Alexa Holtzer (Bluedemonwolf) vs. Lyle Cricket (mewrose) (SIBLING FIGHT GO)
Here's how it'll go down. This will be a single one vs one pokemon battle.
FIRST POSTS (for both of you): An introduction post of you walking into the stadium, DO NOT LET OUT YOUR POKEMON YET, and rolling a 100-sided dice.
SECOND POSTS: The person who rolled the highest last time now sends out their pokemon (DO NOT ATTACK) and preferably posts the pokemon's cert/stats
The other person now sends out their pokemon (DO NOT ATTACK)
THIRD POSTS: The person who sent out their pokemon first can now attack
Then the battle proceeds as normal.

THE FIELD OF CHOICE IS....
Plain Stage: If no random battlefield is chosen/randomized, the arena will merely stay as a simple concrete arena that looks like this. Raised platforms allow trainers to observe and give orders without as much personal risk to themselves.

 This was it! Lyle's big chance to show how great of a trainer he could be! True, he only had one pokemon, had never fought against another trainer and had lost his only two battles against a wild pokemon, but he'd been studying! And studying was what got him here in the first place. The afterschool Pokemon Trainer club had sponsored a field trip to see the Gym Leader tryout. Lyle had managed to sign himself up for the tryout when the teacher wasn't looking, then dash off to his match before anyone could stop him. Which was why Lyle arrived on the battlefield at a dead run. (Well, that and eagerness). No teacher could pull him off the field when he was in the middle of a battle, right? He made it to the trainer box and stopped for a minute to catch his breath before looking around. Now, who would be he battling against?

 Alexa walked into the stadium deep in thought. She really wanted to win the Gym Leader tryouts.... after all she had tried before and failed. She wanted to redeem herself this time. But what she was really focused on was which pokemon to use. She had no clue who her opponent was and what kinds of pokemon they may have. Perhaps she should start big.... though she knew Masked Socks was eager to battle. Stopping at her trainer box she looked up and noticed a younger boy on the other side. "Hey there! I take it you're my opponent? I'm Alexa Holtzer!" She called out. She finally made up her mind. Masked Socks would not be battling this time around. She'd have to pick from one of her other three.

Alexa fingered a pokeball and made her final decision. "Hope you don't mind but let's get this show on the road!" She grabbed the pokeball and sent it flying through the air, "Vincent! Let's show this kid how to battle!" The huge Arcanine appeared with a loud bark. "CANINE!" He barked and looked around wagging his tail. All intimidation was canceled out when he began happily yipping and ran over to Alexa to lick her face. He then turned to the boy on the other side and let his tongue hang out.  1050 HP

Lyle only had one pokemon, so the choice on who to use was easy. He also had no pokeball, so his pokemon had been clinging too his backpack as he raced into the battlefield. Now Lyle called, "Hi, I'm Lyle Cricket! And my pokemon's Spinel!" He pointed out across the battle field and his pokemon took the cue, leaping onto his shoulder then down to the ground. The small purple pokemon stared up at the much larger dog with glittering gemlike eyes. "Sableye!" Spinel said, grinning widely to show off his sharp, rock-crushing teeth.  1000 HP

Alexa grinned at Lyle. "Good luck!" She called out before turning to Vincent. Her giant dog seemed to recognize the sableye but was confused as it wasn't with the same human as he had last seen him. He finally shook his head and focused on the command his trainer gave him. "Odor Sleuth!" That should help out in coming up with attacks as sableye is a ghost/dark type. It would help to be able to use attacks that are normally useless against a ghost type. Vincent began sniffing around and soon ended up near Spinel. He began sniffing the sableye before running off. He now had the scent!

Odor Sleuth? Lyle had read about that move. It was just about the only way that Spinel could be hit with a super effective attack. That could be bad. But he could use strategy, too! "Spinel, try a Toxic!" he commanded.
Spinel twitched at being sniffed, but as the dog ran away he reared back his head to spit a thick glob of purple goo.

"Watch out Vincent!" Alexa called out seeing the toxic attack. Vincent quickly dodged and narrowed his eyes. Alexa thought for a moment and nodded to herself. "Use Howl!" Vincent quickly complied and howled a loud and long 'Aaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' that filled up the stadium.

Darnit, why did that attack never hit? But he had to suppress a grin at the Howl. Now, what to use next? Arcanine was Fire-type, which was weak to Water and Rock. Spinel had some Rock attacks. "Spinel, use Power Gem!"
The Sableye quickly began spinning in place, using the momentum to fling off several of the crystals that protruded from his back.

Vincent was too busy howling still to dodge the flying crystals. They hurt a little when they hit and made him stop howling. Glaring his mouth began to glow red. Soon he was shooting out a stream of fire that as it traveled towards Spinel bloomed into a circle and then had five lines of fire stream out.
"Great job using Fire Blast!" Alexa cheered.

Spinel flattened himself to the ground as the attack neared so that it passed helplessly above him. He looked up and cackled at Vincent, taunting him about the miss.
"Good thinking, Spinel! Another Power Gem!" Lyle called
His pokemon gleefully obeyed, jumping in the air and somersaulting several times to fling more gems.

This time Vincent was prepared and easily dodged the crystals. He again shot out another Fire Blast but this time had moved closer to Spinel in hopes that he couldn't dodge it this time.
"Keep it up Vincent! Remember stay light on your feet!" Alexa yelled trying to give some advice.

Spinel was still in the air when the attack was launched, so it hit him squarely. "Sable!" he shrieked as he landed on the ground, smoking slightly.
"Spinel, Try another Toxic," Lyle called. Maybe it would finally work?
His pokemon was willing to give it a try, so he flung out another foul glob of gunk.

"Watch it!" Alexa called out. She winced when the attack hit and thought quickly. They needed to really deal some damage.... and a good way for that is to lower the opponents defense. "Vincent, use Rock Smash!"
Vincent yelped in pain as the toxic glob hit his fur. He quickly shook to dislodge the glob and then rushed towards the sableye. His paw shot out towards his opponent but it wasn't a very hard hit, just enough to lower Spinel's defense.
