Staring idley at her reflection, a growing lion cub lay limp on a flat stone. This was her favorite perch in all the area she knew of, that was for sure. It's smooth surface served as a cool place to relax in the shade. It jutted out over the watering hole near the den, as well, which was an added bonus. As she groomed or lolled about on the rock, she could look at her reflection! It was becoming increasingly enjoyable to do so since the growth of her small hair flip. Though nothing could replace her paw markings in her heart, the pink flip was enough to excite her. She could easily spend hours 'brushing' it with her claws, grooming out all of the bugs and dust.

A sigh escaped the juvenile. With her growing body had come a distinct lack of cub-like playfulness. She still enjoyed a good romp, oh yes, but the company to do that with was becoming quite scarce. Company in general, for that matter, was becoming quite scarce. She hardley saw her mother anymore, and her brother was always off muttering to himself about something. She was thinking more and more about joining the fabled 'Pridelands' these days. Noyana had made them sound so appealing, she could hardley come up with a reason to stay where she was. Her eyes looked out over the calm water, and then... Oh, look at that reflection! What gorgeous hair.

-The yellow lioness padded softly along her steps a slow and meandering path, much like that of lazy butterflies, as she made her way through the grasses. She had no place to be, no place to go, and in fact was feeling a tad lonely it would seem. So she'd set out thusly to waste her day.

The scent of water filled her nose, and softly blue eyes scoured the land for the cause spotting the watering hole first. And the brillant flash of color secondly. Pausing in her step, she gaze on for a moment, before finally deciding to take a drink. Surely company wouldn't be very bad either.-

Intombi was so absorbed in staring at her tuft of pink hair, she didn't even notice the scent on the wind. Instead, she stared dreamily at her reflection, picturing herself as a fully grown lioness, with several good looking males fawning about her. It was a silly dream, of course, as it was hardly likely such a thing would happen. A girl can dream, though, right? She smiled much liked a stoned hippie, her eyes becomming slits as she thought of the future. Then it hit her like a ton of rocks. There was a scent on the wind.

Whipping around her head excitedly, she scanned the savannah for any sign of life. What the perfect time to show off her hair flip! Her eyes brightened at the prospect of company. "Hello out there?"

-While the drier of the savannah grasses guarded Isabis like their own child, the wetter, greener of grasses as she moved nearer to the watering hole gave up her apperance. But at the moment she did not mind. The only pressence she saw was one smaller then her, and even a delicate butterfly was not afraid of one that was smaller then them.

Slipping from the grasses, she slide to the edge of the water before she paused, tail swaying as she offered greeting.- "Hello little one."

-Surely the little lioness would be thrilled to be in the pressence of a goddess. Gently she lowered her head to lap at the water a few times, baby blue eyes kept curiously on the chocolate and pink form.-

As the other lioness made her way out of the dry savannah grass tufts, she grew far more easily visible. At first, Intombi just stared. The butterfly markings on her fur were to die for! What she wouldn't do for something like that on her own pelt. Well... she wouldn't give up her hair flip or her paw markings. Other than that, though, she'd do an awful lot. The odd female's voice broke the younger from her trance. There was something peculiar about this one, Intombi mused silently. She couldn't quite put her claw on it, but there was deffinately something a bit off. She was so involved in trying to figure what it was, she nearly forgot to answer in greeting. "Oh," she jumped a little with the realization, "hi." She shimmied a little closer to the other, trying to get a good look at her furs. "I like the butterflies."

"I think it is hard NOT to like butterflies." -She mused softly, grinning as if she thought her statement was quite funny or clever. Despite the fact that it wasn't particularly. But closer she crept anyway, nodding her head in soft greeting.- "Thank you though, I take great pride in my markings. Yours are quite beautiful as well though."

-The hot pink flashed in your eyes, a bright and bold statement that probably helped the young one stick in the mind of others. And while Isabis was one of subtle and soft beauty, she would not deny that the bold coloring was quite striking.

But compliments aside, she settled herself gently at the water's bank, taking one short drink before she asked curiously.- "What is it you're doing? Simply resting?"

The juve nodded her head in agreement. Butterflies were quite likable. The compliment thrown in was taken well. A smile glowed on her features, and for a moment she almost seemed conceited... but then it faded. She looked back at the water a bit bashfully. "Thank you." She could compliment herself quite easily, but hearing it from others was always a bit awkward. A change in subject was welcome. "Oh, I was... fixing my hair flip. I can't seem to get it to sit just right." She rolled her eyes a bit, running her claws through the mess of pink. A sudden realization dawned in her eyes; this lioness had her very own hair flip; and it seemed to be perfectly in place. "How did you get yours like that?"

-In truth it was probably simple weight that kept the tuft of hair pulled properly in place, as Isabis did very little other than simple grooming. But her delusions of grandour let forth an answer that seemed entirely logical as well, had it been true.-

"A goddess is naturally well-kept, she doesn't have to work to make it that way."

-Giving a glance of genuine apology at not being able to help, she glanced to the hair flip once more, pondering softly.- "How do you want it to hang?"

Intombi was honestly a little disappointed at the yellow lioness's response. "Well, I wanted it to sort of... go off to the side of my eye like this." She took a paw and pushed the tuft over some, so it was out of her vision. As soon as she let go, the pink furs moved stubbornly back into her eyes. "So that I can see without the hair in the way, y'know?" It was a classic female's plight - a bad hair day. With an overly dramatic sigh, she threw a glance towards her reflection. Suddenly, what Isabis had just said hit her like a ton of rocks.

"You're a goddess?" She was a very niave lioness, and couldn't exactly pick up on the lack of fact in the other's statement. Her eyes widened some. She'd never dealt with the immortal before, and wasn't exactly certain how she should handle the situation. "What are you a goddess of?"

"Ahh..." -She inspected the problem softly, musing lightly.- "That seems sort of an unnatural position until it grows a bit longer. But you could put something sticky in it.. like honey.. But then that would would mar the coloring a bit, and that would be a shame."

-Eyes lifting upwards as her attention was drawn back away from her thoughts, she puffed egotistically as the younger lioness' words rang out.- "Goddess of Butterflies" -She purred pleasantly, twitching her tail to and fro.-

"Perhaps not anything as exciting as rivers or war, but then beauty and grace have a place in this world."

-Ahhhh, how nice it was to talk about things as trivial as hair and beauty. How amazingly relaxing it was to be in the presence of a believer! The hours whittled away, sun flowing across the sky as the 'goddess' and the lioness chatted and mused.

When finally she turned to leave with a cheerful farewell Isabis silently hoped she'd meet this one again. Such a delightful and beautiful creature. Perhaps she herself.. would have to instigate conversations with mortals more often.-
