Dahlia really didn't know what to make of the assignment, but her daddy had told her not to question what the teacher had asked them to do. It seemed kinda silly to make words with your name, though. What was the point? What she wrote wasn't funny or worth reading... She twisted her lip and shrugged. Oh well, maybe Ms. Lyra would find it amusing anyway? She hopped out of her desk and placed it on Lyra's, before skipping back to her seat.

Sequoia tilted her head at her writing. Was this really what she wanted to submit? It was all she could think to write, and honestly, it was hard to think of good words for the letters U and Q. She didn't want to spend the next hour looking things up in a dictionary when she could be taking a walk outside in the cool weather. The Grimm turned to look out the window and suppressed a whine. Oh, how she wanted to catch the last few weeks of fall weather before the snow came down...
"Here you go, Ms Lyra." She said, slipping the paper on top of the others. "... Can we write about the outdoors next time? It might be fun..."

 Username: Lavender Hues Nightmare: Zephyr Prompt Answer: Zephyr immediately blushed when he heard the prompt and took a breath in. Oh boy, this was personal, and he didn't really like chatting about his personal life. After all, wasn't that stuff supposed to stay hidden? He sighed. Well, he couldn't not do the work. Ms. Lyra would probably be upset with him if he handed in an empty paper...
"This happened recently, actually, so I'm kind of still trying to deal with it. My roommate, and best friend, is an Baphomet named Beta. Beta and I have always been sort of close, like, we'd watch movies together and buy each other gifts. That kind of close. But, last month, Beta told me that they had feelings for me. You know, like... That they liked me more than a friend and stuff. It made me feel a awkward, so I yelled at them instead of being nice about it, and Beta ended up crying. I felt really bad about that and didn't know how to talk to them for a while.
But, things are looking better now! Beta and I talked about it and we're just friends. I'm not ready to think about dating anyone, and really, love is kind of weird. The idea of holding hands with someone in public just makes me really nervous. Maybe that will change one day, I don't know, but I'd rather focus on school than finding the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with. And, who knows, maybe that person will end up being Beta. It's all up to me in the end, I guess."
With a face redder than a cherry, Zephyr scooted up to Lyra's desk and handed the paper in. Hopefully she wouldn't find it weird! He'd hate to make a negative impression!

Prompt Answer: Benefits and drawbacks of allowing free travel between Above and Below... Shaxio stared at the assignment on his sheet for a few moments, mind slow to really grasp onto it. What to write? Were there drawbacks at this point? Probably...
I'm of the opinion that it would be more beneficial to allow free travel. I think we've come far enough from the war to be able to handle each other on a more personable basis. As it is, continuing to bar free travel and association between the two realms is stifling our ability to grow. Most days I don't hear anything about the Above, but when I do, it's usually either negative or an expression of wanting to know more.
I think that some benefits would be a potential for greater understanding, since we'll be face to face more often, as well as a lessening of racism between both parties. From what I have heard, most older generations think poorly of the Above, but many younger kids just want to know more.
As for drawbacks, I suppose if people are not open enough, it could lead to another war if both sides are still too focused on the past to move forward.
With a sigh, he sat back in his chair. That would have to do... He wrote his name on the top, and then got up to pass it in to Miss Lyra.

Piper took her time as she thought of just the write words to go with her name. It was a bit challenging to have to come up with two different 'P' words for her name. Were they supposed to describe her? Or just be words that she really enjoyed? Ah well, she went for it and finally turned in a paper with her name one it.

Eilwen took her time trying to find the right words to go with her name. She didn't mind the assignment at all and was quite thankful that at least she didn't have to share what she came up with with the rest of the class. She was quite happy to turn in her paper to Lyra and then quietly return to her seat until the end of class.

