-A soft humming escaped the lithe cheetah male as he made his way through the grasses, perfectly contented with the warm day. Well mostly contented anyway. His stomach was beginning to turn, suggesting that before long it would begin to rumble. But at the moment that didn't bother him, and he shook the bits of his extra long mane fluff out of his eyes.
He was near the pridelands, it was a place he often visited because of the particularly gullible and giving members. Perhaps he'd be lucky enough to run along one today? But he didn't hold his breath for it.
Tail swaying as he hummed his quiet song to himself he slowed softly to linger in the shade of a tree for a few moments, lifting up on his back legs to get a better look at the savannah around him. Which way did he want to go..?-

The temptation to sleep was so overwhelming that she closed her grey-blue eyes and did doze off. How long she slept was something she didn't know. It was just that when she woke up there was some scruffy cheetah not far from her resting spot. Her lips curled downward in an expression of disgust and general dislike. For one, it was a cheetah, and for another point it was male. The only good thing about him was that he was smaller and weaker then her. If he bothered her, she could just scar him a little and force him away.
Idly she watched Danganyo, her eyes half-closed as she felt drowsiness come upon her once again. But now she would most certainly not fall asleep again, not with some stupid little cheetah wandering about. She would continue to think like that about him until he proved otherwise, and it was doubtful that he'd be able to with Baala's... prejudice against his gender and against his 'inferior' species. Baala was bigger, badder, and meaner. He was smaller, weaker, and in for a lot of trouble if he tried to play any games with her.

((XD He's certainly not going to prove her wrong))
-His golden eyes searched the area mildly, not particularly sure what he was looking for, other then a direction to continue. But when he saw the black splotch in the grass nearby a smirk touched his features. Perhaps it was his lucky day after all.
Settling back onto his paws he wondered if the creature had noticed his approach and hoped it hadn't. Giving himself a shake, only proceeding to make himself look even more unkempt and scruffy, he slowly began to walk her way, purposely sucking in his breath to try and make himself appear as thin as possible.
Oh he was going the whole ten yards this time. Entertain himself AND perhaps get a meal out of it. So as he made his way he made sure to drag his front right paw, attempting to look as pathetic as possible.- "Miss? Hello miss?" -He called out as soon as he could destinguish her sex from her scent.-

Oh gods, the thing was coming closer to her! She eyed him with obvious distaste, and though he had not seen her looking at him, his actions did not go unnoticed by her. Baala could see that he was taking certain preparations for their meeting, as if he had something planned up his paw. If that was the case... she really wasn't all that impresed, especially since he had let her seen that he was up to something. Danganyo needed a whole lot more practice and skill to fool this lioness. He had been walking perfectly fine before, in fact, he had looked fatter before then he did now.
Stupid, stupid cheetah.
"Hello," she responded, seeming pleasant enough, though her mind was working to find a way to turn the tables on him. Maybe she'd play along for a little bit until she figured out what she wanted. It would be a little piece of pleasantness to see all of his plans unravel at her paws. So Baala would play along for her own amusement, and when she became tired of this, she would let the cheetah know, either through words or through her actions.

-Ah ha! Oblivious to the female's perception the cheetah cheered himself on silently, proud of his little show. He was SUCH the drama queen when he needed to be, well practiced to the point of being nearly flawless most the time. But then.. most the time he had a far more trusting audience.
Limping forward, he paused a few lengths from her, offering a half smile to her 'pleasant' greeting.- "Sorry to bother you Miss... I was just wondering.."
-He paused, as if to seem ashamed in what he was about to ask, certainly his features mocked the expression well.- "Have you seen any scraps nearby? Left over kill that hasn't been too picked at by the vultures?"
-His eyes watched her with soft fasination, waiting for that feminine 'awwww, poor thing' reflex to kick in. Certainly she wouldn't tell another cat to go eat the rancid remains of a carcass.-

He was such a bad actor, she found herself thinking. His little show wasn't entirely convincing, and he may've been better off just looking skinny and weak and leaving the injury out of the picture all together. Most other Pridelanders would happily give him a free meal, probably even if he wasn't in some fake weak condition. What a bunch of saps, Pridelanders were, but then this was Kiuma's home, and weak may most of the members of the large pride be... it could probably become Baala's home too. With her strength of mind she was sure she could make it in this pride with ease.
She waited for the moment in which he explained what he wanted, and then she gave him the sweetest smile she could conjure. "I'm sorry," she let youth fill her voice, innocence that was truly not there making it ring sweetly, "I have not seen any scraps for a while. But if you must eat..." Slowly she extended her front leg in front of her, letting tears over-dramatically fill her eyes. "You may have a leg of mine. I am sure I can make do without it." In a way, she looked to be in absolute earnest. It was only the ridiculousness of the offering that gave her away.
And now that the jig was up, she stared at him flatly. "Now bug off."

