her way to the base of the tree, before beginning to dig very tenderly between the twisting roots. Trying hard not to get too much dirt on her.- "Demani wants to help?"

Demani followed his grey and blue friend and he picked up a few new scents on the way, he had never felt any of them before maybe it was near Cascata's home? he could pick up that it was more then just 2 dogs and he also smelled that there was both females and males. He started to think if Cascata's herd was as big as his old herd was?

Then he blinked and looked at Cascata when she spoke to him..

" Oh yeah sure! but what are we looking for? "

He walked up to the side of her and started to dig as well...Demani had bigger and stronger paws and wasn't really afraid of getting dirty even if his white paws slightly turned brown as he dug.

"Just gotta reach some of the roots" -She grinned as he did the work for her, settling on his paws to watch as he dug at the loose earth, finally giving another excited bark as tree roots began to show through the soil.-

"There it is!" -Brushing away the remnants of dirt a small little den could be seen underneath the roots. It was small, barely larger then Cascata's head, but it was filled with things. Small trinkets collected over time.

Whining happily, she dipped down to pull out a shimmery rock. And then a flower. A snake skin. A butterfly. A whole mass of tiny keepsakes collected since she was a pup.- "My treasures! Aren't they neat?"

Demani nodded and continued to help out he looked more and more curious on what ti could be, it could be anything because Cascata wuld probably be a girl that collected a bunch of things. He looked closer to the digging place when she yelled...oh where?

" Ohhh yes they look cool...what are they from? "

Maybe they where just special memorial things that she saved...she wasn't that old yet but she probably had a few adventures just like he had and it was great that she saved things. He himself didn't save a single thing from his old home...because it was nothing to save.

"From? Just things that I saw and thought were pretty! When I was out playing or following momma." -Her tail wagged softly as she spoke, eyes lifting upwards as she recalled the past.

But quickly enough her eyes drew back to her friend, and she grinned.- "You can have one! Chose your favorite!"

Demani laughed of course they had to be from somewhere or from someone or maybe she just saved random things? no they had to have a meening but they where pretty indeed. He wagged his tail as he was looking at the stuff..

He then looked up at his friend when she was offering one of her precious items.

" Ah no i can't take one of your precious things...or you really want me to have one that bad? "

Wasn't those things her favorites? he didn't want to take them away from her.

A new kind of hurt - Tego and Anala

Quote:
http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=8164255

A'nala, jumped quickly onto the higher rocks, for a view of the forest. Nearly in the trees now, she looked upon a quaint spot, one of her new favorite spots actually -- A small like clearing with a cave, she imagined to hold her food in or something and use it as a den, and a small field, partially filled with flowers with a running stream that led to a waterfall a few miles off. Entertaining thoughts of Xanthus, a lion she recently met, she sighed. She shook her heads to clear her thought before jumping down, from the rocks. Walking gently, she took a sip from the stream, to quench her sudden thirst.

-Tego was in a mood today, his usually sleek and relaxed body tense and knoted in anger and frusteration. Perhaps he'd just woken up on the wrong side of the branch this morning.. Perhaps it was the lingering dreams that'd tormented him the night before. Or maybe he was even still sulking from his thwarted plan to pester Hivu. But whatever it was, he was seething, his head snapping with a mean scowl to ever stray noise that touched his ears.

He wanted to hurt something.. anything really. Why was it that things were seeming to fall apart so much these days. Why was it that things had slipped past his mask and begun to shake his calm life. Huffing unpleasantly he tromped through the underbrush, making quite a ruckus in the process.-

A'nala, lifted her head, as she heard someone .. stomping thoughout the forest. ".. Whats with them?" A'nala asked annoyed now. Most creatures would've went through quietly to avoid danger. And it seemed the noise was getting closer and closer to where she stood.

She decided to wait quietly for whatever was coming and give it a good lecture. "Hmph." She said outloud. There was no harm in her for waiting, she was a lion. Stronger than many animals in the forest, she lifted her paw up and flexed it. Oh her day, was going downhill already, as her green eyes scanned her surroudnings for any sign of movement.

-He was the self proclaimed 'king' of the area, well aware of the many landmarks that made up the section of the jungle that he normally perused. He'd been here since his cub days, drawn by the seclusion, so it was not any sound that turned his path towards the stream. But instead the recalled knowledge of it being there.

His tongue was growing dry, and THAT irritated him too. Perhaps he'd stop for a drink... perhaps even maul some poor little fish for a meal. Ebony and ivory tail flicking softly he began towards the stream, a dowry look staining his maw.-

A'nala, before waiting too long saw the creature that had disturbed the forest coming through. "A Leopard?" She said in surprise. Leopards were only a mere stepping son below lions but yes they were also something not to be taken lightly. A'nala kept this in mind as she stared at the leopard. "You've been stomping and who in god's sake knows what, and practically ruined everyones peace. I doubt there's any reason to take your own fustration out on anybody else!" A'nala gestured indignantly to their surroundings which ha grown even more quiet.

-His eyes had only just caught sight of the softly yellow lioness when her voice cut through the air, causing his muscles to tense up even more. Sure lions were bigger, but this was a girl. And how DARE she try to scold him when she was trespassing on HIS land!? Who did she think she was?

Scowl growing across his face, Tego slunk out of the underbrush, seemingly unbothered by the fact that the lioness towered over his own small and muscular body.- "Me stomping around isn't nearly as henious as a stupid twit who thinks she knows everything and everyone."

-Lifting his body gently, losing the aggresive stance for a moment he piped up with a taunt.- "What makes you think you can just boss everyone around, girl?"

"If you feel you have that impression of me, 'stupid twit who thinks she knows everything and everyone', I daresay that you have the right to your own opinion, but that was clearly not the message I wanted to give off." A'nala said frowning at this leopard. What was his problem?

She returned his scowl with a dark look. "I believe.. I have the right when you involve anything other than yourself in your own fustration." Her voice was soft, but her eyes show she was stubborn. She jerkd her body away from the hostile leopard. "Refrain from getting close to me if you will. I hate your type of males."

-Blah blah blah He listened to her words half-heartedly. It seemed that he always attracted the fiery sorts, and though he liked that, today it was grating on his already bad mood.

However his interest quickly perked with her request, and a nasty smirk crossed his maw. Goodness, goodness, giving up hints and fears so easily? She'd certainly be an easy one to torment.

Letting all other words pass by him, he stepped forward a few steps, bracing the distance between them nearly in half, as he called out teasingly.- "My type huh? A speciest are we? Tsk tsk. Shouldn't play in the jungle if you don't want to deal with the wildlife that lives there."

A'nala felt something recoil in her stomach as the smirk crossed over the leopard (He is a leopard, right? XD) and his tone of voice changed. Taking precautions, she kept her face and tone guarded.

She decided to stand her ground, as he got closer. Maybe his change was due to an misunderstanding of fear between them? Well, she certainly didnt fear him. Why should she? Although she felt something .. bad was going to heppen if she stayed here. "Hardly your species. The rest of your species is probably fine. Maybe its with your personality? The male over-egotistic, concieted, thinking-of-nothing-but-himself type?" She retorted to the leopard. "and dont treat me as a kid. I'm perfectly an adult and can handle any wildlife" She put an emphasis on wildlife to show that she didnt think of him as any sort of wildlife, but more of.. an annoyance. "that comes my way, if I wish to." She finished up.

"Now if I'll take my leave, as your being so courteous." Her voice dripping with sarcasm, She started to walk away.

-Unfortunately for her, whenever Tego got his mind set on one person, he was stuck to them like glue. Until either they bested him, or he won over and dominated the creature into submission.- "Probably?" -He chided, a simple statement of amusement trying to imply that after all her wordy rightousness, she didn't even know enough leopards to make that assumption.

But he didn't push that thought any further, instead picking up his steps as she began to move away. And he slunk along after, going just fast enough to barely creep up, until he was only a body's length away from her.- "Can you now? I hardly believe it really. What are you even doing in these jungles Missy?"

"Probably hiding from some guy. Or maybe even out hunting for one since you seem so vocal about 'your type'."

"Of course, probably. I cant make assumptions for the rest of the leopard species based on you, can I?" She raised her eyebrows. She didnt like his amusement now, supposely because she was his source.

She felt uneasy. This leopard wasnt letting her go now. She shifted uncomfortably. You dont have to be scared of him. Chances are, he wont do anything to you. She lectured herself before turning to answer him, putting on a facade, that his closeness didnt bother her a bit.

