[Final Round] Lyle Cricket vs Zakiax Firebane

First of all, congratulations on making it to the finals. :3

Each of you are to make a post rolling a 100 sided die. The highest roller will get to attack first, but also have to choose their two pokemon for the match first. Wait until both trainers have chosen their pokemon before attacking. As in previous rounds, the stadium is a plain concrete field with no elemental advantages or disadvantages.

For example:

P1 rolls, gets 100
P2 rolls, gets 1
P1 sends out Zubat, with Eevee in reserve
P2 sends out Rattata, with Joltik in reserve
P1 has Zubat use Confuse Ray
And so on like a normal multipokemon battle. If you need a refresher, most if not all of the information will be in the Battle Format thread.

Zak entered the stadium quite lost in thought, he really had no idea who he would use for this battle. Possibly Flora, the kingdra had been quite reliable in his last battles with her, however he did want to give her a rest since it was so soon after their last battle. Possibly Zue as well, or Sakki. He had quite the options to chose from. Even Zeke, or any of his other pokemon he registered for this battle would be a good choice.

Lyle trotted into the stadium, more nervous then he'd ever been for a battle. This was big. Whether he won or lost could make a very big difference in his life, and he still wasn't sure which outcome to hope for. But feeling Spinel clinging to his hat gave him the confidence to at least try. He looked across the field at his opponent and found it was the person he'd fought last round. He smiled and waved, wondering which of his pokemon he should use first.

Zak was quite lost in thought still deciding on which of his pokemon he wanted to use for this one. Because he was lost in thought he had not seen Lyle walk in, nor his wave towards him. Finally looking up his puzzled expression gone he threw a pokeball out into the stage "Alright Zue your up!" he called out. He'd start out with Zue and use Flora as his second pokemon.

Zue emerged from his pokeball, quite energetically. He was ready for battle. Not being used in his trainers last few battles one could say that the crobat was battle ready. He was also one of Zak's more seasoned pokemon that he had in his arsenal.

Lyle saw his opponent send out a Crobat first, and considered his options. He decided to go with his two most experienced pokemon, and started off by tossing out a pokeball to release Comet once more.


Comet: 1100 HP

He felt Spinel droop on his hat, and reached up to pat the Sableye. "Don't worry Spinel, this is a two-pokemon battle. You'll fight later on." His pokemon perked up at that, and leaned forward to watch.

"Alright Zue lets start out with a Giga Drain!" he called out going on the offensive right off the bat. Now it was time to get serious.

Zue swooped down towards the water pokemon and began to try to drain its energy.

Lyle grimaced as his opponent tried to suck energy out of Comet. That attack could be very bad for them. He didn't have a way to stop it completely, but maybe..."Comet, Torment!"

Comet glared at Zue and started chattering accusingly at the other pokemon, reprimanding him for using such a cheap trick.

Well that just happened. So he couldn't use Gigia Drain twice in a row with Zue, but he did have other moves up his sleeve. "Zue let poison it with Poison Fang!" he called out.

Zue was subjected to the Torment, however listening to his trainer he swooped down fangs dripping with poison and tried to bite down on the water pokemon.

Comet tried to dodge out of the way, but Zue managed to sink his teeth in. Comet immediately began to feel ill.

Lyle saw the expression on his pokemon's face and knew he'd been poisoned. Well, they could try status effects, too. "Comet, try and freeze it with Ice Beam!"

The Floatzel took aim at his opponent, opened his mouth and fired of a blast of chill energy.

"Great Job Zue!" he called out, as his attack hit as well as being able to dodge the ice beam. "Now Try Giga Drain again!"

The bat was quite agile in the air. After dodging he swooped down once more trying to drain the water pokemon's energy.

Despite wincing from the pain of the poison, Comet was able to dodge out of the way of the next attack. He tried again to fire a beam at Zue to immobilize him.

Comet was pleased that he'd downed his opponent, but saw that the ice wasn't very thick. Hoping to reinforce it, he fired another beam at Zue.

Breaking free Zue was able to dodge the ice attack. Then with out his trainers consent he used torment, blocking the other from using the same move twice just like it was used on him.

Comet was about to fire off another beam, but the provocation from Zue stopped him. He suddenly felt like a hypocrite.

Lyle actually found it kind of funny that his opponent used the same strategy as he did. But there was more than one way to freeze a pokemon. "Comet, go with Blizzard!"

His pokemon eagerly complied, shooting off a blast of icy wind and snow.
