It'd been an uphill battle to get this far, really. Memetuka finally set her mind to the task, she would at least go and see her sister's daughter and offer her condolences and an apology. She would do what she could to try to redeem herself, though little in her mind would make up for abandoning her daughter, no matter how old she'd been. She would do her best, though, to make up for leaving the rest of her family. That started by returning to her pride, her home.
After a long pause at the base of Pride Rock clawing idly at the dirt path, Meme finally made her way up towards the den. She would wait outside quietly until everyone started to wake up and the queen happened to come out. The lioness couldn't imagine how she might determine who that was, she'd have to go by her memory of Mufasa and Sarabi. And so Memetuka settled in a comfortable seated position to wait. Kamilika, she thought, reminding herself of the name that Avellano had told her. She'd find her, Memetuka would come home today if she had to wait all day.

 "Maaaaaamaaaaaa!" -The singsong wail broke the morning silence as the creme colored cub burst from the den mouth, padding out playfully as her voice continued it's noisy 'song'.--Kami slunk out of the cave, embarrased and sheepish smile laving her maw as she softly apologized to those that had been stirred by her daughter. And as soon as she was outside, she padded quicky to the young one, offering a mild.- "Shhhh.. some are trying to sleep."
-It was a sad truth that Kami could very seldom say no to, or scold her children. It would seem even Ta had problems with the task. So the children were free to run rampant. And thought this morning Sarakiva did quiet down, a knowing smile touched her tiny maw. Mama would be forced into playing with his this morning. Even if it was just until more of the rock member woke up.-

Memetuka tensed slightly at the sound of a cub, and her eyes widened a bit when the source of the cry came from the dens with a very familiar color in her fur. She couldn't help but stare, and then rose to her feet when the cub's mother emerged- another very familiar color. Hesistant to interupt, she took a small step closer certain that her presence would be noticed. This had to be who Meme was looking for, though she had not been told anything about cubs.
"E-excuse me," she called, trying not to look as nervous as she felt.

-Kami certainly wouldn't have been a hard one to pick out. She was after all the spitting female image of her father, girth included, though minus the regal posture. In fact Kami looked quite clueless as her eyes drifted to the stranger, having not expected anyone other than her daughter outside.
Faltering only for a moment, she bowed her head in soft greeting.- "Mmm.. yes? Is there something I can help you with?"
-The stranger's coat wasn't familar. Well.. the soft golden was.. but it was a figure she'd never seen in her life. And yet somehow it seemed familar.. She couldn't put her paw on it.-
-Butting her head gently against her mother's leg, she weaved around her forepaw, before settling alongside the large apendage, staring at the stranger curiously.- "Your eyes and underside look like mine!" -She stated matter of factly, ears settling back against her head.-

There was no doubt in Memetuka's mind that she had found at least one child of Mufasa and Sarabi, for there was no chance of such a lioness existing by mere coinsidence. Not to mention that her cub looked as if she was showing off the unseen half of her mother's lineage. She couldn't help but stare, but quickly moved her eyes to the ground beside her apologetically.
Now that Memetuka was here, she had no idea what she wanted to say or what she wished to explain. For as much as she'd thought about this, she hadn't put enough planning into the actual conversation. Not the beginning of it, at least. She offered both mother and daughter a small, somewhat anxious smile and a bow of her head.
"My name is Memetuka," she started by introducing herself, "I- I came here to find the queen, Kamilika."

"Wow you're a good looker! You must have played alot of hide and seek!" -Standing, drawn by curiousity, Sarakiva padded the short distance before her mother could say anything to stop her. Puffing herself with playful 'regalness', she giggled.- "One day I'm going to be the queen and you can come visit me too!"
-Attempting to bite back a laugh at her daughter's comment, Kami simply bowed her head once more.- "I'm Kamilika. Nice to meet you Memetuka."
-Still unable to fit the connection herself, having never seen any of her mother's side, she offered carefully, fishing for her reasoning to be here this morning.- "I've not seen you around I don't think.. Are you wanting to join our pride?"

Memetuka relaxed a little bit as Sarakiva commented and came closer to her, it was difficult to be so tense when they seemed so friendly. Not to mention it was some comfort to the old lioness to see something familiar in them and to know that she must have found the right lioness. She smiled meekly at the cub.
"Queen? You look perfect for the part," she commented, and then looked back to Kami. There was a brief pause before she answered her question.
"I would like that very much," she answered quietly, wondering what and how to explain her situation, "I was a member of this pride a long time ago, I've lived on the borders for some time now. I- I heard about your father and your mother.." Meme was working her way to another reason she had returned, and though she didn't notice it there was a slight change in her tone when she mentioned Kami's mother. She did her best not to look back at the ground.