"Believe what you want." She shrugged. "And for your information, you dont need to pry into someone else's buisness why their here. After all, your not the king of it, now are you?" She asked skeptically.

-He simply grinned, an unpleasantly kind seemingly one, and he traveled along only a step or so behind as if he were some friend of hers tagging along. Not the beast that was gently poking at her comfort, taunting and teasing her with his words. Ohhh she'd break. If he had his way.

And he answered simply.- "The land does not only belong to kings, but also those who live on it my dear. And I have lived here for quite the while. Some would even say you were trespassing you know."

"Quit following me! Its pathetic. DOnt you have your own things to do?" Anala asked, quited irritated by now. "Or do you have nothing better than to follow some lioness around?"

"My dear? Dont address me in.. that way." Her teeth was seething. "You have no right to!" She exclaimed before giving him a sour look. "I would stop tresspassing if a certain leopard would leave me alone so I can leave your disgusting company!.. and your land." She rolled her eyes as she added the last part in.

"Grumpy, grumpy. No wonder you're needing to hunt out men." -He chided, ignoring her exclaimation and yell with a cold and steely front he'd got so good at casting. Inside he was gleeing however, proud and pleased over this show. Over how much of an effect he was having with his twists and taunts.-

"Disgusting?" -His ears twitched softly with the words, a mean smirk curling to his lips as the idea hit him.- "Perhaps you'd prefer the name Tramp then? If not "my dear"." -Pressing his shoulder against her lower hind leg in mock affection, he purred.- "Is that a more fitting name?"

"Grumpy? I wonder what the reason is?" She said staring directly at Tego. "And I dont need to hunt out men. Some men are /perfectly/ fine, but apparently, you dont go in that category, do you?" She said mockingly to him, her tone of voice, showing exactly what category she would place him in.

Anala saw the meaning of the smirk as she slowly backed away. "I am not a tramp...!" She hissed. "Tramps , for your infomation, ... spread their favors to more than several lions. Do you see me doing that? Absolutely not." She snapped at him. "So it is not in any way, fitting, as gentleman is fitting to you."

At the further contact between their bodies, she turned around swiftly, and slapped her paw to his face. "Dont touch me, filth." Her jade eyes alight with sparks of anger.

-He only grinned to her insult, an unpleasant sight that gave up the information that her word weren't working. If anything, they were spurring him on.

Oh what fun. A release for his aggression, for the bitter and unpleasant days of his recent past. This was exhilerating, he was getting intoxicated, his heart beating rashly as the blood pulsed through him.

Octaves of her voice raising, he didn't realize the strike was coming until it landed, but the throb of pain only spurred him on, and suddenly the decision was made. He WOULD break this lioness. No matter what it took.

It all happened so quickly, in a second if even that long. Claws extending, one strong arm laced around her neck, claws piercing into the tender flesh of back of her neck, threatening to tear if she struggled too greatly. And his teeth settled against her neck, not biting, but perhaps more disturbingly so, his tongue trailing across that beautiful yellow pelt, mocking words sounding.- "Ha! You're such a tramp that not only several lions will do. You come out tempting leopards too."

A'nala felt, a sense of dread, that his leopard certainly wasnt going away, and more so -- smiling at her! It appeared that she had certainly invoked something in this leopard, and suddenly, she regretted coming to the forest in the first place. Certainly, looks were decieving.

Her eyes were filled with alarm, as she was dragged against the leopard's body, enclosed in his arms that threatened her life. A'nala almost choked, in ironity if the situation. This.. was a embrace, but it wasnt how a embrace should've been .. ! Her body movements froze, however, as she felt the leopards touch on her neck. She tried to jerk away -- but could only do so limited. After all, the claws were still there. She felt.. repulsed that she had to stand there and be vulnerable to the leopard's moves. Her spine tingled -- as she heard the leopards voice - so close to her ear. "I didnt tempt anyone." She said fiercely. "If you want to blame anyone, Blame yourself for not controlling your baser instincts."

-He shifted gently, moving dangerously closer to her back, though his claws still trailed along that senstive skin. And as he slipped more out of her sight, he let his side brush against her haunches, taunting softly.- "Ahhh, but my 'basic instincts' wouldn't be calling if they hadn't been tugged at by such a vixen."

-Letting the claws of both paws settle into the delicate skin of her back, he growled in a lusty rumble, as he settled behind her.- "Why don't you let me give you what you want sweet thing?"

A'nala, struggling, writhed her body to move away from him -- but to no avail, as the leopard came into closer, if possible, much closer proximity. She abhorred herself, for actually ENCOURAGING this leopard, although she hadnt known how she had done it, and felt her stomach sinking as she heard the leopard. No he couldnt possibly be thinking of ..?!

She felt her stomach - churning around, her mind violently protesting, but her body seemed not to belong to herself anymore, it wouldnt move, or not wouldnt - but couldnt. She thought, her eyes taking on a dull and lifeless look as -it- happened. Her mind echoing his words, and taunts in the short time they had met. "No.. I didnt want this.. " She said faintly, her voice and heart broken.

-Never had the leopard done anything so... soul-crushing as the act that took place. But once it had started he couldn't stop, and when finally he left the beautiful broken beast in an unconcious huddle on the ground, his pride overwhelmed his guilt.

Never had he dominated over another in such a strong way. But now that it was done, she was to be left like trash, the tramp she was, and he cast not a look at her as he slipped back off into the jungle.-

Unwelcomed surprise - Tego and Mleli

Quote:
It was late in the morning, not quite noontime and Mleli was out and about on a hunt. She'd come to the decision that her newfound home would be the perfect place to stay, and had also come to accept the little golden snake that she shared it with. Her acceptance of Kifuno was easier than she expected, and he was even in her thoughts while she hunted. Only one had she hunted for someone other than her, and that had been a bit easier since it was not hunting for a snake.

Her excuse for the effort? He obviously couldn't take care of himself.

She crept through the trees slowly and quietly, with her head lowered and her ears perked attentively. Little sound came from her paws as she stepped carefully over rocks and roots, and she kept her attention mainly on her senses of hearing and smell.

-Tego lounged almost royally among the tree limbs, his ego still soaring high from his 'win' the few days before. Who cared about that stupid leopardess Hivu and her freak babies. He didn't need her, his skills at tormenting were quite well enough honed to put the pressure on someone else.

And he'd proven it just days ago.. on that lioness. See if SHE ever stepped into the jungle again. A wide grin settled upon his maw, Tego streched his paws out even further, causing the branches and leaves to rustle beneath him. Life was good.-

The sound of rustling leaves reached the leopardess' attentive ears and her steps slowed to a silent halt. Something in the trees would do no good to her hunt, being to far up to catch easily and possibly loud enough to startle away any prey she did want to catch. Mleli sighed quietly and glanced upward to see what she was dealing with, mainly out of curiosity. She was about to move on without a care when she caught a glimmer of something familiar through the trees, something she could not place.

With a small smirk, she decided to change her path to get a closer look. Food in one direction was pretty well the same in another direction, after all. So, resuming quiet steps, she changed her route to head closer to the trees the sound came from.

-Had he seen her, he would have recognized her immediately. The white and brown speckled ghost of his past. The female that tugged through his nightmares on occassion.

Perhaps that's why he'd become so attached to Hivu. The spots. And the vunerability hiding behind her feisty and argumentitve words. Bahhh.. He shuffled, tail flicking unpleasantly. Why'd she always pop into his mind. That little girl. Bah indeed.

Letting his eyes shift upward at the soft fluttering of wings, he watched a pair of small birds bicker, pondering over whether or not he was hungry enough to try and catch one of them.-

Mleli walked around slowly, carefully choosing her path to get a clearer view of what she'd seen. When she finally got a good view, she found herself gazing upward at another leopard, and she realized at once why he was so familiar.

She snorted a short laugh, at herself and at the situation. What a lovely surprise, finding an old 'friend' so close to her new home. She paused a moment to decide if she wanted to move on or see how he was doing. Mleli was quite ignroant to just how badly their last encounter had gone, having run off before she could check.

-The unnatural sound of the laugh, as quiet as it might have been was enough to gain his attention, ears swiveling to meet it, before his eyes could fall upon the familar sight. And when they did, he froze still and silent, trying to convince himself that what was below him was an illusion.. some trick of his mind.

Letting his claws sink into the branch, as if somehow it would protect him, he felt the hair on the back of his neck and spine bristle upwards, his maw pulling back in a mild growl. If she was real, what the hell was she doing here?-

It was foolish to even consider leaving, for Mleli would never just walk away from a chance like this. She was still on a high from what happened with that angry lion goddess. Not only that, but the look on his face was rather amusing.

