Spinel vs. Raven [FIN]

Rolled a two: Rock field:Tremors ripple forth from center-field as the basic floor shifts to a rock and dirt field. Rock towers emerge forth from the ground to offer a place of escape or an advantageous attack position. The breeze from the stadium air conditioners stirs the loose sand on the field, creating a mini sandstorm that reduces visibility. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ROCK type attacks This field reduces FIRE type attacks by 25 HP

Lyle stepped onto the field, stumbling slightly as the last tremors faded away. He looked around the field and tried to figure out how Spinel could use it as he stepped up to the trainer box. Then he pointed out onto the field. "You;re up, Spinel!"

His Sableye had been clinging onto his hat. Now the pokemon leaped off his trainer's head, did a flip in midair, and landed on the field, grinning. Who would he be fighting today?

Becka had given in to Raven's tugging and urgings, apparently he felt too weak to protect her and wanted to get stronger.

She held back a squeak of fear as the ground shifted to accomodate the new field type. This was just one of the reasons she disliked this, all that shifting of the ground, wasn't natural.

When the last of the tremors died away she looked down at Raven, the Luxio looking back up at her, for a moment her memory of him as a shinx just a short while ago, flickered in place and he seemed to switch between the two, but it was just memory. "Alright Raven, off you go i guess" She wasn't sure about the fact it would be difficult to see her pokemon, but she figured he knew what he was doing, he must do as he didn't seem the least bit worried, he must have been used to fight before she found him.

Raven didn't do any fancy moves like the Sableye's flip, he strode out, determined to get stronger for his trainer.

Sableye danced from foot to foot as Lyle watched his opponent approach. He decided not to try anything fancy for now and stick with the most basic strategy: use a move it was weak against. "Spinel, start us off with Dig," he instructed.

"Eye-eye!" his pokemon chirped, before tearing at the rocky ground with his claws. In moments he was burrowing beneath the surface, heading for his opponent.

Raven growled when the Sableye used Dig, he knew it wasn't going to be pleasant, he had no idea where the other pokemon was going to emerge from and with the sandstorm too, limiting his vision. He yelped as the move hit him, but he turned with a snarl.

Becka held back a cry, she hated seeing her pokemon hurt. "Raven, uhm... use Discharge" she thought he knew that move, she HOPED he knew that move.

(Yup, Dig is a 1-turn move, the Attackdex says simply to roll for damage.

When Spinel popped up, he was rewarded with a face full of lightning. He yelped and skittered backwards, shaking his head as the last few sparks danced over his skin.

Lyle winced, but Spinel still seemed to be OK. "Go for another one," he instructed.

Spinel started burrowing again, heading right for Raven.

So the other trainer was using the same move again, well two could play at that game. Becka yelled hurriedly "Raven, Discharge again!"

Raven growled again as the Sableye's move hit him but he spun, jumping up a little and letting the move loose as he landed.

Spinel got hit again, but this time it didn't seem so bad. he danced back a couple steps, then dove back into the ground. It worked, and Lyle didn't say to do otherwise, so Spinel went back to burrowing towards his opponent.

This time the Sableye's move hit him hard and Raven yelped then hit the deck, it took him a few moments to get up again, "Raven?!" Becka yelled, distressed "Lux...Luuux, LUXIO!" Raven replied, getting to his feet and baring his teeth "o...okay Raven if you're sure... use Crunch!" Again, she prayed he knew the move, she'd picked up some knowledge on what moves her pokemon could use the last time she was at a pokemon center.

Spinel managed to dive back underground again just before Raven reached him, narrowly dodging the attack. He turned straight back up, hoping to pop up under the Luxio's belly.

Raven was starting to tire, it was getting obvious, the constant use of the ground type moves against his electric type was showing. "Raven, try crunch again!" Becka called, she must believe in her Luxio, he could do it.

Raven's teeth sank into Spinel, but with some effort he squirmed out of the Luxio's grip. Then he dug back underground again. His opponent was looking very tired now!

Raven grunted as the Sableye hit him again with dig, he again fell but this time he didn't get up.

Becka cried out and ran to her Luxio"Raven? Raven?! are you ok?" The Luxio gave out an exhausted sqrak before flopping his head into Becka's lap.

Becka looked over at the other trainer "you win" she said, before hefting her pokemon up into her arms, to take him to the nearest pokemon center.
