History:
Sentry was born and raised in the Bidoof Temple on Felicity Island. Life was hard there, with little food available and too many Bidoofs that needed it. From a very young age she was raised to hunt for food and fight off any intruders who would try and take it. Occasionally unwary pokemon swimmers or fliers, would stumble on the island, but were quickly driven off by the territorial Bidoofs.
As she grew, she was found to be a skilled battler, fiercely loyal and obeyed orders quickly and efficiently. These qualities were recognized and brought to the King's attention, which lead him to appoint her a member of his personal guard. Honored by the position, she guarded him faithfully until the day that a new kind of intruders was found on the island.
While other Bidoofs tried to drive off the invaders, she stayed in the King’s chambers, waiting tensely. She and the other guards were to be his last defense against the intruders, and while she would love to take the fight to the enemy, she had her orders and would not disobey. When the strange intruders burst into the chamber, she threw herself at a group of them, prepared to give her life for her King. Instead, she was beating into submission and captured by some mysterious means that left her helpless to escape.
She would have tried to escape her captor as soon as she had a chance. But after a while, she somehow heard her King telling the intruders to take care of his subjects. She considered this information for a while, and eventually decided that if that was the King's will, she would do as her captor - or rather, new master – asked.
When she was released and had her first chance to get to know her new master, she was glad to hear that she would be required to help guard her master's Leader. That at least made the work familiar. And better still, she would have other Bidoofs to aid her in the task, including another King's Guard that she was casually familiar with.
Her master provided her with plentiful food, left her free to build her own nest in a suitable place in his Leader's territory, and in general left her with far more freedom than she might have expected after first being captured. Initially she worked with her master because it was her King's last wish. But over time, she found she cooperated with her master because she wanted to. He had earned her loyalty, and she would gladly do as he wished.
While living in her new territory, Sentry and the other King's guard, now named Warden, became mates and had two children, Scout and Soldier. In time her master became a Leader himself in another city and had to go live there. But the considerate boy did not want to separate Sentry from her family, so she was released to live wild in the Motterossa Gym.