"Well well," she said, her amusement showing in her tone, "What are you doing out here?"

-The confident and cold mask he'd created over the years shattered momentarily. And for a moment, as her familar voice touched his ears Tego felt like a cub once more. Afraid, vunerable. His heart pattered as his ears lay back dumbstruck.

What was she doing here?

What was HE doing? Cowering here like an idiot? The mask.. that domineering nature he'd developed.. How could it disappear so quickly. He was no worse then he had been before she showed up.

He was strong. In body and mind. He was the tormenter.. the domineer. He made people cower at his words and claws. He had to show her.

Calling forth the most unpleasant of looks he could manage, he growled back down to her.- "This is where I live. What are you doing in my territory?"

Mleli watched him recall a strong, dominant expression, seeing it falter before that, if only slightly. She watched him, unmoved by his growling or the tone of voice in which he declared this as his territory.

"Your territory?" she replied with another short laugh, looking around her a bit, "I never would have imagined that. Not hiding away in the shadows after what happened?" It was arrogant to think she'd have that kind of effect on someone, but whether or not she believe what she said was not clear. How ironic it was that she'd taken up residence in, or so close to, Tego's home when she went hunting for a new home. She turned her gaze back to the tree and the leopard high in it.

"I don't hide from anything" -Internally he seethed, but externally he dug up his composure the best that he could manage. Trying hard to gain that look of indifference as he tried his best to weasel his way out from under her words.

Soft his tail began to flick, a soft comfort to himself, that gave the sign that he was trying to make her the prey instead.- "I'll have you know that I've been living here and defending this territory for ages. I've ran off more stupid girls, and torn apart more insignifigant males then you could even began to imagine."

"So turn around Mleli." -He almost spat her name, eyes narrowing softly on the familar pelt. Scare her away. Having her around was the last thing he needed. Ecspecially considering how easily and quickly she seemed to effect his facade.-

Mleli quirked a brow at his reply and subtle but meaningful motions. Still smirking as he explained how he's guarded his territory, she took a seat, curling her tail around her feet and making a display out of getting comfortable. She made it clear that she had no intention to leave so easily, and that her ego was, if anything, larger than it had been at their last encounter.

"You make it sound like I fall under the same category as these stupid girls," she remarked, shaking her head, "I'm not going anywhere. You'll have to be more persuasive than that." The leopardess had no intention of staying in that exact spot forever, but she felt she might enjoy an extended stay in the area- even moreso now that she knew Tego was around, and thought that it would bother him and he wasn't going to do anything about it.

"You seem to think you aren't one of them?" -He chirped, a taunt familiar to his recent lifestyle. And as lame as it was, it soothed him. However her stubborness did not. Huffing lightly, he lifted himself from the branch.- "You might want to rethink that missy. I'm alot bigger then you now."

-Sliding from the tree, he landed on the soft soil with a gentle plod, catching himself almost gracefully, before he ruffled himself up, standing as tall and large as he could manage. A bluff only made stronger by the softly visable scar that decorated his cheek.- "Don't think I won't return your kindness."

"Think? I know I'm not one of them," she called back to him, not at all disturbed by the attempt at an insult. Mleli put on a somewhat exagerated look of surprise when he informed her of his size advantage. She knew he was bigger and stronger than she was, but she really didn't seem to care about that. Since the little episode with Jack, the leopard's confidence had only gone up.

"So you finally grew up," Mleli commented brightly, not moving from her seated position as Tego descended from the tree. Her eyes wandered over his large form, and then back to his face just as he threatened her, rolling her eyes just a bit, "Physically, at least."

-He sauntered forward a few steps, though the familarity of the leopardess kept him from getting as intimately close as he usually found himself to others. Almost bizzarely he stopped an entire length away from her, puffing his body once more instead.- "Atleast I don't beat up on cubs, oh mature one."

-His tail lashed out unpleasantly as his eyes narrowed once more on the familar pelt. She was larger too, body sleekined with age, features drawn out in the delicacies of femininity. And if his stomach weren't already churning with the fear and anger it was, then he might have actually admitted to himself that she looked lovely. But words of a very different sort escaped him, rumbling in a growl.- "What delusion has you believing you aren't stupid Mleli? Picked on enough defenseless creatures to trick yourself into believing you're actually worth something. Amount to something?"

-Ha, talk about the pot calling the kettle black.-

Mleli seemed undisturbed by the male's decision to step closer, a good deal of her was convinced of her superiority and safety. Whatever small voice was in the back of her telling her to be careful went completely ignored.

"You forget that I was a cub myself at that time," she reminded him, sounding rather unconvinced and almost amused at the topic, "and that you deserved what you got." Nevermind backing up that opinion, she felt it was implicit. Her steely eyes wandered again, and she noted she certainly would not get away with what she did before.

"No delusions, merely facts," she answered wistfully, smirking at Tego, "I've taken on gods and won. No defenceless creatures needing picking on since you, I'm afraid. What does that say about your worth?" She was bragging, for she was most pleased with her encounter with Boma'burudi. It was an exageration to say gods, and misleading to say 'take on' when she only had an arguement with her.

"I daresay it does seem you've toughened up, though," Mleli added after a slight pause, and it was hard to say whether it was a compliment or an attempt to take credit for it.

-His ears twitched almost unnoticably at the word "gods" surprised to say the least. First Hivu claiming that her freak children were fathered by one. And now Mleli... Having fought one? And won? Obviously these 'gods' were a far step down from one's imagination of 'higher beasts'.

He'd tormented, he'd tortured, hell he'd even raped some full grown lioness. But none of that seemed to match her statement, so he said nothing instead.

Tego braced himself against her assertion, simply a stoney gaze touching her as she spoke of the past, and when finally her voice lifted into it's last statement, a mean smile worked it's way across his maw.- "Indeed, the one thing in this life that I can thank you for."

-And slowly he began to creep forward once more, muscles pulled taunt as he drew near enough to begin a loose circle around the leopardess.- "It's you I'll thank for teaching me that I don't need friends or any lying repulsive bitches. But unfortunately you're lesson is about to be turned right back onto you."

At Tego's silence at her mentioning her fight with Boma'burudi, Mleli smirked smugly out at him. Silence was the best answer she felt he could give, for she doubted something so meaningful would have gone ignored completely. And that opinion showed well on her face. Her confidence seemed to peak, especially at the mean smile.

Confident as she might be, she was not foolish enough to stay so awkwardly positioned when he started to circle her. She offered him a smile, and stood up- stretching out her legs carelessly.

"Now now, there's no need to thank me," she said in a condescending tone of voice, "It's enough thanks to know I helped you out so much." The smirk never left her face, and she watched him- step by step.

-The way she twisted the words around were painful, the soft indifferent and pleased looks of her posture and face causing him to seeth inside. He deserved it yes, after doing it to so many others, but still it burned.

Truely she wasn't just some stupid girl. She was swift and strong, calm and collected no matter what words he spit at her. But then, that'd been why he'd attached to her so much when he was little, what he'd looked up to. And yet despite his efforts it was seeming he still wasn't good enough to one up her.

Well.. maybe not mentally. Rolling his muscles tensely back he drew softly closer in his circle, grinning finally when she stood up. Perhaps all she needed to take her down a peg was to get her a** kicked. Perhaps if he showed her just how much stronger he was then her, she'd finally lose that stupid smirk.-

"Ohh... but I insist." -Simple words, as he lunged at the leopardess, claws in still, hell bent on pinning her down.-

Mleli watched Tego circle, her eyes more focussed on his face than any other part of him, though she could tell from the way her moved and the expression in his eyes what he was contemplating doing. As aware as she may have been, when he did leap at her she was caught off guard. He was bigger, stronger and angrier- but she'd not actually expected him to attempt something she felt was so foolish.

With a delayed reaction, she made to duck and move away simultaneously and only ended up in a more awkward position when struck. Her expression did not deviate too far as she glared at him with angry surprise and something even resembling amusement. Even knocked over, she really couldn't see how this could end that badly- but she was not free of anger. Without a word, she struggled to get free and to her feet once again.

-She moved, and he tried to compensate, only ending up with an unpleasant jab, as one of the unseen bones of her body hit at his stomach. But it was good enough, he'd knocked her over atleast, and quickly he tried to keep her down, scurrying to try and bring his body over hers. Attempting to weight her down with his body, though the task was harder then he imagined due to her struggling.

