Virgilia vs Spinel! Can't a Lady get some rest? [FIN]

Virgilia, Lady of the Two-Hundred-and-Eighty-Third bloodline rested quietly in her subterranean chambers. Or at least, she was trying to. There was an awful racket coming from above her, and while her first assumption was that it was a battle, it was lasting far too long.

The nerve of those responsible! Have they no manners? What's more, have they no knowledge of whose castle they trounced on? Climbing out of the hole, she looked for the source of her current misfortunes.

"Nice shot, Spinel! Now try out Shadow Ball, see if you can hit this rock in the air."

Lyle had decided Spinel needed more battle practice, so they were out in the plains having a little target practice. Mostly that involved Lyle tossing rocks in the air and asking Spinel to hit them with various attacks, but sometimes he attacked stationary targets. Lyle threw the rock and Spinel started to gather energy to fire at it, but he was distracted by a movement off to one side. He looked over and perked his head fins when he noticed a Buneary come out of a hole. "Sableye!" he told his trainer, pointing to the bunny.

"Huh," Lyle said, spotting the pokemon as well. "Guess we can get some real practice in. Go get 'em!" he said, pointing at the wild pokemon. Spinel bounded over, ready to attack.

"Start with Confuse Ray," Lyle told his pokemon. It was very useful when it worked, though it seemed to miss far too much.

Spinel skidded to a halt in front of the Buneary and grinned impishly as his eyes began to flash a disorienting mix of colors.

No sooner had Virgilia exited her castle than was she under attack. She felt dizzy, like she had shot up after having been seated for too long. She reached for her heirloom bell, but lost her balance, collapsing on the ground.

"Nice one!" Lyle cheered as the Buneary became visibly disoriented. "Now, Rock Smash!"

They'd been practicing this move today, as evidenced by the small piles of gravel scattered about. Spinel leaped forward and swung his claws at the Buneary in a swift overhead chop.

Virgilia was slammed into the ground even as she tried to get up, pain radiating through her body. She crawled to her feet, and began to fluff herself up.

Spinel paused as the Buneary began to get rather fluffy. It was rather cute, and kind of made him not want to hurt it so much.

Though Lyle noticed the bunny get soft and fluffy looking, he was a bit more focused. "Rock Smash again, try and weaken it."

Spinel shook his head as if to clear it. Then he scrutinized the Buneary carefully before swinging at it again.

Virgilia was knocked off balance by the attack, stumbling a bit. She regained her composure quickly however, and continued to beautify herself.

The Buneary continued to grow more fluffy and adorable, and Spinel had to pause and just stare at the cuteness for a moment.

Lyle noticed how this was affecting his pokemon. "We can't let it do that, can we? Spinel, Psych Up!"

Instantly The Sableye snapped out of the slight daze it had fallen into. He loved this attack! So clever! So sneaky! His boy was smart and they would win! He bounced up and down eagerly as he pumped himself up for the fight.

Virgilia glared at the sableye. Such unrefined dancing, if one could even CALL it that.

"Servant boy, stand still, please." An orb of ice appeared in her paw, and she swung forward to unleash it upon the gem-eater, but she lost her balance and fell over.

Lyle grinned as the Buneary fell over again. "Another Rock Smash, Spinel!"

Spinel cackled in glee as he rushed forward to swing his claw at the bunny.

Virgilia saw the sableye rushing her, and quickly created another orb of ice. But before she could throw it, she was hit by the attack and knocked back into her castle, the ice hitting the roof, and freezing the doorway solid.

Virgilia felt dizzy in a different way from before, and muttered to herself before fainting. "Now, perhaps, I can get some rest...."

Lyle watched as the Buneary was knocked back into its hole and a wall of ice abruptly covered the door. "Huh, that was unexpected. I guess the bunny wants to be left alone?" He considered having Spinel smash or burn away the ice, but decided against it. He didn't have a pokeball, so he couldn't catch the Buneary even if he did get to it. So he dismissed the wild pokemon and turned to Spinel with a grin. "Way to go! Our second win, and you didn't get even a scratch!" He scooped his pokemon up and spun him around, both of them cheering their success. "Come on, let's go home and I'll get you a treat." With that, the Sableye perched on his trainer's hat and the pair made their way back home to leave the Buneary in peace.
