 Brief Summary: Confident and proud, she only ever really shows her insecurities to those she trusts above all else. She is dedicated to her career and family life, though is lacking in friends because of it. Most of her friends develop through proximity as opposed to common interests or due to being like-minded. She has become rather self-focused over the years, which hasn't won her any real brownie points with anyone. Considered a bit aloof from time to time, Joseth seems to be the only one who can really keep her grounded. Open to Romance: No Lovers:Joseth -- her one true love. These two have been friends since their early years, and while Burvia and Joseth had hoped for a triad with their other friend Esrael, they disappeared a long time ago, and Joseth and Burvia had no choice but to continue on with their lives, despite the hole it left.Friends:Lydia -- A fellow fashion queen, Lydia and Burvia decided to run a fashion club during their Academy years. Esrael -- A childhood friend who disappeared from her life. Cael -- A childhood acquaintance. He drew her a picture once. Burvia vaguely remembers how the crayon tasted even to this day.  Brief Summary: Quietly charismatic, Aten possesses a confidence that was hard-earned and trained as opposed to someone born or raised with an ego. It took a lot of harsh lessons for Aten to finally hit his stride in life. He was once a very awkward, lanky looking child who was rather overbearingly manic, but also cripplingly shy at times. Smolder really helped overhaul Aten, and for that Aten is forever grateful. His dream is to become a caretaker at the Academy, and so he spends much of his free time volunteering for the Big Siblings program, as well as making sure all the Freshlings want for nothing. He very much believes in nurture over nature, and is a very compassionate and encouraging soul. Open to Romance: In a triad with Smolder and Cassie. Lovers:Smolder -- Unfortunately for Aten, Smolder is a heterosexual and doesn't care for Aten in the same way. Smolder only views them as really good friends. For a while, this damaged the relationship, and when Smolder graduated Aten felt a sense of relief ... but also an overwhelming sense of loneliness.Cassie -- Aten met her during his Junior years at the Academy. He was working on a project with his peers in the library, and Smolder had tagged along to keep him on track ... instead, Smolder flirted with the girl and threw off the entire group's focus. As the years passed, Aten lost touch with her once Smolder left for university. But the two got back in touch and rekindled their connection, and soon a romantic relationship formed. Friends:Chi -- When Smolder left the Academy to pursue post-secondary, Aten was still reeling from Smolder's rejection. Once he entered in to his senior years at the Academy, Aten decided to bend himself towards his dream: becoming a caretaker for the other freshlings at the Academy. During his volunteer work, Aten ran in to the Hybrid known as Chi, and was immediately taken aback by the girl's cute charm, innocence, and her own drive towards her passions, as well as her dedication to her dreams. This could easily be Aten's first friend since Smolder and Cassie left him behind. What he doesn't know yet is that Chi has a girlfriend, and that her girlfriend also has a daughter.  Brief Summary: Smolder is a loud-mouth, lady's man. Not so much in the sense that all the ladies love him, but more so that he loves the ladies. He's the kind of guy to awkwardly ramble on when nervous and deeply insert foot in mouth at any opportunity. A goof ball, he rarely wins over the hearts of his present affections due to the fact it seems like he is incapable of being serious. Tho Smolder knows he can be -- people just often don't give him the chance to be. Open to Romance: In a triad with Cassie and Aten Lovers:Cassie -- Honestly, this girl is just fab. She's able to keep up with Smolder no matter what she does, and even if she doesn't understand his weirdly paced mind, at least she can tease him, sass him, and generally enjoy the ride.  Brief Summary: Prickly and evasive, Castus is more of a lone wolf. He enjoys his solitude. Generally untrusting of others, he has a hard time computing other's emotional needs when he can barely understand his own, and finds it far easier to just isolate himself. He doesn't want to have to be responsible for an extra person or five. Because of how guarded he usually is, Castus rarely makes friends, and the ones he does make he usually drives them away. Sometimes even intentionally when they get too close and scare him by what secrets they may uncover ... Open to Romance: His love life is very complicated. He's not quick to love, and those he does love sometimes wonder what they mean to him. Lovers & Crushes:Charnel -- Charnel always bugged Castus. She always made a pest of herself and found her way to his dorm room all the time. Castus never asked for the company, but Charnel always offered it and dealt with his at times sharp tongue and cruel, poorly thought out comments. Tho, deep down, Castus enjoyed the company. Charnel was someone he could relate to, even if he didn't publicly admit it. That's probably why Castus gave her one of his feathers during his Junior years. Charnel keeps it on her all the time ... it was something Castus did impulsively in the heat of the moment, tho. Much of their relationship since then has felt that way.  