He didn't know how strong she was, how versed she was in actual fighting, but at the moment he was in the zone and didn't care. He'd taken blows before, and could do so again. All he needed to do was pin her properly. Then he could decide what to do with her.-

Ah, the awkward pin seemed to be a help for her- though a veritable pain in the side. He was not at as much an advantage this way, it seemed, and as it would turn out neither was she. With an awkward twist, Mleli tried to position herself to pull herself away from beneath him as he positioned himself to hold her down. Claws extended, she really only made it a little harder to be pinned but did not quite escape. It was obvious this was more serious than she gave credit for, but she'd die before she'd give the satisfaction of showing it.

She was not quite so well practiced outside of hunting, and found that her initial struggling and twisting had left her in a poor position to turn easily and fight back- but that didn't stop her from trying. Though her paws were still free, her neck was more capable of free movement in her position. With a jerk of her head, she tried to fight back- be it headbutting him in some manner or snapping at him.

-A huff of air escaped him as her attack landed, hand smacking into his lower jaw, causing a sting to ring through his head. Growl sounding momentarily, until it as well rang that pain harder, he lifted his front paws long enough to crash them down against her shoulder blades, pushing his weight to try and pin her front half.

It was his ego that was inflatting now, growing more and more sure of himself with every little loss of motion she suffered. Slowly he let his claws unseath, pressing against her back only hard enough to let her know that they were there, and to stop struggling before she dug them in herself. Finally a laugh rang from him, a mean and cruel taunt as he tried to steady himself.- "Beat a god did you? Lying piece of trash."

The hit to his lower jaw did go perfectly, for she too felt the strike- but the knowledge that she'd fought back, even a little, was enough to help her get over her own pain. However, the action cost her the free motion of anything below her neck- and she did her best to keep her head turned to glare at him. Her ego did suffer as it became clear that physical strength was not something she really had, especially over Tego. Her arrogant mind did not let her accept only that- and she was certain if she had been more prepared she would not be in the situation she was in.

At the feeling of his claws against her back and the laugh, she ceased in her struggle for freedom. She was trapped, and they both knew it now. However, the only response to his accusation of lying was an ambiguous smirk. It was unclear whether it meant she had or had not lied about that. Defiant to the end, she jerked her back in an attempt to inflict the potential-damage from Tego's claws upon herself. He could threaten, but she would not let him have that control. What damage could be inflicted upon her by her own struggling was now a sign she still had some control, and that she would not give into the threats. Everything except those claws were beyond her control now, though.

-The smirk didn't matter. He had her pinned tight and he was revealing in the feeling. And as she didn't answer he drew his head down, readying himself to bit down on her tender neck flesh. To make her beg for mercy.

But he was caught off guard as she moved, driving his claws against her back.- "What the hell?" -He shifted uncomfortably, eyes narrowing at her. She wasn't begging at all. Flabbergasted he stared at her, not relenting nor moving forward.- "Trying to get yourself killed?"

"Can't live with the fact I beat you?" -It wasn't any fun if she didn't give up. If he couldn't dominate over her.. then he wasn't proving his point.-

She flinched at the feeling of the claws, but also saw the surprise in his eyes. Unfortunately, she was not given any chance to remove herself from the situation. This was not going to get her anywhere.

"Not killed," she snapped, her voice a bit forced at first. She was obviously uncomfortable, and no longer quite as confident, "Just reminding you of what I can still control." Her steel blue eyes narrowed at him, and this time stayed still. She would only get free now if he made a mistake or let her now, and she knew it.

Her steel blue eyes narrowed at him, and this time stayed still. She would only get free now if he made a mistake or let her now, and she knew it.

-He was silent for a long moment, peering at those narrowed cold eyes. Still finding a way to get control.. Noone fought him like she did. They always gave out long before now.

His mind flickered to the lioness from before. The one he'd raped and left for trash across the jungle floor. He bet Mleli wouldn't be able to find any control in that situation. HE was the one in control, the one with all the power. She'd whimper and cry finally. Be as broken as she'd left him that day so long ago.

Grimacing meanly he stared once more at those eyes, shifting to try to gain better reach of her back end. Beaten, broken. Like that stupid tramp lioness.

His eyes flicked to the lioness again, picturing Mleli's brown and white speckled figure lying there instead and suddenly he stopped. Could he do that? Could he bear even seeing that? Sure he was hellbent on breaking the icon from his past.. but did he even really WANT to do it? She'd made him what he was..

He'd been waiting for this day and yet... He couldn't do it. Seeing her broken wouldn't bring him condolence. Maybe a sick momentary pleasure but.. to have that whole symbol of strength and power crush down.. He couldn't do it.

Sheathing his claws once more, he growled his voice so low that the words might have been hard to make out.- "You only have the control that I let you have."

-Snapping quickly he bit hard into the soft flesh below her shoulder, before releasing his jaws, and pulling himself from her, freeing her completely.-

Mleli stared coldly at Tego as he furiously tried to find a way to gain complete control, and remained still no matter how he moved. She was not completely surprised by any movement he made, until he suddenly sheathed his claws and growled out what she was sure she misheard. She gasped when suddenly she was bitten into, and by some reflex to move away fromt he source of pain she attempted to jerk away- only making the wound worse than it needed to be.

Then she was left, free but wounded. And that was probably the worst thing he could have done to her, for reliquishing the control he had and letting her go was, to the leopardess, an act of pity. She did not want his pity.

"Coward," she hissed, though not without moving herself and pushing herself to her feet. It was not an easy task, for though he did release her she'd still be held down awkwardly and injured, but she did it.

"I've always been that, now haven't I?" -He spat, the words and her body at her, before withdrawling further, carrying himself a few steps from her as he cast eyes back over his shoulder.-

"Give it up. I won and you lost." -He suddenly felt tired.. fatigued, the adreniline in his body draining as quickly as it'd filled him. He braced himself for some sort of attack, but didn't defend from it either, steps pulling him further and further away from her.- "You're just as pathetic as any of those other girls Mleli. Go find a man to take care of you."

Mleli watched him furiously as he walked away and declared himself the winner. She gritted her teeth and couldn't hold back a growl at his words, and her legs itched to lunge at him, to do something she knew was rather foolish.

"Real men are hard to come by," she hissed, which seemed to be the only way she was able to speak at the moment, "I'd almost thought I'd finally found one, but boy, was I wrong." The leopardess meant in no way that she was looking for a man to take care of her, or that she needed one- instead she was merely stating the facts as she saw them. She was starting to think that, as pathetic as Kifuno was, he was the best male she'd ever meet- and he was a snake.

"Woe is you." -A simple smirk and musing, before the black and white leopard once again began to move. Hopefully she'd take the hint to leave, and keep herself out of his territory out of fear for her ego. Hopefully he wouldn't have to tell her again. His tail flick violently.

His retreat was a calm one, and his ears flicked up gently to catch any words she might throw, even as he began to dissapear into the foliage.-

Mleli watched Tego leave, somehow becoming more furious that he was not responsive and was so willing to just walk away like that. She took a step forward as if she were about to go after him, but the release of weight on one paw shifted it to the injured leg and she knew even if she tried it'd be useless. Not to mention how it would look to chase after him.

With a final growl, she turned and marched herself back to her tree. She ignored the pain and just walked.

Teach me to fly - Limbuko and Boma

Quote:
The young goddess lay sprawled out her multicolored face pressed to the earth as she took in its smell. She dug into the earth with one of her antlers leaving thick lines in the soft earth. Her two-toned wings shimmered in the soft orange glow of dusk. The lioness had slunk away from Mtima and the watering hole that she used to clean her eyes and was unsure if she was still in the Pridelands.

She was not used to such a thing as the sun and each time she lifted her head to look her pupils retracted and she had to look away. This world was different from the one she knew. She was used stagnant water and the glow of mushrooms and minerals beneath the earth.

The insecurity she felt by not understanding where she was, was starting to eat at her and from time to time she would lift her head to look at the tall grasses. Her life beneath the earth was less complicated, but then again she did not really remember any other way? She had met more people in this life than in any of her others.

-Lim streched lazily, pulling his lilac body long across the ground, before he once again began his trek through the golden grasses.

He wasn't exactly certain of where he was, having landed and promptly settled to nap late in the night. But it hadn't really bothered the carefree god, and he took the mystery as a sort of adventure, and game. Walking until he could find some landmark of familiarity.

