Roll a Twelve: Graveyard Field:In this particular field selection, the stadium ceiling is shut tight, covering the entire inner area of the stadium in a veil of pure darkness. The ordinary dirt field is swapped out for a field full of grave stones scattered across the lifeless soil. Near the northern end of the battle field, a single withered tree stands hunched over as though in constant mourning of those who rest for eternity here. A dense fog weaves in and out of the headstones and hinders vision. The fog itself seems damp and heavy, like the tears of the living mourning for the lost.This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to GHOST and DARK type attacks.

Lyle shivered as he entered the field. This battlefield was dark and gloomy. And damp. Not his favorite, though Spinel and Hematite seemed to enjoy it. He released his Haunter, who grinned widely at the sight of the field.

Urthemiel walked into the stadium slightly less excited than last time. Their first battle was a disaster. Did she just have no talent? As she sighed to herself, Elaine gave her a concerned look from atop the girl's shoulder. Catching the Cleffa's eyes, Urthemiel forced a smile. "It's not your fault, Elaine. You did your best." The cleffa looked down.
The field this time was a graveyard? So they weren't all just beaches. Elaine scampered down from the girl's shoulder to see the haunter from earlier already waiting for them.

Elaine looked determinedly at the haunter before turning back to face her trainer, awaiting a command to attack. She could do this. From her stand, Urthemiel caught the cleffa's glance and swallowed. Elaine hasn't given up on me. I shouldn't give up, either.
"Use Shadow Ball, Elaine!" The cleffa nodded and placed her hands in front of her. The fog swirled together, condensing before firing at the haunter.

Hematite flinched as the ball of mist slammed into her. Her grin disappeared as she turned to look at the little pink pokemon.
Lyle figured if the strategy from before worked, it could work again. "Sludge Bomb!" he called
Hematite brought her hands together and let a glob of sludge bubble up between them. Once there was enough, she tossed the glob at Elaine.

Obstructed by the terrain, Elaine was unable to dodge the sludge. Coated from head to toe, she even got some in her mouth. Choking, the cleffa nevertheless continued to stare ahead with determination. Urthemiel looked on, helpless, but called out another attack. "Use Shadow Ball, again!"
The fairy-type glared at the haunter through the pain and discomfort, swirling the fog around her into a sphere she fired at the ghost-type.

Hematite cackled when her opponent was coasted in sludge, even though she was soon blasted again.
"Great! Now give them a Venoshock!" Lyle instructed.
So Hematite pointed her hands palm-first at Elaine and shot a stream of green liquid.

The sludge seemed to boil from the contact with the green liquid, but Elaine gritted her teeth against the pain. She fired off another ball of fog before ducking behind a tombstone.

The ball of mist blasted Hematite head on, causing her to start to shred into mist herself. She quickly pulled herself together though, and frowned at Elaine before shooting off another stream of green liquid.

Another blast of the liquid caused Elaine to cry out in pain despite her insistence not to. It was as if her entire body was on fire. Trying to focus, she sent another ball of fog at the haunter before running around the tree.

The ball shredded through Hematite, and this time she was slower to reform. Se was still misty around the edges when she flew off, circling around the tree to get a better shot at Elaine. Once she was in sight, Hematite threw mroe liquid at her.

Elaine fell from exhaustion even before the green liquid hit her. Crestfallen, Urthemiel returned the cleffa to her pokeball, gave a hurried bow to Lyle, and left for the pokemon center.

As soon as Elaine was returned, Lyle recalled Hematite too. She was in a bad shape, so he hurried off to get her to the Pokemon Center.