-She beamed at the comment, tracing nonsensical steps back and forth between the two adults, seeming to pace simply for the joy of moving.- "My brother looks JUSSSST like me! So he must look the part of king too! King and queen plus queen and king. Four!" -She babbled her 'nonesense' happily, recieving only a mildly sheepish smile from her mother.-
-Kami nodded softly to the lioness, thinking it nothing more then a routine acceptance, until the words extended onward. Used to be a member? Mother and father? Her curiousity perked softly, and she narrowed her eyes softly in the deem light, making out the features of the elder lioness.- "Ohhh. Did you know my parents?"

Meme's attention went to the babbling of the cub as she unintentionall sought to avoid the topic she had brought up. It seemed that the little one had a twin, and that both would become leaders? It seemed like a strange idea to her, but certainly the Queen knew what she was doing. She looked up from Sarakiva back to Kamilika, hesitating in her answer.
"I knew them," she nodded, looking back to the pacing cub, "She is- was- my sister." Memetuka's purple eyes kept on Sarakiva as she went happily back and fourth. She was kind of surprised that she got it out.

"I have four sisters" -She piped up for no other reason then talking. In fact, it seemed now that she had very little interest in what was going on, other then when she could throw in her own little bits of information.- "Illuae, Mzuza, Semine, and Safuma."
-Kami was not so oblivious, but had not expected the words that drifted to her ears this early morning. Her mother's sister? With exception to her fathers half-sister, she'd yet to meet any of her aunts and uncles. And the sudden expulsion of knowledge reeled her, causing her eyes to widen.
She could see the resembelnce now.. catch the tiny traces of her mother in this lioness' figure. But she was still stricken to silence, and when finally the words slipped out they were almost a whisper.- "Mother's... sister?"
-And suddenly her eyes turned solemn, similarily turning away from the lioness in mutual pain. She'd lost a sibling long ago. It was a pain almost as great as losing her parents.- "I'm very sorry."

Memetuka couldn't hold back a small smile when Sarakiva listed off her sisters, noting that she was part of a rather big litter (and that was only half!). It was easier to avoid the queen's stare as she thought about what had been said, and to just continue to watch the cub but the lioness knew she'd have to look up sooner or later. When Kami said she was sorry, Meme sighed sadly.
"I- I ran away, and I never came back, I never got to apologize or explain," she trailed off, suddenly finding it easier just to let it all out. Kamilika was Sarabi's daughter, this was the closest she was going to get now, so Meme finally looked up, "I'm sorry." It was a simple apology, almost too simple. Memetuka was sorry for many things- for the loss Kami suffered, for the loss everyone surely felt, for what Meme herself had done, and for letting it all out on a lioness she just met and probably wouldn't understand entirely, even if offered the whole story.
Was this really helping, or just making a bigger mess?

-Kami was glad for now that her daughter seemed not to care about the conversation, and that no questions were raised at the conversation that had now turned somber.
Kami didn't ask for much, so often a mountain of guilt herself, she couldn't have looked anything but compassionate towards someone else's folly, and she simply nodded as the words fell upon her, offering mildly.- "It's alright. Mother would have understood.. Forgiven."
"She didn't ever give anything but love." -It was a thought statement, though soaked in truth. Her mother had given so much just to have her larger litter. Given up her health.. and yet never anything but a smile or loving word was ever given to her children. She was a saint.. Something Kami could never live up to... and suddenly her eyes drifted symphatatically to her aunt. She probably felt the same way.
It was then that it hit her.. that her curiousity had shoved ahead of her duty, and she added lightly.- "I'm sure it would bring her and father nothing but joy to look down and see that you're here with the family once again. That you're home once more."

As Kami spoke, Memetuka became aware that she'd already known these things but had wanted very much to hear them. It did not erase her regret or her sorrow at not having gotten a chance to see her face to face again. She kept her eyes on her niece, and finally she realized just how much she had missed her home, her family. She'd left out of shame and fear, and returned out of guilt- but now she knew why she wanted stay.
"I can stay?" she asked under her breath, and finally she managed to smile.

"Of courseeeee." -The cub huffed indigniantly.- "You have to visit me when I'm queen, 'member!"
-Kami laughed just a little, a soft sound of relief at the magic children seemed to hold within them. That so easily they could take an aire of sorrow, and make it sparkle with hope and life.
Gaining a serious gaze, she offered a soft sincere smile once more, answering herself.- "I would be delighted to have more of my family about again. So many of my brothers and sisters have headed out to make their own lives. It'd be an honor if you stayed."

Memetuka looked back at Sarakiva when she suddenly spoke up, and smiled at her as well, "I won't forget." Feeling better about the whole situation after the kind invitation to stay, and after she realized this was where she wanted to be, and belonged. She looked back to the queen, offering a bow of her head respectfully.
"I would like to stay, very much," Meme said gratefully, "Thank you."