As of yet none had come, and he was feeling mildly miffed at the lack of life he'd seen such far. But no matter.. until he found someone else, he had the golden sun and the golden grass.

Feathers spreading out wide, he happened along until something caught his eye. Shimmer, reflection of something? It must be a water source of some kind.

Smile growing with the thought of a quick dip, he picked up the pace, heading towards the unsuspecting goddess.-

Boma'burudi's eyes widened as she lifted her unfocused gaze to the large feathered thing wandering through the grasses. Some odd bird? she thought as she watched the brightly colored feathers dance through the grass.

"H..he..llo?" She called softly her voice was gravelly like an old blues singers, ruffling her feathers together causing the sound of eloquently clashing swords, an odd sound that could not be associated with anything but her.

The thought that the feathers could be connected to anything dangerous never crossed the goddess's mind; after all she knew little of the world above. Grinning to her self she shifted her body to a sitting position, her paws tucked neatly beneath her.

-Suddenly the reflection was gone, and replaced with a sound that was quite foreign, and he paused in his tracks for a moment. Ears twitching softly, he only barely caught the voice. Unfamilar.. and yet.. it held that same deep huskiness as Mama's had. A female was it?

Well that was just as good as any pond.

Lifting himself proudly, he spread his feathers vainly outward, letting his silver eyes glance as the grasses parted and the vision of the female set before him.

Not only a female.. but a goddess. And she glittered fiercely in the sun! Smile pulling larger against his maw, he greeted her happily.- "Why hello there dear."

"Hello there," her voice rumbled from within her, more confident than before. This lilac figure was certainly not a bird! He was a god, and one that she had never met before, "I am Boma'burudi, Boma for short."

She easily warmed up to new things, she was so used to seeing the same thing over again that the new god was lucky she did not search every inch of him then and there. Raising to her feet the gems along Boma's body shined in the light. She could easily be mistaken for a disco ball if she wasn't careful! She towered over most mortals but amidst gods she was usually average size.

"May I ask your name?" the glint in her eye was unmistakably curious, she really wished she could look over every inch of him.

-His delight grew with her obvious excitment and pleasantness, his last few meetings having been a little more tedious. And he quickly braced the short distance between them, until he stood only a length or two before her.- "Limbuko, though Lim is perfectly fine too."

-Has he known her wish he would accepted in a heartbeat, in fact revealed in and enjoyed the sensation as she searched him over. But for now all he saw was the curiousity, and that beautiful glimmer of her wings, and the many jewels that bedecked her body. He wasn't sure what she was the goddess of, but he didn't have to know to enjoy the sight of her, and the aura she emitted.

Eyes lingering a little too long to be polite on her sleek side, he purred softly in addition.- "You can ask anything you'd like."

"I would fear that I'd ask a wrong one," she blushed furiously at his attention. It had been some time since the goddess of the underworld saw the light of day, but a much longer time since she saw a god, "promise you will not laugh at my silly questions?" she purred playfully in her gravel voice.

Without waiting for his promise she began her questioning, "What are you the god of? Simple enough, but also, have you been in this world long?" It was a question she was familiar with, she had just reentered the world and saw much of it with fresh eyes. Imagine the young goddess's suprise as she tore her way through the earth's surface and came face to face with the goddess of souls.

She had asked uncomfortable questions then, things about mortals, and about the older goddess's love. Mtima had taken a mortal lover and had two mortal children, something Boma was sure she could never do, the idea of watching her children pass on would break her heart.

-A laugh slipped from him before he could manage to stop it, his tail swaying in soft amusment, before finally he shook his head, trying to settle her worries.- "There are very few questions that would bother me to answer. None in fact that I can think of. I promise though."

-His eyes danced as she continued on, listening with soft interest. And he answered obligingly, pausing only for mild thought in between the questions.- "God of Pleasure at your service. Though it would seem your already happy enough without my help.

Lies - Danganyo and Limbua

Quote:
The green grass weaved and moved about under the hot sun. Circles it went, this way and that way the grass weaved. The tall grass swayed in the wind as the weaving path paused.

"Ow..."

It moved again. Around and around it went. Suddenly a clearing opened up to her and she sat herself down, panting. Where was she? What was she doing out here? She wanted to go home...she wanted to be under the shade of the many trees of the jungle. He cauliflower pelt was not used to this, no not at all. She had gotten lost in this thicket of tall grass, now if only there was a tree here to climb up on and just rest there, but no...not from where she could see.

This was all his fault...all his fault. Amile had ran off without her and now she was lost too. Great. However, she could not hate him for long, no, he liked him as a close friend. He was kind and sweet, innocent, but caring. He carried many aspects of a fine male.

As she looked around, the little female cub grew frustrated.

"DADDY HELP ME!"

she called out in an attempt to call her father, a God. She once heard him say that if her mother needed him just call for him. Perhaps if she called he'd come. Well, here's hoping.

-The cheetah yawn, streching his brown paws widely about from his body, lazily lifting his head, and then a paw to shield the sun from his sight.

He could hear shifting in the near distance, and he debated with himself whether or not he felt like seeing what it was. He was awfully comfortable already.. this cool little indention he'd dug into the soil was a nice repreive from the day. And it was probably some sort of prey animal anyway.

Laying his head back down he gave another wide yawn, ruffling his mane to try and hide the sun from his eyes.

But the shrill call snapped Danganyo's ears forward, and he grumbled gently. Lost prey animal? Wonderful.

Slipping to his feet once more, he quickly padded in the direction of the call, body nearly silent as he crept through the grasses. Until finally his head slipped from the grasses, paused as he spotted the oddly hued little creature. Not a prey animal at all. A cub?-

The female was startled by the sudden movements and shifting of the grass. Her body shivered violently being frightened of what it might be. Daddy was better at moving about, right? He could fly, so there was no need for the shifting grass, right? She played thoughts in her little head hoping it was him then it all stopped, the grass stopped. She turned around and saw another. She had never seen this sort of animal before. She had seen leopards, her mother, and lions, Kichea and her father (so she thinks). But what was this? Either way it was a male too! Her face light up instantly as she hopped off her rump and came straight over to him.

"Wow! Another one! What are you? Who are you?"

She attacked. The 'another one' comment was more of that he was another male. She quietly sat before him, her little pink tail curling around her paws as she looked up at him. She always tried to make herself presentable all thet ime.

"Hello, mister, can you help me out of here?"

She asked softly, her tone a bit of flirtatiousness. She smiled and purred quietly.

-An eyebrow cocked high as the little pastel creature acted against sense and began to near, air filling with the abounding of questions.-

"If I'm another, how can you not know what I am?" -He teased, more rhetorically then seriously, children after all, often said the weirdest things. And with a swish of his tail, one so similar to her own, he streched out for her to view his longer slender legs and body built for running, answering her question simply.- "A cheetah. King of the cheetahs in fact."

-Casting a wink her way he pulled himself up in a feigned idea of a regal pose.- "One shouldn't ask the name of royalty. But since I'm feeling generous today, it's Danganyo."

-Only finally did the thought of elder leopards hit him, and he turned his head gently, peering into the grasses around them. He wasn't in the mood for a fight, ecspecially not with one of his thicker massed cousins.- "Help you? Where are your parents little one?"

Limbua smiled and pulled herslef into a elegant and graceful posture she could muster. Her chest was out, her head was held up, her ears nicely laid, and her paws laced before her, her tail over them nicely.

"My name is Limbua, daughter of Hivu and....-uh- Daddy!"

She finished with a bit of hesitation. No one must know who her father was, they'd get strange ideas and treat her differently. She wanted to be known for her own self not her lineage to a God. Especially the only gentleman in this entire world. She was determined to make sure that everyone knew her name or at least some people.

"Royalty, huh? That's awesome. I guess that is why you are so handsome."

She purred softly as she moved closer to his side. He was handsome, his mane was nice and his fur was a nice color too. He really was king, if not, he should be. She purred softly.

"They're...." lie. lie! "sleeping right now. I just wanted to go off a little and got myself lost in this big place. Can a big, strong male help little me out?"

"I guess so." -He had to try not to laugh as he listened to the little cub. Either she'd been raised by parents with impecible manners, or with unabashed flirtation and affection. Either way, such adult words from one so little was nearly comical, and it made him actually debate on her request, instead of casting it aside like he usually would have.

Cubs were work and trouble after all.

