City Streets Field: Broken tar and faded yellow lines make up the “street” that runs down the exact center of the battle field. On either side of the road are sidewalks with pieces of concrete here and there. Fake building walls, complete with broken glass windows and grime lining the surface, limit the amount of maneuverable space on land. Trash cans and trash bags decorate the street. A sewer grate nearby continually pours a stream of fog into the air which, unfortunately, helps spread the horrible stench of the trash. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to POISON type attacks.

Zak entered the field. The city streets eh? This was the second he had battled upon this field. The first time was with Zue, but now he wanted to give his horsea a chance to battle. He couldn't wait until he got the little one to evolve into a kingdra, then he'd officially have his first dragon pokemon.

Taking his place on the trainer's stage he waited for his opponent to arrive, letting out Flora while they waited.

It took the horsea a bit to balance herself upon the land. Land was not her strong suit, water was. Still she was determined to win this one. "Horsea!" the stench was horrible and here she was complaining about it. If she still was a water pokemon she would have drenched the area in an instant to be rid of the smell, however now she waited for her trainer's commands. Ever so waiting for their opponent to arrive.

Lyle jogged through the stadium to the battlefield. He couldn't wait to battle again! But when he neared the field, he slowed a bit as the smell told him what kind of field it was. Not this one again! Still, there was no use complaining. He stopped out onto the field to find his opponent was already there. "Hi! I'm Lyle, and this is Spinel!" he said, pointing to the pokemon on his head.

The Sableye was clinging to his trainer's baseball cap, a favorite perch of his. When he was introduced, the purple pokemon waved one forepaw before hopping down and trotting out onto the field.

"Hello" he greeted back, "I'm Zak and that is Flora." He introduced both him and his horsea.

At the mention of her name the eager horsea spat a water gun attack at her trainers face, impatiently waiting for the battle to begin. She wondered why she was even out if she wasn't going to be battling.

"Flora!" he cried out now completely dripping. It was at that same time that Zue, his golbat came out of its pokeball and attached its self to its trainer's soaking head. "Really Zue do you have to do that now?" he questioned the bat and then gave a small sigh. "Fine, just stay up there and be a good boy. This is Flora's battle." giving in to him.

"Alright Flora since your so eager lets start off with a Hydro Pump!"

Quite amused by her trainer's reaction, but once the bat emerged from its ball she gave a small snort. "Sea!" complaining her distaste for the flying pokemon. Though right when the command was given her full attention was upon her opponent. Determination in her red eyes she sent a large stream of water at her opponent.

Spinel bounded onto the field, eager to battle. But the Horsea he was apparently fighting and her trainer just kept talking at each other. Spinel got a little board and started looking around the field, noting where stuff was. When an attack was finally called, it was very easy to duck behind a bit of broken wall he'd noticed nearby, leaving the gushing water to splash uselessly against the pavement. He poked his head over the wall to cackle impishly at the seahorse.

"Nice going, Spinel!" Lyle cheered happily. "Now, Confuse Ray!"

His pokemon grinned widely and hopped on top of the broken wall to catch the Horsea's attention as his eyes began to flash a series of disorienting colors.

"Flora lets Freeze its movements with Blizzard" Zak commanded.

The confuse ray didn't affect the little horsea. Its movements were limited on land so dodged was hardly ever an option. At the command the horsea began to wipe up a Blizzard in the arena, hoping to slow down her opponen'ts movements, so that they were on the same level of mobility.

Spinel hopped down behind the wall again to try and dodge the attack, but with the cold winds swirling all around the field, it swirled around every obstacle and caught him anyway. As a layer of ice formed all over his body, Spinel fell over with a clunk, frozen stiff as a board.

"Alright Flora, now that it is down now lets lower its defense with Flash Cannon!" Zak called out to his pokemon, quite pleased that blizzard had worked.

Flora 'hopped' towards the wall her opponent had fallen behind all the while gathering light with in her 'mouth'. Once she was before her frozen opponent she released it.

Lyle was anxious for his pokemon, but they weren't beaten yet, not by a long shot. "Work yourself free!" he shouted to his pokemon. "You'll be out in no time!"

Spinel tried, flexing his muscles as best he could to try and loosen the ice. It seemed to be giving way a little, but he wasn't out yet.

"Now hit it with a Hydro Pump Flora!" they had to do some damage before the pokemon thawed else freezing them was worthless. Zak wanted to even the score a bit, since this was floa's first battle with him.

Taking a deep breath the horsea sent a large stream of water at the frozen Sableye.

Perhaps the force of the water weakened the ice a bit, because Spinel was able to work a little more wiggle room into the ice. he squirmed visibly on the floor, the ice starting to chip away as he fought to get free.

"Flora shall we help him out of the ice?" He questioned his horsea. "Lets heat up the water and hit him with Scald!"

This time Flora heated up the water before she sent the stream at her opponent. After it was sent she readied herself for the counter from her opponent, knowing full well that the heated water would free him from his frozen prison.

Spinel had just about broken free when the blast of hot watch struck. He yelped as the ice abruptly disappeared, freeing him up only to be thrown back by the rush of water. The ground was still steaming when the water stopped. Spinel climbed back to his feet and shook himself off like a wet dog. He wasn't beaten yet!

Lyle hated freezing. But maybe he could use that, too. "Spinel, give them a taste of their own medicine! Ice Punch!"

Spinel grinned wickedly at the idea. His fist became wreathed with ice as he rushed towards the sea horse.

"Flora Watch it!" He called out but it was too late.

The horsea was hit by the ice punch and tumbled back a bit. Ice covered her body, restricting her movements. She struggled as much as she could to get out of it.
