City Streets Field: Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road are sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there. Fake building walls, complete with broken glass windows and grime lining the surface, limit the amount of maneuverable space on land. Trash cans and trash bags decorate the street. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air which, unfortunately, helps spread the horrible stench of the trash. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to POISON type attacks.

Lyle could smell the field before he entered the stadium, and wrinkled his nose unhappily as he made his way to the trainer's box. This was not his favorite field. Hematite, who was floating along beside him, didn't seem to mind, but then again she didn't even have a nose as far as he could tell. She floated out onto the field as they waited for their opponent to enter.

Walking slowly towards the stadium enterance, April was astonished at how big and fancy the stadium was compared to the ones back home. No matter how many times she's seen fields with any sort of mechanic it never ceases to amaze her. It wasn't until she smelled the strong stench of the city field did she snap out of it. Oh gross! April covered her nose with her arm as she tried to stop the stench from entering her nose. Stepping out onto her trainer's box she quickly threw out Azzu, hoping the battle will end quickly and then she can get away from the stench.

When Lyle saw he was up against a Zangoose,he started planning his strategy. Hematite didn't have any super effective moves again it, so maybe he could use the field to his advantage. "Hematite, Poison Jab!" he called to start off.
His pokemon floated towards her opponent, her hands glowing purple. Then one of them shot towards Azzu, trying to land a quick punch

Azzu gave an annoyed glare at the Haunter as he narrowly missed the poison jab. He snarled in response as he took a closer look at his opponent. April looked at the battlefield with confidence. 'A ghost type... just like the Sableyes back home!' she thought, gaining a little bit of confidence. Azzu might have a limited move set to use but at least April knows which moves will be effective this time...
"Azzu! Use Payback!" April yelled to her Zangoose.

Well that wasn't good. Lyle spent a while considering options before he finally instructed, "Ward yourself with Ominous Wind."
Hematite gestured with her hands, causing a strange wind began swirling around herself.

'Huh? What's that?' April thought as she looked towards the Haunter. The young aqua grunt bit her lip as she saw the strange wind. She had no clue what to do-but she couldn't exactly do nothing. "Azzu, use Swords Dance!"
The blue Zangoose let out a short roar of confirmation as he began to move to increase the power of his next attack.

Drat, no good. Lyle decided to try his original strategy again. "Try another Poison Jab!"
Hematite darted forward and tried to shoot another punch at Azzu.

"Dodge Azzu!" April yelled as she saw the Haunter strike. But it was too late and Azzu was struck by the jab as he was backing off. There was little damage but the Zangoose could feel it- he was poisoned by the attack. April once again bit her lip, not knowing what to do. She didn't have an antidote and it looks like Azzu was poisoned. "We're not going to let you get away with that!" the Aqua grunt yelled, "Azzu, use Payback one more time!"

Lyle grinned when he saw the attack hit. Now he could finally try part 2 of his strategy! "Hematite, Venoshock!"
Hematite heard Lyle's excitement and cackled, then sent out a wave of poisonous mist.

Azzu was careful not to aggravate his would as he stepped back after his attack. 'Nononononono' April thought as she saw Azzu take damage from the poison. "Azzu get away! Use dig!" April yelled, just as Hematite began to attack. Azzu safely avoided the attack and was relieved as the pain from the poison started to fade. Now, for a counter attack.

When Azzu dug underground, Hematite was momentarily puzzled about what the other pokemon was doing, and floated closer to the ground to see. Then the Zangoose burst up from the ground in a cloud of dirt and smacked into her.
Lyle made a face when Azzu dodged Hematite's attack. All his clever planning went to waste! Time to get a little desperate. "Hematite, Confuse Ray!" he ordered.
Still smarting from the last attack, Hematite concentrated and sent a burst of disorienting energy towards her opponent.

"Yes!" April shouted as Azzu attacked the Haunter. "Almost there Azzu!" However her celebration was cut short. While she was distracted, April didn't see the next coming attack. Within seconds Hematite unleashed a burst of energy towards Azzu who was still recovering from his last attack. The energy hit Azzu who stumbled. "Azzu, try to shake it off- use dig one more time!"