Eyes drifting from his thoughts and downward to the cub as she moved close enough that he could feel the rumblings of her tiny purr he decided softly.- "Yeah sure, I guess I could help you." -Until I get bored of it of course. Eyes lifting to the savannah he pondered softly, this might actually be harder then he thought.- "What's it like where you live?"

"Well, where I'm from, there isn't a lot of grass like this place. Where I am from, wherever I was, I could see everything and anything. I have great balance, you know, and a pretty good hunter and climber too."

She purred, she was not completely lying though. She lived in a place where there was no grass like this. The grass in the jungle were short or covered by some other sort of vegitation. As for being able to see anything and everything, when she was up in the ssafety of the trees, she could. In fact she could sometimes peek up and see the clouds. That is if there was a nice sturdy branch up that high. Her home was the jungle. This was just a place she had never known, she was hoping to find Amile soon. However, on the bright side she could meet a lot more males too. The one before her was quite the male too.

She hopped to his side and kept a good close distance to him.

"What about you, Danganyo? Surely someone as nice as you must live in a place to get away from all those females, right?"

Innocent, no?

-He listened to the description thoughtfully, though of course it was very little help, and he cocked his brow quizically, answering her gloat with simple amusement.- "Is that so? Perhaps I'll let you hunt us down some lunch later then."

-His mind traced over the many places she could be talking about, having seen many of them in his trek across the savannah.- "Do you live in the desert perhaps? Or maybe near the mountains? Or perhaps in one of the rockier regions of the southlands?" -That's it.. it was probably the later of them.

His tail flicked softly as he watched her, trying hard to keep in this mind that this creature was indeed a child, and not just a tiny tiny adult.- "Danga is fine. Or Anyo"

-And he laughed, shaking his mane.- "On the contrary, I don't mind females at all. Seeing them at each place of port. But I travel alot anyway, and my pride has far more males then females."

Limbua chuckled and hopped along his side, purring happily to herself, almost a hum. She listened to the words that he spoke and watched him. He was so big and rather cute too. Maybe it was just his charm.

"Well, if you take me to a river, I would gladly hunt for us, Danga. As for where I am from, nowhere near where you are talkin' about. I'm from the jungle way over there," she spoke, looking back to the very very distant tree line of the vast jungle, her home. "But I am out here lookin' for someone."

SShe flicked her own tail and perked her ears forward. That was strange, what was a pride? Looking up to him again, she was determined to find out what a 'pride' is.

"What's a pride, Danga? I've never heard of it before. And if there are females there, wouldn't you want to be there to be with them and protect them?"

"Jungle..?" -Certainly not his first choice of places of go.. but luckily the cub didn't seem so keen on heading that way just yet, so instead he focused on her other request.- "A river huh? Yeah, I know one or two close by."

-Motioning, he turned gently to the east, taking very slow steps to make up for her tiny legs. Besides, slow steps meant no rush, no energy exersion. Ears perking lightly, she faltered for a moment.- "A pride? It's a group of people that live together. Usually they live in a set land, but my pride moves about."

-An amused chuckle touched him however at the later part. Protect? Indeed. There wasn't one girl out there that he'd risk his life for. Not that he'd met anyway.- "Those girls can take plenty good care of themselves. You have to be pretty tough to be in my pride. More often then not we're traveling alone or in tiny groups. gotta be strong enough to care for yourself." -Said Danganyo, Mr. Leach himself.-

Limbua chuckled. "Yup, the jungle, it's a nice place really. And the lake there....it's very pretty and just so-so beautiful. Not to mention the unique lions that you could meet there." the little cub smiled and remembered her father, Limbuko, and the Goddess that Kichea had mentioned once before. What was her name again? Kivu was it? She smiled and kept her eyes upon him. "If we go, I could try to catch a fish for you, Danga."

Her features seemed to brighten with the idea of a pride. It sounded really nice to be in one with other felines, other cubs to play with, fed with everyone else. "A pride....that seems really nice, Danga. A travelling one sounds pretty cool too, at least you all are together, right?"

Her ear twitched when she heard something crack behind her. Her fur bristled and her body instinctively moved toward the cheetah. She didn't know what it was, but she just felt better near a bigger, stronger, male to protect her. He would protect her right?

"There are some lions in my pride." -It was a matter of fact statement, more to keep the conversation going then anything, thought he added with an amused laugh.- "One of them even talks all funny. Something about 'This is the way pirates are SUPPOSED to talk'."

"Prides can be nice, when you get a lonely itch. Some of the members stick together constantly, but alot of us wander, and meet up back together from time to time. I like streching my feet, living off the land." -Aka mooching off of strangers that don't already know all his tricks. Not that the pride wasn't nice. But you saw a whole lot more and met way more people when you let the wind carry you solo.

His ears flicked upwards with the sound, eyes settling on the little one as she siddled up beside him, nose lifting to the try and catch the scent. Maybe it was something.. maybe it was nothing?-

Limbua flicked her tail and stayed close to the other male. Away from home like this, a stranger to these lands. If she went missing no one would know.... She was vulnerable.

"Well, a pride sounds like a big family and those to be with and protect. I would not mind going to one when I am older, I suppose. But for no... I got some things to do and some things to take care of, you know?"

She gave a hesitant purr that then became more confident. Her head looked around for the source of the noise and then swirved her head back.

"Some times I wonder if any place is safe on the ground...." she murred. "At least in the trees, I can see everything...."

-The trees.. He gazed at the little 'leopardess' curiously for a moment, pondering over the information. It would be neat to have an aerial view of something. So why was it that only leopards really got to take to the trees? He wondered if maybe he could convince someone he was a leopard?

Probably not though.. As much as he bulked his body and ruffled out his fur, he'd forever have these long cheetah legs. Not like that was a bad thing.. but still.. It was exciting to lie. To pull along a story for as long as you could, to watch the other person believe each word. And gently a coy smile played across his lips, pulling his own small lie across the little one once more.-

"Things to do sounds like a well enough plan. Being tied down isn't always the best. But when you do grow up, you could always join my pride. Being the king let's you let whoever you want in." -It was unlikely she'd ever find him again, find his pride to prove him wrong.- "We could use the color and skills I think. And I have final say anyway."

Limbua chuckled and smiled up at him. He was so sweet for offering such a thing. A king, he sounded nice, sweet, and somewhat noble. She dipped her head quickly.

"Thank you, sire, but I am only here to find someone close to me. After that, I am heading back home. I am sure my mother is worried about me. But thank you for the offer."

She purred and kept her pace close to his, her tail behind her and her head up high. She seemed almost untouchable, that feeling only because she had a 'king' beside her.

"I dun see myself ever leaving the forest, as long as my mother is alive and my father is well, I will always be with my family. But for now, I got a little journey to get out of the way. However, that shouldn't stop me from enjoying such..... gorgeous sights. You know? I think I've already seen one of them."

She chuckled and bounded a few paces ahead.

-Following after with a few long strides, he laughed just a little. So grown up for one so little. But her plan sounded like a good one. Had he been close to his family he might have tried to return to them too. But he couldn't say he even remembered his parents faces.-

"Well then, I guess it's more important I help you find who you're looking for. Instead of where you come from."

-Tail swaying back and forth he pondered softly. Probably another leopard? Of which he saw very little of, but he offered nonetheless.- "What does this someone look like?"

Limbua paused mid-step and looked back at him. Describe Amile to him? Help her find him.... that would surely speed things up and get her back home with her family. After all, she was starting to get a little homesick. What has Kumbuko been up to? Probably playing in the trees or fishing right at this moment. Nac must be making something for mother. Mother must be.... well, worried sick about her. Well, with the help, she'll get home.

"Well, he's a little taller than I am. He has these longs scranny legs and his fur is all white. He has some blue, but it's the white that he tends to take care of more. He's fast too so he should be running around somewhere.... I just don't know where he is right now is all. I'm still new to the savanna so I don't even know where I am or where anything is for that matter."

Her voice was so sure and confident. She was being truthful and trying to be strong. She was alone now, there was no family or friends behind her to keep her up. Maybe.... this one here could help hold her up.

Blind? - Ahaiyuta, Matsailema, and Uma

Quote:
The deep sky blue lioness prowled across the lands near the Pridelands, twitching her tail irritably. Her fur was standing on end, the tuft of her tail bushed out like a frightened kitty. But she was far from being scared. She was annoyed. Her last run in with a male did not end very well, or at leas the way she had hoped.

How she wanted to just claw into him, but her other half wouldn't have allowed her to mar that two-faced lion. She would find him again and give him a piece of her mind! She might not be able to see through these light teal eyes, but she could still use her nose.