Brief Summary: Flirty and quite fem, Likais dances through life. Every choice he makes is made with conviction and passion, and he never looks back or holds regrets for past decisions. Often times Likais is mistaken for someone who identifies as female or androgynous, but Likais is a male, and likes his lovers that way too. Likais' dream is to run a dance course for fellow Litches and to teach them how to belly dance and is very polyamorous. Open to Romance: Yes! Though he's not a monogamous person, unless he /really/ finds the one! Lovers & Crushes:Sascha -- Likais' relationship with Sascha was rather whirlwind.  Brief Summary: Rajna wants to become an astronomy major once she goes on to university, however, a lot of her time is spent ignoring the real world and playing video game during all of her free time. Sometimes even in class when she can get away with it.  Brief Summary: Considerate and non-confrontational, Ember is a bit of an enigma. You can never really tell what she's really thinking, and just when you think you have her pegged, she does the completely unexpected. It keeps her friends on their toes, but at times also frustrates them. She has a sort of coyness to her that, to some, comes off as ignorance or obliviousness -- which can frustrate close friends.  Brief Summary: Joselyn was adopted when xe was old enough to know that Burvia wasn't their biological mom. Out of respect and gratitude, they refer to both Burvia and Joseth as her parents. For the most part, Jose is generally an accepting person. Because of being brought up in the orphanage, Jose has experienced a lot of things, and gotten to know so many different people from different walks of life. Due to this, Joselyn even accepts all pronouns used towards them, and sometimes even flip-flops between xe/xer, he/him/, and she/her. It's just easier that way, and Jose just wants to keep prejudice levels down in the world. Jose herself is rather laid-back and easy to get along with.  Brief Summary: Wednesday is a bit precocious. They have a lot of intel on a lot of different subjects, and because of this some children are put off by her, calling them a 'know-it-all'. Luckily, Wednesday could care less. They'd rather spend their time researching new topics to read up on than concern themselves with other people's thoughts. However, if someone really riles her up or offends (don't bring up their weird eyes ... they will make sure you get your just desserts) them, they have no qualms about releasing their inner Geist and playing a prank or two on their unsuspecting victims. 9 times out of 10, Wednesday gets away with it too. Though, be kind to her, and you'll stay in her good books. A bit short tempered, those who win their way in to her heart are there to stay for life.  Brief Summary: Insanely empathetic, Gale has a hard time separating her own emotions from those of the people around her. She feels what her peers feel and is working hard to try and distance herself from the overwhelming feelings she gets whenever she steps out in to public. Generally a well-rounded, even-tempered child, Gale likes to experience many of life's joys but is often caught stuck indoors due to the overwhelming impact each new place leaves on her.  Brief Summary: Hexen prefers to keep to themselves. They're quiet, shy, and generally speaking an introvert. They would rather spend their days imagining up entire worlds inside their head than interact with the one they presently live in. They're a world builder and a writer, coming up with entire novels in a weekend -- it just takes time to get it all down, of course.
Their introversion is not because they dislike other Nightmares, though they have a habit of holding people at arm's length. This is because their head is always up in the clouds, and they are fairly self-driven which tends to turn people off from her.
It takes Hexen a while to get out of their creative headspace. She becomes so entwined with the races in her worlds that she sometimes forgets she's a separate entity.
Because of how dedicated and bent to her creations she is, Hexen has never had a serious relationship or a 'best friend', and she doesn't seem to mind at all.
Negatively, this means that she tends to isolate herself and forget to eat or drink, or sometimes even sleep, which significantly impacts her health. At her worst she looks like she has crawled out of some deep, dark hole somewhere and squints around at her classmates, as if allergic to light.Open to Romance: Yes, though be careful ...  Brief Summary: Talfia is a bit of an enigma; she can be really outgoing and charismatic, but she also can be very retiring and insecure. A people please, she dislikes conflict with friends, but can always be a d**k right back at anyone who tries to start a fight. It all depends on the circumstance. Sadly, due to work related issues, Talfia and her wife live separate from one another. Talfia, unlike Jerika, doesn't tell anyone she has a wife back home.