-Too egotistically drawn into his game, he didn't quite realize that she had caught him. And the look of repulsion on his face was allowed to play wide, his ears dropping low as he uttered for once a truth.- "I could be on my last breath and I wouldn't dare eat something like that."
"You should be more careful in offering however, I'm sure others are more savage..."
His ears lifted once more at the sudden change, finally realizing what exactly had happened. But unfortunately for her, this cheetah was not one to give up so easily, and he seemed completely unphased by the notion. Drawing back mildly, wincing gently as his 'hurt' leg touched the earth, he looked on at her with confusion, playing stupid.- "Huh?"
"A trick? That's not very kind." -Narrowing his gaze he added softly.- "One shouldn't play tricks when they aren't sure how the other will react. What if I'd been a cheetah at full strength? Even size can't play down aggression when push comes to shove."

Oh dear, she was in a conversation with a complete and total idiot of a feline. Was he so caught up in his little act to not realize that it had no effect on her? If he was seriously hurt she might've done something for him, because Baala was not entirely cruel at heart. But he was just faking it, so she had no inclination to be nice to him or show him any decency. "I would only offer such a valued posession to those I trust won't actually eat it. Think of it as a test, if your simple mind can cope with such an idea."
Even when the stupid creature realized that she had caught on to his game he continued on with it. Baala saw no point in doing this, because she was strong willed enough not to change her mind and her opinion of him. He was only making himself look worse in her mind's eye, and if she got really upset she wouldn't mind hurting him a little to get him away from her. This cheetah obviously had not learned that some creatures don't have a high tolerance level, and can be quite dangerous when messed around with. "I'm in all actuality not a very kind lioness." It was a warning of sorts, but she doubted he would understand the threat that hid in the undertones of her sweet voice.
"You are a cheetah at full strength, excluding the fact that you're hungry. But, I have to assure you that I've got both size and agression on my side. I really don't like you, and if your leg isn't hurt now, it soon will be if you do not leave me alone." In that instant, she stood up, readying herself for a fight, or to look intimidating enough to chase him away. Either way, she really wasn't a force to be messed with when you were just a cheetah.

-A soft nod met her first statement, before the hypocritical ends came after it. She called his bluff outloud, far more ballsy then many he'd dealt with before. And unlike others who might have simply given him what he wanted she seemed well ready to fight for the principle of things. Certainly she wasn't lying when she mentioned her lack of 'kindness'.
He debated quickly in a second's time whether he just wanted to high tail it or hang around. And whether it be stupidity or ego, he went with the later, cowering back as she rose in agression.- "I assure you you're mistaken. And you can't just go around calling people liars."
-He held his ground in that defensive pose, of course certain to make sure his 'hurt' paw dangled above the ground. Maybe he could convince her if he was persistant enough.- "I'll leave if you want."

"Are you going to try and stop me from calling liars what they are... liars? You really would try to anger me further?" She turned a critical eye on him, her voice leaking with disgust. The situation could easily escalate with a lioness like Baala. If Danganyo was looking for a more serious confrontation, he was going to get it. He either needed to confess that he was trying to play her for a fool, or high-tail it out of there before Baala decided to use her bigger size and anger against him. Baala had fought before, even found it necessary in some cases. If it was the quickest and easiest way to get what she wanted, she'd use it.
"I think it would be most wise to leave. It is what I want." Maybe he was not stupid after all, if he was considering leaving and saving his hide. Baala wouldn't have to use her claws on him, then, and she could probably take one long nap and chase the next creature that decided to intrude on her personal space away. It was good to know that the cheetah had some intelligence... it just wouldn't have been quite that fair if she had fought with an idiot who was smaller then her too.
Idly she raised a paw, unsheathing her claws and examining them. Casually she began to lick it clean, but the action was obvious. All she was doing was showing off her claws, showing him how big and sharp they were. It gave him fair warning about what he was up against if he so chose to.

-He snorted mildly at her comment, the first sign of something other then demure. She was starting to get on his nerves in fact, and truthfully, meal or not he didn't know if he could stomach the company of such a violent imputent wench any longer.
Didn't mean he'd let her win though. Turning tail he slowly began to make his way back the way he'd come, limping on that unhurt foot.
He'd have to find another way to get some food today it seemed. Whether he scavange it out or find another person to ask he didn't know, but for now his mood as sore, and he continued on in the oppisite direction until he could no longer see that black stain on the earth.-

She watched him walk away, idly thinking that he was lucky to be alive, lucky to be smart enough to turn away from her now and get away before she got angry at him. Baala felt superior to him, way superior, and if he had forced her to put him in her place, she would've done it with some small, sick joy. Once she was sure he was far, far away, she turned back towards her tree, curling up underneath it with a satisified smile. It didn't take her long to drift off into a light sleep. Forever she was aware of her surroundings, though, and when she woke up next time she hoped it would be to some more pleasant company.
Stupid cheetahs.