She moved back the way she had come, half-tempted to do just that. Inside her other half was telling her how foolish this was and that she should calm down before she should do anything rash. She growled low, pacing back and forth, feeling the tall grass brush against her white underbelly. She need to release this boiling anger and do it soon.

-The twins had been traveling for a little while now, their bodies seeming to spring up with size everyday that they moved, as their inexperienced looped them away from and towards the pridelands in search of their parents. Time and excersize had done the two well as already their youngly adolscent bodies towered over most, making them almost apear to be adults, were it not for that sprig of mane, and those boyish actions that spoke volumes.

They were inexperienced, but certainly not incapable of taking care of each other. And today Ahai had tredded away from Matsai for awhile, prowling the land around him for something to snack on, before the two set off again.

Padding through the grasses with little care about being quiet or sly, he sniffed at the air softly. Surely something was around that he could sink his teeth into?-

Uma was too drawn into her own world to really notice that her space had been invaded. She was caught up in a verbal battle between herself. "Just let me go over there and make sure he'll never breed again." Her face was contorted into a sneer, full of anger and with a calculating gleam about her features before it smoothed out to appear young and carefree, "You do that and you'll have the whole pride down on our heads in a heart beat."

She stalked back away from the looming formation. She stood still, unsheathing her claws in front of her with the pads up. She curled her paw before her like she was crushing something, "You should have let him escort you. Or you should have let me talk more." She wasn't really angry at that lion, she was more angry with herself. But it was more satisfying to tear into someone else instead of yourself. She needed to keep her weaker self if they were to get anywhere better than the rouge lands.

-Despite his own noise Ahaiyuta wasn't oblivious to the sounds of another in the near distance as he walked. And as the obviously female words touched his ears, he couldn't help but groan a little silently, claws subconciously unseathing, before they once again pulled with his paws.

Maybe this wasn't so bad though? It didn't have to be a lioness.. it could just as easily be some female prey animal. Pausing momentarily, he swiveled his ears to the sound, locating the direction of the sound, disreguarding the strange words completely.

With a soft rumbling in his throat, he pressed his tense muscles forward, trotting quickly towards the sound with his head held low. Pounce first, ask questions later.-

"And let that pompous, philanderer lay a paw on my..." "Oh hush you!" An ear twitched, trying to catch the sound with her slightly heightened hearing sense. She whispered quietly to herself, "did you hear that?" "I didn't hear..." "Quiet," she hissed.

She crouched low to the ground. She was downwind and couldn't catch a scent, even after trying a few times. She twitched her tail, waiting. Waiting. She pushed off with her back legs with a growl, her front paws out before her and claws exposed.

-Talk, talk, talk. The sounds drew him to her exact position with ease that made it unnecessary for him to even see her. Azure pelt hidden in the grasses, he moved until finally one word rang out, and wide smirk crossed his maw.

Quiet huh? A little late for that. Springing from his back paws he soared out of the grass and hopefully at the 'prey' he'd be seeking, eyes finally settling in on the creator of the voice.

A lioness. And she was ready for him too. Had Ahai actually thought out his action perhaps he could have avoided the whole thing. But heck.. when was the last time Ahai really thought out something?

Too late for him to stop, so instead he braced himself in that instant for collision with her claws. Bulky body smashed into hers, before falling and stumbling backwards once more, unhappy growl sounding from the young lion.-

She had landed on top of him, jarred completely from paws to shoulders. He smelled sweet just like that other lion she had left, but the deeper feeling was different with this one. Her anger rolled back in her at the thought that she would run into another lion with the same sickly sweet smell. She growled quietly with a small sneeze, her tail twitching violently with the thought of just tearing into his throat.

"Now now. Keep your temper. Beside, I don't like getting blood on my pelt. I can't see where any of it lands and it takes hours t..." Uma cut off her other half's voice in her head as she raised a paw, claws fully extended, ready to tear into the flesh that was beneath her.

-A huff of air escaped him as the female stumbled and landed on top of him and for a split moment Ahai was surprised motionless. But the surprise quickly wore off, and as she began to speak, he began to draw his hind legs back.

The words that errupted were nonthreatening enough, weak even, but the aggression that rang out visibly only bolstered him on. Ahai raised his paws to shield himself while giving a good hard kick with his back legs, in hopes of getting rid of the offending weight, words grumbling in an unpleasant growl.- "Get the hell OFF of me!"

"Ahai?"

A second blue form slipped through the grass in pursuit of its reflection, white-tipped paws patting the dirt in an unconscious stalk. He wasn't really trying for stealth, but all his life he hand tredded carefully, unwilling to accidentaly brush up against another living creature.

The tall stalks parted around him as he moved, creating a soft rustling sound that did nothing to mask the sudden sounds of conflict nearby. Matsai started as his ears flew forward and his head jerked up into the air.

"Ahai! Where are you?" He called out, breaking into a trot in the direction of the noise. They'd been traveling for only a short time, he couldn't believe he'd let himself get parted from his twin already! This was bad, very bad... Feeling a desperation he kept from his face, the blue lion raced towards his other half.

She felt the pressure of his back paws to her chest and then she was flying through the air to land hard on her side on the ground with a sound, "Ooof." She was stunned to say the least. Stunned. Annoyed. And angry. She started to growl, until she heard another voice call out.

Great. Another male. She'd take out both of them. She'd... Those thoughts were instantly replaced when Monifa managed to clamber to the front, shoving the seething Uma back down and out the way. She whimpered softly, now feeling the pain to her ribs, hip, shoulder... It all hurt. Or that's how she felt. And of course, she'd have to deal with it till Uma cooled her jets.
"Are you okay?"

-He was pleased and relieved as the female's figure was thrust from him, and quickly he dragged his body up, bracing for the female as if SHE'D been the one to start the whole altercation.

Ears twitching with the familar voice, Ahai barked a simple call, before settled himself dangerously onto his front paws, trying to look as threatening as he could manage.- "I'm here Matsai!"

-Claws extended to grate against the dry soil, he beared his teeth once more as he gave the lioness a once over, his mind reeling once more as she reacted unexpectedly, whimpering and coiling. He didn't know what she was up to... why she was acting so strange. And that in itself aggravated him..- "I'M perfectly fine. What the hell's wrong with you?"

Matsai sighed inwardly in relief at the sound of his twin's voice. He sounded ok, if angry. Not really suprising, since Ahai was often angry or upset over something. He was a volitle version of the cold, reserved Matsai. Since the other male didn't seem to be in real trouble, Matsai slowed as he approached, stepping out of the grass only after he'd taken note of where each lion stood and what they were doing.

Silent, the blue lion padded to stand at his twin's side, green eyes flicked to Ahai for a moment before locking on the female. He had a lot of questions, but they'd have to wait till he made sure there was no danger here.

She gingerly put a paw beneath her, trying to push herself up. It was usually Uma who could withstand attacks, but she was a delicate flower. She didn't need this kind of abuse. She smiled, looking straight passed the two as she spoke quietly to herself, "Funny. That's the same question I ask myself every morning I wake up."

Her legs wobbled beneath her and she had to lock her joints in place so she couldn't fall over. Her blue pelt was completely covered in dirt and dust, giving a dull glaze to her beauty. The whites of her toes and underbelly was tan on one side where she had fallen. She felt like an absolute mess.

"I was merely talking to someone when I heard that 'Ahai' start sneaking up on me," she said with a slight whimper.

-His brow twitched irritantly with her first statement, grumbling internally about his luck. Obviously this lioness was as 'touched' as Belial was. What else could explain the weird words and opposing motions that kept meeting them? And why the hell wouldn't she look at them?

He wanted to hop forward and slap that weak little body she was showing right now, but it was at that moment that his twin appeared from the grasses, pausing at his side. And he settled just a little, his fuse extended for the time being.

However at the 'accusation' he merely scoffed, lifting his body from it's crouch to a more comfortable stance.- "Perhaps if you hadn't left your claws at me, I would have simply passed you by."

Matsai stared at the lioness with a blank expression, though his maw twitched in what could have been a sneer. Look at her... pathetic. Dirty, ragged, thin, unbalanced... Basicly everything he despised about rogues. What a tramp...

"Are you well, Ahaiyuta?" Matsai said softly, his voice cold and emotionless. Those leef green eyes of his soon left the lioness to scan the area, suddenly wondering about whoever it was that she'd been talking to. She'd said she was talking to someone... They couldn't have gotten far if Ahai had jumped the lioness shortly after.

