History:
Lyle has lived in Zatao all his life. He was born and raised in Katarina, and the Pilkiras Plains were his back yard. Quite literally his back yard; his family was very poor, and he lived in a housing project at the outskirts of the city, with nothing but wilderness beyond his back door. He lived in a rather small apartment with his mother and four siblings: his older brother (16 years old at the time Lyle got his first pokemon), older sister (14) and twin little sisters (7). His mom worked two jobs to try and make ends meet. His older brother had a part-time job at a fast-food place and older sister babysat to make extra money for the family. Lyle waned to help his mom too but was too young to get any job. So instead he wanted to be a pokemon master to earn money by battling! And because it looked really cool and a lot of fun.
When Lyle was 11 he found a Sableye that followed him home and became his first pokemon. Soon after there was a tournament to chose the Gym Leader of the Motterossa Gym. Lyle entered and lost, but ended up becoming a gym trainer under the new Leader, Shina. That not only provided him with food, lodging, clothing, and pokemon care supplies, but he was able to earn some money to send back home. He caught a full team of pokemon while he was there and gained a lot of battle experience.
In time there was another tournament to choose a Gym Leader, this time for the Katarina Gym. Lyle entered, mainly for the experience and not expecting to get very far. But to his surprise, he made it to the final round. After actually living in a Gym for a while he'd realized how much work it took to run one, and didn't think he was up to the task, so he kind of regretted entering. But regardless, he started the final battle, determined to do his best. And somehow, he actually won. Despite his worry about how well he'd manage, he accepted the position of Gym Leader and is trying to figure out how exactly he's supposed to run the thing.

History: Lyle doesn’t know too much about Tetania’s history, since he got her in a trade and the original owner hadn’t told him much.
He’d been out training one day and came across a rather fancy-looking Shuppet, one that was black with white lightning-looking markings. He thought it looked cool, decided he wanted it, and after a tough battle he managed to catch it. But on his way back to the Motterossa Gym he realized that he didn’t really need it. He already hadtwo Ghost pokemon, and he’d rather have more variety on his team than specialize in any particular type. Still, the pokemon was cool, and it would be a waste to just let it go, especially after the trouble he had catching it.
He was still debating what to do with it the next day at school, when a friend mentioned that his brother had a Quilava he didn’t want. The brother had been training it for a while but didn't really want a fire pokemon and would rather have something cooler. Well, the Shuppet looked cool, and was a rare color, too. So Lyle offered the Shuppet in trade for the Quilava.
Lyle and his friend’s brother met at the Pokemon Center that weekend to look over each other’s pokemon. Lyle was surprised to see that the Quilava, who was named Tetania, was unusually colored too; bright red and yellow with wing-looking markings. She seemed happy, healthy and curious, and Spinel struck up a conversation with her, presumably telling her about Lyle. It seemed like she’d be able to get along with his pokemon, then. The brother was also satisfied with the Shuppet, and agreed to a trade. They were about to complete the trade in that Pokemon Center, so both trainers went home with their new pokemon. Lyle was happy to have Tetania, and once she got to the gym she set about meeting Lyle’s other pokemon and exploring her new home.

Personality: fond of shiny things. Fascinated with Spinel's gem eyes
History: After Lyle won the tournament to become Gym leader of Katarina, he decided to get a taste of what a pokemon journey was like and travel on foot while he headed back to Motterossa to gather his things. Sine he had the time, he took the long way around, heading down through the Pikiras Plains, across the Saxukai Desert, around the unnamed lake, through the Seatence valley, and on to Motterossa. A traveling Watcher named Shaun offered to go with him, since Lyle had no travel experience.
While they were in the desert, a sandstorm started to kick up. Before they travelers could seek shelter, a Flygon appeared out of the whirling sands. She seemed fascinated with Spinel, and Lyle took the chance to try and catch her. Unfortunately he didn't succeed right away and the attempt seemed to annoy the Flygon, so it Lyle battled her. After weakening her, Lyle was able to catch her, and they had no further trouble with sandstorms as they got through the desert.

Personality: Doesn't seem to like staying still for long and loves to run. Rather free-spirited; will gladly help if called upon, but if left to his own devices, he tends to do his own thing. Lyle usually lets him run around in the empty field behind the Gym whenever he's not needed.
History: While Lyle was traveling from Motterossa to Katarina to open the gym, he came across a pokemon he'd never seen before in the Seitance Valley. He thought it was a Rapidash at first, since it was the right size and color, but it wasn't on fire and lacked a horn. He has also never seen a horse pokemon with a mane or tail like that. He decided to catch the strange pokemon, and during the battle it used electric attacks. Lyle ended up calling Shaun to try and identify his new pokemon. After examining the horse's physical structure carefully and asking about the kind of attacks it used, Shaun was able to correctly identify it as a highly unusual Zebstrika, with a completely different coloration, mane, tail, and added fetlocks.
