Roll a six: Electric Field: The field is completely flat. Standing at the four corners and at the exact center of the field are five electrical towers that stand at six feet in height. These release static discharge across the field at random; electric attacks may be able to amplify themselves by using these stray charges to their advantage. The discharges also programmed to encourage pokemon to avoid standing in one location for too long. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to ELECTRIC type attacks.

More than ever, Lyle was eager to battle. He still felt under-prepared for his new position as Gym Leader, and hoped getting more battle experience would help him get stronger and feel more confident.
The hair on his arms stood on end as Lyle entered the stadium. Oh, it was the electric field this time. This one was a weird one, but Hematite ought to be OK. He tossed out his pokemon to release the Haunter, who appeared in a puff of smoke and looked around.

Baleno had been preparing for this for a long time. His first ever stadium fight. This was going to be something to remember. He glanced around as he made his way to the field, a full hearted grin on his face when he realized what sorta stadium it was, " This must be my lucky day."
And that was all he said before grabbing up the only pokeball on his belt and throwing it up in the air. Starru was released from its pokeball, landing on its fours than wiggled its tail slightly. He'd gotten the talk before they entered the stadium, so though this was the pokemon's first time as well, it knew what was to be expected.
" Good luck, dude!" Baleno called out to the other, seeing as this was supposed to just be friendly competition.

Lyel smiled and waves back at the other trainer. "Thanks, you too!" Then ho considered strategy, and decided, "hematite, start with Ice Punch!"
The Hunter's fist began to glow blue as she held the hand out toward Starru. Then she fired it off toward her opponent as if it were propelled with a rocket.

" Get reaaaady he's about to--" Baleno tried alerting his Emolga, but to no avail. The pokemon sprang forward, hoping to catch the Haunter off guard, but was instead caught in the attack.
Baleno face palmed, taking a few moments to take a deep breath and look up at his iced pokemon. Shoot, Starru wasn't going to be able to do anything for a bit.

Lyle grinned when his opponent was immobilized. "Great! Now keep at it."
Hematite cackled and drifted closer, her hands glowing again. Once she was near she swung her fist at Starru.

Geeze, he forgot just how cut throat these battles could be. All he could do is watch and yell for his pokemon as the Haunter came in for another attack.
Starru felt the pain rush through his tiny little body, it was excruciating. The little emolga powered it's cheeks, shocking the ice until finally it was released a fell to the ground. It panted quietly, trying to regain it strength.
Baleno sighed out, relieved that Starru had been released, but knew he'd need a bit longer to recover its strength. Looks like they'd have to play on the defense for now.

The little pokemon had gotten free, but Lyle wasn't worried yet. Hematite was swinging for another punch before the Emolga could get up, so he let her keep at it.

Starru was hit again, being shoved back a bit. It slowly turned to glares at Hematite, giving it a look that said 'my turn'.
" Alright, Starru, let's show them what you got! Shockwave!"
Starru's cheeks sparked, and in what seemed to be a second, there was electricity in the air shocking the haunter.

There was electricity all over this stadium; there was no avoiding it. The faint static charge that Hematite had been feeling all along suddenly intensified, jolting through her. She shuddered, glared at Starru, then swung another punch.

Starru shook off the punch, then hissed a bit at the haunter. The rush that the gym gave Starru, that was one it wanted to experience again. And so, it did, sending another shock wave at the Haunter.

Hematite did not enjoy getting shocked nearly as much as Starru liked shocking her. She tried to shake off the electricity, then swung again.

Baleno watched as his Starru took another hit. He was going to loose at this rate, which meant he was going to have to try something risky.
" Alright, Starru, why don't you show that haunter a little love! Give 'em a nice big hug!"
Starru glanced back, taking in what Baleno was asking him to do, then grinned, it's cheeks sparking as it turned to look at Hematite. It quickly jumped towards Hematite, arms wide open.
