Spinel had been watching for the attack, so it was easy to get out of the way in time. Without needing another word from Lyle, he lunged forward was another shadowy paw outstretched.

Spectral claws tore through Mephistopheles and he bowed. With a curt "Thank you for the battle.", total darkness descended upon the field, lifting to reveal Mephistopheles and Lenore leaving.

Spinel felt weak for a moment, but he shook his head and ignored it. He bounded back to Lyle, who cheered, "You did great!" and scooped up his pokemon to give the victor a big hug. Then they left as well, both grinning from ear to ear.