Prompt Answer: Sprout groaned inwardly. They didn't like these types of things. It was too easy to get all confused. Slowly they composed their sentences.
Words: lite/light, graft/graph, ail/ale
- The party was so active that when Sprout went to find the lite punch in the dim light of the kitchen, multiple people bumped into them.
- The plant had been graft together for their science class; to get a passing grade, they had to make a graph of the plant's growth.
- Back in the day, when someone had an ail they often just drank more ale in hopes that pain would go away.
Well, at least they found a way to make it fun. Somewhat proud of their sentences, Sprout turned them in once they got to class.

Ugh, gross. Ganymede was not a fan of this activity. Come to think of it, he never really seemed to like Miss Lyra's homework assignments.......Maybe it was rubbing off onto disliking Ella as much as he did.

With such a pretty teacher, Erzalie was far more relaxed than in some of their other classes - at the very least it was much easier to pay attention to what the assignment was without feeling silly or like a bother. A letter to Santa Claws? Ezra could totally do that! The dual-tailed Freshling set to work, laboriously trying to keep their penmanship neat and tidy so that Santa Claws would be doubly impressed. When they were done, they shyly took the paper with it’s childish scrawl up to Lyra and handed it in before skittering away. Username: Syrie Nightmare: Erzalie Entry:Dear Santa Claws, My name is Erzalie and I'm a Freshling. I live with my two moms, Coralie and Ashlynn, and my siblings Gilby and Jazilyn. Mom says that we're all "hybrids", since they are two different kinds. If Mom says so and Other Mom agrees, it's gotta be true, right? Anyway, I have pink hair and two really nice tails that aren't fluffy at all like Jazilyn's tail. Gilby has a tail like mine, but only one...they do have wings though, which is nice. I'd like wings. Hey! Santa Claws, do you think I could get a pair of cool wings? I've really been good, not biting Gilby or kicking Jazilyn for trying to touch Twitch - Twitch is my best friend in the whole wide everything! We go everywhere together - Twitch looks kind of like a lemon lamb thing, but has these really awesome stars on his adorable face. And I haven't thrown a fit in at least a year - or longer! I believe that the addition of the Daydreams to our schools and communities seems like it could either be a very good idea, or a very bad idea. Theoretically, everyone should be able to get along but life doesn't always follow the theories we set forth. Nightmares as well as Daydreams have both the capacity to get a long with each as well as the capacity to start arguments that could lead to fights. Some races are very proud and that can rub others the wrong way. So far everything seems to be going smoothly, and I personally have not seen anything that could go awry but I worry that so much change could make tensions run higher than usual.
Other than these possibilities, I think the Daydreams are a welcome change to Below. It will be very interesting to learn about their races and cultures. I am particularly interested in the Fey, and the sub-types of Lunar versus Solar. The differences seem to be few, but fascinating all the same. I hope that this goes well, and that perhaps Nightmares will be able to visit Above. I am very curious to know what it's like there, and how it differs from Below.

Prompt Answer: Taegan grumbled to themself at the assignment. Essays were not their favorite part of any class, and they were the number one reason they preferred science in fact. Less essays. Lab reports were all about what happened in experiments. Much easier, and more straightforward. Still, an assignment was an assignment. Sighing, they set to work writing.
I think it's good that we are sharing our world with the Daydreams. Perhaps doing this will improve relations between the worlds and things will relax enough that we can begin importing and exporting things again. The trade will help both of our worlds, as long as both sides can maintain peace. A war between the worlds would be pointless and cost both sides more than anyone would like to give. That being said, so far so good. Everyone is getting along and playing nice. Hopefully it continues that way and everything stays peaceful.
To me, the only differences are physical and culturual, but the same can be said of all the races whether they are Nightmare or Daydream. It's just a matter of learning the differences and being careful of the ones that could cause issues if one is ignorant of certain cultural taboos. And really, learning about their cultures is the least we can do. Not only will it help us to understand the differences, but it could help with general goodwill between the worlds if we both make an effort to learn about each other. It might actually be interesting to see how they live in Above.