Golden-tufted tail flicking idly back and forth, he let a frown mar his face.

She could feel Uma prowling in her mind, raging mad with how childish this lion was being. What a fool. Neither one of them knew that she was the only thing barricading the most dangerous part away from them. But she hated getting lion's blood on her pelt. It had been a fear of hers ever since Uma had killed their first teacher.

She hated feeling dirty. She hated not having a place to call home. Hated that everything had been ripped away from her. Everything. Deep in her mind she could hear Uma cooing to her,
"Take everything from them. Everything. Make them suffer like you have suffered."

She shook her head at Uma, dust flying in a cloud above her head. "How was I suppose to know if you were friend or foe? I can't see you," she whined. "There are scary lions out here that like to play tricks with your head. I'm not willing to fall for it again."

She finally gritted her teeth and shook all the dirt from her pelt that had gathered from that fall. She needed a bath now because of that oaf. Her Mistweaver sleekness became more apparent after she was cleaner looking. "Do all of you Pridelanders enjoy playing with a lioness like she's some sort of toy? You know, we have feelings too..."

She caught Matsai's word and couldn't help but feel like she was the bad guy. He had the same sickly sweet scent to him, now that he was closer. Everything that came to her senses was the same, but he had a mixture of dirt tossed in there as well. She didn't trust him. "Oh sure. Ask him but don't ask the one that looks like she took the worse blow from the bulky brute."

"I'm fine" -He bolstered and puffed himself up at his brother's inspection, ego and the inseverity of the occurance forcing out the next words.- "Not even a scratch on me."

-He scoffed, oblivious still to her handicap, despite the way she'd worded it.- "As soon as I was out of the grasses you could have seen me. It's not my fault you weren't prey. And that your 'friend' ran away before you."

-Taking a step forward, having grown tired of the female, Ahai turned to look to his twin, silently asking if he wanted to leave, only to pause when she mentioned 'pridelanders'. How would she know that? Not that that was bad.. better then being a nasty rouge.. but still. His glare returned to her once more.-

Satisfied by his survey of the area that there were no other lions waiting to attack them, Matsai turned his gaze back to the rogue lioness, his eyes narrowing. Slowly, he stepped closer to her, almost stalking her with how carefully he approached. Her words and strange actions made him wonder... and he came to a decision.

"I ask him because he's my brother, and more important to me than anyone will ever be." He said softly, eyes trained on her. "What's your name? And just who were you talking to? There's no one here but you and us..." His statement got more and more true as he got closer. There were only three sets of paw prints in the area... and only lion scents that he could pick up.

There was something very wrong here, and the more he thought of it, the more he was sure there was only one way to get at the truth.

"No s**t they're brothers. They're too wrapped up in their own world to take the time and master other senses. Not like you, my pet," Uma cooed again in her head. She was right. She was better than these Pridelanders. Why was she being so weak and whiny? She moved her head to start cleaning and then the pain reminded her exactly why.

"Jee, really? Brothers? I never would have been able to tell. A bat could tell faster than I could," she said sarcastically. She was in pain and her tone of voice was turning very bitter.

She took a paw and brought it to her maw, removing the dust there before she even thought of take caring of her face.
"I was talking to myself, trying to make up my mind," she said between licks. "We can't all travel with company." She pointedly made sure not to say her name because Uma would not be happy if she only gave her name. And others tended to look at her strange when she said it all together.

-Matsai didn't take his look apparently, and Ahai rolled his shoulders softly as his twin became interested in the encounter, questions raising into the afternoon air. So his eyes turned curiously to the female once more, inspecting her more throughly this time.

She was tiny, her build sleek and smaller then the pridelander lioness', she was probably even older then him he'd wager. Her blue was interesting though.

As her rude words lifted, he snorted a little piping up with a smirk, golden tipped tail beginning to sway softly back and forth. He didn't seem nearly so worried as Matsai. It wasn't like the two of them couldn't take her, piece of cake.- "Perhaps you don't have anyone to travel with because you DO talk to yourself."

]Matsai shook his head gently as he stepped closer. "A bat probably could have..." He said softly as he stood before her, staring into her eyes. He moved slightly, noting that she seemed to give no reation to what he did. "In fact... I think bats see a good deal more than you do. Now... hold still..."

Before he could chicken out, the adolescent reached forward with a paw, letting the pads brush against her foreleg. His whole body trembled as he prepared himself for what he knew was coming, fear making his heart beat fast. He could feel the visions building in the depths of his mind, boiling up to overwhelm him...

The slim blue body went tense and shook hard, eyes gone unfocused. His lips pulled back from his fangs in a fierce, silent snarl as he watched the visions unfold. A soft sound of pain slipped from him as he tore his mind free, his body mirroring it as Matsai jerked backwards, sitting down hard and nearly tipping over onto his back. His eyes stared, unseeing, as he panted, struggling to regain his equilibrium and his mask of ice. Terror stook stark on his face, shudders sweeping his form.

Her face shifted to a permanent calculating sneer and made a blind swipe towards the offender who had touched her. Monifa had been so set off guard that Uma had struck the same time that "Matsai" touched a paw to her fur. "How -dare- you touch me," she growled, crouching low to the ground and listen more intently than earlier.

If there was one thing Uma hated the most, it was others trying to get to close to Monifa. She was hers. No one else could have her. She listened carefully to his panting, pinpointing his location before stalking towards him, her maw twisted in a sickening grin.
"Who do you think you are to touch me?" Her steps seemed to echo loudly in her ears as she drew closer and became angrier. She scuffed her front paws before her, feeling the ground until she brushed his tail. Her blue and white paws came down on it and she growled low again. "How -dare- you."

-Ahai's maw drew back in an unpleasant snarl at the action, body nearly jerking at the self inflicted pain his brother warrented, trying hard not to smack the mirroring figure away to save him from his action.

But already his attention was snapping to the female, as once again her character twisted, intimidating stance and words leaking from her. Growl rumbling from his throat in warning, he stalked up alongside his brother, in fact almost in front of him. He might be down for awhile thanks to his 'brillant idea', something Ahai still didn't understand, despite the gradually familar thing it was becoming. But while he was down Ahai wasn't going to let anything happen to his twin.- "Oh shut up. It's not like he hurt you or anything."

Lurking back, Matsai scrampled away from the lioness, whincing as her claws scraped down his tail. He landed behind the conforting form of his brother and crouched there, trembling as the pain slowly faded. Damn, why did they always do that to him? Well... at least he'd found out what he'd sought.

"Crazy lioness..." He hissed. "Worse than a march hare..." More grumbled rolled from him as he struggled to his paws, shaking his head to clear it of the lingering visions.

"Monifa, Uma, whoever the hell you are. I dare because I'm protecting myself and my twin by it. And who am I? I think being a prince does a hell of a lot for that, considering you're only a rogue." He snorted and flicked his tail, his eyes sliding towards her. "Besides, like Ahai said, its not like I hurt you or anything... I got the brunt of that from touching your dirty hide. So just calm down and get off your high perch."

Her attention snapped to Ahai, those sightless orbs staring straight past him but her smile sickly sweet and full of malicious intent. "You dolt, you only think that pain can come physically." She growled, the fur on her shoulders bristling as the other one scampered from her reach.

"Stay away from her. She's mine. MINE!" she roared loudly. Her tail was flicking harshly behind her and she extended her claws, preparing for the worst. "You can't have her. Just because everything was handed to you there does not mean it will be so easy." She snorted, trying to remove the sweet stench.

-Ahai really wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but as his brother named two individuals, and as the lioness began her insane tirade the pieces finally all slipped together. She WAS insane. Just their luck.

But, insane or not, he wasn't afraid of her, and he stood his ground as she threatened, crouching gently in case she should come forward. He'd be the one knocking her onto her a** this time. Tail lashing, he rumbled.- "She's ALL yours rogue. Don't delude yourself to think we want anything to do with you or 'her'."

-He cast an eye back softly to make sure Matsai agreed with his words as he spoke them.- "Just move. And we'll be on our way out of here. Wouldn't want your scent to rub off on us."

Matsai shook his head, sighing in exasperation. He agreed with his twin. They didn't want anything to do with these 'two' lionesses. There was enough crazy in their family with their brother Belial.

"We're not here to hurt you. We're just traveling, searching for a pair of lions. You're just slowing us down, and we'll be happy to be free of you." The blue lion said cooly, finally slipping back into his emotionless facade. A mask, just a wall to keep others out, but it had its purposes in other ways.
